Chapter 10

Slowly, Zoey began to recognize things around her. She felt herself on the cold, metal floor. Only a thin, small blanket covered her. She was still wearing her Jasper High t-shirt and pajama pants. Her head was throbbing slightly, though that was the least of her concerns. She was in a small room with dark gray metal walls, floor, and ceiling. There were faint glows of purple from accents on the walls, floor, and ceiling. A single door was on the wall. Zoey immediately jumped up and ran over to the door, pounding on it. "HEY! LET ME OUT!" she shouted. No one answered her. Zoey tried to transform into her Cybertronian form, but it didn't work. "I'm stuck here, on the Nemesis, with no way to contact anyone. Scrap," she muttered. She tried to think up of ways to escape the room, but nothing came to mind. Zoey thrust her hands into the pockets of her pajama pants, a habit she's formed that whenever she becomes frustrated, she sticks her hands in her pockets. But, her left hand brushed something in the pocket. Zoey quickly grabbed it and brought out the object, revealing her phone.

Zoey smiled and quickly ran over to the small blanket in the middle of the room before picking it up. She sat down and draped the blanket over her, protecting her from any cameras the Decepticons were using. She quickly scrolled through her contacts until she came to the one that said, 'Science-Fiction Club'. It was a secret code-name she had for the Autobot base. With a smirk, Zoey quickly pressed the call button and pressed the phone to her ear, listening as the phone rang. "Come on, come on, come on pick up," she muttered. After a few moments, the ringing stopped and she heard a voice on the other end. "Who is it?" a voice asked. Zoey almost cried in joy to hear the voice of the grumpy medic. "Ratchet! It's me, Zoey!" she replied in relief. "Z-Zoey?!" he exclaimed. She could hear a chorus of exclamations from the background, all originating from the others. "Yeah, it's me. Listen, I kinda need some help," she said. At that moment, the roar of an engine came from the other end before a series of clicks and whirrs. "Zoey's missing!" a voice exclaimed. She quickly recognized the voice as Smokescreen. He must've tried to visit her, but find her apartment in the mess it had turned into after Knockout kidnapped her.

"Uhhh, Smokes, I'm kinda in some trouble. Sorry about the apartment. Blame Knockout," she replied. Instantly the sound of peds running over to the screen reached her ears. "Zoey! Oh thank Primus! What happened? Where are you?" Smokescreen asked. "Uh, well, shortly after you left I got a visit from a certain egotistical 'Con who ruined my apartment during my kidnapping, now I'm stuck on the Nemesis and I can't transform into a Cybertronian to take down this door and escape," Zoey replied. "Alright, that's all well and good, but why is NO ONE QUESTIONING WHY ZOEY CALLED SMOKESCREEN SMOKES?!" Miko exclaimed. A voice started whispering to Miko, while Zoey turned her attention back to Ratchet. "Are you hurt?" he asked. "No, at least, I don't think so," Zoey replied. "Alright, I'm going to help you try to get out. The Decepticons most likely placed a small tracker on you to keep track of you, so you're going to have to find it and take it off. It is most likely the reason you can't transform," Ratchet said. Zoey started to feel for the tracker, eventually finding it on her right shoulder blade. After ripping it off her, causing a small bit of energon/blood to flow out, she turned her attention back to Ratchet. "Alright, it's off," she replied. "Good. Now, search around the room for a small panel of some sorts. It should be close to the door," Ratchet said.

Zoey walked over to the door and felt along the wall, the blanket still draped around her. It was getting kinda cold. Finally, she found it and she took the panel off, revealing a lot of wires. "Alright, found it," she said. "Excellent. Now I need you to deactivate the door lock. It should be a green wire," Ratchet replied. Zoey's eyes found the green wire, but before she grabbed it, she noticed a second green wire. "There's two!" she exclaimed. "Scrap. One must be a decoy and set off an alarm if triggered. You need to cut the right wire," Ratchet replied. "Well, that's helpful, Ratchet!" Zoey sarcastically said. "Quit the sarcasm. If you cut the wrong wire, things will go south," Ratchet said. "Oh, well I'm sorry, but my life could be on the line right now so I have a right to be sarcastic!" Zoey angrily replied. "Just cut the right wire and you won't die," Ratchet said. "Who woulda thought, Sunshine," she muttered. "And don't call me Sunshine," Ratchet replied. Zoey rolled her eyes. "She's another Wheeljack," Arcee muttered.

Zoey ignored the others and looked at both wires. She had to decide, otherwise, she'd never get out. Either right wire or left. Right or left. Zoey bit her lip, unable to decide. "Well, right should be right, right?" she asked herself. She heard a few snickers from the other end of the line. Ignoring them, she continued to ponder. Zoey slowly reached her hand for the right wire, grabbing it gently. She was about to pull but stopped. Her mind was saying the right, her gut said the left. Finally, she moved her hand and ripped out the left wire.

The door opened, no alarms. "Yes!" Zoey fist-bumped the air. She quickly ran out the door and crept along the side of the walls, in the small gully, as she tried to navigate her way through the giant warship. After a few minutes, she jumped out of the gully and tried to run across the way, when a voice shouted, "Hey!" Zoey felt herself be picked up and she came face-to-face with a vehicon. Quickly she transformed her hand into a blaster and quickly blasted the vehicon in the face, making him drop her. She hit her head on the ground and everything spun. Her phone was laying on the ground nearby her hand and Zoey could vaguely hear voices saying her name. She shook her head and grabbed her phone, running off away from the body of the offlined vehicon. As she ran, her head ached badly. Her ears rung. After a few short minutes, Zoey began to grow dizzy, her muscles fatigued. Not from the running. "Zoey, are you okay?" a worried Smokescreen asked. "I-I don't know. I feel dizzy, tired, my ears ring, and my head hurts like a glitch," Zoey weakly replied. A few moments later, Ratchet asked something.

"Did you hit your head?"

"Yeah. A vehicon picked me up, but I shot him in the face, he dropped me, I hit my head on the floor," Zoey replied. Silence came from the other end of the line. "Zoey, I think you have a concussion," Ratchet said after a few moments. Zoey could barely react, she felt so tired. "C-Concussion....?" she weakly asked. "Yes. You need to get off that ship immediately and get back to base," Ratchet replied. "O-Okay," Zoey replied. She staggered through the empty halls, desperate to find a way off the Primus-forsaken ship. Eventually, she came to a small control center with a vehicon at the station. Zoey charged up her blaster and fired, offlining the vehicon. She then climbed up his limp body and started to press buttons on the keypad, eventually opening up a Groundbridge. She quickly slid down the 'Con and staggered through the portal, coming to a large forest. The Groundbridge closed behind her, signaling no 'Cons would follow. Zoey tried to step forward, but her legs gave out. She fell to the leaf-covered forest floor, her phone falling from her hand. The last thing she heard was everyone calling her name, then everything turned black.
