Jeremy walked into the basement of his old house and stared in shock and confusion at the sight. His mother was belted to a metal slab, his father holding a knife in his hand.

"Daddy? What are you doing to Mommy?" Jeremy asked as he walked forward. His father turned around with wide eyes and Jeremy blinked in innocent confusion.

"Well son, she was trying to leave. She knows she belongs to me. I was trying to protect her and she wouldn't let me. So I'm sending her somewhere happy where she won't need protecting." His dad sat the knife down and patted his head.

"Why did she try to leave?" Jeremy asked, following his father to a cabinet.

"Son I don't know. Maybe she was just tired of me but I'm not gonna let another man have her. She knows she belongs to me."

"So...if you can't have her...nobody will? Right?" Jeremy's eyes sparkled when his father nodded.

"Exactly kid. When you find somebody you love, and they love you, you'll do anything to keep them. Of course you're only in second grade so I doubt you'll understand yet. But I know one day you'll be following in my footsteps. You are my boy after all." Jeremy smiled and he hugged his father.

"Okay Daddy. When I fall in love I won't let anything come between me and them!" Jeremy squealed happily and his father smiled.

"You should get upstairs. This next part is...not suitable for young children." His father gently nudged for the stairs and Jeremy nodded. "Oh and...don't tell anybody about this alright?"

"Okay." Jeremy ran up the stairs happily, unaware that his father was essentially murdering his mother.

Jeremy smiled at the memory as he gave Michael his breakfast, he was so young back then. He knew now that this was protecting his love. Just like his dad had said. He knew Michael wouldn't leave like his mother had.

"Alright Micha, eat up, today is just a day for me and you and nobody else." Jeremy smiled wide and Michael looked down at the eggs and pancakes Jeremy had made him. "C'mon Micha, eat the food. Please. I spent a while on it." Jeremy made a pouty face and watched as Michael poked his food.

He sighed and walked over to the plate and used the fork to pick up the eggs. He began feeding Michael, pleased he gave in so easily.

Jeremy also played with Michael's hair as he fed him, knowing it calmed him down.

When he finished feeding him, he smiled wide.

"You're doing so good Love! Now we can do whatever you want to do today." Jeremy's smile was genuine as he washed the dishes. Michael thought about a chance to get the old Jeremy back and took it.

"C-Can we maybe...play some video games?" He asked softly and Jeremy turned around and clapped.

"That's a great idea Michael. Whaddya wanna play?" Jeremy asked and Michael seemed to smile when he got an idea.

"I wanna play Apocolypse of the Damned. I wanna try and best level nine." He stated, and Jeremy nodded.

They set up the TV and sat on the couch when the game turned on. Michael heard the familiar tune and smiled wide when he pressed the two player mode.

The familiar sight of the cafetorium brought nostalgia to his face.

"D-Do you remember last time we played this?" Michael asked as he began button mashing like usual.

"It was..after the Squipcident I believe. The day I told you I love you." Jeremy gently nudged himself towards Michael and kissed him. "November 15th."

"Yeah... That's still the best day of my life." Michael just killed another zombie as he felt Jeremy lean on his shoulder. He didn't resist.

Mainly because Jeremy was acting like he used to...which made Michael extremely happy. Jeremy had forgotten to give him his medicine which was why he wasn't acting dead.

"Damnit! I'm outta lives Micha." Jeremy mumbled and Michael let himself die.

"Well we don't do this without each other. We start over and take out the enemies." Michael told him with confidence and Jeremy nodded.

"I can't believe it...I actually got him back...and while it might not be for long...at least I got my Jeremy back..." Michael thought as they restarted the level and played through it.

Still no luck.

They continued trying to beat the level for hours it seemed, and when they finally stopped, Jeremy checked his phone.

"Shit...Micha I gotta give you your medicine." Jeremy said and Michael sighed. Well there went his fun. Before he could do anything, there was a knock at the door. "Okay stay there I'm get the door."

Jeremy walked to the door and opened it.

"Christine?" He looked at the shorter girl in front of him and thought about the play. He'd long since lost his crush on her.

"J-Jeremy, Jake went m-missing! That's six p-people. I came to warn you and Michael b-because only males are vanishing." She whispered, shaking in fear.

Jeremy put on a fake expression of worry and put a hand on her shoulder.

"It's alright Chris. Me and Michael will be careful, and if we find any signs of Rich and Jake, we'll tell you, now you should get home. Jenna's probably worried about you." Jeremy told her and she nodded.

"Just thought I'd tell you, bye Jeremy. Oh and tell Michael I said hi!" She ran off to her car and began driving home.

Michael had heard the entire conversation and decided to feign sleep on the couch.

"Aww Micha did you get tired?" Jeremy asked, kissing Michael sweetly on the lips. "I guess I'll let you skip a day for the medicine. Besides, you deserve some well earned rest, you've exerted your brain on killing zombies all day heh." Jeremy carried him upstairs and tucked him in bed.

Michael kept his eyes closed as he heard the door shut. Jeremy walked over and kissed him before cuddling up next to him.

"G'night Micha...I love you." Jeremy whispered and he closed his eyes, falling asleep in mere seconds.

Michael glanced at him and actually smiled genuinely. Jeremy looked peaceful for once... not insane...not a psycho.

He looked like Jeremy. Like the small, freckle faced, acne covered, blue eyed, brunette he was supposed to be. The boy Michael had fallen in love with.

He slowly turned around and kissed Jeremy for once, holding him in his arms.

The first time Michael got sleep without drugs in a long time had been that night.
