"Hey, come with me for a moment, would you?" Were the words spoken to you by Shoto as he set down his pencil. You glanced up from where you were craned over the test book, trying to solve the maths equations Aizawa had set as homework for the class. Kindly, Todoroki had offered to help you at his house, and you have readily accepted. Spending more time with Todoroki was always a win, and really you were lucky. You were the only one in 1-A he'd offered to help. He'd made sure that his father wouldn't be around for you to meet, but that was alright. You were overwhelmingly happy, anyway.
"Huh? Why?" You set down your own pencil as Shoto stood from the other side of the coffee table. "I thought we weren't going to take a break until we'd finished this page?"
"Just this once." He responded and you could've swore you saw the ghost of a smile on his face, but you dare not point it out. He held out one hand towards you, and with one more mournful look towards your half-finished homework (You hated it, but it was better to get it done sooner rather than later), you put your hand in his. His hand was icy cool but not unpleasant, soft but his grip was strong as he helped hoist you to your feet.
You expected him to let go, but his fingers remained laced through yours as he began padding, barefoot to the front door of his house.
"Oh- The weather is kinda bad right now." You commented, peering out of the glass window. The weather really had gotten strange. It was warm and sticky weather, but it was overcast with dark clouds and it was beginning to spit with rain outside.
"I thought it was quite nice, really." Shoto commented softly, opening the door and stepping out onto the wooden porch, you, of course, being pulled along behind. Not that you really minded. The air was fresh and inviting, warm and gentle on your balmy skin, the rain pouring all around while you and Shoto remained dry under the shelter of the porch.
"Well... Actually..." You glanced around, watching the scenery, the gradual darkening of the asphalt path with the rain, feeling the warm, thick atmosphere. Through the clouds some distance away, the first streams of colour were shining through, collecting into a rainbow over the slate tile roofs. "Yeah... I guess it is pretty nice. But why did we come out here, exactly?"
You glanced up to Shoto, rested across his features was a peaceful smile, chest rising and falling as he took deep breaths of the muggy air. So relaxed and comfortable like this, Shoto really was breath-taking. There were no doubts about that, and there was no avoiding the soft pounding of your heart, nor the way your fingers were gently twisted together with his.
Shoto didn't respond verbally, only turning his smile towards you for a moment, before staring down the porch steps, gently tugging you along behind him.
"Shoto?"You questioned again, but he didn't respond verbally.
He stepped out into the rain, the cold droplets shocking your warm, balmy skin, but it was pleasant, and refreshing. The rain was beginning to come down pretty fast, it wouldn't be long before you were both soaked through, standing bare-foot on the smooth, dampening pavement off from Shoto's porch.
"Sorry..." He said, though he still had the same faint smile on his face as he turned towards you. Something told you that he really wasn't all that sorry. " I know you wanted to get those problems finished, but I could resist..."
"Resist wha-?" You barely had time to respond before his hand slipped from yours and he pulled you to him in a hug, arms coming to wind around your waist as you found yourself gazing up at him from against his chest.
"I've always wanted to share a moment like this. I hope you don't mind."
"No... Not at all." You faintly laughed, a smile stretching across your own face. The rain now felt warm against your skin, your hair dampening and sticking to your head and neck, along with your UA uniform. "I didn't know you were such a sentimental guy, Todoroki."
"Shoto." He corrected, gazing down upon you with soft eyes. "In truth, I didn't either... But when else would I get a chance like this."
"I never pictured you to be the soft type." You just faintly giggled, the sound mixing with the faint patter of the warm summer rain.
"And I never pictured you'd be so beautiful in the rain..." He responded softly, one hand leaving your waist to brush away the damp hair, clinging to the side of your face, his knuckles softly brushing the now heated skin of your cheek.
"Sometimes you say the most unbelievable things, Shoto." You could feel the heat burning in your cheeks, the blush a soft pink dusting across your cheeks. His hand rested against the side of your face, butterflies swooping in your stomach. Slowly, his thumb brushed across the soft pink colour of your cheeks, tracing over the skin.
"You don't believe me?" He responded in a voice equally soft as your own. The world was warm, and comfortable. Humid, but that was okay. You could feel Shoto's body against yours, your own arms snaking around to embrace the boy who was making your heart flutter in your chest like the beat of a butterfly wing.
"I'm not calling you a liar, but..."You slightly shook your head, a fond smile across your face. The thought that Shoto found you attractive was a nice one, even if you thought it to be unlikely in your own mind.
"Well... I've distracted you from our homework I suppose I should make it worth it. I don't see any better time than the present." He mused softly, gaze fixing onto yours, bi-coloured eyes locked onto yours.
"Shoto...?" You mumbled, the intensity of his gaze almost shocking. Of course, he was always very serious, he did have the intense aura, but never had it been directed at you. Never had you felt this type of way, trapped in his gaze and arms.
"I fell in love with you, (Y/N)." Shoto mumbled softly, and all words got trapped in your throat. It felt like your stomach was doing barrel-rolls, or maybe it felt more like free-falling through the air. The palpitations of your heart came quickly, along with the deepening redness of your cheeks. "I know, I'm probably not the idea romantic interest for you, but..."
"Shoto, what do you mean, not ideal?" You could help but laugh faintly, shaking your head. Your brought your hands to rest upon his cheeks, feeling the defined curve of his cheeks bones under your fingertips, the respective slight warmth on one side of his face. "You're just... Perfect? There's no other way to say it."
"I'm really far from that... But thank you." He sighed out softly, eyes easily sliding closed as his head craned down until his rain-dampened forehead could rest against your own. "Dare I... Ask for an answer?"
"Of course, Shoto."Your soft fingertips ghost across his smooth cheek, very lightly crossing the surface of his scar as a smile pulled at your own features. "I return your feelings... I guess I've been hiding it for a while now."
"Really? You mean that?" His bi-coloured eyes opened once more, gazing into yours searchingly. "You aren't just saying that?"
"I'm not, I promise." You responded, admiring his eyes from so close up, the mis-matched colours even more vibrant and hypnotic so close up to yours.
"Then, you wouldn't mind if I did this..."
The words left his slightly parted lips, and it seemed as if time slowed. The air remained sticky and warm, the heavy summer rain had left your both soaked through, the visage of Shoto was so close to yourself, hair slicked to his head and neck, wet UA shirt clinging to his skin, but with the most radiant smile you had ever seen from him. Truly, Shoto Todoroki was stunning.
As thunder rolled loudly overhead, and lightning forked to strike a nearby tree, Shoto's lips descended until they met with yours to take your first kiss.
