Soulmate AU where the first thing your soulmate says to you is written on the back of your hand, and when they say it, the ink changes from black to red.

Ever since you were young, you've been extremely clumsy. Of course, part of this was intentional. You could probably fix it, as you are very talented at making things thanks to your quirk. If you wanted to, you could make shoes that balance you, or other similar things, but why would you do that? After all, your soulmate's first words to you are "You should be more careful."

The easiest way to get people to say that is to, well, not be careful. Still, after years and years of tripping, falling, and bumping into people, you had no luck. Even during some of the busiest weeks of the school year you couldn't find them. It was almost time for the school cultural festival, and you were bumping into more people than ever. These weren't even on purpose! Still, not once did the ink on your hand change colour.

"Hey, Y/N! Can you go help out 1B with their play prep? They need someone to help them make props." Mei, your best friend asks. In the support department, everyone who was finished prepping their inventions was helping the other classes with their preparations.

"Sure thing." You reply. You stand up from the metal you were messing around with using your quirk, and head to exit the room.

"Here, wait! You'll need this, too." Mei jogs over and hands you a box of metal.

"What are they even doing a play on??" You ask.

"Who knows. It sounds like they couldn't decide on a topic, and just mashed all of their ideas together."

"Yikes. Hopefully they know what they're doing." With that you head towards where class 1B is preparing.

       Timeskip to a few minutes later...

Ah there they are! You hurry through the crowded students, and finally arrive. You recognize Tetsutetsu from the sports festival and make your way over. He's talking to a blond boy wearing a crappy knight costume, and when they see you coming, they stop talking.

Just as you open you mouth to introduce yourself, you slip on a fake shield laying on the ground. With a yelp you fall backwards and drop the box of metal.

Before you can hit the ground however, a strong pair of arms catch you. The blond boy has you in a dip, and you feel you face flush with how close he is.

"You should be more careful," He chuckles. "If I hadn't saved you, you could have gotten hurt."

You gasp as you notice the ink on your hand fade to red. "Oops... I guess I fell for you." You giggle and show him your hand.

He almost drops you in surprise. Then he laughs. Standing up properly, your soulmate introduces himself.

"I'm Monoma Neito, your knight in shining armour." He jokingly bows.

You laugh and say, "And I'm Y/n, your blacksmith here to help. It's a pleasure to meet you, my knight." You jokingly bow back.

"Good, my skin is more accurate than that crappy knight costume." Tetsutetsu laughs. "Congrats though, bro! I was starting to think you already scared off your soulmate!" The two of you chuckle as Monoma's face goes more red.

"H-Hey! Shut it metal head it's not like you've found yours yet! I beat you!" Monoma shoots back.

You giggle at his reaction and reach down to pick up all of the metal you had dropped. "So that's why Mei said to bring all of this!"

"What? No! My costume is fine! It's for a prop!" Monoma stammers.

Stepping towards him, you take his hands in yours. "Please let me make you a better costume, Monoma. I'll make the prop too, but please let me fix that thing!"

Flustered with how close you are, he gives in. "Fine. But only because you're pretty and my soulmate." You smile up at him, and give him a peck on the cheek. If you thought his face was red before you were mistaken.

"Good, now what's this prop I need to make?"

Once you finish making the prop, you grab Monoma's hand. "Alright~ I'm going to steal Monoma for a bit, and when he comes back he'll look brand new!"

"You can keep him!" One of the boys jokes.

"I might just do that~!" You laugh as you drag Monoma away towards your workshop.

"Where are we going?" Monoma asks.

"Back to my work space, but we'll need to stop by the supplies room for the materials first!" You smile.

"Is it really that bad?" He asks.

"I just met you, and this is already my least favourite outfit of yours." You laugh.

"But it's also they only one you've seen me wear, so technically it's also your favourite." He smirks at you as you fiddle with the door.

"Well it looks like I'll have to make you a fantastic costume then, hm?" You continue struggling with the door. "Where's my key?? Ah I must have forgotten it. Oh well." Pulling a scrap piece of metal out of your pocket, you shape it to fit the key hole. The door pops open and you enter.

"Do you do this often? Break into locked rooms? Or just forge keys?" He raises an eyebrow at you in a joking manner.

"Nope~ The only other one is right here~"

"You just gestured at yourself?"

"Yep~ The key to your heart~!" You laugh.

"Do you always make so many bad pick up lines?"

"You should have caught me from falling earlier~ I've had years to research pick up lines!" You turn away and find what you're looking for.

"Perfect! See? Isn't this metal much prettier than that stuff?" You hold it up to compare the two.

"The only pretty thing I see is my reflection in the metal," He smirks. "Oh, and you~"

You blush and laugh. "C'mon let's get to the workshop, so I can get you out of that horrible costume!"

"So forward, Y/n!"

"Oh shut up! I didn't mean it like that!"

"Sure, sure. Don't worry, I know it's hard to resist this body~!"

"You're right~" You lean in and kiss him. Stunned, Monoma starts jumbling up his words and can't form a proper sentence. Hearing this makes you giggle, and you drag him back to your workshop to fix his costume.
