The next you two were spending time in the city. You needed food and at your place there wasn't much left. At first he didn't wanted to come but he figured if he wouldn't,you wouldn't buy food that last for at least a month. Instead you would buy,that would at least last for 2 weeks minimum. So he tagged along only for that. After the grocery shopping,you went with him to a clothing store. You needed a few new t-shirts and sweatpants and maybe you'll buy a few hoodies. You wanted to buy a few clothing for dabi too. You two almost reached your destination when someone called you by your 'deadname'
This can't be happening right now right ?

You thought and asked yourself. You stopped in your tracks,looking at Dabi,he was confused and looked at the person who called you by 'that' name. He looked at her emotionless then at your hand,which started to squeeze lightly his hand. He looked up to meet your eyes,he could tell the panic in them. He noticed you swallowed hard and then back at her. That's when it dawned onto him. He pulled you closer to him and looked at her dead in the eyes for a moment before speaking up.

"That's not their name. Their name is
Y/N. Get it right." He simply stated and at the same time stroking your hand,that he's holding the entire time.

"Excuse you and you are who ? She's my daughter" the women replied not amused in the slightest.

"Dabi let's just go,she's not worth it." You whispered only for him to hear. You wanted to create a little space between you two and pull him with you but his hold on you got tighter and he shook lightly his head in disagreement.

"It's your son or nobody to you producer. The name's Dabi by the way and last time I checked,Y/N told me,that they don't have contact with you anymore because you wouldn't give a single shit about them. So why don't you just mind your own fucking business." He said with full of venom in his voice. Then he released you and pulled you to that store you wanted to go earlier. You ended up wiyh 2x hoodies,4 T-shirts and 4x sweatpants for yourself. You bought Dabi whatever he wanted. From trousers to Jackets. You went home afterwards and made lunch together.

"Thanks for earlier but you didn't have to to put up a fight for me. She won't change and was always like this." You told him after you two finished cleaning the kitchen.

"Nah it was still needed to be done. She needs to know her place and I knew you are uncomfortable around her. Including exhausted because of her,you've been through this o repeat for to long,explaining everything. Now it was just my turn. I'm staying in your house for free and for way to long too. At least I don't own you to much now." He said. He saw you looked pale a bit today.

"By the way,you look pale." He pointed out.

"I'm feeling sick too a bit,maybe it's because of the stress I was in a few moments ago. I should be fine tho." You honestly spoken to him. He didn't looked convinced and touched your forehead.

"Get in bed idiot. You're burning up. I'll get the pills while you lay down.l and relax. End of discussion." He simply replied not letting you a chance to start an argument. You did what he said and he came back with the medicine. You swallowed it and felt really weak. Dabi could tell it. He would just stay there,close to you and just take care of you.

"Thank you for everything dabi." You whispered half asleep about to pass out from exhaustion and he just looked at you deeply for a few seconds then he stroked your hair.

"Get some rest and don't thank me. I should be the one thanking you for taking care of me." He whispered back into your ear and then you fell asleep. Dabi watching you the whole time. Making sure that you're fine or if you need something,that he would get it for you.
