"Thanks again for giving me your towel, Y/n."

"What and leave you to freeze?" You laugh. The two of you walk back to the rest of the group, and Midoriya grabs a drink from Momo's cooler. With the last heat finished, the boys agree on a ten minute break before the final race, and everyone disperses.

Midoriya cracks open his can and slips a straw in. "Oh, is that a new flavour?" You ask. As he drinks he nods. "Can I try a sip?"

Midoriya, having never shared a drink with a girl before, gets embarrassed as he often does when interacting with girls. Especially cute girls. Cute girls in swimsuits that happen to be wearing his super special edition All Might towel. He manages to spit out a sure, and you step closer to him. Leaning over, you take a sip from his straw.

"Yum! That's good! I think I'm going to grab one!" With Midoriya still standing shellshocked over sharing his drink with you, you dig through Momo's cooler for another. Sadly, Mineta had taken the last one as he saw you trying Midoriya's.

"You can share with me-" Mineta begins to say with a smirk, but the disgust on your face makes him actually stop talking for once.

"Oh, are there none left?" Midoriya snaps out of it and asks you. "Do you want the rest of mine?"

"No no, it's okay, Midoriya! I'll have to try it again sometime in the future."

"I don't mind sharing the rest of it with you... Only if you want..."

"Really? Thank you!!"

The rest of the break goes by quickly as you and Midoriya sit next to each other. If anyone who didn't know better happened to see you, they'd think the two of you are dating. Between the towels and the shared drink, some of the boys are starting to get annoyed, or downright furious in Bakugou's case. Not to mention how close to each other you are sitting.

Soon, the time comes for the final race.

"It's time for the final race. Bakugou, Todoroki, Midoriya, as winners of each heat you'll compete for first place. Understand?" Iida says.

"I guess that's my cue." Midoriya stands up and puts your towel down on his seat.

"Kick their butts, Midoriya! Win for me!" You say. You mean it as in win by actually swimming, not cheating like the other boys, but he only hears "win for me" as it would be said in a romantic setting. Either way, it motivates him.

After thanking you, Midoriya walks off like he's been possessed by a robot, and you laugh.

"Listen up, Scar Face! Don't you dare hold back like you did at the Sports Festival! Bring everything you've got!"

"I will." Todoroki stares down Bakugou, and Midoriya awkwardly stands between them.

"You too, Deku! Fight to win! I don't care if Y/n is cheering for you, I'm still going to blow past you and crush you!"

Falling into the oh so serious life-or-death mood of a summer break swim race between classmates, Midoriya agrees and assures Bakugou he'll give it his all. The three boys all stare at each other, the intensity of a thousand burning suns in their eyes. Boys, am I right?

"What's up with them?" Mina sighs. "And they say girls are dramatic."

You stifle a laugh with the rest of the girls as the boys step into position.

"And the fifty meter freestyle swimming race will begin in just a moment!" Iida says.

Everyone cheers, and you join them. "You've got this, Midoriya!"

"Blow 'em away, Bakugou!" Kirishima yells.

"Don't kill the other swimmers!" Kaminari laughs.

"You've got this, Todoroki!" For someone who's been frozen by Todoroki twice in a competition now, Sero sure wants him to win.

Uraraka joins you cheering for Midoriya, and Momo wishes everyone good luck like the unbiased angel she is.

"On your marks..."

Bakugou begins setting off small explosions from his palms, Todoroki's arm freezes over, and Midoriya begins to glow with power.

"Get set..."

You and Uraraka cheer for Midoriya and wrap an arm around each other as you do.

"Go!!!"

All three boys leap off of their blocks, and everything looks good for about half a second. Then, the three fall gracelessly in without any of their quirks activated.

"What happened?" Kaminari asks.

"Why aren't they using their quirks?" Sero asks.

"It's 5pm." You all turn towards the doors as you hear the familiar voice of your instructor. With his quirk activated, he looks frightening. "Your authorized pool time is officially over. Hurry up and go home."

"Aw come on, give us a few more minutes!" Kaminari pleads.

Sero joins him. "We were finally getting to the good part!"

"Are you talking back?" Even though you warmed up a while ago, a shiver goes down your spine.

"No sir!" Your class replies in unison.

Unfortunately, you don't end up getting to see who the winner of the race is, although Midoriya was already the winner in your eyes. After exchanging towels with Midoriya again and a mad rush to gather your things, everyone heads to the locker rooms to shower and change.

On your way home, Todoroki calls out to you.

"Oh, Todoroki! I didn't know you went this way."

"I don't. I have a question to ask you."

"What's up?"

"My father was invited to I-Expo soon. He can't go, so I'm going to represent him."

"That sounds like it'll be a lot of fun! What did you want to ask though?"

"Do you want to come with me?"

"Wait, really?"

Todoroki nods to you. "He actually arranged a second ticket specifically for you..."

"What?! Really?? Why is that?"

"I don't know. He keeps trying to ask me about you. I think he's just interested in scouting you because of your quirk." He looks slightly irritated as he talks.

As he says the last part, you remember overhearing his conversation with Midoriya during the Sports Festival. Didn't he mention his parents had an arranged quirk marriage...? He doesn't...! Me and Todoroki...?! Your face flushes as you think about marrying Todoroki.

"I'm too young for that!"

"Huh? Yes, we are only in our first year. I imagine he's thinking about our future internships once we get our provisional licenses and when we graduate."

Realizing you said that out loud, you cover your face in further embarrassment. Todoroki looks at you quizzically. 

"Are you busy?"

"N-no, it's not that..."

"Don't worry, you won't have to speak to my father."

"Well... If it's really okay...!"

Todoroki nods and reaches into his bag. "This is your ticket then. I'll text you the packing list."

"Are you really sure? Isn't this a crazy big event? I thought it was even closed to the public for the first day..."

"Exactly. We'll be arriving before the event is open to the public. Only ticket holders will be there."

"I've never been to such a prestigious event before..." 

"You haven't?"

You shake your head.

"Do you have any formal clothes?"

"How formal are we talking?"

"I'm wearing a full suit."

"Oh jeez... I'll have to call my aunt to see if she has anything I can borrow..."

"No need. My father already said he'd buy you an outfit if you didn't have anything."

"What?! I can't let him do that—"

Todoroki shakes his head. "He's got more than enough money. Besides, he's a terrible person. Don't feel bad about using his money."

"But—"

"Are you free tomorrow? I can take you to the boutique my mother used to go to."

"Wait, Todoroki, seriously??"

He nods again. "If that doesn't work, I can take you another day."

"N-no, tomorrow's fine... Are you really sure this is okay?"

"He already got you the ticket and left his card for me to take."

"I guess if you're certain... I'll have to thank him..."

An annoyed look crosses Todoroki's face. "He doesn't deserve your thanks."

"It would be rude not to, though."

"He's rude."

"I don't want to be though..."

"Fine. After we go shopping tomorrow, you can come thank him if you really want to." He grumbles.

You nod nervously. "Should I wear something nice tomorrow...? Is he very conservative?"

Todoroki stares at you blankly. "Y/n, you look good in anything. Wear whatever you want."

Your face had only just returned to its normal shade, and now Todoroki's comment has it returning to pink. "T-thank you... Where should I meet you?"

"I'll come to your apartment to pick you up."

"Really? Isn't it out of your way?"

"It would be impolite not to."

The two of you confirm your plans, and you head home staring at the ticket in your hands, your head whirling over what had just occurred.
