It was the day of the sports festival, a day where many friendships, hardships and rivalry were created. But on this day, three important and powerful fights erupted from today. There was Midoriya vs Todoroki, Todoroki vs Bakugou and (L/n) vs Monoma.
It was midday, it was raining and it was time for Neito Monoma to go against (Y/n) (L/n). Although (Y/n) has already used her quirk, but nobody really understands the concept of it.
Her quirk is called 'Interline': It allows her to transform into her spiritual familiar, and when she needs it the most it gets much more powerful. She can also inhabit some of her familiar's abilities.
Timeskip
You were ready for this, as the match began, you dodged the water aimed for your chest. 'That's probably the quirk he copied last.'
You thought.
As you kept on dodging, your (H/l) (H/c) hair flowing, you built a strategy. "I'm not going to lose against you." You stated after Neito started taking a breath. "As I expected from 1-A, what a bunch of high-headed losers."
You straightened your posture and your (E/c) eyes narrowed, slightly glowing a (F/c) hue. "Do you remember me asking you for your opinion? Me neither." You retorted, annoyed at how your love interest was so arrogant.
Neito kept quiet, he started throwing more and more attacks at you, and the rain was an advantage for him. You stuck your left hand out as the water stopped right before it. "Fuse, Ryū." As those words slipped from your mouth your body was replaced with a fierce-looking dragon.
You and your familiar were combined. You gave out a monstrous roar as you charged straight for Neito. As he ran, indistinct words left your snout. "Don't. Under-estimate. Me." You huffed as you hit him with your tail. He used the rain to soften his fall. The sand was now mud, and it left evidence of an ongoing battle.
You momentarily turned back, and looked him in his eyes. "Do you remember when I told I loved you?" His eyes widened at your statement. He scrambled to get up as your eyes started glowing again. "You told me I wasn't enough!" Your pupils turned into slits as horns sprouted from your forehead.
"AND WHY ARE YOU HOLDING THAT BACK?!" He shouted in desperation as he built up a large force of water. Claws and wings appeared on your body as you hit the attack straightforward. "Do you know why I started crying back then? Because I wanted your love so badly."
You took the form of your familiar once more. You opened your mouth set with sharp teeth, and fire blasted through. "But in the end, who wins? Fire or water?" You questioned. The aching of your heart was like the beating of an old drum. It was tired, it was cold and it was unwilling to learn everything over again.
You finally repented, you turned back and fell to the ground as tears left your eyes. Everytime you cried it reminded you of how you, a flame, could never win against Neito, a river. Neito spread water around the both of you to stop the flames. "Water." He said weakly, as he stood there, realising his mistake.
"Sometimes, we don't realise we lose a diamond while picking up pebbles."
He found, you were his diamond. He kneeled down and lifted you head. This time he looked into your eyes, he laid a soft kiss on your forehead. He gave you a rare, reassuring smile. Then he stood up and shouted.
"I forfeit..."
