Chapter 1

I stumble through the front doors of Elmer High School, my uniform becoming ruffled as I get shoved past people almost identical outfits, all much taller than myself.

Mud is smashed into the tiled floor from the students tramping through the fields behind the small Irish country school.

My aqua schoolbag is tattered on my shouders, heavy with textbooks for the upcoming day, a day that I was dreading.

I wasn't popular, though I wasn't invisible, either.

I wish I was.

That way, I could hide from the bullies, my tormenters, torturers.

I wish I was popular, so I could blend in with that crowd.

But I wasn't my brother, who had recently been on 'holiday' and decided to acquire bright blue hair, shifting like the thousands of hues of the sea.

He was popular instantly after that.

His looks had changed aswell.

I couldn't tell what exactly changed, but there was some sort of etheral beauty about him. Something not quite human.

He had started wearing contacts, I knew he didn't need them, but I had caught him slipping them on some mornings.

I hated it.

There was him, who had suddenly become incredibly strong and handsome, with magical hair.

And there was me, with weak, spaghetti arms, a pretty but rather plain face, and normal blonde hair.

I was snapped from my thoughts when I was shoved to the floor, my skirt flying above my head.

I am slammed to the floor, and my bag was ripped off of my shoulders as I heard an evil cackle.

I scramble to my knees, flattening my rumpled skirt, and rise unsteadily to my feet. This was routine for me. It was bound to happen at some point today.

I watch helplessly as my bag is emptied of its contents.

My cheeks flare in embaressment as a small crowd gathers, watching as the puny weakling of the school is harassed in their hallways.

I feel my blue eyes water and my chin begins to wobble slightly.

I no longer had Aden to protect me.

I no longer had someone to stand up for me when this happened.

I was completely alone.

I was helpless as Aden's seemingly 'perfect' girlfriend emptied my schoolbag onto the mud-coated floor.

I hated this school.
