~ Why does my... everything hurt? ~
A floating island remained above a glistening ocean with three smaller islands floating around it. On the biggest island, Izuku laid down in a small clearing next to a glistening pond in the middle of a forest. Slowly the teenager got up and looked around the clearing, though he actually looked like he was looking for something.
"Why am I in my mindscape?" He asked no one in particular as he stood up and saw that he was wearing his hero suit for some reason. Then all the memories hit him at once, which would have given him a headache... if he wasn't already in his head. "Damn that monster's hits were like... one hundred trucks at once?" He was honestly unsure about it himself.
Without giving too much thought into it, he started to walk around the island until he reached the edge. From there, he could see the three islands that were pretty close to each other. But what intrigued him was the nine bright stars in the sky that shone with different colors alongside a blood red moon shining down on the islands.
While he looked at the moon as if he was in a trance, one of the three islands had a Greek temple and emerging from it was Athena in her goddess clothing. Spotting Izuku, she immediately jumped from the small island to the main island and tackled him into a hug, surprising the teen as he fell to the ground from the impact.
Athena kept on hugging him through it all, even nuzzling her face into the crook of his neck. "Athena, it's good to see you too." He said as he hugged the green-haired goddess, but their embrace was cut short.
The interruption came from a curious, destructive goddess who was napping on a nearly dead island that had purple grass and a dead tree along with a small shrine with some odd offerings on it. But she awoke from her nap and flew over towards the noise of something falling. What she saw was prime entertainment, too bad they noticed her before she could get her popcorn.
"And it was just gonna get good~." She whined as Athena and Izuku got up and looked away from each other. "I wonder what kind of outrage would happen when a mortal bangs a deity. Maybe Zeus would come and try to take back his daughter." She teased as Izuku summoned the Aegis shield and threw it at her forehead, knocking her all the way back to her small island.
The little commotion got the attention of the final goddess who was at the highest of the three small islands. The island held a large temple in a Japanese style with the very top holding a mirror shaped like a sun. And Amaterasu was looking through that mirror at the moment, well, before she turned around and saw a little fight between Izuku and Eris. Taking interest in the little bout, she flew over while holding onto her katana just in case.
When she got there, the little battle ended which left the four of them on the edge of the biggest island. "So, why am I here?" Izuku asked as he looked down at the glistening ocean below.
"You're recovering." Answered Amaterasu as she flew in front of Izuku with the constant danger of falling into the ocean below. "That last battle used up nearly all the Divine Energy we had stored so now your physical body is resting in the hospital. At least, I hope you're in a hospital, we can't really tell anymore."
The answer was more than enough but Izuku was so dumbfounded that he almost tipped forward and fell off the ledge if not for Athena. "Okay... That power... what was it at the end?" He asked as he looked at the blood red moon which wasn't there at any point, even with a crazy immortal in his head.
"That can only be described as a False-Deity Form." Stated Athena as she made an orb appear in front of her, which replayed the battle between Izuku and the Nomu at USJ. "You essentially absorbed our Divine Energy to kill that creature. But I doubt you'd be able to reach that form again since you were barely able to after literally being seconds away from death and pissed off more than the three goddesses of vengeance after they were all rejected by Apollo."
The joke made both Eris and Athena laugh while Amaterasu joined Izuku in the 'I don't get it' club. Despite that, Izuku continued to look around his mindscape, discerning all the changes since he was last there. Luckily Amaterasu took notice of it while Eris and Athena started to talk/argue with each other.
"Ah, the blood moon is quite an odd addition. Eris used it to store the energy from your combos, which makes it get shine brighter." She said before she pointed at the nine brightest stars in the eternal night sky. "Those stars represent One For All and all its wielders. Starting with that bright, white one to your electric green star. Though yours seems to be getting brighter, the gold one for All-Might is slowly fading away."
Taking more interest into the new world he was in, Izuku looked over the temples and the shrine that the smaller islands held. Looking closer, he could see the Aegis shield, his divine quiver, and his wooden longbow all placed inside of Athena's temple. While there was also two orbs on that island, one that showed his resting body and another that looked like it held a world of pure weapons that he had yet to use.
On Eris's island, there was the minotaur ax just stuck into the ground and the Cerberus gun hanging by its trigger on a basically dead tree branch. Not thinking too much about it, the shrine that Eris had held a skull with a small bowl filled with blood, which creeped out the teenager more than the goddess already had.
Finally, Amaterasu's island housed a temple that she could easily use to sleep in and the mirror at the very top peered into the physical world during the day. While there didn't seem to be anything else that stood out since Izuku barely tapped into Amaterasu's power and even then, he had yet to use his Solar Manipulation to the fullest. According to the Sun Goddess anyway.
Before he could divulge into the world of his mind any more, he could feel a pull from something in the physical world. Standing up, he looked at the arguing goddesses and the brown-haired beauty whose hand was on his shoulder. "Well, looks like it's time for me to wake up," he said before the other two goddesses looked at him with some worry. Yet that didn't stop him as he leaned forward and dived off the edge of the island, dispersing into dust as he was brought to the land of the living.
Opening his eyes once more, Izuku saw a very fuzzy white ceiling and felt pain coursing throughout his body like his blood was replaced with sulfuric acid that was just burning his body from the inside-out. Regretting literally everything, he got up and looked around the hospital room he was now in.
There were complicated machines that were attached to him and presumably stabilizing him, a few chairs around the room, a bathroom, and a window. Looking out the window, he could see that the sun was barely rising over the horizon and yet some people were still awake and running around the streets, whether they were heroes or villains was still a bit unclear though.
'Damn... If that thing is still alive, I'm making it go through hell for leaving me like this,' Izuku thought as he pushed himself to sit on the edge of his hospital bed.
Without much else to do, Izuku looked over at what he was wearing and found himself in a hospital gown that actually went down to this knees and covered up everything along the way. But his arms were both completely wrapped in bandages while he legs seem somewhat fine if not for some bandages around Izuku's mid-thigh.
"Izuku, can you hear me?"
"I can hear you just fine, Athena." He responded as his vision was still blurry and he couldn't discern what the machines displayed.
"Good. Well then, we'll try to heal you as much as possible but you'll feel some pain for the rest of the day. Just try to stay out of a fight."
"Alright. Thank you." He said before slowing standing up, but he almost fell back onto the bed if not for his inhuman reflexes. Trying again, he kept one hand on the bed for support since he couldn't feel his legs too well, or any part of his body for that matter.
After shuffling around his hospital bed, Izuku found a clipboard attached to the bed with all his information. According to it, he'd been unconscious for a week and most of his arms were shattered but at night, a golden light would appear around his body that healed him. Of course, the doctors wanted to look into it more, but they simply wrote down as a side-effect of his quirk. Thankfully, at the very end of the page, it said that UA covered his hospital bills already.
"That makes me feel a little bit better." He said absentmindedly as the door creaked open to reveal a brunette woman with an average body at least, but her palms had a red cross on them which seemed to catch most of Izuku's attention.
"Umm... Midoriya-san, you should be in bed," she squeaked out as she slowly opened the door and Izuku realized she was a nurse. "But you weren't expected to wake up for at least another week. Did something happen?"
She was obviously somewhat scared, along with a shy demeanor but she walked towards Izuku and noticed she was just taller than him by a centimeter or two. But Izuku simply smiled at her in response before giving her an actual answer.
"I guess you could say I had a wake-up call, but I should be fine by tomorrow if I don't use my quirk. But don't worry about me, I was never one to sit back and rest when I could be doing something else." He said with his smile ever-present.
"Well, I guess I'll give you your final check-up before you are discharged then." She said as Izuku nodded and sat down on his hospital bed, remaining still as the nurse checked the machines.
After a few minutes, she presumably finished the check-up once she replaced the bandages on Izuku with a blush across her cheeks the entire time. Either way, she left the room with the clipboard Izuku was reading moments earlier and returned with Inko who immediately hugged Izuku even if it hurt him.
With that small family reunion out of the way, Izuku was discharged from the hospital and given a bottle of pills in case the pain didn't go away after another week. Leaving the hospital, the two green-haired individuals returned to their small apartment where Athena made herself present. All in all, the day was spent with Izuku catching up on his school work before he started to cook, despite all of Inko's requests to let her do it.
But of course, there was something to ruin the peace after the make-shift family ate lunch. The doorbell rang and Inko went to open it, only to see a very skinny man who looked like a skinsuit on a skeleton.
"Midoriya-san, may I speak with you on behalf of UA?" He asked before she hesitantly nodded, letting him into the small apartment where the smell of food was still in the air. Once he got in, he went towards the couch as Athena dragged Izuku out of his room to see their visitor. "I see you two are still getting along well." He joked as Athena literally threw Izuku into the wall, making a slight crack that Athena fixed with her powers.
"Sensei, what are you doing here?" Izuku asked as he stood up and stood in front of the television, across from the skeleton man known as All-Might.
"I came to talk to both you and Midoriya-san over there." He said before Inko walked over and sat on a chair. "Well... as you know, the USJ incident caused quite the disturbance in the media and endangered the trust between the civilians and UA. So, to ensure the student's safety, we'll be moving them into the Heights Alliance which is our dormitories that were built over this last week. Can Young Izuku be put into our care, Midoriya-san?" He asked as he got on the floor and bowed down to her.
"No." She simply replied as it took everyone else in the room and Izuku's head a moment to process what just happened.
"Wait, why?" All-Might asked, getting up from the floor.
"Because he got too injured just fighting on his own. I don't want to see what would happen if I can't see him after all that." She said with a lone tear streaming down her face. "If he's with UA... then I won't be able to see him and I don't know when will be the last time I can see him, so I want to spend as much time as I can before one of us is gone."
At this point, she was crying and Izuku had to hold back the tears while All-Might looked at her in understanding before he placed his hand on her shoulder. "He'll be safe. We weren't cautious enough at USJ and he saved everyone's lives. Although I can't guarantee that he'll be uninjured, we at UA promise to keep him safe until he becomes a hero."
Looking up, Inko could see the completely serious face of the skeleton man who tried to comfort her. But then, Izuku got onto his knees and hugged her, making a moment of pure emotion and silence in the apartment.
"Kaa-san, I'll be okay. I always dreamed of being a hero and this is the next step, but I'll make sure to call every night and visit on the weekends." He said, still holding Inko in a loving embrace. Yet she stopped hugging her son and looked him in the eyes, some tears still falling down her face.
"Izuku, I don't know what I'd do without you! After your father ran away, I thought I lost everything!" She exclaimed as Izuku shed one of his own tears. "Promise you'll be safe! If you don't call, I'm going to UA and bringing you back home!"
"I promise, Kaa-san." He said before the two remember that All-might was watching the entire thing.
Getting back up, the two family members nodded at him. "Good, get your things packed and head over to school tomorrow to get your dorm assigned. I have to go speak with some other families, goodbye Midoriya's!"
And with that, he left. Then Athena found herself hugging Izuku in jealousy as the other two green-haired people laughed at her gesture. But soon enough, Izuku found himself packing everything he needed that wasn't going to make him stick out like a sore thumb since Athena made him get rid of most of his fanboy stuff.
~ Time Skip ~
~ Brought to you by Jealous Goddesses ~
The next day, Izuku hugged Inko goodbye as he left their apartment and took the train to UA. Along the way, he saw Kira, Mira, and Tempi already talking to each other with their own luggage, so he decided to join them in their conversation despite the guys who looked at him with jealousy and the angry voice in his head.
Once they finally made it to their stop, they saw a few members from both Class 1-A and 1-B, but even better, they were the ones that were fun to be around. So they all talked about the USJ incident while walking towards their dorms which were separated by classes, so Tempi had to leave to go to 1-C before the two other classes split up to get to their dorms... which were right next to each other.
'Looks like I'll be able to spend some time with Tempi and maybe train with Mira once in a while.' Thought Izuku as he walked into the dormitory behind the rest of his class. The dorm lounge was quite normal yet most of the class seemed to be amazed by it while Izuku found a directory. "Guys are on the second floor and girls and on the third floor." He said aloud which deflated the dreams of a certain pervert.
Either way, everyone brushed off Minoru's reaction and went to their assigned dorm where they started to decorate their dorm room. Once Izuku was done, his dorm room seemed to be a bit remodeled as he made the windows for his dorm into screen doors for a balcony. While most of the interior stayed the same besides for the small microwave and mini-fridge he got installed, but of course, he had his computer set up for all his research needs along with Athena's crystal orb and Amaterasu's mirror that peered over the world.
"Nothing too interesting to look at, but it'll have to work." He said as Eris found herself sleeping on his bed, Amaterasu was on the balcony and Athena was drinking a cup of tea. "By the way, is there a kitchen? I'm starving."
On cue, Izuku's stomach growled which the two goddesses that were awake found funny while the sleeping one woke up from the sudden sound. "I believe it's on the first floor." Answered Athena before Izuku walked out of his room and straight to the kitchen.
Already there, the guys were watching tv and the girls were nowhere to be found, so Izuku found the kitchen instead and started making himself some dumplings. Halfway through the first batch, he could hear people walking down the hall so he poked his head out of the kitchen to see all the girls talking to each other. Staying unnoticed, Izuku went back into the kitchen to make more food... those goddesses don't know what a full belly is.
"Hey, we should do something more fun! Maybe we could check out everyone's rooms." Suggested Mina excitedly as the girls walked over to the guys who were still watching tv. "What about you guys? You want to check out everyone's room?" She asked as perverted thoughts and mumbles started to fill the room until a wonderful aroma started to come from the kitchen and overwhelm it.
"What's that smell?" Denki asked as he turned around from the couch and saw Izuku in the kitchen.
Hearing the simple question, Izuku turned around with a plate of about seventy dumplings in his hands and a few smaller plates on the counter. "Don't even think about it! I made these and you'll have to make your own food!" He shouted before Eris, Amaterasu, and Athena came down the stairs in that order and took two plates of dumplings upstairs. "Also, don't think about going into my room without my permission."
The one sentence made everyone shiver in fear of the teen as he walked up the stairs with a platter of dumplings in his hands, no one should take anyone like that seriously. Taking his advice, everyone returned to their normal selves and continued to talk throughout the night.
~ Dumplings! ~
A/N: So here's a filler chapter! And I added the dumpling part because I got hungry when I was writing this, so shut up. Also, I'm going to have a few plot changes and all that stuff that will be pretty major for this story coming soon.
The Question Of The Day!
Should I have just the UA Sport's Festival or the classic festival you see in almost every other anime? (Ex. Maid cafe, Unrelated Bathing Suit Competition, and Test of Courage stuff.)
