💥💥💥💥

The portal [____] travelled from dispersed a hefty amount of gamma-like rays; Katsuki's final explosion fed from the radioactivity and detonated the last intense boom on the arena.

This was the so called 'heat wave' Kumiko had been preparing herself for. Thankfully, how she predicted as well, almost no one got hurt.

Whoever was close enough to see the accident unfold had to feel the high surface temperature rise before they ducked under any close bleachers or buildings (if they were next to a door.)

In a way, it looked beautiful. A bright orange dandelion that bursted like a star and merged with the grey sky.

Todoroki acted quick enough to create an ice fort for him and Midoriya, but was too blinded by the vapor to see what exactly had fallen from the sky.

Downpour followed, clearing out most of the smoke and Katsuki regained enough energy to get up and catch a glimpse of the wingless angel that was expelled from heaven.

He wasn't able to see much, thanks to all the teachers and camera men (who's cameras stopped working thanks to the radioactivity) surrounding her body in every way possible; and there wasn't much to hear, because of the ear-splitting effect that came after.

More than ninety percent of the people hurtling around were suffering from major hearing loss; some got better after a few moments, others had to get it checked out by nurses and paramedics that were called on the grounds later on.

Katsuki's right eye was hurt by him hitting his face on the pavement when he was pushed back from the unbearable force of magnetic waves. He could see perfectly fine regardless, even managed to perceive a pair of disturbingly bloody and charred legs a few feet away from him before having his view blocked by [____]'s grandmother.

She was wearing sunglasses, so he couldn't tell what part of him she was glaring at, exactly. The words she spoke did not cause any vibrations onto his body; but he had always been amazing at reading others' mouths.

He felt as if an invisible rope was being tied around his chest, tightening and squeezing his ribs when she smirked at him.

"I told you this would happen."

🌸🌸🌸🌸

The aftermath was not as grievous as the media had first reported it to be; at least for the adults and protected students who remained safe inside of the cafeteria section of the building. Since the channel was interrupted once again, it was hard to tame all of the panicked viewers.

It took not more than two hours, but in the end Principal Nezu and his teachers were able to contact the hero-course students' terrified parents to let them know everything was under control and that nobody but (unfortunately) [____] was hurt. However, they made sure to say she was still alive and had come back already unconscious.

Kumiko asked Kaito to help her schedule a press-conference so the media could ask all of their questions 'til their hearts content for the following weekend. She also asked of him to arrange two flower bouquets by the end of the day.

One with red and burgundy roses, proteas, and orange blossoms. Pontentillas and pink carnations in the other.

In the meantime; [____] was immediately taken to the nearest medical center to examine her injuries. Nobody but family would be able to visit her, since she was put in a necessary medically induced coma for the next few days to ensure there would be no traumatic brain damage while being treated.

🌸DAY 1 (still the same day) — follow up🌸

Himeko Amachi arrived a little too late to the scenery; about ten minutes after her only daughter was transported by paramedics to Musutafu's general hospital, being careful to not let any of her classmates see her as her grandmother had requested.

[____]'s mom used an invisible portal to enter the building without letting any reporters question her suspicious outfit that consisted of a large, heavy grey hoodie to hide all of her hair and most of her face and of course, the dark sunglasses. Inside the establishment there was no one, but she could hear some kind of commotion coming from the hallway.

She power-walked there and then stumbled upon a couple of police officers who were blocking the entrance of the cafeteria, acting like security.

"Stop right there, ma'am. You cannot enter, there were signs of radioactivity in the arena, we are trying to figure out whether or not the place is safe for others who were not directly hit by it. Nobody can go in or out until we get word that everything is clear."

"I need to see my daughter—" Himeko pleaded at first. "My baby. She disappeared out there and I'm hearing people say that she's back!? I need to see her!!"

The men were skeptical; they questioned if she was really the world-famous model at first. She had to reveal her face and hair for them to believe her— long, snow white with pale pink roots in color and glistening bright red eyes, somehow alluring.

Himeko Amachi was truly a bewitching individual; Even with the damp traces of tears on her reddening cheeks, she looked so very lovely. She was definitely [____]'s mother, alright.

It actually made one of the cops blush; and that was when the other cave in, but not quite enough to break the rules. "Do you need a tissue? I think I have a handkerchief with me, somewhere..."

Both of the officers searched their pockets in a hurry, as if they were competing against each other for jewels and other riches. Himeko didn't intend to stall them like this, but it's what happened and she knew that it was the perfect time for her to walk into the room using her quirk.

Another invisible portal led her to the inside of the cafeteria, where most of U.A's hero course occupied it for the time being. Minoru was the first person to recognize her, as well as the first person to get a nosebleed and faint in front of the rest.

"Himeko Amachi?!" Mina asked, believing that her sight was messing with her. Her frown became an instant smile upon meeting the woman she claimed to idolize. "It really is you!"

Like the scene from Toy Story, the students surrounded her in fascination and curiosity. [____]'s mother was great at fan service, but when her fans were under the legal age of drinking and smoking in Japan, she felt compelled to stay back and awkwardly ask them, "...Are any of you [____]-chan's friends?"

Mina was the only one who raised both of her arms up high; Kaminari and Sero said 'me!' and Kirishima went with, 'she's my bro!'

"Aheheh...So many..." Mrs. Amachi spoke a little bit softer. "Could any of you explain to me what happened, exactly?"

"I can." The teacher left in charge of the two classes chimed in— it was Nemuri, who was around ten years younger than Himeko and way shocked at how youthful she looked. "Let me speak with you some place private. I also have some questions for you..."

She guided her outside the cafeteria once she asked the students to be on their best behavior for a few minutes and also to have someone check up on Mineta's health.

When pro-hero Midnight was finally alone with [____]'s mom, she fangirled. Not a lot, but enough to have Himeko give her some sacred skin care tips.

💥💥💥💥

Mitsuki and Masaru were both checked by medical professionals to see if they had endured any injuries, along with the rest of the audience. Thankfully they were fine, nothing serious at all and so they were allowed to rush to their son, who was in the middle of having Recovery Girl, herself, bandage some light wounds after kissing them.

"Katsu!!" His mother called on to him worriedly. "Katsuki, are you alright?!"

"Son, everything is gonna be fine." Masaru was on full-blown dad-mode. For him, it meant that he had to keep repeating words of solace to his only child. "Do not panic, nobody was hurt. This was not your fault, I—"

"— I think otherwise." Behind the couple, the older woman stood tall and confident. She introduced herself as [____]'s grandmother, one of U.A's advisors and a sponsor, as well accepted a tiny bit of Mr. & Mrs. Bakugo's sympathy for Katsuki's classmate.

"Wait a sec.." Mitsuki didn't catch on to the words she first shared with them; She was too focused on making sure her son wasn't hit on the head because he kept his mouth shut, even as his school nurse finished and left them to kiss Midoriya's minor injuries. "Katsu, is your tongue okay??"

"Maybe you didn't listen when I said that I believe it is your son who is at fault for this." Kumiko interrupted the moment. "I had warned your son that something like this might happen if he did not listen to my advise. So I will take the rest of these matters on my own; pay for the damages and protect him from the media at no financial charge.

In exchange, though, I ask for him to keep a distance from my granddaughter. If you agree, I will have my lawyer call yours immediately to sign this agreement."

Katsuki finally spoke up, annoyed of her bullshit. "Fuck you, grams!!"

"Excuse me?!" Mitsuki displayed the same amount of anger as her son for a split second, then composed herself as her dear husband was requesting. "I don't know what exactly you are trying to negotiate with us. I know my son would never hurt [____] on purpose.

And what happened... with his quirk, there is no way Katsuki would detonate such an explosion without something heightening it—"

"— What I want to negotiate is a restraining order of six full months. We can do this the legal way, or I can take your word on it if I find you trustworthy enough." [____]'s grandmother didn't let Mitsuki finish talking. "Make no mistake with my tone of voice— I am far more than furious, and I will sue your family down to the every last cent you two own if you do not keep your son away from my granddaughter from now on. It was his explosions that caused an emergency trauma on my strawberry's body, after all."

"Listen, old lady—"

"Honey; lets breathe this out, please." Masaru was in fact more in sync with the situation than she was, he pulled her aside and asked her to remember the anger management lessons she took back in college. "I know this person is making you upset, but we have to think about Katsuki's future. We have to put our son first, just like she is doing with her granddaughter."

"I know but what in the world is she talking about?!" His wife yelled in a whisper to not cause even more of a scene. "She warned him of what?! Why is Katsu so quiet around this woman?! I would beat her ass if she wasn't so old!! I respect my elders but goddamn, she pisses me off!!"

"Shh, honey, I know." Masaru pulled her into a soft hug, wondering if there was anyway he could show her that she was his everything; & how he didn't want his everything to fight a senior citizen in front of many witnesses. "I know you can calm yourself down..."

While his parents spoke privately, Katsuki eyed the old woman one more time within that week. "You wretched, evil wench."

Kumiko's left eye felt a slight twitch. "Now...Why would you call me that?"

"You knew she would be back. You planned this shit, the time, the location, everything. It's why you so desperately wanted me to fight again. You're making it seem like I wanted to hurt her, in reality it's you who did this to [____]."

The very first time Kumiko had heard the boy call her granddaughter by her name; it let her know there indeed was some sort of respect between those two, after all. Even if he didn't make it obvious before.

"You're gonna pay for the shit you've done." He continued to threaten. "You wanna play some sort of game with [____]'s life, but I'm telling you right now that she's going to end up with me, regardless if I see her for six months or not. Remember that, grams...there's nothing you can do to stop me from gettin' what I want."

🌸🌸🌸🌸

It was verbally agreed between the three adults, then; that Mitsuki and Masaru Bakugo would keep their son grounded and away from [____] until they hear the news that she is all better and able to come back to school. They did not promise, however, to ensure he would never speak with her like how [____]'s grandmother wanted it at first.

Kumiko would pay for the damages in return, and tell the reporters it was all a mistake, an unexpected incident that not even she could foretell. Katsuki was not at fault, and [____] was surely not dead or involved with any villainous activities.

The crew of investigators and police concluded that it was safe for everyone to leave the arena once the surge of radioactivity had subsided another hour later, and that was when Kumiko walked alongside Kaito towards the cafeteria to say a few words to [____]'s teachers before going back to the fancy hotel room she had rented for the week.

It was then when she came face to face with her daughter, after three or so years of not seeing her, nor hearing from her. "Raspberry?!"

Himeko was still having a chat with Nemuri regarding her new work-out routine and diet; She froze up completely after hearing her mother's voice and then zipped up her jacket in an attempt to hide her stomach; but it was too late for such thing.

"Mother— What happened?! Where's my baby?!"

With both knees folded but only one touching the ground, Kaito paid respects to his employer in a rush.

"She's in the hospital. We can head there right now, but first...How long were you planning on keeping this a secret from me, Himeko?! You're pregnant!!"

💥💥💥💥

The hero course was able to go home after the incident; it was close to three in the afternoon by then, anyway. Masaru was driving his family back home using Mitsuki's car since she was still pretty pissed off about meeting Kumiko and hearing her trash-talk her beloved son.

"I can't believe your shitty explosions caused electromagnetic waves out there, Katsuki!! What were you thinking?! Endangering your teachers and your classmates like this?! You're more than grounded, mister!!"

"Do you really believe I'm able to pull some stunt like that by myself, hah?! It was obviously cheeks' portals that enhanced my attacks— Even then, I had no fucking idea she would appear like that, out of nowhere. So, eat shit old hag!!"

Mitsuki gasped at his tone of voice and then unhooked her seat belt to have a better grip and tried to strangle her son. "YOU EAT SHIT, YOU BRAT!! YOU THINK YOU CAN TALK TO ME LIKE THAT AND LIVE?! I'LL MURDER YOU!!"

"Mitsuki, Katsuki, please tone it down!! Honey, put your seat belt back on— We might get pulled over!" Masaru was having a hard time keeping his eyes on the road when his wife and son acted this cruel to one another.

He pleaded three or seventeen more times until they finally listened to him. Katsuki's hair was a mess and Mitsuki got by without a scratch, because as much as he insulted her he knew better than to lay a finger on his mother. "I feel a lot better now..Katsu, I'm sorry I blamed it on you. It's obvious it wasn't your fault."

"Shit apology." He replied, lower than usual. He was keeping his view on the tinted closed car window on his right, watching residencies fly past them until they reached their own home.

"What did you say to me?!" Mitsuki was ready to go for round two; she even unhooked her belt once again if it wasn't that she caught a hold of the saddened look on his face.

'It's been a while since he cried in front of us.' She thought, and although her son wasn't shedding any tears or even sniffing every now and then to show her he was upset; it was very clear that he was.

🌸🌸🌸🌸

Hideaki drove his employer and her bossy mother to the hospital around four-twenty one pm, using one of Kumiko's owned vehicles in Japan, a classic model of a Toyota century.

As the oldest woman had requested, he stopped by a convenience store to fill up her car with gas and purchase four tall bottles of water for them to drink, since she knew they were going to be together for one long, anxious night.

"Any thoughts on why you shouldn't tell your own mother that you're baring another child?" Kumiko waited for the young butler to leave the car and finally have some alone time with Himeko to speak with her. "I worry for your health."

"I don't need you to worry for me anymore, mother. I'm an adult and I am doing perfectly fine on my own, as you can tell." Himeko acted like a teenager whenever she shared the same air as her bossy parent.

It was obvious why, as well. The older woman took her words as a joke. "You planned for leave your own daughter unattended in Japan for god-knows how many months— My strawberry is emotionally suffering because of the lack of attention you and that dumb moose you call a husband give her!"

"[____] is—!" She wanted to finish that sentence, but knew she couldn't say her daughter was fine, really, considering the outcome of her unstable quirk. "...I may have underestimated her power, sure. But I was so very hesitant to leave her behind...She was the one who suggested to let her finish her studies in Japan, and she made some pretty good points about it."

"What points can a 15-year old girl give you to convince you it is a proper thing to leave her on her own to fly off to a modeling-tour while carrying her sibling?!

You even took the sad excuse of a father with you, leaving her truly alone! You really think butlers and maids can take the place of her parents?! Himeko, are you out of your mind?! I never raised you like this!!"

"Aaaah— I don't need your lectures!! I heard enough of them since childhood!" [____]'s mom argued back. "[____] is old enough to tell me what she wants, mother. I want her to model, but I know better than to decide for her! She is honest with me, and she was tired of moving every half a school year! She deserves to have the say in her life, I won't be as controlling as you were with me, I refuse to turn into a copy of you!"

"Shaping your daughter to fit the role of a proper hero is far away from controlling. I only did my best with you. Unlike what you're doing with her."

"The greatest thing you've done for me is staying away from my family for years after [____] was born." The bleach-white haired woman spoke with resentment. "...She doesn't need you in her life if all you're gonna do is measure every aspect of it and manipulate her. Please leave us alone."

Kumiko was at a loss for words; Not only that but the young butler was already back outside, nearing the car and getting ready to use the gasoline pump. She drew a deep breath and asked, "....Do you know the gender, yet?"

"No."

"How far along are you?"

"Three months."

They watched Kaito struggle a little bit to place the long plastic pipe back in its place once he was done. Kumiko tried to touch her daughter's hand, but she pulled away. "You know...You will have to forgive me someday, because I am not leaving."

"What are you talking about?"

"I plan to stay in Japan until my strawberry graduates. I'd love to see her walk through the right path of heroism, something you could of done at her age, but didn't."

"That is not going to happen." Himeko shook her head a few times. "I don't know what interests you have with [____], it's clear you never cared about her until now—"

"Why do you say such a horrible thing?"

"Cut the crap, mom." She insisted. "You wanted me to— No, you begged me to have an abortion when you found out I was pregnant the first time.

For years, I've tried to figure out ways to get you off my back. Who would of known, conceiving a child had been the answer all along. I would of gotten pregnant sooner—"

"— I only disapproved of it because the man you married is a worthless being, who had no right stealing you away from Enji Todoroki."

Himeko groaned, annoyed to be hearing that name after years had passed by. "You're still on that?! I never wanted to marry that man!! Neither did he, he never once liked me, mother!! Can't you see?! You dislike Manato so much because he wasn't in any of the futures you've unfolded for me.

To you, he appeared out of nowhere and gave me empty promises to sway me, but that's not what it is. I knew from the moment I saw him that I wanted to marry that man; and I created my own future with him. That made you mad, that you had no part— no control of it.

[____]'s father is not a bad person. You'd see that if you weren't so caught up with your own selfishness! So tell me the truth, already. Why are you suddenly worried for [____], when before, you couldn't even bare to see her as an infant?!"

It was right then when Kaito opened the door of the car and politely let Kumiko know he will leave the water bottles in the empty front seat, next to him. "Anything else I could do for you, ladies, before I drive off?"

Kumiko said no, but her daughter was determined to get an answer as soon as possible so she asked him to go back to the convenience store, inside her head, and purchase a small tub of fruit sorbet since she was craving something cold.

"As you wish, Miss Himeko." Kaito went back outside without any complaints;

Then she asked her mother one more time. "Why are you acting like her grandmother, all of a sudden?"

"You think I never did anything for her, before? I always called her on her birthday, I've sent her letters congratulating her achievements as well. Did you ever get a chance to read those? I put so much effort on letting her know I cared."

"Bullshit. You probably paid someone off to write those for you."

"It is the thought that counts. I still called her."

"No, it isn't!" Himeko wanted to shake her mother in that moment; she figured, maybe, if she did it hard enough she would randomly combust and turn into ashes.

A pained and violent thought, but not as sad as the fact that she was willing to give it a try. "You don't have the slightest idea on how to be a caring person! [____] disappeared today because of her quirk; you were there to witness it and instead of calling me— Her mother, you went out there and pulled a small press conference about it. I had to hear it from Manato's phone to find out!!

I rushed out of Algeria using portals; I haven't travelled through them in a while, so I had to take plenty of stops. In the middle of Nepal, I purchased this ugly sweater and sunglasses to hide my identity, as well as a map to direct me back to Tokyo and a charger for my cell phone, because all that traveling drained its battery!"

"Yes, I was surprised to hear you were coming when you called that eyecandy you hired as a butler." Kumiko sat there and listened to her daughter have a small emotional breakdown. Perhaps it was the early pregnancy hormones, or the fact that her first born daughter was in a hospital-cot, suffering from injuries not even she wanted to think about.

After two minutes of light sobs, Himeko got a hold of herself all on her own. "...I rather have chocolate ice cream." She told her mother, and then the butler hopped back inside the car.

As if he knew it all along, he handed his employer a small tub of the chocolate-fudge frozen treat as well as a couple of napkins and a dark plastic spoon for her to use. "There were no sorbet flavors available, so I got this instead, please forgive me."

"That's okay...Thanks." With the white part of her eyes light pink from suddenly crying, she gave Kaito a warm smile and it was enough to keep him fueled up for the rest of the night.
