Sucky Days and Stupid People

Okay, he is either completely insane or....he is completely insane!

"What...?" I finally managed to get out, looking up a Connor's blue eyes. They made me remember my dream from this morning, but I pushed it away and into the corner of my mind. There were more important things going on right now.

"Look," he says, taking in a deep and shaky breath. "I probably sound like a lunatic."

You got that one right. Check that one off of the list.

"But it is a long story," he tells me, running his fingers through his hair. Connor lets out a sigh while his eyes flutter shut. "I want to tell you, b-but..."

"What's wrong?" I asked, making his eyes open at the sound of my voice. I could not imagine what was going through his head. Heck, I don't even know what is going through my head right now!

Connor opens his mouth to say something, but the school bell interrupts him. He looks around hastily before nodding his head at me and then running down the hall before I can even process what is going on.

I sigh as he runs down the hall and away from me. Turning in the opposite direction, I make my way towards my class and start thinking about what he said.

"I do not want to see you die," his voice rings throughout my head. The sadness and depression clearing being voiced.

My heart beat starts kicking up, and I start walking faster. Alright, let's think about something else. Of course the first thing that comes to mind is the dream from this morning.

I wasn't going to lie, it was the best dream I have had in a long time. It was never going to beat the dream I had about going on a date with Jesse McCartney when I was seven, but it was still up there.

The sensation that I felt when he touched my arm, was something that could make me melt. That was just from the dream version of Connor. Who knew what the real one could do. It made me all excited, yet nervous, at the same time.

Well today has just sucked even more than I thought it could.

With everything that has happened with Connor, on top of getting humiliated in front of the whole class, and then failing a Geometry test, I think I have had a pretty crappy day. Wondering about how I got humiliated in front of the whole class?

I walked into the classroom, minding my own business as I made my way towards my seat. Placing my books down on the desk, I swiftly went to go sit down into the chair.

Only to find out that it was not there anymore.

I landed on the ground with a huge thud, and the whole entire class just erupted in laughter. Even the teacher for Pete's sake!

Looking behind me, I saw that Britt had her foot wrapped around the legs of the chair. It didn't take a genius to realize that she had pulled the chair back when I went to sit down. I looked up at her and saw I devious smirk plastered across her face.

What did I do to her?

I reached out and yanked the chair forward, earning a yelp from her as he feet were yanked. As I sat down this time, I gave myself a minute to collect myself as I ran my fingers through my hair.

"That was just a warning," I heard Britt whisper in my ear. I freeze in my tracks as her warm breath his against my ear. "Stay away from my boyfriend."

I glanced towards the front of the classroom and saw Tyler laughing at something that one of the jocks had told him. He threw his head back in laughter and his Adam's apple was bobbing.

As weird and gross as that sounded, it was kind of hot.

"Don't look at him either!" she snapped at me, making me jump in my seat slightly.

I turned around in my seat and pointed a finger in her face. "I'm not interested in him at all, so chill out."

"I see the way you look at him," she shoots back at me, rolling her eyes. I mean of course I kind of liked Tyler because he was the only guy who was nice to me when I got here, but they left once I met Britt. "You like him."

"If you must know," I tell her, pointing a finger close to her face. "I have kissed his roommate, so you tell me who I really like."

She leans back into her seat and crosses her arms over her chest as she stares back at me. I turn back in my chair, realizing that the conversation was over.

So basically, that was what happened in class today. Tyler's girlfriend hates me, and the feeling is mutual. I have not seen Connor at all since this morning, and I was not in the mood to go out and look for him again. I just did not want to see anyone really.

This was the time that I really wanted to have a puppy. It would be great to go to my dorm and have a little puppy wag its tail at your sight and curl up in your lap and fall asleep.

Since I did not have a puppy, I thought of the next best thing.

"Oh, come on!" I groaned as I continued to make a clicking noise with my mouth. I paused and waited for something to happen, but came up with nothing.

I had gone to the lake and was trying to find that beaver that Tyler had showed me the other day. Seemed like the next best thing to a puppy. Although I was making no success in trying to make the animal come up to me.

"How did Tyler even do this?" I moan, throwing my head into my hands.

"How did Tyler do what?" I hear a familiar voice question from behind me. I turn around and see Tyler approaching me, and taking a seat next to me on the ground.

"Get the beaver to come up," I tell him. He gives me a light laugh before making the clicking noise from the other day. I watched the water as it rippled and then a brown creature came up to him.
Tyler reached out and rubbed the tip of his fingers across her head.

I reached out and started petting the back of the beaver and it started thumping its tail in response.

"What's up with you?" Tyler asked me, lying on his back and looking up at the sky.

"What isn't?" I sighed, lying down on my back, just like him.

"I heard that you and one of my roommates are seeming to hit it off," he tells me, turning his head to face me.

"Where did you here that from?" I asked, turning to face him as well. There were mere inches between our faces.

"Britt," he answers simply.

I tense up at the name of his awful girlfriend, and start wondering why they are dating. If she saw us right now, she would gut me with a spoon. Why the girl has it out for me, I'll never know.

"My money is on Connor," Tyler throws out there with a smile on his face. "You two have that flirt-hate relationship. I would say love, but you both just flirt."

"I don't want to talk about it," I told him blandly, looking back up at the sky. Memories from that day in front of the cafe and from this morning start rushing in.

"Wow, it was that bad?" he asks, as he runs his fingers though his hair. I don't say anything in response. "It was Connor, wasn't it?"

"If I answer you, can you stop asking questions?" I asked him, letting out a frustrated sigh.

"Maybe," he answers me, and I hear grass being shuffled next to me. The beaver comes next to me and sniffs my face, making me giggle. "She really likes you."

"Maybe it is because of that cheese danish," I told him as the beaver stopped sniffing my face and lying down next to me.

"So, was it Connor?" Tyler asks once again.

"Yes," I say, rather forcefully.

"Where was the kiss?" he asks me. What is this, twenty questions?

"How do you know if we kissed or not?" I ask, closing my eyes and try to relax.

"Britt told me you kissed one of my roommates," he answers me. Man, this girl is really starting to get on my nerves.

"You know, she was the reason why I feel on my butt today in class," I confess to him.

"It was?" he asks me, as I hear him sitting up, still keeping my eyes shut. "Why?"

I think about it for a moment of whether I should confess to him about what she had whispered to me this morning. If I told him, he would go scold her and then she would definitely make my life a living hell.

"I don't know," I reply, shaking my head against the cool grass. "But it sucked, being embarrassed like that."

"Don't be like that," Tyler tells me, making my eyes open suddenly. "It was just all in good fun."

I sit up and we both stare at each other. My insides are boiling at how he is defending his stupid piece of trash that he calls his girlfriend. If it would have happened to him, he would not be saying all of these things.

"I'll see you later," I murmured as I stood up, making the beaver next to me stir around and then run back into the water.

"Where are you going?" he questioned me as I was slinging my backpack over my shoulder and walking away from him. I ignored him and then our conversation was over.

I actually had no clue where I was going, but I was definitely done with having to deal with stupid people.

Stupid Connor, stupid Britt, stupid Tyler...

So what I have learned today is:

1. Stay away from Tyler

2. Never tell Tyler anything

3. I'm going to die somehow, thanks to Connor

and

4. Britt is a selfish jerk
