In the days that followed, you didn't hear much from your friend, Shinsou. His responses were dry and not very interested, and you were worried that something had happened. Even when you told him you were going to I-Expo, he simply shrugged and said "Okay."

He wouldn't tell you if anything was wrong or whether or not you had done something, and eventually you stopped trying to ask. If he wanted to tell you, he would.

Soon, the day of your flight comes. Todoroki's driver had picked you up at your apartment and drove the two of you to the airport. It was your first time flying business, and Todoroki had chuckled at your enthusiasm.

When the two of you arrive and get through immigrations, you stop by your hotel first.

"Oh, is it just one room...?" You ask Todoroki as you stand outside the door.

"No. We have a suite."

"...Huh?"

Todoroki opens the door into a large living space. To the sides are two separate bedrooms. This place is bigger than my apartment...!

"Which room would you like, Y/n?"

"Uh... Is there a difference?"

He shakes his head. "Both have an ensuite bathroom."

"I guess... I'll take this one then?" You point to one of the rooms, and Todoroki nods.

"I'll take the other. Let's get changed into our hero costumes."

Both of you head into your rooms and close the doors. It must be at least twice the size of my apartment...!

You quickly put on your hero costume and fix your hair. Not wanting to walk around in your helmet, you carry it out into the living space with you.

"Here's your dress." Todoroki is already dressed and waiting when you come out.

"Thank you again, Shoto." You smile and take the dress from him. "I guess I should hang it up in the closet..."

He nods and hands you your heels as well. "You don't want it to be wrinkled for tonight."

"Right, does your suit need to be steamed? I can handle that."

"I might take you up on that."

Not long after, the two of you leave the hotel and begin exploring the expo. Hunger led you to enjoy lunch at a nice restaurant, Todoroki's treat, and once you're done you look for your next stop.

"I don't remember the last time I ate such good food!" You say, still drooling over your meal.

"I'm glad you liked it so much, Y/n."

"Thank you again, Shoto!" You smile. Todoroki can't help but stare at you as you beam at him.

The corners of his lips turn upwards into a gentle smile. "Of course. Which way do you want to go next?"

"Hmm... Let's see..."

As you look around the area in front of you, a voice calls your name.

"Y/n!"

The two of you turn around and see Engitech and Kai walking towards you.

"Hey!! What are you guys doing here?" You ask.

"Engitech got invited and let me tag along. I'm glad to see you're well, Y/n."

"Costume looks good! Hope you don't mind the changes too much. I had to make do with the materials I had in." Engitech says.

"No way! I love the colours and the shorts! It's a lot better than what I came up with! Plus, it's so much more comfortable!"

Engitech laughs. "Glad to hear it, kid. Good to see they got you back in one piece. Nearly made me lose all my hair from stress."

"I owe it to Recovery Girl, she was healing me everyday!"

"Good. I see you're here with a friend." Engitech turns towards Todoroki. "You're Endeavor's son."

Todoroki nods in response.

"Ah, this is Todoroki Shoto." You tell them. "Shoto, these two work at Firetamer's agency, Engitech and Kai, who I think you already met before."

"So you're who invited Y/n before us!"

"What do you mean?" You ask.

"Firetamer wanted to get you a ticket to the expo as thanks, but when she contacted your teacher, he said you were already going." Kai explains.

"Oh! Thank you! Endeavor was kind enough to get another ticket for me, so I could come along with Shoto." You tell them.

"Hah! Endeavor and kind! Those aren't two words you hear together often!" Engitech laughs.

Todoroki seems to loosen up after hearing that. "I remember you from Hosu." He says to Kai.

"Yes, I do too. You did good protecting Y/n for us, thank you. You saved her life. I wish I had found you before the fight was over. You fought very well."

"...Thank you. Are you both here as pros?" Todoroki seems to relax even further, and you can't help but think of how different his father's reaction to his fighting in Hosu was.

"Oh, I wouldn't call us pros, we're really just sidekicks for support." Engitech says. "It's rare that I fight these days, and Kai handles mostly business aspects."

"I only fight if I need to, but I mainly rely on Engitech's weapons if I do. But don't get the wrong idea, it's not that I can't fight. I have no need to. I still do the same physical training as the rest of the squadron." An alarm goes off of Kai's watch. "Looks like it's time to go. Your seminar starts soon."

"You're teaching a seminar?" You ask Engitech.

"Yup, I get to talk about all of my latest inventions. They had me bring a few to show off for the Expo. Actually, before we go, I made you something else."

"Something else? You didn't have to!"

"I'm always making something anyways. Don't worry about it." Engitech reaches into his pocket and pulls out a set of wrist bands. "I actually made them based on your fight in Hosu."

"Thank you, sir! What are they?"

"Put them on your wrists. Red on your dominant side, and blue on the other. There's going to be a small prick when you do."

You take them from him and slip them on your wrists after handing Todoroki your gloves. It feels like a tiny pin prick on the inside of your wrist, but it goes away almost immediately.

"Now they're officially yours." Engitech shows you how to activate them, and you do as instructed.

The red band instantly transforms into an energy bat, and the blue into a force field that follows your hand. They look like they're made similarly to the button suit you wore during your internship.

"Woah! These are awesome!! Thank you so much, sir!!" You say as you admire them.

"Interesting..." Todoroki says.

"This is so cool! I feel like a cartoon character with a hammer!"

"Now, try to take it from her." Engitech says to Todoroki.

He looks between the two of you and reaches for the bat. He's unable to grab ahold of it as his hand simply slips through it.

"What...?"

"How does that work?" You ask.

"Only the wearer can use the bands. Anyone else won't be able to. Now, hold up the shield."

You do as instructed, and Engitech punches the shield. It reverberates, but otherwise stays the same.

"Now, Y/n. You try blasting ice or water through your side of the shield."

You peer through the transparent blue of the shield and blast water at it. Sure enough, your quirk goes straight through.

"How did you make these?!" You ask.

"Pretty cool, right? The prick at the beginning marks you as the user. They're DNA activated, so only you can use them. Now, they are still prototypes so don't go trying to push past their limits. I haven't worked all the kinks out yet. I can send you the finished products once they're done."

You fawn over your new support items, and Todoroki watches. Kai reminds Engitech of the seminar, and they wave goodbye, saying they'll see you at the party tonight.

Kai remembers something before they get too far. "You two might want to head down that street, they have a competition to see who can beat robots the fastest."

"Thanks, Kai!"

You and Todoroki turn in the direction he pointed and head down the pathway.

hey everyone so as of chapter 85 I will be changing the rating of this story to mature.
