Noor's POV:
"Do I have your attention?" I asked, placing my pillow on my lap and Ammar looked at me from the mirror where he had been setting his hair since last five minutes. He set the gel down and turned around, facing me. I smiled at him as he nodded while walking towards me.
"Yes, now you have my attention." He spoke as he jumped on the bed, by my side. It made the bed bounce and my note book fell out of my lap on the bed. I shook my head lightly and picked the book up again and looked at him as he leaned forward and kissed my cheek. I smiled as soft blush covered my cheeks.
"Thank you, cause I was starting to wonder how long you would take you set your hair to go to bed." I remarked with slight sarcasm and he chuckled.
"Sass, I see." He pinched my one cheek and I moved back of it.
"Okay, now we should start." I said over his chuckle and he nodded.
"Definitely." He replied as he leaned forward and my eyes widened before I slapped his bicep lightly.
"Ammar-" I started with a frown and he started to laugh as he raised his hands in surrender.
"Kidding, kidding." He cleared and I narrowed my eyes at him. He sat right in front of me and crossed legs like I was seated. He nodded then.
"I am listening, go on." He said with a smile and I raised an eyebrow and uncapped the pen before unfolding the note book.
"Sure? Should we begin?" I asked and he nodded to assure me. I smiled and lowered my eyes to the note book as I whispered.
"Bismillahi al rahman al rahim." I whispered and wrote down in arabic as I begin the book.
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيم
I looked up at Ammar and found him staring at the words with interest.
"You know how to write arabic." He stated and I nodded.
"Alhamdulillah yes."
"What did you wrote?" He asked as he took the book and make it turn around so the words were now facing his rightly. I recieted.
"Bismillah ir-Rahman ir-Rahim." He looked up at me and a small frown was on his forehead.
"It means, In the name of God, most Gracious, most Compassionate." I explained carefully and he nodded slowly, his grey focused eyes returning back to the words written on the new book.
"You started this book with the name of ALLAH." He said and I smiled, raising my hand as I rest it beneath his chin and made him he look at me.
"I started our journey to be a better Muslim with the name of our creator." I spoke and he smiled before taking my hand from under his chin, kissing my fingers.
"Bismillah ir-Rahman ir-Rahim." He spoke, trying to say the way I recieted and the fact that he wants to do this just as much I want it made my heart swell with happiness. I smiled and took in a deep breath.
"Starting with surah Sana." I smiled and looked down at the attached print. I unfold the paper and showed him. His eyes trained on the page as well.
"First of all we start with reciting Isteftah Dua, opening prayer." I said and pointed on the surah on the page.
"Sub-haana kallahumma wa bihamdika wa tabaarakasmuka wa ta-aalaa jadduka wa laa ilaaha ghairuk." I recited and felt Ammar's eyes at me. I looked at him once finished and he smiled.
"You sound beautiful." He said in adorned and I sighed.
"Quran. Quran sounds beautiful." I corrected and he nodded after few seconds of re-thinking. I lowered my gaze to the page again and started reading the tarjuma, translation a loud.
"O Allah! You are Glorious, Praise worthy; Your name is blessed, Your status exalted and there is no God but You." Once again I looked at him after I finished and he nodded.
"I have to by heart it?" He asked as he looked down at the page and I nodded.
"Yes, you have to. So you can pray." I smiled politely and he pointed down at the page.
"What is this after surah?" I followed his finger and it was directed at Taawuz.
"After opening the prayer, we recite Taawuz, then Tasmiya and then Surah Fatiha." I explained and he nodded slowly, taking in all the information. He was concentrating, I could tell by his eyes. I smiled and recited.
"Au-duh Billahi Minashshaitanir Rajim." Ammar nodded slowly to my recitation. I then lowered my finger to Tasmiya written and recited.
"Bismillah ir-Rahman ir-Rahim." His finger traced over the english Quran written on the page under the Arabic. He nodded.
"Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim." He recited in low voice and looked up at me. I smiled at him
"Beautiful." I spoke and he smiled.
"That's you." He tapped my nose and I closed my eyes for a second and opened again.
He took the page from my hand and started lowly reading the Surah, I guess he already started to learn it by heart. I looked down at the note book and wrote down the date. Just to remember the day my husband took the first step to Islam way. Alhamdulillah.
20-12-2016. I smiled, recording the date and there was a knock on the door. I looked up and Ammar looked at me.
"You continue, I will see." I said and stood up as I walked to the door. I opened the door and saw Mrs. Khalid stood by the door. I smiled and greeted her with salaam. She returned my smile but it didn't reached her eyes.
"Noor, can you come with me for a minute?" She asked. Worry and tension laced in her voice. I nodded and went back to get my hijab, it's night time. Mr. Khalid can be at home. Ammar looked at me as I wrapped my hijab while walking back to the door.
"Where to?" He asked me and I stopped near door.
"Mom called." I informed and Ammar nodded, going back to the reading. I stepped out of the room and found Mrs. Khalid already near the stairs. I followed her and she lead me downstairs. I hugged myself as the fresh cold wind passed in through the open door of the house. I frowned, it's almost midnight, why the door is open. Just as I was to walk again, I saw a man driving away in his brown car. I tilt my head lightly, was it brother Klaus?
"Noor." My eyes went back at Mrs. Khalid as she signaled me to come over to her. I walked to her and she ushered me inside Rukaiya's and Rabia's room. I looked at Mrs. Khalid confused as I found both girls sleeping in their beds. Mrs. Khalid held my wrist as she made me walk up to Rukaiya's bed.
"I am scared why this is here." Mrs. Khalid spoke slowly and I frowned at her before looking down at Ammar's sister. She was sleeping peacefully.
"What..?" I asked, voicing my confusion. She took in a deep breath and pulled away, Rukaiya's quilt. I took a step back.
"Mom she will wake up." I said lowly as Mrs. Khalid removed the blanket. She looked back at me and shook her head.
"She takes sleeping pills. She won't wake up till morning." Mrs. Khalid informed me and I took in a short breath. shocked to hear that. My eyes went to Rukaiya's innocent face. She was sleeping, but I wondered why would she take sleeping pills..
What kept her awake at nights that she was to go to this direction and take sleeping pills..
