Aftermath
The kiss ended almost as soon as it started. Young-do pulled away and looked into my eyes, his usual smirk appearing on his face. "I told you it would be better than the rooftop." I looked at him, a smile appearing on my face. But it quickly went away. "Y-Young-do...what would your father say? What would he do? I don't want you to get hurt because of me." I worried. Young-do put a finger over my lips. "Don't worry. It'll all be okay. Just enjoy the moment, okay?" He smiled. I smiled back at him. "I'm sorry, I'm just kind of shocked. I didn't know that you felt that way about me." He scoffed. "Haven't I been making it obvious? You must be pretty dense." He joked. I rolled my eyes and laughed.
"As amazing as this moment is, it's getting pretty late. My mom's probably wondering where I am." Young-do nodded. "I don't want that to happen. Come on, as your bodyguard, it's my job to walk you home." He held his hand out to me. I smiled and slipped my hand into his. "You're still going to be my bodyguard?" I asked. "Of course. That's a job that'll never end." He smiled. "And I don't want it to." He walked me down the ramp and we started on my way home.
"So, are you still getting the room for half-price?" He asked me. I nodded, my happy disposition changing when I was reminded of my financial worries. I sighed, "Well, my mom's friend ended up no longer being able to pull the strings necessary to have us pay half-price, so the price of the hotel has raised astronomically. We're already behind on our payments." He sucked in a deep breath. "Do you need any help? Money-wise?" I frantically waved my hands around. "Oh no, no, no, we'll be fine, thanks. I wouldn't want to take any money from you." He raised an eyebrow. "You wouldn't want to take money from ME? Why, what's wrong with my money?"
Uh oh. I can tell I struck a nerve. "No no, it's nothing like that, but I would feel bad if I took your money. Besides, your dad would probably be really upset!" I twiddled my thumbs together. "And I don't want to be a burden." His expression softened. "You would never be a burden." He said it in such a way that my stomach got filled with a million butterflies and my eyes were full of stars. He smirked, breaking the mood. "But, suit yourself. I'll just buy myself more suits and watches." He chuckled deep from his gut. I laughed along with him.
The city lights of Seoul looked so pretty as we were walking back to my apartment. The tight sidewalks made it so that Young-do and I were forced to get closer to one another, which isn't something I was opposed to at all. However, the pretty scenery couldn't fully distract me from all the thoughts swirling around in my head. Young-do kissed me. He kissed me! He basically confessed to me, and now what comes next?
I tried to shake the thoughts out of my head, but every single glance at Young-do made the thoughts intensify and my heartbeat speed up.
This boy was going to kill me, slowly but surely.
"So, what will happen with us now?" I asked. He looked at me. "With us?" I suddenly felt very self-conscious. "W-Well, the kiss back there, you basically confessing, where do we stand?" I asked, wanting to have a clear head. He smirked and interlocked his fingers with mine. "Where do you want us to stand?" My cheeks were aflame. "H-Huh?"
He leaned in closer to me and smiled. "Do you like me too, Seo-yun?" Despite how close he was to me, and the weight of his question, I felt strangely calm. Like this is exactly where I was supposed to be. "Young-do...I li-"
Suddenly, a limousine came roaring towards us. It screeched to a halt and stopped an inch away from the curb where we were standing. The wind made our hair fly in our faces and we struggled to look and see who this crazy driver was. The window in the back rolled down to reveal Rachel Yoo looking at us in shock.
"Young-do? What are you doing with HER?"
This was not going to be good.
