🌸DAY 10 — stray cat🌸
Saturday at around six am; when he had just woken up, Izuku asked Hitoshi if he had time to meet him and Katsuki at a park through text— one that was the closest to Kacchan's home.
Shinso was sold to the idea that Midoriya only wanted to give him the history notes he had asked for a few days ago; So he agreed, not questioning why Bakugo was tagging along.
It was at around 7:03 in the morning when [____]'s best childhood friend reached the front of the blond guy's home and wondered if he should knock or text Kacchan to open the door for him. He didn't bring a backpack with him(like he usually did) on this occasion.
So there was nothing solid for him to protect his face in case Kacchan woke up in a bad mood; All he had with him was a campus notebook to give his other friend. He couldn't let Katsuki burn that.
Fortunately at this time, Mitsuki Bakugo was near the entrance as well; opposite side of Midoriya. She had just finished getting ready for a meeting regarding work. She removed her house slippers and traded them for black stilettos before opening the door to her house.
"Honey— I'm leaving!! Keep and eye on the brat for me. I love you—! Oh?"
It had been years since Mitsuki had seen the timid green haired kid in person. Izuku bowed his head multiple times per second to show her respect. "H-Hi! Goodmorning, Kacchan's mom! Is Kacchan home, at this time?!"
"He is, but he's grounded. He cannot leave this house unless I demand him to. Is something the matter?" The mother knew that there was; her only son hadn't brought Izuku over in years.
It was during Katsuki's middle school entrance ceremony when she believed that their friendship had officially ended since she recalled asking him to say hi to Izuku and his mother, and that was the first time she heard him call Izuku a 'shitty nerd.'
Of course; this was also around the time her son was acting out with everybody he came in contact with— So at the time, she did what a mother should do to discipline their children and kicked her son in the ribs— but lovingly, so that he knew who was in charge in their household.
"I haven't seen you since you were this tiny!" Mitsuki forgot all about her sweet memories with Katsuki and ruffled Izuku's soft green hair for two seconds. She over exaggerated and pinched one of her index fingers with her thumb.
She then pulled out her cell phone from her small black purse, excited to know how Inko Midoriya was doing. "How is your mommy? I haven't heard from her in about a month!"
"M-My mom is doing gr-great! Thanks for asking!!"
"I'll give her a call soon." Bakugo's mom smiled at her own idea. "Maybe she'd like to go to brunch with me, next weekend!"
"Yeah, she would like that!" The guy cared for his mother a lot. She was always alone at home, so sometimes he felt bad about leaving her behind..Even if it was just for school. "Ple-Please take good care of her, when you see her!!"
"Hahahah, you haven't changed; you're still Inko's sweet kid...Hey, for today...Maybe it's fine if I send Katsu to run some errands for me."
💥💥💥💥
'Kacchan's parents are always so nice...' Izuku gained permission to walk into their home after that little encounter.
Masaru Bakugo was sitting on an office chair near the dining area. There was a dark-colored writing desk there in the very corner of the room, where his laptop screen showcased a series of documents he was working on.
He got up to greet Katsuki's old childhood friend and offered him a drink or a snack since his wife had rushed out of there soon after. Izuku declined, but they shared a brief conversation as Bakugo's kind dad wrote down a grocery list for the boys to take with them, on behalf of his wife's request.
'I don't know how Kacchan turned out to be so....Kacchan, compared to them.' Midoriya cleared his throat and held on tight to the notebook as he began walking upstairs.
"That's why— I'm telling you to give the phone to somebody who could fucking fix this!!" Although his bedroom door was fully closed, Katsuki's voice could still be audible, even from downstairs actually, but his father was used to it by now.
It became much louder soon after. "LISTEN, IT AIN'T MY FAULT YOU SUCK ASS AT YOUR JOB!! I WANT MY MOTHERFUCKING REFUND!!"
"Kacchan! I'm here.." Deku didn't know when it was a good time to mention it through the other side of his door; but he knew there wasn't much time to waste since Shinso was going to be at the park very soon. "Are you yelling at a poor employee through the phone?!"
He asked that when Katsuki opened the entrance of his room to let him in, but he ignored him completely and went back to speaking with a restaurant's general manager.
"Sir, I am afraid there is a cancelling fee when it's close to the booking date." The man on the line repeated to him. "You should have read our guidelines when you purchased—"
"SOMEBODY SHOULD OF MENTIONED IT!! I BOUGHT THAT SHIT THROUGH THE PHONE— THERE WAS NO FINE PRINT TO READ, YOU FUCKER!!"
"Do not raise your voice at me, sir, the fee is only to ensure our waiters are tipped properly—"
"Ask me if I give a flying fuck about that—" Katsuki lowered his tone since Izuku looked like he was getting ready to leave and come back another time. He snapped his fingers at the guy to catch his attention, then pointed at his bed to demand him to sit down and not go anywhere.
Izuku obeyed without a question, so he went back to arguing with this person. "Look— I'd be fine if the cancelling fee wasn't OVER FIFTY PERCENT OF THE BOOKING PRICE. What kind of shit is that?!"
"It is not my issue if the worker who took your card through the line did not repeat our guidelines to you. We do not give refunds for cancellation fees and that is the end of it, sir."
"Then I hope you don't have some shitty insurance beCAUSE I'M ABOUT TO BURN YOUR FUCKING BUSINESS DOWN TO THE PITS OF HELL IF YOU DONT GIVE ME BACK MY FUCKING MONEY!!"
"That is it. I will guide your call through corporate, and then we could—"
"— No. You're staying on the line with me until you give me back at least half of the amount you charged my old man's credit card."
"Sir, I am not going to go over this with you again. I am going to forward your call to corporate, whether you like it or not—"
"—Oh yeah?! Forward this, you piece of dick!!" He flicked off his own phone, as if the manager could see it. "KEEP MY MONEY THEN AND EAT IT THROUGH YOUR ASS!! Fuck you."
When that traumatizing moment was finally over, Izuku hoped that it wasn't his turn to get yelled at for asking; "What was the problem, Kacchan..?"
To his surprise, Kacchan was able to explain everything without insulting him. Not so much for those workers, though. "I've been trying to cancel reservations I made to this dumbass restaurant near Shibuya city for the last four days; they kept putting me on hold and telling me to leave a voicemail each time so they could get back to me and just now, when I was finally able to get a hold of them to cancel, they're telling me there's a stupid cancellation fee of 15,000 yen because it's the same, exact fucking day I chose to reserve the table.
Like it's my fault they didn't call me back in the first place. Fucking headache I got from dealing with this bullshit...I swear...I'm never stepping into Shibuya ever again..." He let out a sigh, the breath he exhaled contained most of his anger. "So? What did the old hag say to you, Deku?"
Izuku perked his posture up; the entire time he was half listening and half staring off into Katsuki's room. "Eh?! U-Uh..You mean your mom, Kacchan..?"
"Was she happy to see you?!"
"I—! I wouldn't know! I mean, maybe? ...She asked your dad to give you this." Deku opened his notebook to remove the list Masaru had given him before journeying his way to Kacchan's room.
The blond snatched it from his hands and glanced at the small, clean handwriting his father shared with him. "...She wants me to get all this shit for the house?! Why can't she ask the old fart, instead?! He's the one with the fucking car!!"
"Y-Your dad said it's her way of letting you hang out with me, today..."
"I knew that." Bakugo clicked his tongue; though it was apparent to Midoriya for a moment that, in fact, he did not know it. "Wait here, nerd. I'm gonna take a quick shower first."
"O..k, but Kacchan! The person who is going to help us today— He's probably already waiting for us at the spot we agreed so don't take long!" Izuku requested as his friend left the room without saying anything else. "...I don't like making others wait..."
💚💜💚💜
Izuku continued to sit still on the well-made bed for another minute; Making sure the coast was clear for him to grab his phone and dial up Hitoshi. It was surprising to him that the guy picked up his phone on the first ring. "Hey, Shinso..It's me— Are you at the park already? Listen, We might be getting there a bit later. Kacchan is taking a shower right now."
"That's alright, Midoriya. Just text me when you two are there." When Deku asked him if he even left his house, he answered; "I live two streets away from the park. I can get there in a minute or so, so no."
"Okay. I'll call you when we're nearby, then." Izuku replied, hanging up and exhaling a little louder than usual. "I was worried for no reason, it seems like..."
🌸💚🌸💚
While he was in Katsuki's room all alone, he figured it was a good time to take a look at what his child hood best friend was into, these days. Unlike his entire own bedroom; Katsuki kept only a small spot on his bookcase dedicated to the hero he looked up to as a child, All Might.
Izuku compared the figures he had of him to his own from afar, at first. Though, it was All Might. He had to get up and look closer to inspect their condition and everything.
He didn't touch a single item, but he voiced the observation to himself. "This is the same figure I got at a hero con, two years ago. Does that mean Kacchan was there, on those days, too? There was a limited amount; only way I got a hold of one was because I camped out a night before. There was a line, and I don't remember seeing Kacchan. Maybe he bought it online?
Then, that would mean he spent a lot of money on it. Resellers these days can really make more than twice the amount it should normally cost—"
A notification sound coming from the phone on Katsuki's study desk startled the muttering boy. He walked towards it, it had a transparent plastic covering and a rather cute dog plushie hanging by the side of the case. "Could this be Amacchan's phone...?"
He hesitated to grab it; He wasn't the kind to just touch others' personal items without permission; but the fluffy white puppy really caught his attention. He did not intend to peek at [____]'s wallpaper, but the phone was fully charged so the screen lit up when he brought the electronic and exposed it anyway.
Izuku shut his eyes closed immediately, then slowly opened them again after realizing that what he saw wasn't anything personal. In fact, it was just a photo of some galaxy, as if the phone had not been messed with at all.
Alerts of 23 missed calls and 47 unread texts from him and others were displayed on the screen. "This means Kacchan hasn't unlocked it, yet...Maybe she just bought this phone..It could also be that she liked the original wallpaper so much, she didn't want to change it..."
He found that odd, then took his time to study the plushie he was mostly interested by; "Amacchan really enjoys cute things like these...I've known that since we were kids but for some reason...Now, that we're older, I think a girl like her can be very... ...Aah, why am I saying this out loud?!"
'Amacchan likes Kacchan.' He said it to himself just once before Katsuki's voice frightened the freckles out of him.
"Invasion of privacy much, nerd?"
"Kacchan!" Deku was about to drop the phone; if it wasn't that he caught it by the fluffy phone strap. "It's not what it looks like!! Amacchan's phone— It made a sound, you s-see!"
"See what? All I see is you being a stalker." Bakugo's light colored hair was down, since it was more than damp. Drops of water still falling from the wet tips. He had a blue hand-sized towel sitting on top of his head, that he was going to obviously use to finish drying his hair with.
He was wearing black jeans, though they were a bit saggy, since he hadn't brought a belt with him to the bathroom. Or a shirt— Katsuki was topless, but Izuku didn't give any sort of reaction, given that they shared a locker with each other and the rest of the male students in class A.
Even then, they never really have the time or energy to check out each other's muscles and compared them to their own, unless they're talking to Kirishima.
"N-No, Kacchan! I wasn't looking at anything other than the accessory, I swear!"
Bakugo opened his closet door to find a shirt to wear; then tossed it on to his bed and started drying his hair before putting it on. "Whatever. She has nothing good in there, anyway."
"Y-You looked through it?!"
"Of course not; I just know she doesn't." He wasn't lying about this, the night [____] slept over, he even made fun of her for that. "She said to me that she didn't have many friends to begin with, and that's why she doesn't use her phone often. That sort of ticked me off."
"Why would it..?" Izuku couldn't place [____]'s phone back down, he played with the puppy's paw and pressed it. A series of 'Woof! Woof!'s followed.
"'Cause the three of us used to be friends, right?! At least just the two of you, if I'm not included..." Bakugo furrowed his brows while finding a pair of shoes to wear. "I doubt she saw me as one, back then."
"Of course Amacchan saw you as one. That's why she was always around, Kacchan."
"No, she was only around me 'cause she wanted to follow you everywhere— And you couldn't leave me the fuck alone, Deku. So admit it, she was only your friend...Not mine."
'Kacchan seems to be bothered by this...' Izuku took a mental note. 'I don't get why, though...Could it be that he liked her, even back then?!'
"It's not like it matters now, though." Izuku thought more of a way he could put it. "Kacchan...She is more your friend now, than she ever was mine. You two grew closer, didn't you? She's always happy when she's with you...I've seen it in her face..."
"Why the fuck are you looking her way when she's not even near you?! Damn nerd, you always find a way to annoy the hell outta me!"
"I'm not trying to annoy you, Kacchan! Please just listen!"
"No. I heard enough, actually." Katsuki wasn't about to confess some weird crap around Izuku. The truth was that he knew [____] disliked him back in those old days, and he hated it with every fiber in his being.
[____] was precious to him since he was younger; At first, he was just amused by her comebacks. The more he got to observe her while she hung out with Deku made him feel different, however. She was smart besides witty, she had better grades back then than she does now.
He could count the number of awards he had won in spelling contests with two hands, but he knew [____]'s academic achievements as kids were greater than his. This was one of the reasons he thought he hated her.
[____] had practically no friends before Deku; She was quiet and kept to herself a lot, to the point where Katsuki would overhear teachers talking about her behavior with someone on the phone on occasions, probably her parents.
They were hardly there for her. He could tell because on days where their elementary school would open up for students' parents to come over and review their children's work with teachers, [____]'s never showed up.
She would sit on her desk, instead of spending free time with friends she did not have. Either she colored or read a book, unbothered. It wasn't until some teachers suggested she'd go out to the playground and get to know others when she was exposed to Katsuki and his demeanor.
Deku was her friend; her best one as she proclaimed. Katsuki was just her bully.
He wanted to change that title of his so bad; but it was already there, engraved in her brain. & teasing her was just so simple. He could do it all day if she didn't end up crying each time he ruined some of her favorite dresses, threw her lunch on the ground or even mentioned how ugly he thought she was.
That last part being obviously a lie.
💥🌸💥🌸
"She used to stand up to me or anyone, back then." Bakugo randomly mentioned as the two of them walked past the convenience store and towards the park. "Now she's just anxious, and worried for nothing 24/7."
Izuku recalled the first part being true. "We were kids...We spoke without much thought, so..."
"She changed because of me."
"Kacchan, that's impossible!" Izuku honestly didn't think [____]'s change in behavior over the years was all thanks to Kacchan. With him, it made sense since he also kept tormenting him in middle school. "Amacchan hasn't seen you for a long time."
"It just makes better sense to me, this way." He informed. "I did nothing but hurt and scare her off. The only reason she'd come back for more was always because of you, Deku. You always boasted on and on about me being a great friend and she kept believing you, each time."
"But you were a great friend! I mean, you still are!"
"How the hell would you know?! Don't go thinking we're fine again just because I'm letting you help me with this crap—!! You piss me off the most, out of everyone— I will never befriend a worthless nerd like you ever again. So don't give me that crap."
Hearing him say that wounded Izuku, but only a little since he was expecting him to feel this way. "...Kacchan..."
'I'm trying.' Deku thought for a moment.
'I'm trying my best...to get along with him again, but it's difficult. You should know...If I can't do this for him, then I will do it for you...I care for you just as much as I care for Kacchan, Amacchan.
Sorry...I haven't been a good friend to either one of you, lately. I have to do better than what I'm doing right now, I know!'
Sometimes, cheering himself up like this was the only way Izuku could manage having another conversation with Katsuki.
💚💥💜
It took them probably six minutes from Bakugo's home to get to the public park. Midoriya had forgotten to let Shinso know they were on their way so he called him as soon as they got there.
"This better not take long." Katsuki mentioned, sitting on one of the first picnic table's benches made out of concrete that the two of them were standing nearby. He crossed his legs, "Who is this person we're meeting here, anyway?"
"Hitoshi Shinso, from class C."
"Who the fuck is he?"
Izuku wasn't worried that he couldn't recognize people by their legal names; He was about to describe how he looked like to Katsuki, if it wasn't that a stray cat caught his attention, foremost.
It was dark grey in color, with striking yellow eyes and sort of thin. It recognized the blond guy, and so did he. The cat was one of the strays Katsuki had fed in the past. Somehow, it knew the perfect amount of space to give him as it jumped on the picnic table and sat there, 'nyaa'-ing at Bakugo.
"Kacchan. I think this cat likes you." Midoriya wanted to pet it, but he wasn't sure it would scare the animal off.
"It's a stray, it can like anyone."
"I've seen Kaminari get scratched by a few when he tried to feed them, so maybe not."
"I'd do the same shit if I was a cat and that ugly motherfucker tried getting close to me."
Midoriya paid no attention to the way Bakugo could insult one of his current friends. He eventually cave in and softly tickled a spot near the cat's ear. It purred back. "It seems friendly enough..maybe he has an owner."
"If it did, it wouldn't be so damn skinny."
"You're probably right." The freckled guy gifted the stray a few more seconds of affection hitherto the cat jumping off of the table to greet his friend. "Oh, Shinso is here. I wonder if that's his cat..."
Bakugo didn't answer his pointless question. He knew one thing, though, if the stray happened to belong to that guy...That just meant Shinso owed him money for the times he had been feeding his pet in secret. "Oi! Is it yours?!"
"No, he's a stray." Hitoshi easily picked it up to place him back on the concrete table. "He's always around here, though. I've fed him a couple of times, whenever I see him."
Katsuki raised an eyebrow; the tall guy had brought a can of wet cat food with him, apparently. He pulled it out of his dark grey hoodie's front pocket and once the feline was content, he took the notebook Midoriya offered him. "Thanks, Midoriya. I'm leaving, now—"
"Wait; isn't he the fucker you said could help us deliver this crap to cheeks, Deku?! Why the hell is he trying to leave, hah?!"
Shinso had already turned his back on them and was ready to head home until he heard Bakugo. He didn't do this often, use his quirk on others without a valid reason to— but they weren't in school grounds and no one was around this particular park so early in the morning.
"Call me that again, obnoxious loudmouth." He dared; For him, it was easy brain play. "Go ahead, say it."
Katsuki knew not to respond directly to the guy whenever he threatened. He had spoken to him before, sure, even insulted him a few times but Hitoshi let those moments go. He never used his quirk on Katsuki, but he would be lying if he said he wasn't dying to try.
"K-Kacchan...Shinso is the only person I know who has a good chance of walking into Amacchan's room and not get in trouble; He can deliver her food because he works in the kitchen!"
It was the first time Hitoshi heard of this strange plan; he raised an eyebrow at Midoriya. "You want me to give something to your classmate? As in, like..A favor?"
No one has actually asked for his help in a long time, at least not in the way that made him feel important or needed. Deku pleaded for him to forget about Kacchan's words and hear his out before deciding whether he wanted to actually walk away from them or not.
Hitoshi sat a space away from Katsuki and crossed his arms to listen; The stray had finished eating when he purred near both of the guys but ultimately lied down on Shinso's lap.
🌸💜💥
"I see...So you are asking me to sneak into her room and give her back her cell phone...I'm not opposed to help, but I just don't see it working." In the end, Hitoshi confessed. "I don't personally deliver the patients' food, it's not part of my job. So I wouldn't be able to walk in as easily as you believe."
"Then you're third-rate to this plan." Bakugo quickly let him know of this. "Come on Deku, he's not worth anyone's fucking time. I can find another way to sneak this shit in her room."
"But Kacchan, I don't see a different way..."
"There is a million. I say we beat dunce face to a pulp and have him take over a patient room, so that way—"
"Kacchan, I'm not beating up a friend to get in!" Deku exclaimed. "Shinso, is there really not a single way you could get into Amacchan's room?! If you say it again, maybe I'll believe it and quit asking for your help..."
"I don't want to say that it's impossible..." Hitoshi exhaled; Since when has he become very close with Midoriya as to make him feel guilty for saying 'no'? "Rather, just a tad difficult for me to do."
"Cut the crap, eyebags." Bakugo narrowed his eyes at the traitor of a cat, who fell asleep on Shinso's lap instead of his. "You know, with that quirk of yours...you could do whatever you wanted if you tried. Brainwashing others to let you in is like a walk in the park for your weird-ass, ain't it?"
"Kacchan—"
Hitoshi interrupted Izuku from trying to reason with the blond. "That's true, but I don't see why I should break the trust of my co-workers just for the sake of you texting the girl you hurt during the exam."
That last bit hit a homerun with Katsuki's anger. He did a good job at hiding it, however, when he pulled [____]'s cell phone out of his pocket and tossed it at the general studies student. "If you find a way to leave this in her room, I will pay you 10,000 yen. That's how serious I am about this shit."
"I don't want money." Shinso replied, but held on to the electronic device anyway; the puppy keychain on it was really interesting to touch.
"Then what could you want?!"
"Nothing you can offer me, really."
"I will owe you a biiiig, huuuge favor, Shinso!" Midoriya let him know. "So please take good care of us!"
"— There you have it. The nerd will owe you a favor right back. Priceless, even for you, right?!"
It could be. Shinso eyed the screen of [____]'s cell and locked eyes with the blond. "What about you?"
"Hah?!?!"
"Let's make it so that you owe me something back, too."
Katsuki scoffed at his suggestion. "You fucking wi—"
"—Kacchan agrees!!" Izuku answered for him, holding on to his childhood friend just in case he tried to hurt his friend; he could always use one for all to keep him from aiming an unnecessary attack at Hitoshi.
"HAH?! Let go off my arm, nerd!! I'll burn your fucking freckles right out of your face!! Don't decide for me, you hear?!?"
"But Shinso basically just agreed to help us— Kacchan, wouldn't you do something as easy as this to talk to Amacchan sooner than you'd think?"
Both, Midoriya and Shinso waited a bit less than a minute for his answer. "...—ck, alright. Fine. If you do me this favor, eyebags..Then I'll repay it, or whatever. Just get it done."
Hitoshi noticed a button on the paw of the plushie, he pressed it to hear the cute sound it made. It actually made him smile a little. "Hm...That's interesting."
"Did you hear me?! DON'T FUCKING ASK ME FOR SHIT AND IGNORE ME RIGHT AFTER, YOU ASSHOLE—!!"
"Kacchan!! Don't yell those words in public—!! There's a kids playground right beside us!!"
Amidst the beginning of their small argument, Hitoshi got up from his seat; the stray cat having to resort to get up from his movement and stretching beside him, on the ground. "....Then, I will see what I can do. A favor coming from the obnoxious guy sounds like a rare opportunity, I guess."
The two guys quit their dispute to watch Hitoshi say his goodbye and walk home; Neither of them had anything else to say except for Deku, who just thanked him from afar.
💥💚💥💚
"Well that went better than expected, right Kacchan?" Midoriya asked once Hitoshi had left the two of them alone again, three stray cats had followed after him, beside the one they have just met. "..Wasn't there only one before he got here?"
Katsuki placed his hands inside his jeans' front pockets. "....I'm leaving. Don't try to follow me around again, Deku."
"But—! What about the shopping?" Izuku was planning on hanging out with him a little longer. He sounded almost disappointed when he asked him, "Kacchan, don't you need help carrying all the grocery bags back home?"
"I'll do that shit on my own. Never needed you around for that."
Knowing that to be true, Midoriya decided it was fine for him to let Bakugo walk away from him too.
'Amacchan...I guess...Kacchan also needs his time to think things throughly...He'll be fine, I hope...Amacchan, you're fine too, right? I can't wait to hear from you soon...'
💚💎💚💎
Ultimately, Izuku had no other option but to get home as well. He lived rather closer to UA than Katsuki or [____] did. On his way there, he stopped by a small store near the school to purchase a rather large bottle of iced green tea for him and his mother to share during lunch time.
He stood in line at the checkout area, the small tv the owner of the shop had put in front of his register to keep himself and his employees occupied whenever no customers were near was playing the news.
Reruns of Kumiko Kete's press conference regarding [____]'s live disappearance played, with reporters cutting parts of it to voice their comments and concerns for the girl.
"It is rumored that the body of [____] Amachi returned charred and unconscious. Who could know what the poor child of famous model/actor, Himeko Amachi, had to go through to re-appear in such condition." One reporter stated.
Another gave his opinion, "There was signs of foreign radioactivity when she came down from the sky. It baffles me 'til this day, that not one scientist in Musutafu can explain what her portals could bring into the city. Perhaps destruction, if she's not careful enough?"
"Amacchan isn't dangerous..." Izuku replied to the man on the screen with a whisper. "They don't know her like I do. She would never hurt anyone—"
"— That's gonna be 430 ¥, please." The girl operating the register unsettled the guy for a moment. He hadn't realized he was already in front of the line and placed the item on the counter.
"R-Right!! S-Sorry!" Midoriya was always shy around women, in general. Though this girl in particular was extra pretty, her skin so smooth and clear, almost like porcelain.
Her eyes big and striking in turquoise blue; like a foreigner's & her thick brown hair pinned up in a ponytail. Izuku grabbed his wallet and shakily handed her the money he owed.
'KOU' was on her name tag. The freckled guy stared at the shiny metal plate for a moment, 'I wonder if she goes to our school...'
"Here's your change. Thank you very much." The cashier handed it back on a small brown tray for him. "You're a U.A student, right?"
"Eh?!"
She pointed with her eyes at his student ID that he had inside his wallet, it was wide open the other way, so anyone with working eyes could read it. "Sorry. Didn't mean to scare you."
She laughed for a bit, and Midoriya could feel his cheeks feeling hot. "I...I am."
"Are you in their hero course?" Her eyes seem to lit up when she asked. Izuku nodded a couple of times. "Do you speak with a guy named Shoto Todoroki, at all? He and I are friends."
"Todoroki?" Izuku didn't know Shoto could make friends with anyone outside their class. It's not that he was bad-looking, he was just too quiet around people and kept to himself, even when he hung out with him and their friends.
This girl, Kou, in particular...She was so doll-like, it made Midoriya wonder if the two of them had dated before, or something. He shook his head to forget about it. "Yes! Todoroki is my friend...I'm sure."
He added the last part because, well, if they were really as close as he thought they were— Why hadn't Todoroki mentioned to him he had made a new friend? One outside of UA?
Were they keeping their friendship a secret? Were relationships like these, even meant to be kept hidden from others? He didn't have to meddle in it, Deku knew that. Yet, somehow...He wanted to figure it out.
"If you see him, tell him Kou says hi." She smiled eagerly again, this time— the look in her eyes were a little bit sad for some strange reason. "It's been a while since we last spoke. Tell him I hope to hear from him soon, please."
"Y-Yes...I will tell him. We-Well, I will leave now...Please excuse me..."
"Have a nice day, please come again!"

[an; I wrote a little extra bc I didn't update yesterday. Sorry, my insomnia creeped up on me and I couldn't focus on much throughout the day when my head was hurting sm over no sleep.
Hear me out, tho: I know I've dreaded lots of parts of this story so bad I'm sorry I feel so ashamed about it always that's why I'm always thanking you in the end of the chapters bc I love how patient you guys are with me I know I write a lot and I feel guilty about it
If this was a real book it would of been done within 20 chapters. That's the reason I love writing fanfics, I can make them as long as I'd like. & about you and Kacchan ending up together
It's obviously gonna happen, this is a Bakugo story lol. Maybe sometimes it feels like it won't; and I understand. (I may have gotten a little crazy with the love rivals right there lol) but just know I had the plot of this story fully figured out since chapter 22 I believe, and everything that's happening is for a good reason
I know y'all wanna date Kacchan already but like, I know in the beginning of my story I've received comments of people telling me he was too toxic and I agree. (Sorry Kacchan, I made u a real jerk in here but that's how I see you lmao) that's how I picture Katsuki reacting to stuff.
For the sake of your relationship to be healthy I have to fix his character (and yours too I know, y'all don't like that I made you a crybaby I am gonna fix it up) a bit and I'm trying to do it without making him so ooc— and same as you. so that's why my story is insanely long so far and will continue to be(haha don't hate me pls I already hate myself enough for the both of us lmao)
Anyway this authors note is too long as well so I'll leave it at this for now! I'll see you tomorrow!! THANKS FOR READING THIS FAR YOU DESERVE ALL THE GREATEST THINGS IN LIFE!! My queens/kings 🥺❤️]
