Sports Festival: The Start

"We're holding the.." Ms. Uraraka paused for dramatic effect.

"Get on with it!" Usagi said jokingly.

"..The Sports Festival!" She said, finally finishing her sentence.

Quickly, murmurs and excited whispers spread throughout the room.

"No way!"

"It's gonna be sweet!"

"We wont show up much.. We're B class after all.."

         "Too Hyped Man!"

"Calm down everybody! The Sports Festival is 2 Weeks away, so you have plenty of time to practice all you want!" Ms. Uraraka said with a big grin on her face.

Izuku had clenched his fist in excitement. He was glad to finally have a chance to show the world what he could do, and that he wasn't useless. He turned to Usagi and grinned, and Usagi grinned knowing what Izuku was thinking.

"Oh wait, there's definitely more! Since U.A. has extra funding, the winning class gets to go to the beach!" Ms. Uraraka said.

The whole class roared in glee.

"What challenges will we have to do when we get there?"

"We don't know until we get there." Ms. Uraraka said as she shrugged.

She gave the class the next period to talk about it. She was listening and finally said. "This reminds me of whenever I did the Sports Festival.. Ah good times.." She sighed remembering the times when she began to fall for Izuku. "I even have some clips of the sports festival, want to see?" She asked as she held a disc up.

There were nods of the head, and yeses in the classroom. She nodded and slid the disc into the slot. The screen of the T.V. blinked into life and showed a girl with bobbed-cut hair and rosy cheeks. She was fighting what seemed to be a stick of dynamite with blonde hair. She ran up to the boy, her hands slightly touching the ground, and took his attacks head on. It went on like this for about a minute. Then she grinned, touched her hands together, and rocks rained through the air. The Blonde boy easily exploded the rocks, but he looked taken aback. she was flown across the arena, and slid across the ground. The blonde boy stared at her, and she got up. He said something to her, that the the students couldn't make out. She started to walk towards him, but she collapsed from exhaustion. Ms. Uraraka flicked the T.V. off and smiled at the students.

"This was of me fighting the #2 hero, well, as you guys know him-" she was cut off by the whole class shouting.

"KACCHAN!" They shouted, and began to ask questions repeatedly.

"Calm down, we were in the same class together-"

"Wait, Kacchan is one of the younger heroes, how could you two be in the same class?" A kid named Vadiu asked. Izuku silently noted this was the other bully.

There was some silence, and Ms. Uraraka looked as if she were about to murder someone. "I'M 26, JUST LIKE HIM!!" She yelled as the class winced.

Izuku didn't understand why people were confused on the topic, she was obviously very young.

"Anyways, we will be giving you two weeks to prepare for the events, and we expect you to work very hard on your technique, quirks, and thinking." Uraraka~Sensei advised.

"More work? C'mon, we have enough school work, so we're barely gonna be able to work on our quirks, much less school work!" A girl named Point argued.

Uraraka~Sensei put her fingers on her chin and grinned. "Oh, how hard that would be! BUT! You'll only have to work on your quirks! For school work will be canceled for now!" She said smiling more.

Everyone cheered at this, and began to talk to each other. Until one person spoke up, who didn't talk much.

"B..But we c..can't practice our quirks outside of sc..school.." A boy said.

The class turned around and looked at the source of the noise, not having heard the voice before. It was a green boy with antennae, almost like an ant.

"Well, Akira, we have already thought ahead! The school will be open 24/7 for the two weeks! The dorms will be open as well, for non-stop training!" Uraraka~Sensei announced with her arms spread wide.

More cheering, and a little 'Woo-hoo' from Akira.

"Now then class, we will begin the training!" She said, with her hand coming down in a 'go' signal. The class scrambled into the changing room, then eventually outside onto UA's field.

UA's Field

Everyone individual had to sit down and think about what they needed to improve about themselves or their quirks. Izuku had a sit down and thought about his quirk. He realized he hadn't been using his full power ever since he was on the track running. He could feel he could do so much more. But the time frame wouldn't allow that. Maybe I should work on techniques.. Izuku thought. His legs were crossed and he kept scratching on his head. He heard an "Ah-ha!" From Usagi and Usagi.. Ran back inside? Izuku didn't have time to think about that. "The best way to improve my technique would be to have a flurry have attacks all at once.." Izuku said as he began to go on a muttering spree. He continued to solidify his idea, as some of the other students got up and started to work on their technique.

Uraraka

It had been a couple hours since the start and the students had been moving along greatly. But still.. She had something itching in the back of her head. They haven't been in real fights, so they wouldn't know the best way to apply their quirks. She blew her whistle after a few minutes of pondering.

The class stopped what they were doing and gathered.

"I called you here because I had an idea." Uraraka explained. "Since you haven't had any actual combative experience, we should have some sparring matches against your fellow classmates!"

There was some silence, and an unsettling feeling coming over the air. They were all nervous to go against each other.

Uraraka sighed at this. "You can't be full fledged heroes if you're nervous about showing your powers to one another! You'll be doing this on a daily basis when you become heroes! Get used to it, suck it up!" She said with a stern look on her face.

"Now choose your partner, and anyone who doesn't gets homework and doesn't get training time! I'm serious! This isn't a fluke like it was when you did the quirk capability test!" She threatened, adding venom into her words. The students turned to one another and began to talk about who would fight who.

That might put some iron in their blood.. Uraraka thought to herself.

Izuku

He was talking to Tisho when the main boy who had been bullying Izuku walked up to him, Enki. Izuku sighed, "What do you want?" He inquired with an indifferent voice.

"I would like to fight you. To put you in your place of course." He stated, crossing his arms with a challenging smirk on his face.

"Oh c'mon Enki, you don't have to treat him like that-" Tisho began, but Izuku put his hand up.

"Sure." Izuku said, with a shadow passing over his eyes. He looked up and smiled. "TIme for payback, isn't it?" Izuku said.

Enki took a step back, feeling the malicious aura coming off of the boy. Even Tisho flinched a bit. Where this aura, this feeling came from, was unknown to Enki and Tisho, and even Izuku.

Enki scoffed, and wiped his UA shorts off. "Th..Then lets fight." Enki said, hesitation dripping from his words.

Izuku raised his hand and waved Uraraka~Sensei over. "We would like to go first!" He said to her, showing a more gentle face. She smiled, and nodded her head towards the arena. Enki and Izuku walked up to it, and took their places.

"This will be a fair fight, and if I see it as getting to intense, I will stop the fight, then and there, and the winner will be decided by who had better technique during the fight. Do you two agree to these terms?" Uraraka~Sensei said.

They both nodded, with stone cold faces. This will not just be a battle of Technique and Power, it would be a battle of wills.

Get him, Izuku. Uraraka Thought with a slight grin on her face.

             "Three" He shifted his weight.

"Two" He heard blood rushing through his ears.

"One" Izuku faintly heard this, his heart beating loud.

"Go" Izuku didn't hear the word, as he was rushing forward. The wind pounded against his head. He grinned a bit, feeling released. He looked at Enki, who was lunging to the side. He slammed his foot onto the ground, and skidded to a halting stop.

              All was still.

With a slight whoosh, a black box appeared from thin air beside Enki. Izuku jumped back, and put his arm in front of him, thinking an attack would pursue. His eyes had been welded shut, but he took a peek, after deciding there was nothing coming at him.

Enki was standing there, smiling. Liking the feeling of superiority to Izuku. He shoved his hand into the box and pulled out a gun with a wide barrel.

"Guns are not allowed in the fight-" Uraraka~Sensei began but was shushed by Enki.

"It's a dart gun, thanks for giving it away." He said in a scornful mutter. "It's your turn, Midoriya!" He said as he shot 3 darts at Izuku.

One at him, one to the left of him, and one to the right of him. His only choice was to go up. Izuku felt the power already rush up into both his legs and went about twenty feet in the air. Enki let out a laugh, as if someone had activated his trap card from some children's card game..

"You're smarter than that, Midoriya! You really think that you can dodge these in mid air!?" Enki said, spit flying from his lips as he held one hand to his head in utter disbelief, the other was aiming at Izuku.

"Damn..!" Was all Izuku could get out before he heard the mechanism fling something.

Time seemed to go in slow-motion for Izuku. He saw the dart, probably filled with some kind of sleeping-venom. Izuku couldn't have known what was in that dart. Fear filled him like a balloon. Panic powered his brain and nerves. But, through all of this, a small idea sparked inside of his head. He aimed his remaining arm to the left of him, willed his power into the finger, and flicked.

I've never handled that much power before.. He thought, the idea both exhilarating him and scaring him. As he flew through the air, he felt a twinge of pain in his index finger, but what mattered was that he was out of the trajectory of the dart. His idea had worked! Izuku did a back-flip (mostly for show) and landed upright, only to windmill his hands and teeter on his feet so he wouldn't fall. A slight blush of embarrassment spread across Izuku's face, but quickly disappeared. He regained his balance, and a glow of pride shone through Izuku's Erises.

He looked at Enki, who was obviously stunned. Izuku was taken aback as well. Enki's quirk was amazing, to say the least.

Katsuo Enki-Quirk: Loot

The user collects objects and stores them into an indestructible cube, and can take them out for later use. He always has what he needs!

Enki reached into the cube again, pulling out a long cylindrical object. It seemed to be a metal staff. Izuku shifted his weight to his front foot, and lunged forward. Enki began to run forward as well.

Izuku brought his elbow forward, aiming for his upper arm. Enki grinned and brought the staff in front of Izuku's elbow. This time, it was Enki who fell into Izuku's trap. Izuku used about a quarter of his strength (5%) into his right leg, and connected it with Enki's gut. The boy skidded back a bit, looking like he got the air knocked out of him. Izuku was amazed that he was still standing.

"H..How..?" Was all Izuku could muster forth.

Enki grinned, and pulled up his shirt. Strapped to his chest, there was a bullet proof vest! Of course..! Izuku thought.

"That.. All you got.. Deku?" Enki said after he finished a coughing fit.

Izuku's heart stopped. Heavy beats, spaced far apart began. His vision went red. His pulse beating faster than it should. Adrenaline coursing through his body as he hunched over a bit.

"What? A little Insult put you d..down..?" Enki finished, his confidence draining as he felt the same presence as before.

Izuku rushed forward, and swung his fist forward, barely missing Enki. There's a lot more power in this one than the last..! Enki thought quickly as he dodged.

Izuku dropped down and slid onto one leg, and shoved his fingers into the arena, leaving deep grooves, and finally slowing him down. He didn't stop to take a breath, and immediately jumped at Enki.

Izuku threw his fist forward, and Enki dodged again. But, Izuku used his own momentum to spin around, and kick Enki in the small of his back, sending him flying. Enki skidded away, his back on the ground. Izuku slowly walked up to Enki who had both his hands on the ground, and was struggling to push himself upright. Izuku stood before the boyon the ground, and put his foot in the middle of Enki's chest, shoving him back down.

"This was.. all you. You asked for it." Izuku breathed out, as he looked at Enki, his face void of expression. He clenched his remaining fist, his index finger a dull throb compared to his emotions. He put more power into it than he ever had, even more power than he had put into his finger before. Izuku heard whistles from the Uraraka~Sensei, but he seemed to be in another world.

He began to bring down his fist, right over Enki's face. Izuku felt a light pressure on his shoulder, and stopped mid-punch. He looked at his shoulder and saw a hand. His friends hand.

All aggression from Izuku immediately drained as he stood up and looked at Usagi.

Usagi had an expression on his face, one that Izuku didn't understand. It looked as if he was.. scared?

"Hey Usagi, whats up..?" Izuku asked slowly, as if he was scared of what might come out of his mouth.

"I should be the one asking that, Izuku." Was all Usagi said.

"What do you mean..?" Izuku asked. Usagi pointed at what, or rather, who Izuku was standing over.

Izuku looked down and immediately took his foot off of Enki. "I'm s..so sorry! I must have gotten C..carried away!" Izuku apologized.

"Didn't you hear the whistle! Man, you were just about to fucking kill me! Get away from me, you psychopath!" Enki yelled, as he got up and backed away from Izuku.

"What..?" Izuku was at a loss for words. All he remembered was Enki showing him his bullet proof vest, and calling Izuku.. Something. He couldn't recall.

Usagi understood what Izuku meant and answered his question. "Dude, you were like a wild animal out there. How could you be confused? It looked as if you were gonna go ape-shit on him.." Usagi shuddered, seemingly scared to speak.

"Wh..What do you mean? He just showed me his bullet-proof vest, then poof, i'm here standing over him!" Izuku assured, trying to explain the situation.

Usagi looked at him quizzically. "You.. Really don't remember..?" Usagi asked, still trying to find his footing on the situation.

Izuku was scared of what had occurred, and gave Usagi a nod with a fear ridden look on his face.

Usagi gave Izuku a slow, understanding nod. "Well congrats, Izuku. You won! You sure showed him!" Usagi cheered, setting the subject aside.

Usagi kept congratulating Izuku as they walked back to their friend group. The other students just gawked at them.

"Y..You did great Izuku!" Fretia exclaimed, almost like a  fangirl.

"Hey, good job man, I guess.." Teien muttered, not sounding like he meant it.

               "Good job!" Tisho proclaimed.

Izuku blushed and scratched his head. He was blessed to have this many friends. And good ones too. He smiled, beaming at them.

Uraraka

The week dragged on, hard work for everyone in class 1-B. They were all improving at an alarming rate, and it made Uraraka happy to see it. But it bothered Uraraka that Fretia, both of her friend's daughter, was trying to hit on Izuku. It was obvious, anyway you look at it, that she had a crush on Izuku. She doesn't even deserve Izuku. Izuku is mine and mine alone- Uraraka stopped thinking about it. Izuku isn't mine anymore. I'm his teacher, that's it. Speaking of Izuku, it's kinda scaryto see Izuku like.. whatever the hell he was. It was almost as if- She didn't even finish the thought as she rushed off to consult with her classmates.

The Sports Festival

"Aannndd.. Here's class 1-B of UA High!" The announcer announced after announcing class 1-A.

Izuku ignored the announcer as he announced the other classes. I finally have my technique down, and I still can't believe how fast the two weeks have passed by. It's fascinating how fast time passes when you're focusing so hard. Izuku looked at the crowd of students already there. It's gonna be hard, but I want to win this. Izuku thought.

Izuku heard Microphone feedback and snapped his attention towards the stage. It was the representative from class 1-A. Izuku had seen him around the halls, but never got the chance to talk to him. The boy had grey hair, and it looked as if he had not slept in year.

"Well um.." The boy started, scratching his chin pondering for words. "I'm Kirofimi, and I guess good luck to you all.. I hope to see you on the one-on-one battles." Kirofimi said, as he shoved his hands down his pockets and walked off the stage.

"Well, that was class 1-A's representative, Kirofimi! Now, it's time for the real action, the start of the sports festival!" The announcer said. The crowd, including the classes, cheered.

"First event of the day! An obstacle course! First 36 will make it to the next round! Everyone line up at the archway. We will begin shortly." The Announcer said, cutting off his microphone.

Izuku and his friends walked to the archway, and talked about what the obstacle course would contain.

"Maybe it'll be a moat you have to swim across!" Tisho suggested.

"Don't be stupid, that's too easy." Teien said with his arms crossed.

"Maybe it'll be a forest-type environment." Usagi added.

"Like you said, too easy. Maybe it's-" Izuku was cut off by the Announcer coming back.

"Now! For the Obstacle Race! Everyone Ready? Good!" The Announcer said.

              "Get on with it.."Someone muttered.

"On your marks!" The announcer continued.

"Get set!" The tension in the air thickened.

"Go!!" And Izuku loved the feeling of it.
