Chapter 1

Third Person POV

Location : La Sierra , Ecuador

Sixty seven miles west of Quito, farmer Andres, trudged slowly towards his farm house, after putting in a hard day's work, growing the finest avocados in Ecuador. The avocados from his farm were exported to all the fine stores in US and Europe.

It had been a clear bright sunny day, with a slight westerly breeze, keeping the temperature in check. As the Sun set behind the beautiful Andes mountains, an enchanting night sky filled with stars took over the scenery.

After stepping into his farm house, Andres quickly took a shower and freshened up. He opened the refrigerator and grabbed few beers and then stepped out into his backyard, laying down on a makeshift cot.

Sipping cold beer, listening to music, while watching stars in the night sky. was his idea of heaven. In his opinion, every twinkling star has a story and some mystery behind it. He knew the location of each and every star, as he has been watching them for years.

Today was no different. He started from the western end and slowly moved east, as if taking attendance of each star.

He stopped halfway and noticed a new star. He forgot about rest of the sky as he concentrated on the new star. It looked like, it was right above him.

Then it started growing bigger and bigger. His heart rate increased as he watched it grow in size. It looked as if it was moving towards him rapidly.

Not a fucking star .. he murmured to himself as the flashing light rushed towards him rapidly.

At one point, it looked as if the mysterious light would crash into him. He jumped of the cot, spilling beer everywhere and ran into his farmhouse to escape from the crash.

But as soon as Andres bolted, the light reversed its direction and flew back into the night sky, confusing Andres, as he looked back and saw everything was normal again.

Andres was right. It was no star.

It was an Aglea class advanced jurian fighter spacecraft. It exited Earth's atmosphere with the same speed it entered.

No one on Earth, other than Andres, noticed the entry or exit of the spacecraft, because of its communications masking advanced shields, protecting its identity and purpose.

Andres call to the local police station didn't convince anyone, other than suggestions to pay a visit to the local psychiatrist.

The spacecraft skipped Mars and entered Jupiter's atmosphere, almost stalling for few seconds before hurling towards its moon, Callisto.

Jupiter has four moons - Lo, Europa, Ganymede and Callisto. Callisto's surface is extremely heavily cratered and ancient from the early history of the Solar system.

It would be more apt to say that spacecraft crashed onto Callisto's surface, rather than landed, as the main cabin of the spacecraft, separated from its burning engines , skid to the edge of the crater.

The spacecraft had royal markings on its tail, written in an alien language, far away from Earth. The situation inside the spacecraft wasn't any better. It smelled of death and destruction, as if had been through some tough battles, before entering the Solar system.

Sia, the automated AI program, running the craft, looked at its lone survivor, slumped in the Captain's chair, waiting for the occupant to recover from the crash landing.

"Captain .. "

"Sia .. gimme a minute .." the captain spoke slowly, breathing heavily, trying to feel her legs and hands. She was already badly injured, prior to the crash landing.

After giving the captain few more minutes, Sia gave the sitrep of the situation, hinting at the impossible odds of survival in the present conditions.

"All life support systems are on reserve .. not lasting more than 1 to 2 hours. We should have landed on Earth." Sia concluded.

"No Sia .. the mission is more important than everything. Please activate the emergency SOS beacon as per my prior instructions for emergency protocol."

Sia punched a few buttons and an eerie sound started emnating from a device, that popped out of a secret hatch, located on the left side of the spacecraft.

"Captain, all emergency actions have been carried out successfully. Is there anything I can do to make you comfortable." Sia asked, looking the painful situation the captain was in.

"Thank you Sia for everything and your heroic service in this endeavor. You can take leave now and turn off everything and go to eternal sleep."

"Thank you captain, it was my pleasure to serve you." Sia spoke and then put herself to sleep, after shutting down her core processor and evaporating into the digital layers of the main computer, leaving the room in eerie silence.

There was no one else left on the dying spacecraft.

The captain breathed heavily, waiting patiently for her client - one particular individual, to deliver an important message and a package. The pain and bleeding were increasing with every passing minute, but she knew she had to hold onto life as long as possible.

The message and the package had to be delivered successfully, else the countdown clock for the Universe would start ticking.

The future of the universe depended on the success of this mission. She survived the battle to deliver the package and the message to the intended recipient and then she could die peacefully.

She looked at the clock as time was running out. She dipped her finger deep into her wound and started writing on the table with her finger dipped in her blood.

The SOS signal from the beacon on the spacecraft was meant for only one person. None of the Earth based receptors were capable of decoding the message, except for that one person.

Washington D.C

Tyson's Corner - Mercy International Global Headquarters

The sixty five story shiny glass building was gleaming brightly in the cloudless Friday morning sky as the Sun rays were beating down on the thick hardened laminated glass structure, trying hard to keep the heat out.

For any person on the street, and indeed, even as per the county records, the Mercy glass Headquarters, was only sixty towers tall. Anyone interested in counting the floors could count only sixty floors.

However the building was sixty five floors tall, with the last five floors invisible to the naked eye. You would need special powers or the right equipment to see the top five floors.

On the sixtieth floor soundproof boardroom, a bunch of suits were seriously arguing about the pros and cons of buying a rival entity in Vietnam. The returns would be enormous, but the risk and security situation had to be carefully analyzed, before going ahead with investment.

The chairman of the company, a handsome man, looking fiftyish, sat at the top of the table, listening to their arguments. He looked as if he was seriously considering the investment.

Infact his mind was elsewhere. He didn't care much about their arguments or reasoning. Money and fame weren't in his top ten list.. His interests were much different than the people around him, but he had to act to care, from time to time. For him, they were just articles of study, an experiment. The actual business decision regarding the investment didn't matter to him, as much as the process of getting there.

Something else has been bothering him since the last few hours. There was some disturbance in his surroundings. He could sense it, but couldn't place it. He had been thinking about it since morning.

"What is it? Did time dull my senses? Am I getting old" his mind deep dived trying to figure out the disturbance he was feeling.

Suddenly a sharp beeping sound came from the wristband, he was wearing. The sound was audible only to him. He pushed back his chair and pulled back his left hand shirt cuff slightly, to reveal a diamond studded wristband.

The wristband was invisible to others, and if people even knew about it, there would be many wars fought to claim it. It has many features and powers associated with it. There was a shiny centre diamond, surrounded by five other diamonds in a circle. Also the below edge had more smaller diamonds. Each one has a purpose.

One of the diamonds on the bottom edge of the band started glowing. He felt the sudden rush of blood in his body as it had been long time, since anyone activated a beacon, triggering the signal.

He got up immediately.

"Gentleman and ladies, I am sorry, I have to leave immediately to attend a personal emergency. Please continue your discussions and let me know your final decision later."

He exited the boardroom and entered his office on the same floor. He walked into the huge walking closet attached to his office and standing in the center of the closet, extended his right hand, palm down fully.

"Kiripto Nakhami" He shouted looking up.

Suddenly the roof opened up, revealing the top five secret floors. His body slowly levitated to the next floor.

There was a huge hangar with all kinds of advanced toys, including a spacecraft, waiting there. He climbed into it, giving out instructions to the autopilot, regarding the target coordinates.

With a silent boom the spacecraft lifted from the top of the building and rushed towards the Jupiter moons.

It didn't take him much time to locate the wrecked spacecraft and the SOS pinging beacon.

He broke into the burning spacecraft as all the doors were sealed. He started checking each room, one by one, and was shocked to see a number dead bodies of people laying around.

On closer examination he realized they died fighting, not because of the crash.

Finally he reached the captain's deck and noticed the captain injured and slumped over the chair.

He sat by her side and slowly lifted her face. She lost lot of blood and he could feel the paleness of death in her eyes.

She opened her eyes with much difficulty and immediately her eyes flickered with joy seeing him.

Her mission was successful.

She couldn't speak as life was slowly drifting away from her, but she showed him the message scribbled in blood and the location of package. She held his hand to her body to make sure he got the message.

"They are coming .. prepare for war .. you need the weapon .. check package .."

He looked at the scribbling wondering if he could get more details from her, but she went into a coma state.

There was also a sand hourglass showing him that time was running out.

"For what ?" He wondered looking around.

"These people have sacrificed a lot to deliver this message, so should be definitely important and serving greater purpose." He realized, trying hard to think who would want to wage a war with him.

"Ofcourse .. " he felt a cold chill pass through his body. Only he could have caused this mayhem, he looked around and realized the enemy and the destruction he could cause, not only to Earth, but the entire Universe.

But the weapon .. holy shit .. the sand hourglass was for the weapon. He looked at her and understood what he had to do to extract the weapon.

He started working furiously to extract the weapon, before time ran out.

To be continued ....

A/N: Hi all. This is an attempt to write a different kind of story, compared to my previous books. Hope you all will keep on encouraging me to finish this book like the previous ones. This is going to be very interesting and long story. Also I would have to do some research to keep the story real.

As usual this is first draft and you may see lot of mistakes. Please help me in correcting them and vote and comment as much as possible to keep me going. Love you all! Cheers!
