💥💥💥💥

When Katsuki was home, he marched straight into his room and threw his school bag on the floor out of anger. He would of stomped on it too, if it wasn't that his mother followed after him and leaned on the side of his opened door to watch him act like a spoiled little kid.

It definitely amused her, and she tried so hard not to tease him at first but it was unavoidable. "Need to chat with mommy, Katsu?"

"No way in hell."

Mitsuki forgot about laughing and went straight to forming a pout with her lips. "Not nice of you. I'm just trying to be a good mom, you know."

"Try less."

"And then what? Have you resort to speaking with counselors and therapists instead, because you wanna be cool or whatever and not tell your parents what's on your mind?! I'll beat you until you're honest with me, Katsuki—!! So talk to me already, you little shit!!"

"— You won't understand it." She was expecting her son to continue with more banter; but when he sternly replied, she pulled back on the insults. "Cheeks' grandma was right about me...I know why I'm grounded and shit, so there's nothing else to say to you or dad."

Masaru was standing by the staircase, listening to his wife attempt to console their son and thinking that he didn't need to be there until he heard Katsuki use the magic word to summon him.

"Can you two just let me be for the rest of the day?" The ash-blond guy asked, in the most polite tone of voice that he had ever used on anyone. "Don't worry about my dinner...I know I gotta eat but I just feel like sleeping 'til morning. So can I do that instead?"

Mitsuki didn't want him to skip any meals, but the way Katsuki dropped on his bed had already made her think it wasn't such a bad idea to give him space, after all. She agreed, right after her husband gave her a nod to say he was on board with it. "Just for tonight...Sleep well, Katsu."

💥💥💥💥

Naturally because of the concentrated amount of exhaustion, he was able to nap until two in the morning the next day; He got up and went to the kitchen to get a glass of water, where he found his parents soundlessly asleep on the couch, in front of the TV.

The two hour long informercial about a series of 'amazing' hairstyle products played as white noise the background and Katsuki walked upstairs to his parents' bedroom to bring a blanket from their closet to put on their legs. He expected one of them to wake up but neither did so he sauntered back to his room.

He tried to fall back asleep but it was pretty useless. Anytime he would close his eyes he pictured [____]'s face, right in front of him.

Then he would start to think about how pretty she looked whenever she smiled at him or others. The times she cried because of him, because of anything actually. Even with those salty tear marks underneath her eyes, she was like the sun—

Intensely bright and radiating so much kindness as energy that it made her brilliant; without her, he'd be nothing. He felt this way from the start, but it only took him a week and a broken promise to realize it.

"I said I wouldn't hurt her, but I did."

At last, he was finally aware of how grief could hurt just as much— if not, more —than any kind of physical pain he had endured over the years.

🌸DAY 2 — injuries🌸

Manato Amachi had done everything by the books the moment his pregnant wife left him on his own during the big meeting with members of the modeling agency she worked for. They were to discuss the creation of a new line of hero suits for those who are expecting little bundles of joys up until their third trimester.

It was a difficult subject; many believed women shouldn't work at all while pregnant, if it was considered a disability— But others, Himeko for example, argued that women were strong enough to continue their daily routines (pro-hero work included if they wanted it to be) up until a few weeks before giving birth.

That's what they were considering, plus the amount of money it would take to launch a world-tour in form of an advertisement, and hire other pregnant models as well as asking them for their opinion on the upcoming clothing line overall.

Despite working as some sort of manager for his wife, [____]'s father didn't speak many languages other than their native Japanese and the little bit of English courses he took as a teenager.

So when the administrator, who was on FaceTime in front of his employees and guests, asked him where in the world his wife had gone to in Arabic, he did exactly what any sane, confused person would do and ran out of the office, making himself look suspicious.

He was obviously stopped by security standing outside the door, and brought back to face his wife's professional co-workers. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I just panicked."

Their translator, who of course was also in the room and Manato couldn't figure out why he didn't think of asking him for help before getting out of there all crazy; he explained to the head chairman that Himeko's kid was missing, and she just found out about it.

"Maybe she went back to Japan, this should be considered a family emergency and therefore is excusable." Their translator spoke with the confidence [____]'s father wished he had whenever he was around people with loads of money.

"I agree," the chairman replied in Arabic. Manato not understanding a single thing. "Let him borrow one of our private jets to get him there faster, if he wishes."

🌸🌸🌸🌸

The heavy jet, with seasonal live winds, took about fifteen hours to get to Japan. On his way there, Manato kept texting and calling his family, but received nothing back.

He was accompanied by their translator, who worked specifically for them and usually travelled separately. A man in his eighties, with cloudy blue eyes due to cataracts and the whitest hair one has ever seen. Originally from Europe, the man met the Japanese couple and wanted to work for them instead of retiring.

His quirk, omnicommunication, came in handy whenever Himeko landed jobs in other countries. As much as Manato wanted to thank him for speaking with his wife's co workers, he was too worried for his family to even sleep or eat for the next fifteen hours.

🌸🌸🌸🌸

They landed on an airline in Tokyo around seven in the morning; Algeria and Japan had an eight hour time difference so Manato was jet-lagged but still ready to catch any transportation towards Musutafu.

He invited the senior-aged man to his home in the meantime to have him rest. He called him a cab and then dialed a maid to let her know of the stranger who was on his way there.

He got into another taxi and continued to call and text his family nonstop, until finally his wife answered. "My love!!"

The voice on the other line was not Himeko's, however, it was the devil incarnated, a.k.a his mother in law. "I need you to stop calling or else you'll wake her up."

"Kumiko. How is everything? Where is my little girl?"

"Because sadly, you are [____]'s father...I will send you the address to the hospital. We are on the fourth floor, waiting area. Himeko is finally asleep after hours of staying up, do not dare to wake her up until you get here. Goodbye."

"—But!" He was gonna ask if they needed anything from him, but Kumiko hung up so fast it sort of stung his chest. The man on the driving seat was still waiting for an address, he gave Manato a strange look and [____]'s dad awkwardly smiled back. "Mom in laws, eh..?"

🌸🌸🌸🌸

He got to the hospital's fourth floor around seven forty in the morning. This was probably the longest Manato had stayed up without the help of caffeine. The long, brightly lit corridors devoid any warmth or comfort within him— That's how it was until he caught his wife uncomfortably sleeping over three upholstered green chairs.

Next to her was her young, personal butler who got up to greet the man with whatever energy he had left in him. "Goodmorning, Mister Manato. Anything I can do for you today?"

"You're sleep deprived, aren't you son?" [____]'s father gave him a hard pat on his back; Kaito had always felt like family since the moment Himeko hired him. Perhaps he was the only male close to [____]'s age that they trusted around their daughter. "Go back to the house and take the day off, I'll deal with my mom in law's special requests for the time being."

"Are you absolutely sure you're qualified for the job?" Kumiko's voice scared him to bits as she creeped up behind the two of them. She was holding onto a clipboard and a pen, just finished chatting with one of the nurses. "You must have lost your mind if you think you can work as anything other than a nuisance."

"Kumiko...It is always my pleasure to be near you." He directed his view at her and said under a forced smile. "My daughter— When can I see her?"

"Her doctor is going to walk out of those doors any minute and give us great news, I am sure of it. In the meantime, why don't you become useful and fill up all this paperwork, since you're her parent? I wouldn't want to wake my raspberry up when she's the one in need of rest the most, out of all of us." She handed Manato the stack of forms and pointed at another green chair, across from his wife where he could sit.

🌸🌸🌸🌸

Sure enough in another 45 minutes later, [____]'s doctor walked out of the same doors Kumiko had talked about earlier and came face to face with the unfortunate girl's parents and grandmother.

"Amachi, [____]?" He scratched the back of his head as he read the patient log that a nurse had given him; she had to practically rush after him since he had left it on his office's desk.

Manato got too close to the tall man, but that wasn't the part that freaked the doctor out; He also got on his knees and began to beg. "Please!! Take my life and give it to her!! You don't understand—!! She's my world! She's my little princess—!! I need her to live! Please!!"

Dr. Shinso clicked his tongue once, then tried to shake off the desperate man by moving his foot away from his face. "Are you her father? She's expected to live, of course. No need for you to embarrass yourself."

"It is too late to tell him that." Kumiko found the time to comment while gently shaking her daughter to wake up. "My raspberry, wake up. [____]'s doctor is here."

Himeko rubbed her eyes together and yawned. "Is she ok?"

"Miraculously, yes." The doctor answered every single question he assumed they would ask, first and fore most. "Most of the fresh wounds you'll see would be from second degree burns, one count of third degree on her left shoulder blade; bruising and abrasions all over her body, a couple of fractured ribs and a broken knee along with a torn meniscus on her right leg— That, she will need surgery for. To remove the swollen tissues on that area before they become a problem."

He had a blue-ink pen tucked behind an ear; Dr. Shinso pulled it out to write a name and phone number behind one of his own business cards to hand over to [____]'s family. "I highly recommend for you to call this particular doctor, she does great work involving sports injuries. However, I would wait until her skin starts to heal before scheduling a session with any orthopedist.

With plenty of rest, medicine and physical therapy, she will be able to go back to her regular day-to-day basis in two to three months, at the very least."

Kumiko took the little piece of card stock from the man while the girl's parents hugged and kissed each other as a way to display their relief. To distract her from rolling her eyes at them, the old woman read the card out loud. "Hajime Shinso. Neurologist?"

The doctor nodded once at his name. "I was afraid she would have any traumatic brain damage, if what I heard on the news is true. She fell how many meters from the sky?"

"Fourteen meters approximately, I was told."

"Add that with explosions and an ice barrier; I am honestly very surprised she did not fractured her skull." When Dr. Shinso mentioned those words together, [____]'s parents squeaked at the same time, they ended up kind of sounding like a dog toy.

He tried to smile to make them feel more comfortable with the turn of events. "Your daughter is fine. There is more testing to be done, though. It seems that, as a precaution, we should keep her mind and body at ease for a few days...

You know, just to make sure there will be no swelling in the brain and once we get all of her bloodwork finished for the day, we can start talking about visiting hours for tomorrow. Sounds good?"

When you think you're going to lose someone, then get told by a medical professional that they won't let that happen, there's nothing else you could do but nod, believe in their words and wait. It's what Himeko and Manato kept trying to do, just nodding at [____]'s assigned doctor.

Dr. Shinso allowed a tired-looking grin to take over his lips. "Have you checked out the cafeteria, yet? Right this way, let's get you folks some grub; it's breakfast time and I, for one, am starving."

🌸💜🌸💜

He guided the distraught parents and [____]'s maternal grandmother to his favorite area in the entire hospital; the canteen.

It looked like the inside of a very popular coffee-chain establishment at first glance, it was located on the first floor of the entire building, way behind the front desk and far enough from the emergency rooms to make one forget about the scent of bleach lingering around the entire place, trying (and failing) to veil the stench of the diseased and deceased.

The place was almost empty since most people wouldn't think about eating hospital food, unless they were on the cot themselves and had no other source of food to choose from. Only an elderly man was sitting on his own, a couple feet away from the entrance.

Upon greeting the lady behind the register, Dr. Shinso began to act a little more lively towards his patients' rich parents. "You're going to love the food, trust me. Anything you choose, you'll find it's better than other hospital food you've tried.

My son works here, I'm always peeking in, hoping to see him. He always brightens up my day with his smile but it looks like he's not here today, I wonder why..."

"Hajime, it's a school day." Another woman's voice coming from the inside of the kitchen reminded the clueless doctor. "He's only here when he's not studying. Did you forget? When was the last time you checked your calendar?"

"It's not the weekend yet?" Hajime asked himself. The doctor hadn't slept due to his quirk; he usually remained in the hospital longer than others should. It was like his first home, at this point. He checked his cell phone and excused himself from the rest. "My break is almost over. Can I get breakfast sent up to the fourth floor? I'll be in my office."

He left seconds after handing the cashier his credit card and allowing her to swipe it before taking it back. Then there was a little bit of a silent moment until the lady behind the register recognized [____]'s mother. "Oh my..!! You're famous!! I've seen you in TV! Hey, could we get a photo with you if it's not rude of me to ask..?"

🌸DAY 5 — friends🌸

On Monday morning, some of [____]'s friends met up at the usual train stop to get to UA.

For the last two school days, Katsuki's parents had been dropping and picking him up in hope that their son would like to open up about his emotions during the quiet car rides, but there hasn't been much luck with that.

So when Mina asked Eijiro if he heard from their team leader over the weekend, he had to shake his head. "I tried calling him on Saturday; maybe he got his phone taken away over something."

"His parents would seriously ground him like that?"

"Don't know about his dad, but his mom would definitely punish him for anything, even talking back, so..."

Sero was walking close to Kaminari, face practically glued to his cell phone as they reached their stop. Mina greeted the two of them. "Anything?"

"I watched the press conference [____]'s grandma attended over the weekend. She didn't mention her condition, just said it wasn't critical..."

"Well, that sounds good." Denki took in a deep breath and let it go soon after. "I mean...Come on, guys. She's alive. That's all we wanted, right?! I'm sure everything is going to turn out fine..."

Mina agreed, but still showcased doubt. "I just wish Mr. Aizawa or any one of our teachers who would know anything about [____]-chan would tell us how she is doing..Or give us their guess at what they think happened with her quirk.

Her grandma didn't cover any questions that I had...All she did was try to persuade reporters that a villain wasn't involved. Even then, I'm not entirely sure I can rely on her words. [____] can't just disappear like that and then show up hours later, out of nowhere. Has her quirk always been that dangerous? Think about it!!"

"Maybe it has, and she just didn't know." Kirishima shared his opinion. "Its easy to think the worst out of situations like this...But I say, we should focus more on the good news. [____] made it back."

Ashido's pursed glossy lips turned into a soft smile. It was incredible how the girl's mood could change so easily whenever she was around her best guy friends. "Yeah! In fact, we should meet up after school and make [____]-chan a gift basket for when she's all better!! We can drop it off at her house, if we can't figure out her hospital room number first!"

She raised a hand, inviting others to give her a hi-five and Eijiro was the first person to accept it. "Bro, yes!! I'll talk to Bakugo during lunch break, I'm sure doing this will be kinda therapeutic for him. He's the one that has been getting closer to [____] than the rest of us."

"Oooh! You're right! Bakubabe has been isolating himself from everyone; I wouldn't say it's unusual, but the way things are going, it's obvious he's missing [____]-chan harder than we are."

"I'm telling you, they're practically dating already."

"Seriously..?" Sero tried to smile at the thought.

"Kirishima, dude! Do I really gotta hear you say that?!" Kaminari covered his ears far too late to protect himself from an ongoing heartache. "Man! I've been trying my hardest not to cry these last few days but I just might from hearing those words! [____]!! My angel! I wonder if you can hear me praying for your well-being?!

Are we connected like that, yet? You're so hot, like the sun. I could die if you're not around me, you know!! —ack!! Something hit me! What was that?!"

"My fist." Katsuki answered, even proudly showed it to Denki's face. "Want some more?"

"Bro! You're here!!" Kirishima was surprised he didn't notice him sooner, he placed an arm over his shoulder. "You okay?"

"Why shouldn't I be? Everything's fine."

Mina and Sero were too busy making sure Kaminari was alright and not suffering from any internal bleeding before tuning in with their conversation. "Bakubabe!! You're talking to us again? Have you heard from [____] at all?!"

"No; but she's alright. Quit worrying over her; she ain't dead and that's what matters."

"So cold..." Ashido complained under her breath. "But you may be right...If you're as composed like you always are, saying this..Then I'll try my best not to think negatively, either!!"

Kaminari was back to normal, not crying or monologuing to his unrequited love. "Bakugo, you're so cool. This whole time I just thought you were too chicken to cry in front of us and that's why you haven't hung out with us for a while—"

Katsuki's grip was unpredictable, but avoidable sometimes. Denki didn't react on time so now he was being threatened with the ash-blond's fingers around his neck. "Wanna say that again, dunce face?"

"I was just trying to say that I admire the way you reacted to all of this....I wanna be that cool one day, too..." He wasn't choking, but the position he was in was enough to have Kaminari breathe his words out as if he was in the middle of dying already. "...Please don't hurt my face. It's the only part of me I'm not insecure about— please."

Kirishima nudged his best friend with his shoulder. "Come on, Bakugo. Let him go, he always means well, you know that."

"Whatever." Bakugo did what was expected of him. "I wasn't gonna hurt him, just trying to get him to shut up."

"Maybe next time, just ask him to stop talking?" The two best friends walked away, leaving Mina and Hanta to yet again, ask the golden-haired guy if he was alright.

"I'm fine." Kaminari assured the two of them. "Just wish he could be nicer sometimes."

Mina chuckled once at him. "Don't we all?"

💥💥💥💥

After school, Mina invited practically the entire hero course classes over to her house, to create the ultimate gift basket for her still unconscious friend.

As expected, only some of class B's students agreed to help; the ones who were in awe with [____]'s power and not afraid of her, that is.

As for her own classmates, every single one of them found time to follow Mina to her home. Bakugo wasn't happy about that. He practically cursed out every single person he didn't like on their way there. (And Midoriya was on top of his list.)

"Bakugo, if you're coming over then you gotta make peace with the rest of [____]'s friends! Otherwise we won't write your name on the basket!" Mina had told him beforehand, but it seemed like Katsuki just enjoyed making others repeat themselves. "Bakubabe!! Quit being rude!"

"Yeah, bro, when was the last time all of us got together to create something special for anybody, huh?" Eijiro answered his own question with another question. "...When was the last time any of us went to Mina's, actually?"

"Are you sure you can fit all these idiots in your tiny ass home, raccoon eyes? We should just ditch all of them and do this at my place instead." Katsuki was kind (?) enough to offer a solution to get rid of the extras.

"I thought you were grounded, Kacchan." Izuku had the scary talent of creeping up on his childhood friend without being noticed at first. As soon as Katsuki glared at him, he stepped behind Kirishima to protect himself.

"I'm only saying this because I tried calling your house on Friday, to see if you were home and if you wanted any left overs..!! My mom cooked chili-spice pork chops for dinner and I know you used to like it as kids, so I called your house phone and your mom answered and told me you were grounded and couldn't go out to meet me halfway, so I ended up eating all of it to not worry my mom about throwing food away and I am still suffering from a stomachache because of it!"

"Deku, shut the fuck up already!" Katsuki decided he heard enough of his story; knowing that it was all of it actually. "...Next time, call my cell."

He murmured the last part, so only Izuku and Eijiro could hear him. Kirishima didn't say anything, in fact he pretended to not hear a thing. It was Midoriya who could not believe what he just said. "H..uh? Kacchan—?"

Katsuki hated to admit that he unblocked him in person, so he ignored him for the time being and sent him a text later that night, when they were both inside their homes and far away from each other.
