Chapter 53: Retrieval.
A/N: I'm so sorry for taking so long... I'm not going to lie to you guys-- I felt a major drop in inspiration and I've had this chapter in the process of being made for months now until today. I don't know where my drive went, but I'm trying to push myself to get back into it, because I've wanted to finish this fic for a while now. So, I plan to, and even if it takes forever-- I'll still keep at it until it's completed. Thank you for reading this note! :3

In front of a convenience store, stood the group of U.A. students in their hero costumes. All with stern expressions, they did their best to keep a lookout for any threats and even Kage hovered high above them. "Didn't Mr. Aizawa say that the Principal will come by?" Momo questioned, with a clenched hand against her chest.
"Yeah... But where's Mr. Aizawa? He should be back by now. Do you think something might've happened between him and that lady?" Fumikage was next to speak, he looked in the direction their teacher was in and hoped that he'd see a glimpse of his hair at least.
"Are you guys fucking stupid or something?! It's obvious something happened! He would've caught up by now!" Bakugou ran around the group with his grenade arms sparking. His once tame frown turned into a furious scowl before he bolted in his direction and caused the students to gasp. "If she gets attacked while I'm gone then it'll be on your heads!" He yelled to make sure they heard and used his quirk to blast himself into the air, so he could reach their teacher faster.
"Wait, Bakugou!" Kirishima hoped he'd catch him in time, but alas, he failed for the dirty blonde was already out of earshot and knew he couldn't chase after him. His arms were occupied by an incredibly dazed Uviel whose heart was still shattered from meeting her dead parents.
Suddenly, right after the dirty blonde left them, a black vehicle came around the corner and approached the students. "P- Principal Nezu!" In unison, all of the kids yelled when they saw a paw out of the window greeting them. Relief befell all faces of the class who huddled around Kirishima and Saito, save for Yukimura.
She was too worried about her best friend to so much as care about Nezu's approach, her attention stayed on the lighter redhead in Eijiro's arms. I can't hear her normal breaths, it's all subtle. She hasn't even moved on her own! She couldn't possibly be that emotionally broken right now! She can't be, she knew her parents were... In her thoughts, she paused upon finally realizing what it was that made her so dead in the eyes. She knows... That they were brought back somehow. They were used to distract her as mentioned earlier, but from what? Knowing this, she's become emotionally broken... Who... Was the asshole-- who hurt my friend? Dark, sinister, her aura was. Even though she so badly wanted to murder the person who did that to Uviel, her usual smirk never appeared and only a frustrated frown formed.
She didn't pay attention to the others who called out the Principal's name, that was until Nezu was close enough to speak through his passenger seat window.
"Hello! Mr. Aizawa informed me of your situation and I've come to pick everyone up! This limousine should suffice! Hurry inside, I must find your Teacher," Despite his beaming smile and happy vibe, he was indeed in a hurry. He watched as they glanced at each other before they made their way into the vehicle and let Kirishima inside first.
The interior was astonishing, full of dim lights with red seats and a small, glossy, black table in the center. As soon as everyone went in, the door shut and they all gasped at the luxurious sight. Normally, anyone would sit and gawk at the beauty of the interior but they knew they couldn't waste time chilling when their situation was dire.
~~~
Across rooftops ran Izuku with Uraraka in his arms, still unconscious. In the distance, as he made his way in the direction his classmates were in, he spotted Aizawa covered in wounds. His back was against a wall of a building, leaning over and holding the limb that kept him from moving very far. Mr. Aizawa's hurt?! Quickly, he hopped down and hurried to his Teacher whilst mindful of the brunette in his arms.
To his side appeared Edgeshot who was also on his way to meet up with the other students, although when he spotted the boy and Ochacho he couldn't help but follow. "Is she alright?" Questioned the pro ninja, purely worried for the two.
"Yeah, she's just unconscious. This super pale lady kicked her away and knocked her out, so I needed to get her to safety. Thirteen went to take care of her, but I don't know if she caught the lady yet," Midoriya's now stern gaze met gray ones after he answered and gave Aizawa a glance from his side.
"That lady managed to get away. Apparently, she's with the League of Villains. I was on my way to find Aizawa Shota when I saw the two of you. Come," With that, the ninja jogged his way to the wounded Teacher, he knew the boy behind him would follow so he didn't bother to look back and check if he was.
"Mm?" Shota's dark eyes looked up, to see a familiar pair from afar and noticed Izuku carrying Uraraka tightly in his arms. His brows knitted at the sight, but he did his best to stand with the help of the wall's support and the use of his arms. As soon as they caught up to him they all stopped, Midoriya seemed rather astonished at the wounds his Teacher had.
"M- Mr. Aizawa! Who did that?!" Dumbfounded, and confused, the boy exclaimed and stepped closer to get a better look at his wounds.
"That woman from earlier, she was pretty strong. I used my quirk but it barely helped... It seems her unnatural strength is not a quirk but a perk for being a zombie," His one leg, which was bloodied, wobbled the more he tried to stand and used his other leg to keep himself on his feet. However, what helped him the most was the wall he managed to reach before.
"A... Zombie? You mean to say-- what I joked about earlier, was true in the end?" The pro ninja was a bit taken aback by his words, for he believed the woman was just another powerhouse like Uviel and had cybernetics somehow. Even Izuku was at a loss for words, the gasp he let out was loud enough to be heard from several feet away.
"Mhm... That woman tried to use her quirk on me before we fought. I didn't notice a citizen stroll by, she got between us and took the effects of the other woman's quirk. As soon as it happened I had to use mine so I wouldn't be affected by it. She saw the lady and seconds later she began to go insane... The citizen was undergoing some sort of mental torture, witnessing death and endless bloodshed. From what I could see, it was enough to make her bash her head until she died," His hand lifted to pinch between his brows, the thought of that kind of torture, there was no way anyone would be able to escape something like that and it disturbed him greatly. "Not to mention, after she died and during our fight-- she tore the woman's flesh and ate it... It seems she has some sort of natural healing capability that's not even a quirk either. It doesn't make sense," finally, he finished and peeked at the three in front of him.
"She really is a zombie then, huh? I think we'll get our answers once we find her again and capture her. She seems too dangerous to simply ignore and leave to the lower-ranked heroes," Edgeshot, with his arms folded, felt rather uneasy when he answered Shota. However, the boy to his side gained their attention with a question concerning his friends.
"We need to find the rest of our classmates... Edgeshot, will he be okay?" His once devastated eyes turned serious after he glanced at Aizawa and waited for the ninja to answer.
"Yeah, I'll take him to the students. Where did they go?" Shinya was a bit concerned for the other kids because if Muni could do that to Aizawa, he feared for the other students' safety.
"They headed in the school's direction... I called the Principal so he should've made it to them by now. I asked for a lift too since it seems I can barely walk," The stinging sensation continued to throb, he had to admit that he'd felt worse but it hurt like hell, and knew he wasn't capable of moving by himself.
"Dekuuuuuuuuuu! So this is what kept Mr. Aizawa! You damn nerd!" Through a screaming, hysterical fit, behind the small group, stood Bakugou with his signature sharp and white eyes.
"Kacchan! I- It's nothing like that! He was attacked!" Izuku was startled by the furious boom of the blonde's voice, enough to take several steps back. His green hues watched as he approached, that usual scowl he wore was evident, and the closer he got the more noticeable Aizawa's wounds were to him.
"Get back to the students, both of you," That moment, when Shota spoke, the Limousine drove around the corner with haste and lit up Midoriya's eyes with relief. The boy was happy to see that vehicle, for he knew that they were going to get to safety and wouldn't have to deal with anything else for the time being.
When the vehicle stopped close to the explosive child, a pair of hands opened the side door and yanked him inside. "What the hell?! Let go of me you bunch of extras!" His limbs flailed as fury radiated from his hysterical form, the blonde surely didn't appreciate being dragged inside. They were all risking the vehicle's life since the boy threatened to set off his explosives and not much longer did Mezo come running for their Teacher.
With much care, the tall boy was mindful of his injuries when he helped him and placed an arm over his shoulder. "Mr. Aizawa, Principale Nezu's here," Gradually across the road he supported the Teacher and couldn't help but give Izuku a concerned glance.
A simple nod was all he gave the tall student before he charged into the vehicle and placed Uraraka gently across one of the seats. However, a loud sound echoed, a heavy thud a little bit away from the Limousine made pebbles fly. Everyone's heads turned towards it, especially when they felt the vehicle sway from the nearby force.
"What was that?!" In unison the students exclaimed, astonished by the sudden impact that caused a small dust cloud to waft close by. Even Aizawa was a little taken aback but was soon replaced with his usual unamused eyes, the moment he saw who or what it was.
Out of the cloud came Wani Kyoshi with his hands dusting off the excess dirt from his vest. The cloak he wore covered a lot of his features, but it wasn't enough to conceal who he was to the students and the very sight of him made the Teacher grumble. "What do you want?" Feeling annoyed would be an understatement. Those dark eyes were glued to the Crocodile's approaching frame as he was propping himself up against the interior of the vehicle. The doors never closed, they were left wide open so everyone could get situated.
"I want to be near Yukimura. Ya got a problem with that, you damn hero?" Questioned the irritated Crock as he came closer to the students. "I've been looking for her for a while, I heard the other kid didn't tag along with her since he's been with his class. The kid's got guts to ask a rival for help," With his large, strong hand slamming and clenching onto the top edge of the vehicle's door frame, he bore those slits into the Teacher's.
After all this time, the person who knocked her out of her protectiveness was Wani. Haru gasped upon his words and immediately felt her cheeks heat up, it was hard not to recall Shinso's and Kyoshi's private conversation at the store they visited. Carefully with her tan hands, the brunette placed it on Uviel's head to get her attention but it only made the lighter redhead subtly stir.
"Did he ask you to tag along?" Ashido leaned over to get a better view of the Crock and laid her black eyes upon his intimidating frame. His mass was enough to block most of the light that beamed into the Limousine, as his piercing yellow slits glared daggers at her in the far corner where she sat.
"Yeah... I'm gonna hop on top of this thing. Ah-- right. Yukimura, you can just call me Wani from now on. We're on good terms, ya?" His low, grumbling voice reached the blind girl's ears and he watched her sit there pondering his question.
"Y- Yeah-- sure! You can just call me Haru!" The brunette managed to snap her focus off of the cybergirl and look his way with her brightest smile, which he could never get out of his head. Although he couldn't see her blind hues behind her white mask, he could still see the vibrant smile he loved so much and that was enough.
Kyoshi wasn't ashamed to hide the darker colors on his cheeks, which indicated his blush. All he did was give her his famous toothy grin and leap on top of the vehicle. His weight caused it to lean just slightly and creek under the pressure but it supported him nonetheless. Over his shoulder, he looked, and there Kage floated with its giant eye heavily focused on his wide backside. To say he felt at ease would be a lie since silent awkwardness was what he received before he averted his attention. "Heh, the kid can't go without that robot," Uncomfortable, the Crock sat on the roof of the Limousine with his legs crossed and rested his strong jaw into the palm of his hand.
Mom... Dad. Who did that to you? Why would someone bring you back like that? Uviel's thoughts echoed as her sapphire hues bore into the space before her. The warmth around her frame which she barely paid any mind to, somehow became more noticeable after she blinked and lifted her head.
She could feel the vehicle move, the atmosphere around the students was tense, but what kept her attention was Kirishima's red eyes that stared into space. After a while, a sweet smile, grateful and happy, appeared on her lips. I'm so thankful to have friends like them and... Someone who... Isn't scared to be with me like Kirishima. Haru, I couldn't ask for a more awesome friend like her, too. Again, her thoughts resonated, it wasn't long until those appreciative eyes became more serious.
When I get home... Shinya and I are going to do some research on that woman. That assistant. It makes me wonder... If she's still alive. Around her, she took notice of Izuku who stayed close to an unconscious Uraraka, the sight of the girl made her fists clench. Carefully her hand lifted to grasp a costume piece on his shoulders, which seemed to have gained his attention and made him gasp.
"U- Uviel-- you're responding," Gentle he was, the darker redhead blushed when he saw her stare at him with her beautiful sapphire hues. "Are you feeling a little better?" Curious and concerned, he asked, but he never expected to receive a hug that pulled him close.
"Y- Yeah... Thank you all, for helping me... I couldn't snap myself out of it," For a moment, she peeked at her best friend who she hadn't realized was hugging her legs and comically crying.
"UV-RAY! Don't worry, I'll make sure I hunt down that asshole who made your parents go after you!" At this moment, she was chibified, hysterical tears flew and soaked everyone in the vehicle. Denki had to pull up a towel that Momo made with her quirk for everyone, just to protect themselves from her overly dramatic waterworks.
"AAAH! You're crying too much!" The little Grape boy nearby squealed and took cover behind Denki.
~~~Later~~~
A pair of pink lips just finished kissing Aizawa to heal his wounds and now, the Teacher stood with only his slightly bloodied clothes. "Thank you," Grateful, he was, for the Nurse's ability because he would've had a horrible limp in his leg for a while if she hadn't used her quirk.
"You're quite welcome. Ah-- yes, I'll inform you when Ochaco wakes up. For the time being why don't you rest a while, hm?" Recovery Girl couldn't help but suggest after making her way toward her desk.
"I can't. I'd give anything for a few minutes of sleep but I have some stuff to do," Shota saw the glint of the sunset through the window nearby, just the sight of it made him want to go to bed sooner. However, there was something that made him curious, the old woman's next words had grabbed his attention.
"By the way. I want to speak with that Crocodile man, please. Would it be alright if you brought him in here? He's a good lad... I know he won't hurt me," Her kind smile made the Teacher question her sanity for a moment, nonetheless, she received a nod and watched him make his way toward the door.
"What makes you think he won't? He may have helped Endeavor fight Serpentine, but that doesn't make up for his crimes and temperament," With his hand on the knob, those dark hues viewed Recovery Girl from his peripherals and noticed how her kind smile never faltered.
"I will be fine, dear. I know him," Gently spoken, she reassured the man. His sigh reached her ears before he left her alone in the room, which gave her plenty of time to ponder how she could talk to Kyoshi. It was irresistible to think about the past, how she met him during his school years and did her best to be there for him like a mother to a child. If anything, it pained her to know how far he's gone with his anger toward heroes. "That poor boy's so reckless," quietly mumbled, to the side, she stared at the sunset's glow and its subtle vibe that ends the day.
