Chapter 1

Dipper made his way back to his 'home'. Well, really the only thing that made it his home was the fact that both his gruncles and his sister lived there with him. If it weren't for them then he surely would have left by now.

The brown-headed siren swam into the small boat that had long since sunk into the ocean. Really the only thing that he liked about this old ship was that he had his own room. He wouldn't mind having to share it with his sister if he absolutely had to but the alone time that the room gives only makes it that much better. He swam into the gaping hole that was on the side of the boat and went to his quaint room and lied down on the mattress that was left in it.

The young siren yawned stretching before closing his eyes and going to sleep.

Dipper woke up and looked around. He could tell that it was night, even though it was just as dark when he went to sleep.

Dipper got off of the bed and swam outside of the boat, careful not to wake anyone. He slowly but surely swam to the top, ignoring the voice in the back of his mind of his Grunkle Ford telling him that it was forbidden for him to go up to the surface at all.

He had already broken that rule so many times now. It didn't really matter to him. He was surprised that he even considered not going at all.

The brunette sped up, not wanting to wait anymore. There was a big island at the surface, just directly above their boat. He had gone there on many occasions to get his notebooks and extra pencils if need be. And if he ever came up here at night then it was to go the forest that he had become so fond with.

Dipper arrived to the top of the and pulled himself on the shore... gracefully. He chanted the spell and watched as his tail took the form of legs and he stood up shakily. He quickly regained his ability to walk like a normal person and then some. His eyes glowed bright blue in the moonlight. He looked up towards the moon and sighed out softly. Why couldn't he have been born a human? Maybe then he wouldn't have so many rules. Maybe he wouldn't have to feel sorry all of the time. He jumped up to the top of one of the trees looking down on the human town that seemed to glow. He wanted so badly to be like one of them. He wanted so badly to experience love. After about an hour of walking around in the forest, and jumping into various trees, Dipper heard a voice and instantly hid amongst the trees and darkness.

The brown-headed siren looked past his hiding spot to look at the person making the noise.

"Alright, split up and gather supplies. Meet back here at midnight." One of them said. He heard his voice but couldn't see his face. It was pretty much too dark to see anything as a matter of fact.

They all nodded their heads and separated. One of the men started towards him and he stepped backward tripping over something and landing in a bush.

"Who's there?!" The person yelled in the darkness. Thatś when Dipper had a good look at him. He had sandy-brown hair and blue eyes. He pulled out a small pistol pointing it in the darkness. Not even batting an eye.

Dang it. Dipper thought glaring at the young man. He would have to shut up the tall human. Otherwise, he would give away Dipper's position. So he did the only thing he could think of.

He sang.

His voice was soft and barely cut over the sound of the ocean. But to the human that was the loudest thing he could have heard. He was caught in a trance he would not be getting out of.

Not as long as Dipper had anything to do about it.

Dipper watched as the human walked closer and closer to him despite his will. Dipper walked out from his hiding spot and reached out a hand up to the man's face. He almost felt sorry for him. Almost.

Dipper stroked the man's face with his right hand, still singing. His eyes were glowing bright blue, forcing the human to only look at him. With his free hand he reached up to his chest, his nails were sharpened upon will. The man screamed in excruciating pain as Dipper dug his hand into his chest. But he was unable to move.

Digging farther and farther until he found the organ he was looking for.

Violently, Dipper clawed at the man's heart, tearing it from his body. Feeling it beat a couple more times before dying off. Dipper watched as the shock and terror fell from the human's face as he slowly died in his arms. Finally, Dipper let go of the body that was resting against him and took a step backward, leaving the body to fall down to the ground before him.

It was a shame Dipper thought. ¨It looked like the man could have lived a good life,¨ The siren said to himself with a sigh. He then looked down at the heart in his bloodied hands and dropped it like it was a hot coal. Dipper looked down at the sand underneath the dead body as his blood seeped into the ground. He looked down at his reddened hand in disgust. He needed to leave. Quickly. Surely someone heard the sound of the man's scream and was coming to see what had happened.

Dipper heard a slight rustling and before he could respond heard a loud bang and felt the bullet pierce his shoulder. His ears were deafened by the sound, only letting in the high pitched noise.

Dipper's hand instantly went to his left shoulder. He looked over where the bullet was shot from and saw a man with blonde hair and an eyepatch on his right eye. He recognized him as the one ordering the others around earlier. He was wearing a pirate's outfit in yellow and black. The shot siren's eyes wandered to his face to see the angered expression on his face and looked at the pistol in his hand. Dipper's eyes widened.

Dipper's instinct instantly kicked in telling him to run. And he did. He was about halfway back to the ocean when another shot rang out, this time just missing him. Dipper kept running. Tears pricked his eyes. Surely he would die by the hands of a pirate before he even got to the water.

Dipper tripped over himself and coughed violently. He needed to get to the water as quickly as possible. The bullet wound was taking its toll on him.

The brunette felt a presence from above him and turned around to look at the pirate holding the pistol downwards at the siren.

Dipper's eyes widened. Never before had he been so scared.

Another shot rang out in the deafening silence.
