"Aren't they?" While she gaped at the big screen outside the grounds, which showed how the students practiced, Izuku agreed. "I'm so lucky to be in this class with everyone else...And with you, too, Amacchan!"

"Izuku, you know you can call me by my first name, right? You don't have to keep using that old nickname you gave me years ago..."

"O-Oh? M-M-Maybe I will...." She watched her friend blush like crazy over nothing.

"But being called 'Amacchan' by you is fine too. You can call me whatever you'd like." [____] wasn't helping the situation for the shy boy.

Thankfully, the score board flashed a new pair of letters to distract everybody from their conversations.

"Team Todoroki vs Team Sero"

Once the next pairs of students were announced to come forward, [____] took a glance at Todoroki in his hero costume. There was something about him that really caught her attention.

'Maybe it's the hair...Or his eyes...Or that burn mark...I wonder what happened to him.'

As she became more curious, her partner gave away a few answers by informing; "Amacchan, you know, Todoroki's quirk is really awesome. He can do pyrokinesis and cryokinesis at the same time."

"Oh; is that why his hair and eye color is different like that? How awesome...White and crimson hair...It looks good."

"Doesn't your mom have white hair, Amacchan?"

"Yeah but she bleaches it all the time. To be born with hair like that...it must be rare."

"You ever wonder if he has it 'like that' down there, too?" Mina, who was listening to their entire conversation, broke into it to ask out loud. "Or if his left armpit's hairs are red and his right side they're white?"

"I- I never thought of those t-things..." Izuku became embarrassed from that sort of thought.

[____], on the other hand, raised an eyebrow in response. "You know, now that you mention it..."

"Y-Y-You're serious about it, Amacchan?!"

The bright yellow eyed girl laughed out loud. "I knew you and I would get along!"

"Deku!" Ochaco and Tenya joined the group after listening to Mina's loud laughter. "Are you going to change into your hero costume soon?"

"Oh! I forgot for a while!"

"Hero costume?" [____] mentally slapped herself for not figuring out that everyone was entering the arena with one, while she hadn't received one yet.

"Amacchan, you haven't designed one?"

"My mom made the decision of me attending here not so long ago. She didn't mention anything about a hero costume...But now that you mention it, I should of asked someone, I can't enter a hero course without a hero costume!"

"What about a hero name?" The short brown-haired girl asked.

"I haven't thought of one, either..."

"How irresponsible." Tenya hadn't spoken to [____] before. It made the girl feel even more guilty that those were his first words towards her. "Well, what are you gonna do?"

"I don't know."

"You can wear your gym uniform in the meantime." Mr. Aizawa was zipped up in his sleeping bag, lying on the floor beside the group.

'Has he been here all along?!' [____] pulled down her skirt again, just because she felt a sudden shiver in her entire body from self consciousness.

"Stay after class so I can give you the forms to fill out regarding your hero costume. You have to have it done by the end of the week."

"O-Okay..."

[____] went to the girls locker room to change into her gym uniform. She was more than happy to find out that it was left unaltered by her mother.

'I wonder if I could just wear this all day instead of my skirt...' She enjoyed the comfortability of the fabric while walking back to the grounds arena.

"Oh no, why me?..." she whispered in disbelief. "I have the worst luck, don't I?"

"Amacchan! There you are!" Izuku waved his hand over the crowd of students to call her over. "It's our turn! We're up against Kacchan and Kirishima!"

She slowly reached the front of the ground beta where her rivals were standing.

"[____], don't worry! It's your first day so I'll go easy on 'ya!" Kirishima's hero costume exposed his six pack, and that was already making the girl feel nervous.

'Get it together, [____]! Don't get distracted!'

"You're gonna die." Katsuki gave her a smug look.

'His hero costume...It's so flashy. Wait, are those grenades hanging by his hip?"

"Alright you know the drill, heroes vs 'villains'... Don't get hurt in there." Mr. Aizawa failed to explain to the new student what exactly, 'the drill' meant.

"Deku, [____]! Good luck!" Ochaco cheered on her peers as the door to the beta opened.

'That girl is so cute...Katsuki called her 'round face' earlier....I wonder if it's supposed to be an insult? It's so much better than what he calls me..'

"Wait, what are we supposed to do?!" [____] panicked because she was being inattentive.

"There's six innocent bystanders inside, well they're actually cardboard cutouts of some of our classmates...So the heroes, which is us, gotta rescue them before time runs out. Kacchan's team is playing the villains this time so they're gonna try to stop us."

The girl nodded after he explained that as if she knew what she was going to do, but then the realization hit that she hadn't used her quirk for saving others at all. This was her first time attending a hero course and she had only used her powers to make her life a little easier or to throw food at Katsuki.

"He said I was gonna die..." She repeated his words to her partner. "Does he say that a lot?"

"Amacchan, don't be nervous. If anything happens to you, just yell out my name and I'll save you. Okay?" Midoriya assured her before the practice bell rung.

"Thanks but...I'll be fine."

She was not fine.

Even while using her quirk to jump through building after building in search of the cardboard cutouts, she couldn't find a single one.

She had to take a one minute breather after a few moments, "I wonder if the villains already took them..."

An explosion, that happened four or five buildings away from where she was standing, alarmed her that one of her classmates was probably after her.

She traveled to another location, encountering Kirishima with two cutouts, one of Mina and one of Minoru. "[____], if you admit defeat now I don't have to attack you or hurt them, you know."

She genuinely smiled at his warning, "I thank you for your advice but I'm supposed to fight you head on, right?"

"Well...You don't even have your hero costume on, I'd hate to push you to a limit. It's not really fair."

While Kirishima began to doubt his team leader's plan, which was to "collect and burn them all", [____] noticed a familiar looking hair color using her peripheral vision.

It was hidden between two buildings' walls, in a dark corner and inside an empty trash bin. 'That's Todoroki's cut out!'

"Then again...How will you know what limits you have if you don't give it your all...huh?" The guy suddenly dropped the two fake classmates to protect himself from Midoriya, who jumped towards him to attack.

"Amacchan! Save them!" Her team leader ordered.

She transported the innocent bystanders to her hands using her quirk and then herself; towards Todoroki's cardboard version. Then finally, went to the top of the building.

"Eh? Where she go?!" Kirishima looked around him after noticing the new girl had taken his hostages.

"I'm sorry Kirishima! But I'm gonna have to take you down!" Izuku tried not to use too a lot of his power, since he had not learned to control much of it yet.

[____] couldn't plan her landing very well and Deku's attack impacted many of the buildings nearby, including the one she was aiming to find safety on.

So thanks to the shaky concrete, she ended up falling and dropping the victims on the floor, landing on Mineta's cutout. "Oww....If this was for real, I'd totally fail! But still...I was able to get away for now..."

'Izuku's quirk is really powerful, though! I'm pretty sure I'll be fine as long as I don't encounter—'

"Hey, fat cheeks."

The leader of the opposite team picked up Todoroki's board, which he had used as a decoy. He had another three of their classmates with him. "I knew I didn't even have to look around for you. You're stupid enough to fall for traps like these."

'This was a trap?!' She held on tight to the two remaining cut outs. "H-Hand them over."

Even though on the inside she was freaking out deciding on what to do, she still decided to play along and remained in her stance.

"Or else what?? You're gonna run away like you just did with shitty hair!?"

It took [____] a few seconds to figure out he was talking about his partner, however she shook her head and ignored his question. "I said, let them go."

"Heh, you think words are gonna stop me!?" He used an explosion to turn the pieces of cardboard into ashes. One by one.

Aoyama. Kaminari. Asui.

'He plays a good villain...' [____] gulped down her fears and stopped him at the last one. "Let him go, Katsuki!"

"Ahhh?!" It was the first time [____] had called him by his first name, and for some unexplainable reason, he was angry. "You wanna save Icyhot so badly? Attack me, then!"

Kirishima was defeated; unfortunately Midoriya was out too since he was beaten up by his quirk. Recovery girl was called and she was on her way to kiss the reckless boy's injuries but in the meantime, they were watching the screen along with their classmates.

"I feel bad for [____]..." Mina had really taken a liking to her, so much that she wanted to cry when she saw her being chased by Bakugo. "She's doing all of this so she could save me and Todoroki."

"And me!!!" The Grape Juice hero added on. "She fell right on top of me, did you guys see that?!"

While he drooled over that; Midoriya studied his friends' battle. "Amacchan...you can do this!"

After getting hit by a handful of explosions, [____] was at the peak of her limit. She used her portals only to save her cardboard friends from turning into ashes by transporting them on various areas around them.

"Are you tired?! I'm not even trying!" Her classmate laughed at her exhaustion. "You can admit defeat or die!"

'I can't...let him win, yet...I need a plan...'

She used some of her remaining stamina to grab onto Todoroki and escape in the middle of an explosion. Although she knew it wouldn't take long for him to find her running to the exit.

"Why do you keep trying to run away from me, even when I got you cornered like this?" He shot himself up in the air and used his quirk to get to the exit first. "I finally get to have some fun with you."

"Y-You're starting to sound like a pervert." [____] knew it would get him mad, that's exactly why she caught him off guard with the comment. "Especially because of what you did to me, last time I went to your house..."

Outside of the arena, their classmates whispered to themselves about what in the world she was talking about.

"Tch." Katsuki just knew that rumors were gonna start circling around them if he didn't do anything to shut her up. "That's it, I'm done messing around!"

He shot him self up in the air, where [____] couldn't see him anymore.

'I know if I try to run to the exit he'll just aim for me...But he's so far up there I won't know where he'll attack...'

So she decided to wait there, focusing on blocking the next explosion she sees.

Then it got quiet...[____] could hear herself gulping every now and then. 'Should I just go for it?'

The moment she took one step forward, she heard an immense blast from the sky and down came Katsuki, along with a rainfall of explosive attacks.

She was able to cover herself while it lasted, but the smoke from the crashing buildings was making it hard for her to see where the villain would strike again.

'I can't use my quirk anymore. Maybe I should just give up...'

But she wouldn't fall on her knees since she felt like she still had a chance. She wiped the sweat off her forehead with the palm of her hand while giving herself courage to try one last time. "I can send one of his attacks back at him...I'll just wait until it's a stronger one...'

Fortunately she didn't have to wait long; since Katsuki was thinking about ending the battle with a stun grenade. "DIE!"

She used the last amount of stamina she had left to open four doors. One in front of her to protect herself and collect the explosion, two on Katsuki's sides to distract him and have him propel back up into the air; where the last portal would be right behind him.

The impact hit him back; just like she had planned but it definitely wasn't the same amount of power he had thrown at her.

It was much more intense.

He fell to the ground but landed on his palms and knees as the timer went off.

Outside the grounds, [____] fell to floor as soon as the gate had opened. She let go of the cut outs and positioned herself in a fetus position. "I'm sorry...I wasn't able to save the other three..."

"Nice work, [____]!" Kirishima was the first to congratulate her on winning; even though the girl was expecting him to be upset about his team losing.

"Yeah! You were so cool!" Ochaco did the same thing right after. "How did you make the explosion get so much bigger just like that?"

"How did I what, now?"

"[____], you didn't have to push yourself that hard for me!" Mina helped her new friend get back up and swept off the dust from her uniform using her hand. "I owe you one! Todoroki does too!"

"And me!" The shortest guy in their class gave her a thumbs up. "I owe you a lot more than they do."

He wiggled his thin eyebrows at her and [____] awkwardly laughed it off. "Oh, and Izuku?"

"He's in the infirmary, he usually ends up there after practice but he comes back before school ends." Mina shook it off as if it was not a big deal.

"Never mind that, though. What were you talking about back there when you told Bakugo he was sounding like a pervert...What did he do to you??" She began to ask what most of their classmates were wondering about.

"Oh— That..."

"[____]! Tell me the truth, did my buddy try to do something unmanly to you?! 'Cause I can tell him something, if you want me to!" Kirishima grabbed on to her shoulders to try to shake the truth out of her. "What did he do?! When did you go to his house, anyway?!"

"Unmanly? What do you mean—?" [____] stopped speaking since she heard the rustling sound of Bakugo's combat boots coming closer amid their classmate's loud voices.

"Hey..."

[____] eyed out her surroundings as if she was searching for an emergency exit somewhere. "I don't want a rematch!"

'He almost killed me back there!'

She hid behind Kirishima since he was the only guy close enough to her. Although the red haired guy moved when his best friend signaled him to do so by tilting his chin once.

"I— I beat you and it was fair! The exam is over, you can't touch me!" She felt exposed somehow after their classmates basically moved aside to make a pathway for him to get to her.

She closed her eyes, hoping she wouldn't get hit by another one of his explosions but to everybody's surprise she got hit by something more insane.

An invitation.

"I want you on my team."
