Happy Birthday!

To anyone who has a birthday today, the day you are reading this or a few days after or before your birthday - Happy Birthday!!!! I hope you have/will have/have had the greatest birthday ever!

This is a little chapter I wanted to do before finally making myself work on all of the requests I've gotten and didn't do. So to those who have been waiting for a long time, fear not, for I will force myself to write it if I have to because it is what you requested and it's just unfair to not write it.

This is a gender-neutral chapter, just you know.

When (Y/n) opened their eyes, they immediately fell to the alarm clock on their bedside table. The numbers they saw shocked them, to say the least.

'13:47...' they thought, tossing their blanket to the side 'When did it get so late into the day?'

Just as they stood up, their head started spinning and they almost fell. Last-minute they balanced themself enough so that they sat down on their bed, jumping on their mattress a little due to the sudden force.

'Why is my head spinning so much?' The teen groaned, putting a hand to their forehead as if that was going to stop the spinning and the sudden pain that was starting to creep its way to their head.

When they did put their hand on their face though, they felt nothing but their burning hot skin. They didn't notice it until now but they felt really hot, yet cold because of their blanket not engulfing them anymore.

After a minute or so of them just sitting in their bed and trying not to panic, they stood up slowly, catching themself on the nearest furniture, until they were in front of their mirror.

They almost gasped in shock when they saw how flushed their skin was due to their temperature. Their eye bags were darker and bigger than normal. Their eyes teary, them not knowing if it was because of the fever or the pain. Maybe both.

With a sigh, they turned around slowly and made their way back to their bed. When they got under the warm covers the teen reached for their phone, immediately texting their class.

(Y/n): Guys, I think I am sick.
(Y/n): Won't be able to make it to the party you're having for me...;'(

After a few minutes, their phone started buzzing. When they went to check the group chat they saw a lot of 'Get well soon's, 'Don't worry's and crying emojis.

When they read everyone's messages, they felt their phone buzz again, this time from a private message. It was Uraraka.

Ochako: This really sucks...
Ochako: Can't believe you're gonna miss your b-day!!!

(Y/n): I don't really mind as long as I get to feel good...lol

After neither of them responded to that, (Y/n)'s stomach growled and taking their situation of being unable to walk very far without stumbling, they tapped their fingers on the sides of their phone, wondering if they should ask their friend a favor.  When their stomach growled a second time though, they sighed and started typing.

(Y/n): Hey Ochako...

Ochako: Yeah, what's up?

(Y/n): Could you do me a favor and bring me some food please?
(Y/n): I'm starving...

When they saw that their friend had read their message they expected the cloud with the three bouncing dots to appear but that didn't happen. They wondered if they bothered their friend with their request and started typing their apologies when they heard a sudden knock at their door. (Y/n) slowly sat up in their bed, making sure to cover themself with the blanket fully, and allowed the person on the other side of the door in.

After a bit of a wait, while watching their doorknob wiggle up and down repeatedly, the door was opened and in went Ochako and Momo, both caring snacks and drinks. Momo even brought a kettle of water and a box of her tea herbs.

"Here you go (Y/n)! I also brought some medication. It should be somewhere here..." Ochako turned to the little bag she carried in when she dropped the food on her friend.

"I also brought some tea! I think it might help." Momo beamed, already pouring the hot water into one of the fancy teacups she had brought over.

"Guys, I appreciate it--" (Y/n) started, voice groggy "--but I asked for some food. Still, thank you though." They giggled, their friends' behavior making them happy.

"You're welcome!" Ochako beamed, giving them the medication she had retrieved from the bag while Momo was putting their cup of tea on the bedside table next to their phone.

"We should probably leave you for now. You know, to get some rest."

"Yeah, wouldn't want to get sick as well."

"Ochako!" Momo gasped.

"Sorry, sorry." The said girl chuckled, scratching her cheek.

"Don't worry about it. I'll just watch something on my phone and take a few naps." (Y/n) told, already reaching for their device.

"And don't forget to drink your medication!"

"I won't." They reassured. "Thanks again girls."

"No problem!"

And just like that the both of them left, (Y/n) already starting one of the movies they had wanted to watch since forever.

After an hour or so, they started getting sleepy, barely able to keep their eyes open until their movie was over.

When they awoke again, it was already pretty late. Around 17 o'clock. They tried to sit up again, this time their head not spinning as much. They looked over at their nightstand and noticed their half drank tea which by now was probably ice cold. Considering the time, the teen decided to drink some meds again, finishing their tea.

After a few minutes of sitting on their bed to get used to the spinning, they stood up, this time their legs holding them up better than they did earlier.

They decided that going to see their classmates and reassure them that they were better was not a bad idea, so they slowly made their way to their door.

When they opened it though, they were amazed to see the pile of presents that were there. They could guess for some from who they were by the way they were packaged.

There was one with a lot of tape on it. Another one was neatly done, with no creases and almost no tape to be seen. There were some that weren't even packaged but put into a bag with some pictures of either balloons and cake or animals.

When they realized what their friends had done for them they started picking up the presents and putting them into their room. By the end, their desk was almost unseeable.

They entered the common room, the little number of people there not seeing them at first. They coughed a little and then all eyes were on them.

"(Y/n)!" Mina jumped from her seat. "Are you okay? What are you doing here?"

"We were so worried!" Midoriya chimed in.

"Yeah, one moment we were just talking and the next Uraraka was running around like crazy."

"She did seem a little winded out when she came into my room..." (Y/n) chuckled.

"I bet she did. She even got Momo to help her carry everything." Kirishima laughed, remembering how his classmates ran around emptying their shelves and half of their fridge.

"I couldn't even finish half of what they brought me. I promise I'm gonna return the food."

"Don't worry about it (Y/n). Ribbit."

All of them talked a little more about how Uraraka and Yao-momo ran around as if someone was dying, at one point moving to sit on the couch as (Y/n) felt their feet give up on them.

"You know guys--" (Y/n) started to say, putting their cup of water, which was brought to them earlier, down on the table. " I wanted to thank you for the presents. I know not everyone is here but I just felt like I had to say something. Considering I ruined my own birthday party..." They laughed sheepishly.

"Don't worry about the party." Shoji waved one of his hands.

"Yeah, and we couldn't leave you without any presents on your birthday!" Sato cut in. "What kind of birthday would that be!?"

"You guys really are the best!" (Y/n) smiled, noticing that some of their friends are going in for a hug. "Wait, wait, wait! What if you get sick?"

"It would have been worth it!" Mina beamed, hugging them anyway.

And even though they knew the consequences, they allowed their pink friend to hug them, a few other following after. This was really one of the best birthdays they have had. Even with them getting sick.

After I wrote everything I realized that I wrote the character as a girl, not as a neutral gender... Ye, it was fun, so if somewhere you see a 'she' or 'her' or whatever, sorry for that.
