I walked to the empty seat in front of emi and stared out the window.

I turned to her.

"Do I know you?" I said.

"Probably not. I don't think I've ever met you before. My name's paku. What's yours?"

"Yuki."

"Pretty name. So you're new? "

"Yep. "

"I hope you get settled in here at this new school. Good luck! "

"Thanks."

I turned back around.

Maybe she could be emi's mother?

Probably. This is weird. Just werid. She looks exactly like her.

Then the teacher walked into the room.

"Today we will be learning..."

Blah, blah, blah. I zoned the teacher out.

This is so BORING!

After school had ended I started to walk back home then remembered what uncle yukio had said.

They can't trust me.

Maybe I should've stayed in my own time.

I kept walking until I had made it to a small garden and sat down.

I picked a good amount of blue flowers and made a crown of them and put them in my hair. I had to pass the time somehow.

I looked at my wristwatch and saw it was already 7:30.

Wow, time passes fast.

I don't wanna go back there but, I need to face them sooner or later.

I went back to the dorm and saw that dad was busy playing videogames and uncle yukio was busy studying.

I avoided them and ran quickly to my room.

"Yuki?" dad said before I could open my door.

I turned around.

"Yes? "

"We need to talk."

I sighed.

"Okay."

I went into the main room and sat down on one of the chairs.

Uncle yukio pushed up his glasses and looked at me from across the room and dad was sitting on the ground.

There's so much tension in the room!

"We're supposed to be talking, right?"

They straightened up.

"Yes. I'm sorry for what I said this morning. It was stupid for me think that." uncle yukio said.

"Yes it was stupid. I accept your apology though."

"Okay. Can we do something for you?" dad said.

"What? "

Dad smiled.

"Celebrate your birthday! You said your birthday was the day before yesterday!"

"I did? "

"Uh-huh. So go get dressed and get ready to go!"

"Where are we going?"

"That's a surprise."

I ran to my room and put on a white T-shirt that dad lent me and my black jeans. I toke my hair out of its pigtails and braided it.

Then I went back downstairs and smiled at uncle yukio. I'm glad I'm not avoiding them anymore. I felt really lonely without them there.

"You ready?" he said.

Dad then popped up behind me and hugged me.

"Let's go!"

He grabbed me and uncle yukios hand and ran out the door.

---10 minutes later---

After freaking 10 minutes of running we made it to this small restaurant.

We sat down in one of the booths and ordered our meals.

I looked across the room and was surprised to see izumo and paku sitting together at one of the booths and laughing.

They look like really good friends.

Paku then looked around the room and saw me and waved.

"Hey Yuki, come sit over here!"

"Hey dad, you mind if I go sit with paku for a little while?"

"I don't mind. Go have fun."

"Thanks." I said and hugged him and left to go sit beside paku.

"Hey paku. Hey izumo."

"Hey! Izumo this is that new girl I met today at school."

"It is huh? "

"Yeah. So Yuki what's your reason for coming to this restaurant?"

"A late birthday present from..."

I didn't wanna tell her that rin's my dad. I've learned that usually when I tell people that here I get some werid looks.

"From... My cousin rin."

"You're cousins with rin! Lucky!"

"I guess."

"He's like the hottest guy in school, but he has no girlfriend so pretty much every girl in school wishes they could be with him or his brother."

Izumo then started glaring at me from across the table.

"Yuki why are you even here? " Izumo said.

"What do you mean, I already said that I came to the restaurant because-"

"No I don't mean that. I mean why did you even come here. Nobody wants you here. "

"What? "

"Izumo, stop!" paku said.

"Nobody wants a lowlife orphan around them. So go away."

I got up from my seat and ran out of the restaurant crying.

"What did I do to piss her off so much?"

I ran down the sidewalk until I reached a bench and sat down.

Then I heard him.

"Yuki! " Renzo shouted.

He ran to me.

"Why does it seem like everytime we meet you're crying?"

"I don't know."

"Come on. I know what'll cheer you up."

He took me to an ice cream stand and brought two chocolate ice cream cones.

"Thanks."

"Don't mention it. So why were you crying?"

"Izumo. She starting talking about how I shouldn't even be here and nobody wants me. "

He laughed.

"And you believed her? "

"What do you mean? "

"If nobody wanted you here, you wouldn't be here. Everybody wants you here."

"Even izumo?"

"Somewhere in izumo, she wants you here too."

"That's hard to believe."

"Not too hard."

We stayed silent for a while until he touched my hand.

"Wha-"

"I really want you here, Yuki."

Then he kissed me.

He stopped then and got up.

"See you later, Yuki."

And he walked away.
