An hour later, they arrived at hawks's apartment.

Hawks: [looking at the time, the looks reads: 12:30 am] it's getting late, we should sleep...shit

Dabi: what is it birdbrain

Hawks: there's only one bed

Keigo: I wanna sleep with Dabi, he's warm.

Dabi: I'll sleep on the couch

Hawks: no you take the bed

Dabi: no

Hawks: yes

Dabi: [sees the bed] we can share. It's big enough to fit all of us unless you're uncomfortable?

Hawks: Nope, I'm good [goes to the bathroom to get ready for bed]

Dabi: [places keigo in the middle of the bed]

Keigo: Dabi?

Dabi: hmmm

Keigo: can you sing the lullaby again?

Dabi: I don't think that's a good idea

Keigo: please

Dabi: I-...no

Keigo: it will help keep the nightmares away

Dabi: ...one song

Dabi: [starts singing safe and sound by Taylor swift]

Keigo: [crawls over to Dabi]

Dabi: [holding keigo, placing him on his chest]

Hawks: [finish getting ready, leaning against the door, shocked that dabi could be soft let alone sing so well and know how to take care of a kid]

Keigo: [slowly falling asleep, listening to dabi sing]

Dabi: [smiles softly, slowly dosing off]

Hawks: ...[couldn't help but feel his chest tighten seeing dabi at ease with his past self]

Next morning

Hawks: [hears his alarm going off] ...

Hawks: [turns over, expecting to see Dabi and younger self]

Hawks: !?!? [Dabi and keigo no where to be seen]

Hawks: Dab- [hears noise in his kitchen, goes to investigate] oh [he sees dabi making food with Keigo]

Keigo: ☺️

Dabi: [small smile on his lips]

Hawks: [leaning against the door frame] who knew you could be soft?

Dabi: !?!?

Keigo: [shyly waves hi]

Hawks: you're good with children

Dabi: [shrugs]

Hawks: do you have kids?

Dabi: ??? Do I look old enough to have kids?

Dabi: [rolls his eyes] don't worry about it. The food is done.

After eating

Hawks: I have hero work to do, I'll be back around 6. Don't go anywhere

Dabi: yeah, sure, whatever [not really paying attention to Hawks]

Dabi: [picks up Keigo]

With Hawks

Hawks: [mutters that little shit]

Sidekick: ??? Something the matter sir?

Hawks: [snapping out of it] don't worry about it.

Sidekick: we interrogated the villain and they said that the quirk will wear off when midnight strikes

Sidekick: your intern is here.

A few hours later

Hawks: [arrived at his apartment's balcony] I'm home

Hawks: dabi? Keigo?

Dabi: in the kitchen [cooking dinner]

Keigo: Dabi

Keigo: I wanna sleep next to you ever night

Dabi: ...you can only do that if you marry me

Keigo: [nods] Can I?

Dabi: !!!! I-... that isn't a good idea.

Keigo: why? I really like you. You're nice. I feel happy around you.

Dabi: ...you can only marry when you're older beside you'll probably forget about me when you're older

Hawks: why don't we eat?

Dabi: set the table for me

Hawks: [uses his feather to grab the utensils and plates]

After dinner

Dabi: [washing the dishes]

Hawks: dabi, we-

Keigo: can I help?

Dabi: you can help dry the dishes [gives keigo a towel and some wet, clean dishes]

Keigo: ☺️ [starts drying]

Hawks: Dabi-

Keigo: done. What else do you need help with?

Hawks: [annoyed at Keigo]

Dabi: why don't you go to the living room and pick a book?

Keigo: [glancing at Hawks] but-

Dabi: I won't be long, okay?

Keigo: okay [hugs dabi]

Dabi: !!!! [Hugs back]

Keigo: [goes to pick a book]

Dabi: what do you want birdbrain?

Hawks: keigo is going to return to his time at midnight.

Dabi: oh...

Hawks: so be prepared and prepare-

There was a crash. Dabi and Hawks shared a look before heading to the living room where Keigo was.

Keigo: owie [rubbing his forehead]

Dabi: [goes to keigo] what happened? Where does it hurt?

Keigo: I was trying to get the book but it was too high. I tried using a stick that was laying around. I got the book out but it hit my forehead.

Dabi: why didn't you come get me? I would have gotten it for you.

Keigo: I wanted to make you proud. Show you I could get it on my own.

Dabi: That doesn't mean you let yourself get hurt just to make me proud of you. I'm proud of you no matter what you do, okay?

Keigo: really?

Dabi: yeah. Does it still hurt?

Keigo: [nods]

Dabi: [picks up Keigo and place him on the kitchen counter] looks like a small bruise, it will heal in a few hours [kisses the bruise on keigo's forehead]

Keigo: thank you

Hawks: ...[his nails digging into the palms of his hand, enough to draw out blood]

Dabi: let's read a story then off to bed.

Keigo: [nods]

Dabi: [picks up Keigo and the book and heads to the bedroom]

Hawks: ...

11:55 pm

Keigo: dabi wake up

Dabi: hmm

Keigo: Dabi

Dabi: what's wrong?

Keigo: why am I glowing? What's going on?

Dabi: ... you're going back

Keigo: back? Back to where?

Dabi: back to your own time, back to where you were before

Keigo: I-I don't wanna g-go. I wanna stay here with you [starts tearing up]

Dabi: shhh don't cry. [Pulling keigo into his arms] we will meet in the future soon

Keigo: p-promise?

Dabi: promise.

Keigo: bye bye touya [kisses dabi on the cheek]

Keigo: ☺️😁 that's my secret [fades into the light]

Midnight has struck and keigo is gone.

Dabi: ... [gets up quietly, heading towards the door]

Hawks: dabi where are you going?

Dabi: heading back to base

Hawks: ...stay

Dabi: your past self isn't here anymore. No need to put up with me anymore

Hawks: I-

Dabi: ?

Hawks: don't go

Dabi: Hawks-

Dabi: how did this happen?

Hawks: that's rich coming from you, with all those burns

Dabi: ...[dabs a little too hard on the cuts]

Hawks: [hiss]

Dabi: [smiles a bit] thought you were a bird, not a cat

Dabi: so how did these cuts happen

Hawks: clenching my hands a little to hard that nails dug into my palms

Dabi: what irritated that much?

Hawks: [shrugs] no clue

Dabi: [wrapping the gauze around hawk's injured hands] done

Hawks: let's go to bed

Dabi: I-

Hawks: you said you would stay if I told you why I had bloody hands

Dabi:...fine, let's go to bed [crawls into bed before dozing off] night Keigo

Hawks: [smiles a bit, seeing dabi at ease] goodnight, Touya [crawls into bed before pulling dabi towards him, wrapping his arms around dabi] sweet dreams [kisses dabi's forehead before falling asleep]
