“I just barely managed to keep my privates covered for the sake of you ladies!” Mirio laughs. Everyone has gotten up and is standing near the wall where Aizawa is, and almost all of them are bent over clutching their stomachs.

“It feels like all you did was punch us in the guts!!!”

“Think my quirk is strong, huh?” Mirio chuckles.

“Way too strong!!” Sero shouts.

“Totally unfair!!” Toru agrees.

“You can phase and warp? What’re you?! Some kind of hybrid like Todoroki?!” Mina exclaims.

“Hey...!!” Todoroki looks mildly offended.

“Oh, oh!! Can I say your quirk? Can I? Can I?” Hado jumps and raises her hand in the air.

“Hado, this is Mirio’s time to shine... Besides, Y/n still hasn’t faced him, yet.” Amajiki tells her.

“Yeah! I already got to watch him fight! Don’t give me any other advantages.” You laugh and stretch your arms. “I’m ready to go!!”

“Awesome!!” Mirio grins.

“How is Y/n feeling so confident after watching us all get tossed around...?” Ojiro asks.

“That’s just how she is...!” Kaminari tells him.

“Yeah, Y/n is totally on another level...!!” Kirishima groans. “Kick his ass!!”

“Language.” Aizawa sighs.

“Sorry, sir!”

“I want you all to pay close attention. I made Y/n wait because I want you to see what a difference even a few days of working alongside pros can do. Especially one as talented as Hawks. You’ve all been watching her fights on the news, so take advantage of seeing the skills she’s been working on in person.” Aizawa tells the class. “Togata, I trust you won’t go easy on her.”

Mirio nods and gives Aizawa a thumbs up. “You got it, Eraserhead!”

With one last stretch, you and Mirio walk into the empty training space, away from everyone else. “Thanks for giving me this chance to test my new skills out on you, senpai!” You grin. “Your warping doesn’t scare me though. You’re just falling, aren’t you?”

“Huh???”

“How’d she guess that?”

“Ha!! I knew you would be interesting!” Mirio gives you a wide grin. “The whole school is talking about the first year that got practically nabbed by Hawks, after all! Heard he was waiting for the moment you got your license, huh?”

“It’s no big deal.” You smile back at him. “I’m glad I got to work with him before fighting you! He makes you look slow!!”

“We’ll see about that, Hydra!”

“If you two are ready, let’s get a move on.” Aizawa tells you.

“Yessir!!” You grin. “Even with a handicap, I’m not going to go down easily!” As Aizawa counts you down, you get ready. The second he says start, you fly into the air, straight for the windows. Using your hands and Serpent’s Bites, you yank three open, and the rain begins to blow inside. “This is the perfect weather for me to fight in!!!” You grin as Mirio stares at you from the ground, looking unbothered. “You gonna be able to get me from up here, senpai?!”

“Woah! She’s really flying!” Mina exclaims.

“It looks like she’s surfing or snowboarding...!” Kaminari smiles.

Mirio laughs. “As long as you’re up there, you’re going to struggle to get me, too!”

“That’s where you’re wrong!!” With a yank, you pull an immense amount of water inside from the rain and hold it up in the air. “I can get you just fine from up here!” You ready the water, and slam it all down to the ground at him. “Torrential... Downpour!!!!”

“Ah!! My shoes!!! Watch out for us, Y/n!!” Sero shouts as the wave of water goes over everyone's feet.

“I’ll dry them after!!” You laugh as Mirio easily dodges your attack.

“Did she forget about his phasing...?” Sato asks.

Midoriya shakes his head. “No... Look!” Water floods the floor, and there’s at least a centimeter over the entire ground. Mirio’s shoes are wet, just like you wanted. Acting quickly, you freeze his feet in place.

“No biggie!” Mirio smiles and sinks into the ground as he shrugs. His shoes remain frozen in the water, and his pants collapse on top of them. The water you placed down doesn’t block you from sensing where he falls, and you’re able to whip around to face him as he comes popping out of the higher ground behind you.

“Can’t reach me like that!” You ready more water, and coat the higher platforms as well. Mirio sinks back in, and you can tell he’s going to try reaching you. Instantly, he pops out of the side of it, and he comes flying towards you. With his fist aimed at you, he’s moving much faster than before. Unable to fly away fast enough, you place your Serpent’s Bites in front of you to catch it. At the same time, you freeze over your torso under your uniform so he can’t see it.

Mirio’s fist phases through your Bites with ease, and his fist slams into your gut. Thankfully, your ice protects you from most of the blow, and at the moment of contact, you’re able to form spikes on it. He drops down to the ground, and disappears through it. Your uniform tears at your stomach, revealing the ice. You grin when you see a small amount of red on it.

“Gotcha!! Bet that didn’t feel nice to punch!” You smile when Mirio pops up again. You had dropped a little thanks to focusing on defending and right yourself in the air. “Hawks taught me all about the weak points you seem to love hitting!”

“No way! Did she counter him already?!” Kirishima shouts. “Hell yeah!!”

Mirio comes flying towards you again, grinning. “Nice!! You surprised me with that one!” He doesn’t speak immediately, taking a split second to take a breath of air. This time, you blast water to fly out of his way, and avoid his attack. His fist is a bit scraped up, but not hurt much beyond a few cuts. “You can’t keep dodging up here if you want to beat me, though!” As he passes by you, he extends his arm, and he catches your ice board. Before you can melt his grip, he uses it to swing around, the momentum not only tipping you upside down, but also allowing him to kick the back of your knee.

With a yelp, you fall, and have to use the water on the ground to catch you. Similar to the attack at USJ, you pull it up into a cylinder, and slam inside. As the water surrounds you, you get an idea. If he’s underground... He’s not breathing!! Still in the water, you quickly pull yourself to the top, ready for his next attack. Mirio comes towards you, unbothered by the water underneath you. As soon as he’s already left the ground, you pull all of the water up and over you. If Mirio wants to hit you, he’ll have to be in the water for at least some of it.

In order to throw him off when he solidifies, you whirl the water around you into a strong whirlpool. Mirio flies into the water, and you can tell he hasn’t solidified yet due to the lack of resistance. You continue swirling it as hard as you can, and finally Mirio’s fist solidifies. The current is enough to push him slightly, and he hits your side instead of your solar plexus. It hurts, but you’re able to grab him with the water. He couldn’t see, but you had created Serpent’s Bites, and they clamp down hard on his hand.

Mirio quickly activates his quirk fully again and begins dropping through the water. Not wanting him to escape, you push yourself down through the water after him. He drops below the ground, and you pay attention to his movements. You're able to see where he's about to pop up, and pull the water over just in time to cover his escape point. As soon as he comes up, you try to freeze him in place, but he phases again. He grins with his mouth closed as he sees the water around him.

“Nice one, Y/n!!” Kirishima cheers. Out of the corner of your eye, you can see Amajiki has actually turned away from the wall to watch you intently.

Standing on the ground, you notice Mirio is flying upwards, then suddenly stopping. “Huh...? What's he doing...?” He flies upwards again, and you narrowly dodge as he emerges from the ground. You're not quick enough to bring the water to his position, and you have to drop it as he lunges for you.

“I think this fight has gone on long enough!” He grins. You try to hit him with an attack, but he drops below the ground. As soon as he disappears, he immediately shoots back up. It catches you by surprise that he didn't even try to redirect himself, and his fist connects with your gut.

The blow knocks you back, and you stumble to keep your footing. Mirio doesn't give you time to recover, and he kicks your feet from under you while shouting “Power!!!!!!” With a splash, you fall to the water covered ground, groaning and clutching your abdomen as you roll on to your side. In one last attempt to get him, you heat up the water underneath him. He jumps, and activates his quirk once more. “Ha! Not done yet I see!!”

Trying to force yourself up makes you want to hurl, but you do it anyway. As Mirio falls under the surface, you freeze a hard shell around and below you, just like the one you did in the battle against Muscular. Mirio slams into it, and it cracks apart due to the power of his blow. The force is enough to cause you to roll back. In a fit of desperation, you raise your hand, ready to blast water straight at him while he's still solid.

But nothing comes out of your palm.
