Chapter Twenty
By the time there was any sort of news on Seonghwa and his condition, the sun had already started to set, the remaining seven remained in the waiting room, at some point Hongjoong was pacing around the waiting room so he wasn't sitting still. The doctor came up to them, letting them all know hat Seonghwa was out of surgery, and that he would eventually be okay. The reason the surgery had taken so long was because when he was shot, it had hit an artery so they had to get that taken care of.
The relief flooded them all, hell Hongjoong was close to sobbing due to the relief he felt knowing his lover was going to be okay, sitting down in a seat but that wasn't long until he was back in his feet again. "Can I see him?"
The doctor thought about it, taking a glance to everyone before he was turning to Hongjoong. "He's still unconscious but you can if you really want. I'd advise you keep it at a minimal so when he does wake up he's not overwhelmed. Hongjoong would nod to let the doctor know he understood, and turned to San already handing his keys to him. "You take Wooyoung home. I'll be the one to stay here with Seonghws and watch over him." He even turned to the other four. "You're welcome to stay at my place too for the night, I'll call if anything happens." Wooyoung watched Hongjoong turn his back to them, and was following the doctor so he could get to Seonghwa as soon as he could.
"Come on, I'm certain you're tired and hungry, we can all decide on food once we get back." A hand was outstretched to Wooyoung, which he took and had stood up from the chair. He was right, he didn't realize just how hungry he was since Seonghwa was on everyone's mind, none had even thought about food. Wooyoung went with San, and got into the passenger seat while San got in the driver's. It was assumed the other couples would follow as they drove back to the olders' home where they could all just relax and eventually get food into their systems.
Though as they were all settling down, the questions came rolling in asking what the hell even happened and how Seonghwa was even injured in the first place.
San and Wooyoung turned to each other, before both shrugging in sync. "I was out, I wasn't even aware they all came to my house to get me out of there." Wooyoung started. "And I was upstairs talking with his dad when I heard a gunshot." San chimed in, Wooyoung leaning back in the couch while he was also crossing his legs and placing his hands in his lap. Answering al their questions the best the two could, when things were satisfied, now comes the most important question: What should be for dinner.
"Well I'm surely not cooking." San first spoke as he decided he'd get comfortable on the couch, even putting his head on Wooyoung's lap, who obviously didn't mind. "After the shit day I had, I deserve a break from cooking." Wooyoung had raised his hand to push back his pink bangs, taking notice on how faded the pink was. He definitely was in need of a bit of a touch up on it. Now that he thought about it, he never had his hair dyed before. His dad said no plus it wasn't anything he was really too upset over but maybe now he was under his rule anymore he could change that.
"I for once am not really wanting chicken, I want something new." Yeosang decided to speak, and the others joked by pretending to be shocked. Even Jongho was in on it. "I'm surprised to say the least." The youngest of them all said, taking his hand and pressed it to his boyfriend's forehead. "You suggest it at least once a day or every other day." The look on Yeosang's face made Jongho laugh, his hand being smacked away.
"Uh, Mingi?" The man in question lifted his head from Yunho's shoulder when his name was called, before he was shrugging. "Yunho what do you want?" He'd look to the taller next to him, who rolled his eyes. "You always go with what I want. You decide for us this time!" Mingi had whined, even shaking Yunho's arm. "But I don't want to choose something that you wouldn't likeeeee!" The younger of the two was whining to his own lover, who in response Yunho gently nudged him away and let out a huff. "You know I'm not picky. As long as it tastes good I don't care!" Yunho tried to say, yet Mingi was still persistent on letting Yunho choose.
"How about some of us go to the store?" Jongho suggested. "We go and see what seems good." The others, even Wooyoung seemed content with that, and after that it would be determined who would be going to the store over a game of rock, paper and scissors. In the end, it was Jongho and Mingi, so when they were gone, with nothing to do but to sit and wait, the tv was turned on for a distraction.
Jongho and Mingi came back with bags of groceries, and Yunho ended up volunteering to cook in the kitchen and naturally Mingi would want to assist Yunho with cooking. Knowing how Seonghwa would probably get at their asses they would eat in the kitchen, small talk between them all before Wooyoung would speak. "Hey San?" Getting his boyfriend's attention, who was talking to Mingi he hummed.
"Now that I'm you know, not really living under my dad's rules, I know this is random but maybe I should try something new." To give San and the others an idea on what he was referring to he motioned to San's hair. "Like change my hair color. It was something dad didn't want me to do."
"Can't say I'm surprised by that." Wooyoung laughed at San's comment before continuing. "Can we try something tonight? You definitely need to fix your hair too." San seemed on board with the idea. "Yeah, guess it would be a nice new start on your life as a free man~"
That's how after dinner and a quick trip to the store, Wooyoung was sitting in the bathroom with a towel wrapped around his shoulders, bleach in his hair and San and even Yeosang, who insisted he wanted to help with coloring his hair, behind him. "What color do you want to do, baby?" Thinking about it, it was probably a bad idea but he didn't hesitate to reply with, "Surprise me." The grins on the older two's faces had him almost regretting it, he could see it through the mirror they were all standing in front of.
"Oh this'll be fun." Wooyoug felt like he shouldn't like the sound of that.
He was soon told to shut his eyes, told by San he wanted it to be a complete surprise for him. "Just please make sure I have hair after this." Wooyoung was begging and felt a hand on his shoulder. Either Yeosang's or San's he wasn't sure, he couldn't see. The smell of the bleach on his hair made him scrunch his face some, but at least it wasn't long until it was washed out, and the surprise color was put in it. A colored cap was put over his hair so he didn't have to keep his eyes shut forever, at least until it was time to rinse his hair out.
"Do I have hair?" He asked as he was leaned back against the tub, San having the shower head in his hands to rinse off his hair.
"No." He almost smacked Yeosang at his remark, huffing, after he was done, he was finally able to look in the mirror. Turns out San and Yeosang surprised him with a light purple, pretty much a lavender color. "Well?" San was waiting for a response, and he was quick to get one with a big smile on Wooyoung's face. "I love it!" He proclaimed, turning to the two."
"Great! Now get out so I can do San's hair." He was pushed out by Yeosang so he could help San with his own hair.
Turns out San changed his hair to all black, bleaching just a section of his bangs and coloring it a greenish blue. "Not much of a big difference as yours." San was commenting while pushing back his bangs, Wooyoung giggling while he went to their bed to get settled for the night. "Yeah, well sucks I can't call you my bubblegum boyfriend anymore." He said, leaving San to stand there and give Wooyoung a look.
"You... Never called me that in the first place."
"Well I never will get to!" Laying in the bed, San was quickly joining him. "Wait." Wooyoung sat back up quickly, and looked down at his person then to San. "I don't have pajamas." He told San, who was only shrugging. "You can always sleep naked." Wooyoung's face went red. "San!" He smacked his boyfriend's shoulder. "I'm not going to sleep nude- What if our friends came into the room?!" San was wheezing at this point, even if he was smacked again over it. "Oh relax!" His arms went around Wooyoung to hold him tightly. "You'd be under the covers, besides I was kidding." The look he was given told Wooyoung that he in fact, was not. So he was giving San a glare, which eventually made San groan out.
"I have my stuff with me, look in my bags by the end of the bed." San pointed over so Wooyoung crawled over. As he was grabbing the bag, Byeol had come jumping up onto the bed so she could get herself comfortable for the night. He ended up taking one of San's shirts, but while he started to get undressed he could just feel San's eyes on him, but when he would turn his head and look over his shoulder, San quickly looked away, pretending like he wasn't just watching. Shaking his head, he tossed off his own shirt, and off came his shorts.
Again, feeling the eyes of San on him this time he didn't try to look over to catch him, putting on his shirt he was quickly getting back into the bed and into San's arms. "The purple looks really nice on you." San complemented, fingers pushing through Wooyoung's newly dyed locks. "I'm glad I went with it, it suits you." That made Wooyoung smile. "I like it too, especially because you chose it." He stated, his head turning so he could look up to San. A quick peck was given to San before he was getting himself comfortable for the night, his eyes even shutting. He felt so relaxed and content now, knowing from this point on he didn't have to worry about anything. Or at least, that's what he was assuming as he fell asleep in San's arms.
