blue tongues, cherry lips (poem)
Even the sun danced differently on my skin back then
Sugar didn't taste rotten
All of us,
Together,
Heaven
Air was light and didn't sit in my lungs like bricks, bees were scary, but my uncle taught me how to play the guitar
Our voices were high like floating balloons disappearing into the spring clouds, our laughter constant like the seasons
My mother didn't try to kill me or herself
And I never had the urge to do both
We were together, happy
always, holding hands by the lake, three colors melted together like ombre
And I miss it.
