"Izuku?!" [____] was shocked to see her childhood friend being cornered into a wall by Katsuki. "Did you just see what happ—?"

"FUCKING NERD!" Her team leader didn't even allow her to continue talking. He grabbed on to Midoriya's shirt collar. "How many times did I tell you to stop following me around?! You've been on that shit since middle school!!"

"Kacchan, it's not what it looks like! I wasn't trying to follow you— I swear by All Might! I was just at the mall and saw Amacchan there, alone— I went to buy a new notebook. Y-You see—?!"

He waved the brand new item in Bakugo's face as an attempt to calm him down. "I was gonna ask her if she wanted me to walk her home b-but then I saw Kacchan there—! And I didn't want to bother you two, so I took a different route to the train station and—! And then—!"

"And then, what?!" Katsuki was only getting more irritated by the minute. "You hid from me, for what reason?!"

"I—! I saw Kacchan getting closer to h-her— So I closed my eyes! I closed my eyes, Kacchan!! I didn't see it! This is all a misunderstanding!"

"Sounds like a load of bullshit to me!!" He had an explosion ready to meet his classmate's face but [____] got in between the two guys.

"Don't hurt him, Katsuki! He said he didn't see anything!" [____] placed a hand softly on his shoulder. "I'm sure he's not lying, Izuku doesn't lie!"

"You're brainless enough to fall for lame excuses like that, fat cheeks?!"

"You can insult me all you want, but in exchange you have to let him go. Don't hurt him, please."

Her crush growled, like an animal trying to bite someone's head off. He let Midoriya go, alright, but not before tightening his grip to spit out one last threat. "I will kill you if you say a word about this to anyone, you understand, Deku?!"

"Katsuki, stop it!"

"Shut the fuck up! Let me hear him say it!" He roughly shook his rival a couple of times. "Say you won't tell a single soul about this! You hear me?!"

"Y-Y-Yes!! I won't!"

"You won't what?!"

"I won't tell a single soul, Kacchan!"

He pushed him to the ground, then pulled out the pink-colored electronic from his jeans' pocket, tossing it to the girl. "Fat cheeks, take this."

She was able to catch it, even though she had no idea what it was at first, "Is this..?"

"Keep that fucking jacket, I have another one at home." That was the last thing Bakugo said before leaving.

'He's walking away...I probably shouldn't go after him when angry like that. Where did he find my phone, though?'

"That was a little scary..." Midoriya awkwardly laughed the pain off once the coast was absolutely clear.

[____] offered her hand to help him stand up. "Izuku, are you hurt?"

"No, Kacchan wouldn't injure me like that."

"But it looked like he was about to—"

"Yeah, he was really upset, wasn't he? But he's not a bad person. He doesn't hurt others unless they ask for it."

'That makes no sense...He insults everybody all the time...'

"Amacchan...I hope you don't think I'm strange for hiding back then, while you guys...Um...Y-You know..." Midoriya was blushing. "K-K-Kissed..."

"No! No, I don't find it strange! I wouldn't know how to react to it, either!" She tried converting the subject by pointing at the paperback he was still holding. "You bought this for class?"

"Eh, no...It's just for random notes..."

"I see.."

"Amacchan, d-do you want me to w-walk you h-home?" He scratched the back of his head as he offered. "I...I don't think Kacchan will be coming back..."

[____] smiled. "Yeah, that would be nice, thanks."

🌸🌸🌸🌸

She was able to find her new address through her cell phone, that Katsuki miraculously found at the perfect time.

She texted her parents, who promised they wouldn't get her in trouble for sending her security guard off to another prefecture with her quirk, just as long as she explained to them why she did it.

& also, how she was able to move someone from that much distance.

"I don't get it...." [____] looked at her palms as she and Izuku were on their way to her house. "I'm usually able to move something if I'm at most, 20 miles away from there.... Anything more than that, I get the feeling that I want to faint..."

'Am I just getting stronger by myself? I haven't trained my quirk in years...'

"Your mom can do 50 miles sometimes, right?" When Deku asked her that, she raised an eyebrow at him. "S-She said it in an interview a few years ago..."

"Oh...Well, I don't know that. We don't usually talk about our powers at all..."

"Hm..." He did a thinking gesture. "How far did they say you sent your security guard to?"

"Mom said that he called her all the way from Nagasaki— but she wasn't so sure."

"That's over 500 miles from here! Wow, you were able to do that?! How?!" He seemed excited for some reason; which made [____] happy to see that her old friend remained easily amazed.

"I have no idea...I don't know what's happening to me, honestly...When we practiced today; Uraraka asked me how I made Katsuki's attack much bigger at the end— I didn't even know I did that. I thought he did that on his own because he was trying to kill me, for real..."

"Hm, that's interesting. I went to the nurse's office after I fought Kirishima so I didn't get to see you win, I'm sorry."

"It's fine...I barely made it out alive. It's the whole reason why Katsuki wants me to be on his team..."

"What?! Kacchan does?!"

[____] nodded once. "He said something about how if I can enhance his attacks like how I did; then I should be on his team."

"And what did you say?!"

"I said yes but now I'm afraid to tell him I have no idea how I do it...I sort of just wanted to be his friend and thought that was a good way to start..."

Midoriya chuckled. "Don't worry, Amacchan, if you want to, I can help you figure out what's causing your quirk to amplify like this..and as long as you're with Kacchan's group, you can practice all you want so we can figure out how you do it!"

"Izuku..." She whined his name; "You're my best friend! Thank you!"

It was the first time she called anyone that; and she was really glad it was Izuku who she said it to. He was, after all, the very first person who tried protecting her when they were kids.

"Your destination is on the right." The virtual assistant on Midoriya's smart phone interrupted the heartfelt moment.

"Ah! So this is where Amacchan and her family lives! It's in a very nice area, too!" Midoriya admired the white mansion in front of him.

"Yeah, my mom likes to show off her money like this...Honestly, though, I begged her to buy a regular sized two-bedroom home so we don't catch any attention around here but she wanted a house big enough to have some live-in employees with us..."

[____] was trying to clarify this, but it seemed like Izuku wasn't listening at all since he was searching something up on his phone. "Wow! The realtor site says this place has 15 bedrooms and 10 baths! And a pool!"

"We won't even use half those rooms— let alone bathrooms..." [____] wished at that moment that her parents wouldn't be so irresponsible with their profits. She knew she couldn't complain, though, since it wasn't her who was working, currently. "It's just gonna be me and a couple of maids and butlers for the rest of the year, anyway..."

Midoriya locked his phone screen before putting it away. "Eh? So, Amacchan, does that mean you're going to be living here by yourself for that long?"

"Yep. My mom is going on an international fashion tour until mid-February. My dad will be joining her for the most part as her acting manager but he said he will try to visit me whenever he can, that's only if he's a certain amount of hours away from Japan..."

The freckled boy gave her a sympathetic look. "Amacchan, if you ever feel lonely while your parents are gone, you can always hang out with me after school— I'm free all the time, well...sometimes I'm busy, studying, but that's only when there's exams and midterms that we have to prepare for..."

"I'm used to it...but, thanks anyway. Did you want to exchange our emails, Izuku?" She shyly raised her phone to her cheek. "We can get a hold of each other faster, this way."

"Y-Y-Yeah..." Midoriya already had half of the girls in his class' numbers saved on his contact lists. There was no real reason for him to feel nervous about getting another female's name on there. "L-L-Lets do it..."

'His face is really red...How cute.' [____] smiled at him.

As they were getting ready to part ways after putting eachother's names on their devices, [____]'s father thought it was a good idea to embarrass his only child. He had just heard her cheerful voice from the inside of the house, so he was 100% sure she was out there.

"[____]!! Oh, my precious baby! Papa missed you, he was worried sick! Come here, my princess, give your loving father a hug!" His eyes were closed when he greeted her, so he had no idea that the person he cuddled wasn't actually his daughter.

It was Midoriya & he was suffocating him by holding him tighter. "[____], your hair is short! Oh, did you decide to cut it without telling us?! Your first day coming home late and already changing your look like this! Are you rebelling against us?!

Is this what it's going to be like, from now on?! You grow boobs one moment— and the next!! You're off to nomikai events with every boy that you meet!!"

"Dad...You should probably open your eyes." [____] coughed a couple of times. "Also, stop talking like that!!"

"A boy?! Who are you, and what are your intentions with my daughter?! Why did you come here?! Do you plan to ask me for her hand?! I won't allow it!!"

"Dad..! Seriously?! I don't want you to scare him off! He's just my friend!" [____] was physically too tired to open up another portal and send him 1,000 miles away. Instead, she just tugged on his shirt. "Don't be embarrassing, please!"

"M-My name is Midoriya Izuku, sir!" He acted like if he was being recruited for the self-defense force and fixed his posture. "I have nothing but the best intentions in mind, sir! She is a great friend in my eyes, sir!"

"Izuku, you can cut that out...my dad is just an idiot, he's not even a hero, you know...He's kinda useless."

"Ahh, [____], why are you so mean to me?! You never called your papa an 'idiot' or 'useless' before! You really are rebelling against me! Raising a teenager is gonna he harder than I thought!" Manato was no longer pretending to shed tears— he was actually crying right there and then.

[____] apologized. Maybe hanging out with Bakugo was already starting to take a toll on her. "I just had a long day...I want to go to sleep already..."

"But doesn't your friend want to come in for a snack?" [____]'s Mom appeared basically out of nowhere; since the portals that she opened could look invisible to the naked eye.

"Hi, mom..." — "My love, how long were you listening to us for?!"

"Long enough to know that our 15 year old daughter made you cry."

"H-Himeko Amachi..!" Midoriya gasped at the hero model. "C-Can you please sign my picture of you?!"

"Oh! It's a young fanboy!" Himeko shoved Manato out of her way to eagerly meet [____]'s classmate up close. "What did you want me to sign?! Is it my latest issue of Bejean?!"

"Mom!" [____] exclaimed. "He's my age! He doesn't read those dirty magazines!"

"A lot of guys start looking at many lewd things when they're 14 or 15, [____] it's nothing to be embarrassed about—"

"— That's not my point!! Dad! Say something about this!!" [____] urged Manato to end the conversation.

"I'm on it." His fatherly side escaped as he placed a heavy hand on Izuku's shoulder. "Midoriya, son, Urecco has better pictures and I recommend it— Ow, ow, ow!!"

Himeko, out of jealousy, pulled on her husband's ear to move him out of the scene. "We will talk about this later, darling. Let me just sign the boy something and send [____] upstairs, okay?"

"Izuku, I'm so sorry about my parents. They're not always this terrible." [____] thought about expanding her apology, but then figured out that there was no point in doing so. "Actually, I'm lying. They're the worst."

"Well..., I, uh..." Midoriya wasn't paying attention to whatever was happening around him since he was too busy searching through his backpack to find one of his many hero analysis journals. An old composition book with the number 5 written on it was the one he pulled out. "I was only nine years old when I made this...So it may not be so good, but...I was hoping you could sign it."

He opened the paperback for Himeko to see. She smiled really wide when she saw the page. "Ah, you drew me! How adorable!"

"Wait; honey, let me see that—" Manato tried to take a peek but his wife shoved his face away with great, raw force.

"No, you go read your Urecco mags!" The model pulled out a pink pen that she kept hidden under her bra and signed the page. "Here you go, Izuku-chan ♡!"

[____] didn't get to see the drawing, but it wasn't what she wanted to do, anyway. "Ummm, Izuku...? Why did you draw my mom when you were nine years old?!"

"I-It's actually because I enjoy studying others' quirks, Amacchan...! It's nothing like what you think it might be!" He was quick to grab another one of his older notebooks to show her a really bad drawing of Katsuki as a kid.

"Kacchan was one of the first people I began to study, you see— I didn't have a quirk until the beginning of this year, so—"

"The beginning of this year? That's a little too long to be quirkless. What a rare thing..." [____]'s father began thinking back to something his best friend would say. "Midoriya, you don't happen to be Hisashi and Inko's kid, are you?"

"Inko?" Himeko raised an eyebrow at her husband. The thought of him knowing another woman before meeting her was making her feel pure rage. "Who is that?!"

"Yes, they are my parents, sir!"

"Manato......" his wife began pinching his cheek, infuriated. "How do you know this boy's mom, ehhhh??"

"Ahh— Honey, Inko was just a classmate. I heard Masaru talk about how her child was quirkless while [____] was in grade school...They really thought he had no quirk at all."

"Oh, Masaru, that friend of yours..." Himeko suddenly forgot all about her jealousy when she remembered that it's been a long time since she has heard that name. "When am I going to meet him? We've been married for so long, it's about time you invite your best friend for dinner now that we bought another house in Japan."

When [____]'s parents were in high school, they were in completely different cliques. Himeko didn't remember many of her classmates; she only had eyes for one guy and that was the person she ended up marrying even though back then, he never committed to one person. So, whenever her husband mentioned other people, specifically members of the opposite sex, she always felt like they were his exes.

Manato pretended like she didn't ask anything and tried to listen to Inko's kid. "So, you said you study quirks, Midoriya?!"

"Hey, don't ignore me, useless husband!"

While they started to have a conversation, [____] skimmed through the rest of Izuku's notes. She was amazed by how much thoughts he would write down about others' quirks. 'I don't even know how my own power works...If anyone is gonna figure out what is happening to me right now, I feel like Izuku has a better chance at doing it, than myself...'

[____] turned the pages back to the Katsuki sketch she first saw, judging by all the eraser marks and clearer handwriting, she assumed his was the most updated profile from the entire book. "So that's what he meant when he said you used to follow him in middle school..."

"Eh? No, that's not what it was...I used to just hang out with him...But I guess...He hardly ever wanted me around so he would say that I follow him without his permission..."

Her mother over heard all of this; and she crossed her arms when she caught a hold of the situation. "Eeeeehh...So [____], you stayed out late on your first day of school today because you wanted to hang out with a group of boys?"

"BOYS?!" Manato began to choke in midair. "WERE THEY COLLEGE BOYS?!"

"No! They're just my classmates!" [____] simplified it. "And just so you know, I went to the mall today to buy some products because someone told me that she will take care of all the back-to-school shopping and I assumed she would purchase stationery items for the year instead of just clothes!"

Himeko laughed at her daughter's answer, looking elsewhere. "Oh? I wonder who would do such a thing, hehehe..."

"Don't pretend like it wasn't you, mom!"

"Amacchan, it's getting late." Izuku hated to intervene the family's discussion, but he had to remind her of the time. "I should go home."

"Why don't you spend the night here?" Himeko offered, as if it wasn't a crime for a woman her age to ask such a thing to a high school boy. "We have a lot of extra rooms, our butler can take you and [____] to school tomorrow, on time."

'Getting to school together at the same time, and off the same car...People will just get the wrong idea!' [____] was starting to panic but there was no need, since her best friend politely declined.

"Thank you, Amacchan's kind mom! But my own mom will be worried for me, and I promised her that I'll be home before midnight. Therefore, it was very nice meeting you in person!" He shook her hand before doing the same thing with her husband.

"Same for you, Amacchan's dad! You have a lovely home, sir."

Manato sniffed, "You're one of the good ones...aren't you, boy...?"

"Amacchan; I'll see you at school tomorrow, okay?"

"Izuku, we can get you a ride home. So you don't have to walk in the dark for such a long time..." [____] offered.

"It's okay, Amacchan! You probably have a lot to unpack— I don't want to be a burden to your family or anybody else! I will text you when I'm home, don't worry about me!"

"Are you sure...?!" She asked but it knew that his answer wouldn't change since he was already jogging his way out of the street.

Himeko lightly pulled on her daughter's arm to get her to walk inside their home. "Come on, sweetie, let me run you a warm bath and then you can have some dinner; yes?"

"Did dad cook, again?"

🌸🌸🌸🌸

After getting off the shower and changing into her nightgown, [____] poured everything she had on her school bag onto the kitchen table.

Her mom was drinking lavender tea and sitting on a dining chair. "You bought all that makeup for yourself?"

"Before you ask— no, I wont let you call a stylist or a makeup artist for me. I want to learn how to do things on my own." She scattered all the items around, in search for the small phone accessory she was searching for earlier. "Aha! I found it!"

"Ooh, that's a pretty pen." Himeko grabbed the gift that Todoroki had given her that day. The only reason it survived Katsuki's attack was because she didn't place it in her shopping bag after it happened. She had it on her school bag, along with the phone strap, all day long.

"A lilac rose...and it's branded, too..." the model studied the expensive pen by looking for a price online. "50,000 yen for this beauty, can you believe that?"

"What?!" [____] snatched the simple-looking pen out of her mother's hands. "Why is it so expensive?!"

"Well, the grip is made out of real gold , so..."

"It is?!" The girl hadn't noticed, it wouldn't make sense for a pen to have real gold. "I have to give it back! I can't accept this!"

"So, you didn't buy this?"

"Of course not! It was a gift from one of my classmates. He said it was because I helped him pick up some items— the stuff he picked up wasn't close to expensive as this pen!"

"So it comes from a boy...Hmmmmm...." Her mom took a long sip of tea before looking straight into [____]'s eyes. "Marry him."

"What?!"

"He's obviously rich! And he obviously loves you! A boy doesn't give gifts like that to just any girl!" She had enough experience to back up her words, "Besides, a lilac rose...You know what Manato's mom used to tell me about roses?

It's a love confession."

[____] began sweating from the suspense in her mother's tone. "Yeah I know, but it's not even a real rose and he and I just met today...I highly doubt he knows anything about the meanings behind flowers, and I'm 90% sure he already has a girlfri—"

"[____], you're no fun at all...Why don't you just go for it, anyway? You're not ugly, you know? It's possible for boys to fall in love with you the first time they see you. You were blessed with mommy's looks but cursed with daddy's intelligence."

"Those are the kind of words that make you seem vain, mom..." [____] bit her thumb for a moment, trying to think of ways she could reject somebody's feelings without damaging a friendship.

'I never got asked out. I never had to say 'no' to people, and I always thought that's how the rest of my life was going to be! I can't be getting hit on by boys like this, not when I only have one guy on my mind...'

Her phone vibrated on the glass table, indicating that she had gotten a text. "It's from Izuku."

She was about to type a reply until another message appeared on the top of her screen.

'Did Katsuki save my number when I tried calling it through his cell phone?! What a sly thing to do!'
