LOOK, IF SEREIA VAIDA WAS BEING HONEST, SHE WASN'T REALLY IN THE MOOD TO SPEAK TO ANYONE. Waking up way too early, with a burn mark and bleeding lip wasn't anything fun. Neither was the nightmare, which made her want to shrink away, and hide herself in her hands. It made no sense—taking the person's hand, her mother speaking to her, the man with green hair.
She doesn't dream every night—they've been more scarce lately, along with nightmares. When Sereia was younger, she was sure she got night terrors, and from what she had seen of the man, maybe he was the reason for them. Maybe he was her father, calling her weak and stupid. Pathetic.
She'd only been able to get a few more hours asleep after the nightmare. Waking up every half an hour was annoying, due to the same scenes continuing to shift, with some new ones falling upon her. A stabbing pain in her side, as she looked upon someone, ready to die. An illusion of a girl tricking that man, which disappears. Blood, splattered against the ground, which had made Sereia's hands shake.
Her hands were bandaged, along with her arm, and her lip had stopped bleeding. She was glad the U.A. uniforms covered the full arm, otherwise the bandages on her arm would be on display for the rest of the class. If needed, Sereia could just lie about how she'd gotten them—accidentally activating her Quirk when she was asleep, and cutting her hands on broken glass.
"Vaida?" A voice asks from behind her, and she's mentally there enough to turn around, seeing Midoriya run forwards, a smile on his face. She notices his tie, which isn't done correctly—compared to hers, which was neat. She wants to fix it, but she's not fully convinced her hands will work with her today. Not after the glass. "What happened to your hands? Why are they all bandaged? Are you okay?"
Sereia puts her hands out, examining the bandages as Midoriya stands next to her. "Oh," She starts, before sighing softly, a smile on her face. "I'm not completely sure. I think I was just really out of it when I woke up, and I broke a glass of water. The shards cut into my hands, so I had to clean and bandage them. I'm alright."
Not really. Not when she kept seeing such heartbreaking things, that made her want to scream and cry. Things that made her want to throw up. Her voice screaming to stop, that she didn't want to see those...memories anymore. The one of the man seemed to be a memory, yet the rest seemed to be future events. Though, it's not like Sereia wanted them to happen. If anything, she hoped all of them would disappear, leaving her alone.
The two are getting close to U.A., though that's when the reporters are seen. Sure, both of them had caught a bit of them, but not the entire posse. Not when all of them are trying to get in to the prestigious school, and they probably wouldn't stop at anything to do it.
There's a small flicker of hope in Sereia's chest that they'll be able to make it past the reporters without getting noticed, but it's like a moth to a flame. They're almost like reporter magnets, with their hands wrapped in bandages, and their different looks—Sereia, who's determined to get to class, and Midoriya, who's nervous.
Well, maybe not nervous, but something along those lines, as he stands next to her, teeth clenched as he's asked questions by a brunette woman. Obviously a reporter, meanwhile, a man with black hair looks over at Sereia. Watches her.
"Hey, you two! Can you two tell us what it's like to work so closely with All Might?" The woman asks, shoving her microphone in Midoriya's face, and the man does the same for Sereia. Others seem to zoom in, with their cameras, recording, or ready to take pictures. Hopefully, though, no photos are taken of either of them.
Midoriya shakes his head, moving his arms as he speaks. "Um, sorry, we have to go to the, uh, the nurse's office! Yeah, right away!" The boy takes her hand, and Sereia almost wants to push back the entire group of reporters back with her Quirk, but she doesn't.
His hand loosens slightly, and Sereia is about to start walking away, before a rough hand grabs at her. "Come on, we just want some information!" The man says, which makes the other reporters around him nod, and Sereia groans, twisting her hand out of his grip. His grip was bruising—just like the man's was in the dream, and Sereia doesn't know whether to freeze up, or flinch. "You have to let the people know something!"
Sereia realizes that moment that she's not the one being talked to, as a piece of gray fabric wraps itself around the man's hand, away from her. She'd already gotten herself out of the grip—it hurt, but it didn't leave her with a burn mark, or a bruise. "Please, sir. Can you get All Might for us? Also, you look kind of like a mess, what's your deal?" The brunette woman asks Aizawa, who stands slightly in front of the students.
"All Might's not on campus today." Aizawa deadpans, before lifting his hand up as if to say shoo. Maybe that would make the reporters get away from the class. "Now, get outta here, you've disturbed my students enough already."
Midoriya looks over at Sereia, sighing as the two walk towards the building, Aizawa further behind them. The female reporter is yelling back at the man, wanting to know things about All Might, though there's no response to his words.
"How's your hand?" Midoriya asks, and Sereia looks at him, confused for a moment. It didn't hurt too much—really, as the burn mark from the nightmare hurt more, and it shouldn't have even been real. "That man grabbed you. And he—"
He's cut off when U.A.'s defense system goes off, and it's the end of the conversation. Most likely, the woman tried to get past the gate, but the Barrier stopped her from doing so. Stopped her from trying to ask any more annoying questions. The walk to the classroom isn't too long, with Sereia asking the boy about his injuries, and if they had healed up yet. He'd nodded eagerly, asking about her own wounds.
All she had answered him with was a, "Bad night. You know, nightmares, and whatever,", as if it wasn't more than that. Though, she'd probably get called crazy for it, which was not something she was interested in.
How could the subject even be approached? Would anyone even want to hear about her horrifying dreams? The way things from the future seemed to flow around her, forced into her mind way too soon. Her Quirk wasn't Foresight—the future wasn't something she could easily tap into.
So why was it finding itself in her dreams? Why her? Ersa didn't know about it—she didn't know what the older girl would even do if she knew about Sereia's creepy dreams. The black haired man, who was so similar to the older man—the way he had grabbed at her, looking down at her. He'd looked similar to the man that was dying, but that's not something to think about.
No, he was just a random reporter, who was trying to learn about All Might. Not someone from her weird dream. Not someone she saw dying—definitely not. Why would she see a reporter dying? He'd grabbed on her arm, but then again, she is also a U.A. student, being taught by All Might. Someone he wanted information on. Being the sister of a famous pro hero would also do the trick.
"Decent work on yesterday's combat training, you guys." Aizawa's voice cuts through, and Sereia's glad it stops her train of thought. Her teacher places the papers he's holding back onto the desk, looking at his students. "I saw the video feeds and went over each of your team's results. Bakugo...you're talented. So don't sulk like a child about your loss, okay?"
Aizawa's words are rough in the end, and Bakugo watches the man, before looking away. Probably holding back a scoff, he mutters, "Yeah, whatever."
"And Midoriya," Aizawa starts, picking the paper's up again, and the green haired boy looks down, most likely hoping the teacher looks somewhere else. "I see the only way you won the match was by messing up your arm again. Work harder. And don't give me the excuse you don't have control over your Quirk. That line's already getting old. You can't keep breaking your body while training here."
To some degree, Sereia understands his words—how Midoriya, in the first two days of school, had broken his body. Aizawa is blunt with his words, no sugar coating how Midoriya needed to gain better control over his Quirk.
Aizawa dips his head slightly. "But, your Quirk will be really useful if you can get a handle on it." The man says, which makes Midoriya lift his head, gasping softly. "So show a little urgency, huh?"
Midoriya looks up, nodding his head. "Right!" He responds, obviously determined by the man's words.
"Let's get down to business. Our first task will decide your future." Aizawa starts, which freaks the class out—if the class was quiet before, now she could probably hear everything. The task could be a multitude of things—a Quirk test, with the fear of expulsion, or something to a lighter degree. "You all need to pick a class representative."
The words draw ease over the class, as Kirishima seems to jump out of his seat, a smile on his face. "Pick me, guys! I wanna be class rep!" The red haired boy exclaims.
"I'll take it!" Kaminari offers, raising his hand.
Next to him, Jiro also raises her hand. "Yeah, you're gonna need me." She states, her voice blunt—almost the complete opposite of Kaminari and Kirishima's voices.
"Someone with style would be best—" Aoyama starts, but, as always, he's interrupted by Ashido, who's smiling and waving her arms around as she speaks.
"I'm totally the right pick!"
The hero course is different when it comes to a class representative—not extra work, but a way to get noticed by hero agencies. A way to show leadership, which would help out in their future careers. It makes sense why all of the students around her were raising their hands, eager to be picked as their representative.
"Silence, everyone, please!" Iida's voice cuts through, which stops all of the side conversations. "The class representative's duty is to lead others. That's not something just anyone can do. You must first have the trust of every student in the classroom. Therefore, the most logical way at to fill this position is democratically. We will hold an election to choose our leader!"
As he finishes speaking, Iida raises a hand, and Sereia knows he wants the students to vote for him. "Is this really the best idea?" Kaminari asks, looking dumbfounded at Iida as he speaks.
"We've only known each other for a few days, how do we know who we can trust?" Tsu questions, placing a finger on her face. She's not wrong—it's their third day of school, so the most the students know about one another is their Quirks. And, maybe, how much Bakugo hates Midoriya.
Kirishima nods at Tsu's words. "Besides, everyone'll just vote for themselves." The red haired boy counters, which Sereia nods at—if everyone votes for themselves, they'll make it nowhere.
"Most people will." Iida tries to reason, though it falls short, in a way. "But that means whoever does receive multiple votes must truly be the most suitable person for the job. It's the best way, right, sir?"
Iida turns to Aizawa as he finishes speaking, though the teacher doesn't seem to care—which doesn't surprise Sereia. He's inside of his yellow sleeping bag, zipping it up at the end of Iida's speech. "Do what you want, just decide before my nap's over." Aizawa replies, which makes Iida nod.
"Thank you for your trust!" Iida calls back. Sereia rolls her eyes at his words, before scratching her hand.
She looks over at Yaoyorozu, who doesn't make much noise. "How badly does Iida want us to vote for him?" Sereia asks, to which the girl shrugs her shoulders—in all honestly, Sereia hopes Yaoyorozu wins. Her analysis of the mock battles was a show of leadership—and she didn't annoy her, unlike Iida.
Every person gets one vote—Sereia doesn't think she'd going to win, considering she didn't show too much leadership over the past two days. She writers down the name, lets the slip of paper get collected, and she waits for the results. Even though being the class representative came with more opportunities, it also came with heavier responsibilities.
"How did I get three votes?" A voice cries out, and Sereia turns her head, seeing that Midoriya won—he was the class representative. Everyone seems fine with the boy winning—besides Bakugo, who glares at the screen.
Her eyes follow up to it, as Bakugo stands up, yelling, "Okay, you idiots, who voted for him?" On the board, Midoriya had three votes, meanwhile Yaoyorozu had two. Her name had one vote—hopefully it wasn't Mineta who did that, though he seemed weirdly obsessed with Yaoyorozu.
"What, did you honestly think anyone was gonna vote for you?" Sero retorts, which makes Bakugo snap his head towards the other boy, anger evident in his tone. It's an interesting thing—how Bakugo was so worked up over Midoriya winning something over him, yet if they were enemies, in some way, it made sense.
"What did you just say?" Bakugo demands, before shouting back at Sero. Sereia doesn't focus on it, her eyes instead following Iida, who's hunched over his seat, obviously upset.
Distressed seems to be a better word, with his fists clenched. "Zero votes..." Iida mutters, which makes the classmates closest to him stare. "I feared this might happen, but I can't argue with the system I chose!"
"So you voted for someone else, huh?" Yaoyorozu asks, staring at the blue haired boy.
"But you knew it was best to vote for yourself, right?" Sato starts, not taking his eyes off of the other boy. "What were you tryin' to prove here, Iida?"
Sereia purses her lips, looking at the boy. "Why would you choose a system that could make you lose?" She questions, even though she knows why—he wanted to align himself with good views. Fairness. "Whatever views you're trying to follow didn't help you out."
Todoroki dips his head in acknowledgment, just as Midoriya and Yaoyorozu walk up to the front of the class, standing next to the podium. Midoriya seems to be shaking, most likely confused with being the choice of class rep.
"All right, the class rep is Midoriya, and our deputy is Yaoyorozu." Aizawa states, still in his sleeping bag, though he doesn't seem to care too much.
"Really?" Midoriya begins, his voice shaky, which makes Yaoyorozu look over at him, either with concern or annoyance. More likely concern—he hasn't done anything to annoy her. "Uh. It's not a mistake?"
Yaoyorozu sighs, turning her head away from him. "How'd this happen?" She asks, and Sereia bites the inside of her lip—so she doesn't know the girl too well. That's fine. They've only known each other for two days.
"This might not be so bad." Tsu says, placing a finger to her lips like she always does.
Kirishima smiles at her words. "Yeah, I can get behind Midoriya, I guess." He says, looking over at Tsu, who looks back at him.
"Yaoyorozu was totally on top of it when it came to our training results!" Kaminari says, and before Sereia knows it, it's lunch—easy enough, as she stands up and walks out the door.
Sereia bumps Yaoyorozu's shoulder. "Are you excited to be deputy?" She asks, and the girl just sighs, pressing a hand to her head. "Maybe we can ask them to eat lunch with us. You know, Midoriya, so you two can talk about being class rep and deputy."
Yaoyorozu stares at her for a moment, considering the words, before nodding slightly. "That...wouldn't be too bad of an idea." The girl says, as the two walk towards the table—the food looks good, but Sereia isn't too hungry.
"You'll be great," Is the first sign of the three she hears, and it's Iida's voice—she's somewhat surprised that he's...okay with not being the class rep. Sereia notices Midoriya hum, and the look up at his friend, as the two approach the table. "Your courage and quick thinking under stress will help make you a worthy leader. Not to mention the strength you demonstrated. Those are the reasons I voted for you, at least."
Midoriya looks surprised that Iida voted him, tensing up slightly. "You were one of the three?" He asks, to which Iida just nods.
"Midoriya," Yaoyorozu starts, which makes the boy tense up even more, looking up at the girl. "Since you're the class rep, and I'm the deputy, maybe we should start figuring out who the other officers will be."
The boy nods his head. "Ah, yeah! Right!" He answers, the same determination etched on his face from earlier. He gestures to the open spots next to him, and the one next to Iida. "Uh, please, sit down!"
The situation seems awkward, but Sereia just shrugs her shoulders, allowing Yaoyorozu to pick her spot first—next to Iida, whereas Sereia sits next to Midoriya. Maybe it would be easier to be across from one another?
"Didn't you wanna be class rep really bad, I mean, you do look the part, 'Cause of the glasses!" Uraraka butts in, smiling as she speaks. Iida somewhat looks the part, but he also acts like it too—yelling at Tokoyami the day before, along with his argument with Bakugo on the first day of school. All in all, he already seemed like the class rep, even if it wasn't his position.
Yet, he wasn't voted as class rep—maybe because of house strict he was, scolding the other students. In a way, acting like he was their parent, instead of their fellow classmate.
Iida takes a sip of his orange juice, before putting the glass down. "Wanting a job and being suited to it are quite different things. Observing the Iida family's hero agency has taught me that much." The boy explains, which makes his fellow classmates look up, obviously confused.
"Agency?" Uraraka and Midoriya ask at the same time, before Midoriya backtracks slightly. "Hold on, what does your family do?"
Yaoyorozu looks over at Sereia, who just shrugs her shoulders. "Uh—oh, it's nothing." Iida says quickly, but that doesn't end the conversation. Instead, Uraraka leans into him slightly, still holding onto her bowl of rice.
"You know, I've been wondering something about you," Uraraka starts, placing her food down as she moves back slightly, though she keeps her eyes on Iida. "Admit it, Iida. You're filthy rich!"
The blue haired boy looks shocked at the words, before sighing and looking away. "I was afraid people would treat me differently if they knew about my family," Iida starts, and Sereia would be lying if she said she wasn't interested. Yaoyorozu does as well, looking over at Iida as she takes a bite of her food. "You see, the Iidas have been prob heroes for generations. It runs in our blood."
Sereia wonders if he means it literally, considering what his Quirk was.
"What? That's awesome!" Uraraka and Midoriya exclaim at the same time, in sync with each other. It was only the third day of school, so how were they already so similar? Sereia, on the other hand, isn't as impressed—hearing about pro heroes and their Quirks was interesting, but there was always a heavy focus on her own.
Ersa Vaida is her hero—something she's always been. Even if jealousy ran through Sereia every time her sister manipulated the elements she could barely feel, she was there. High up on the charts, with her sidekicks who would help out. She could do anything, realistically—especially with her control.
"Are the four of you familiar with the Turbo Hero, Ingenium?" Iida asks, which makes Midoriya sit forward in excitement, a smile on his face.
His freckled cheeks are dusted with blush, most likely from the mention of the hero. Another reason could've been because he'd bumped her arm slightly as he moved forward, displaying their closeness. "I know all about him! He's a super—popular pro with 65 sidekicks working alongside him at his Tokyo agency!" Midoriya explains, before sitting back, a shocked expression etched onto his face. "Don't tell me..."
"He's my elder brother!" Iida says, which makes Midoriya and Uraraka smile.
"Your family's famous!" Uraraka exclaims, as Iida smiles. Sereia picks at her food, looking over at Yaoyorozu—the conversation obviously didn't go where it was supposed to. No discussions between Midoriya and Yaoyorozu about who else would be the officers—in all honesty, maybe that was for the better, if Midoriya got flustered every time it was mentioned.
Midoriya nods his head at Iida's words. "I can't believe it!"
"Ingenium is an unmatched commander who honors the hero code. As the second oldest Iida son, I strive to be just like him," Iida says, before looking over at Sereia. "Vaida! Is that how you feel about your sister? Ingenium has worked with your sister before." Sereia looks up at Iida, nodding her head, before he sighs and sits back down. Weird. But whatever. "However, I think it might be a bit soon for me to be in a real leadership role. You, for example. You figured out what the judges were looking for in the practical exam. A rep needs that sort of insight."
Iida smiles at his own words, which shocks Uraraka and Midoriya. "That's the first time I've seen you smile, Tenya!" Uraraka says, which makes the boy turn to look at her. "You should do it more."
He tilts his head at her words, obviously confused at them. "What're you talking about? I smile all the time!" Iida replies, and Midoriya smiles at his words. Whatever happened during the practical exam, it had made Iida look up to Midoriya—considering Sereia didn't take it, she felt as though she were out of the loop. Yaoyorozu most likely felt the same way, angling her head slightly.
"Hey, yeah, so about that practical exam—" Midoriya begins, before the school bell rings. The bell sounds more like an alarm, considering how randomly it went off, making Sereia, and the other students gasp. Midoriya moves slightly, grazing her arm with his hand. "What is that?"
Though, his question is answered quickly, by a voice—most likely an announcement. "Warning. Level Three security breach."
"No way!" One of the students close to Yaoyorozu says, and Sereia guesses the boy is an upperclassmen, as she hadn't seen him during school.
"All students please evacuate to be building in an orderly fashion." The voice continues, which makes Iida look over to the same boy, who just stares at the ceiling. Kids were starting to get up, running to evacuate the building.
The boy turns to look over at Iida, having to move his body slightly, with Yaoyorozu closest to him. "What's a "Level Three" security breach?" Iida asks.
"It means that someone's managed to get past the school barriers!" The boy explains quickly, not leaving any room for Iida to say anything. "This hasn't happened in my three years here. We should get going!"
At the last sentence, the boy gets up, running towards the exit, meanwhile she tries to stay with her classmates. Yaoyorozu is close Uraraka, who cries out, "Ow. This is a total mob!" as she's pushed around. Yaoyorozu nods, looking over at Sereia, who's next to Midoriya.
"Everyone was quick to react. As I'd expect from U.A. students." Iida says, which Sereia rolls her eyes out, resisting a groan. Did he not see the mess it made? With all of the students pushing one another, trying to exit the quickest?
"Maybe, but they're causing hysteria amongst everyone! Someone's going to get trampled!" Sereia exclaims, just as Midoriya says, "Sure. But they're also causing a huge panic."
That's before he's pushed back, and Sereia can feel elbows hitting into her. "Crap! I can't stop!" He cries out, and Sereia hits someone with her elbow, looking for the boy. Iida and Uraraka yell out something to the boy, who's being pushed further back. Yaoyorozu calls out for Sereia, whose stomach must be sporting lots of bruises.
Her eyes find him, and she reaches her hand out, hoping that she'll be with someone she knows. That shes not pushed to the ground by fellow students, trying their best to escape. Midoriya notices her hand, grabbing onto it, and she pushes herself towards him. "This is insane!" Sereia yells, hoping that he'll hear her over the other panicking students. "What do you think's causing it?"
"I don't know! Maybe it's an attack on the school?" Midoriya answers, and she's glad he can hear her—and that she can hear him. "Where are the teachers?"
Somewhere else, Sereia can hear Kirishima yell, "Everyone! Stop freakin' out!" Beside him is Kaminari, and both boys have their hands up, trying to stop the current from pushing them down.
The panic continues on for a few minutes—Midoriya is next to her, as the two hold onto the other, trying to stay together. Trying to move with the current so they're not trampled, leaving the other behind. Her eyes travel, trying to find any of her other classmates—Uraraka is in front of them, Yaoyorozu next to her, meanwhile Kirishima and Kaminari were somewhere else. Most likely taken by the current, pushing them away.
That's when Sereia catches sight of someone floating—Iida, who obviously had help from Uraraka to make him fly above everyone else. He yells, "Engine Boost, go!" Before he's speeding forward, due to his Quirk. Midoriya looks up at the boy, shock written over his feautures. He's being pushed by the crowd, and so is Sereia, though they're still holding hands.
"What are you doing?" Midoriya calls out, right before Iida hits above the Emergency Exit doors—it's a crash landing, with his face pushed against the wall, his arms still up in the air as he stays in the same position.
Sereia sees Iida grab a blue pipe, turning his head towards the panicking students. "Listen up, everything is okay!" Iida yells, which gathers the students attention, making them stop pushing everyone around. Instead, they stop and gasp, looking up at the blue haired boy. His legs are shaking—either with fear, or something else, but it doesn't matter. He's already begun to make an impact. "It's just the media outside. There's absolutely nothing to worry about. Everything's fine! We're U.A. students. We need to remain calm and prove that we're the best of the best."
Students move away from the two, and everyone sighs in relief. Someone remarks about how the police had arrived, ready to take the media away. Her hand is still holding Midoriya's, though Sereia isn't sure of whether or not she should pull her hand out of the grip—it's loosened slightly, but still tight enough to pull her back.
Sereia's eyes find Midoriya's, who smiles in relief, looking up at Iida. "What are you thinking about?" She asks, which surprises him slightly, pulling his hand out of her grip. It's not to be rude—he just pushes his hands in front of him, trying to explain himself. "Are you—"
"I'm good! I was just thinking about how someone else may be better suited for my role." Midoriya answers, not giving her any other information.
She nods at his words—it's all there's left to do, really, when the students file back into their seats as the police arrive. Yaoyorozu and Midoriya don't talk about the other officers, which was fine—everyone at the table was more interested in what had just happened. Everyone seemed fine, with no injuries—besides faint bruises from the students shoving and pushing one another, but that was all.
Sereia doesn't know how happy she is when lunch ends, and the rest of her class files into 1—A. Yaoyorozu and Midoriya walk towards the front, with Aizawa in his sleeping bag, waiting for them to speak.
The class seemed to be more calm, which could be due to Iida's speech. Figuring out that it was the media, and nothing else helped—made everything seem better, in all honesty. That the threat was just some annoying reporters, wanting information about All Might—most likely the same reporters from earlier that morning.
Maybe that weird guy she had seen was there—was trying to grab the teachers, wondering where All Might has gone. How the reporters had caused that much trouble, though, was somewhat insane.
"It's time, class rep. Let's begin." Yaoyorozu says, looking over at a shaking Midoriya. The shorter boy doesn't look over at her, instead staring at the back of the room, hunched over slightly.
He didn't seem to be enjoying the role as class rep—it made sense, with the way Iida had tried reassuring him earlier. "Um, okay, so we need to figure out who the other class officers will be. But first, there's something that I wanna say." Midoriya starts, looking down as he speaks, whereas Yaoyorozu looks over at him in shock. "I've thought a lot about this. And I think that Tenya Iida should be our class rep! He was able to capture everyone's attention and get us in line. So I believe that he should be the one leading our class from now on."
Midoriya's words make Iida gasp, and Kirishima nods at them. "Yeah, you know what?" He asks, which makes Iida look over at the red haired boy. "If Midoriya vouches for him, I'm good. Plus he was a big help. He totally manned up and took charge, right?"
"Yup! Oh! Did you notice he looked like the dude on the emergency exit signs when he was on the wall earlier?" Kaminari says, and Sereia notices Iida and Midoriya sharing a glance, dipping their heads in acknowledgment.
"This is a waste of time." Aizawa speaks up, still in his sleeping bag, which makes Midoriya yelp. "I don't care who the rep is, just hurry up."
Sereia resists the urge to groan at the words—how much did he hate being a teacher? If he didn't want to do something like this, why did he sign up for the job? (Though, it's not her problem—if Aizawa didn't care, that meant more freedom, in a way.)
Iida stands up from his seat, eyes closed as he begins to speak. "If Midoriya is nominating me for this job...then I humbly accept!" He cries out, raising his hand in the air. "I pledge to carry out the duties of class rep to the best of my abilities!"
"Sounds good, Emergency Exit!" Kirishima replies, a smile on his face as he speaks.
Kaminari calls out, "Emergency Exit Iida. Don't let us down, man!" Most of the class is happy with the decision—a few minutes can't change someone's perspective on a person, but Sereia can acknowledge how he was able to take charge of the situation.
Yaoyorozu doesn't look too happy by the situations, her shoulders dropped slightly. "Hello, I got two more votes than him."

THE BREAK IN OF THE SCHOOL SEEMS TO CHANGE THE ATTITUDE OF THE TEACHERS. That's something Sereia can notice, when Aizawa stands behind the podium, looking around at the class. It's been a little bit since lunch, when the students went berserk, so there's a sense of peace over the class.
"Today's training will be a little different. You'll have three instructors. Me, All Might, and another faculty member will be keeping tabs on you." Aizawa explains, which makes the students gasp. There was more likely more teachers due to the break in—incase any other reporters try to grab at the students, wondering about All Might.
Sero moves forward slightly, raising his hand. "Sir! What kind of training is this?" He asks, and Aizawa pulls out a card, which has the word, 'Rescue' written on it in blue letters.
"Rescue." Aizawa answers, holding up the card as he speaks. Half of his face is hidden in his scarf, so Sereia can't tell how he feels about the training—or anything else, for that matter. "You'll be dealing with natural disasters, shipwrecks, stuff like that."
Sereia looks around, just as Kaminari says, "Disasters, huh?" He looks over at Ashido, who has a smile on her face. "Sounds like we're in for a big workout."
"Totally!" Ashido answers, turning to look over at Kaminari, a smile on her face. Her arms are up in the air, displaying her excitement.
Kirishima leans forward, looking at Kaminari. "Real hero stuff. This is what separates the boys from the men. I'm shakin' with excitement."
Sereia can hear Iida go on about something else, though she focuses on the other conversations around her—how Todoroki and Yaoyorozu were quiet, but others were bursting with excitement.
"Finally, I'll get to show off how good I am in water. Ribbit." Tsu says, which makes Kirishima look over at her, the same smile still on her face—being at a prestigious hero school can do those things. Considerably, this is real hero stuff—something that they could do once they graduate.
"Guys, I'm not finished yet." Aizawa states, drawing the students attention back to him. "What you wear in this exercise is up to you. I know you're excited about costumes..." He lifts his hand, clicking a button, which makes the cases of their hero students exit from the wall. "But keep in mind that you haven't gotten used to them yet, and they might limit your abilities. This special training's at an off—campus facility, so we'll be taking a bus to get there. That's all. Start getting ready."
Sereia can't express how happy she is to wear the costume again—though, she's gonna have to take the bandages off, to expose her cut up hands. Her hands still hurt, and the bandages are bloody, so she throws them out. Though, her hands aren't still bleeding, and the burn on her arm isn't the best, but it's fine. The rest of her costume is easy to slip on, with no other injuries on herself.
Standing outside with Yaoyorozu, her eyes trail upon others—how Mineta was (creepily) trying to look up her skirt—belt, how Todoroki kept to himself, and how Iida was seemingly ready to be the class rep. "What happened to your hands?" Yaoyorozu asks, looking at them. Sereia just stares at her slightly, and the girl taps her hands. "You had bandages on earlier. Are your hands okay?"
"Oh," Sereia starts, looking down at the gloved hands—there was no blood on them, which was a good thing. "No, they're fine. I had bandages on because I accidentally broke a glass this morning. I'm alright. Don't worry."
Yaoyorozu sighs, before nodding as the two walk over towards to the front of the bus. "Deku? why are you wearing your PE clothes?" Uraraka asks, which makes Sereia look over at the two—Midoriya was in his gym clothes, with some extra pieces from his costume. Meanwhile, everyone else was in their costumes. "Where's your costume at?"
Maybe his costume was too destroyed by Bakugo—it looked that way, especially with his broken arm, and the way it was ripped up. "You saw it after the combat training. It was kinda trashed. I'm still waiting on the support company to fix it up."
Upon noticing Mineta staring at Uraraka, Yaoyorozu places a hand over her mouth, obviously in disgust. Sereia glares down at him. "Can you stop being such a pervert?" She asks.
The blow of a whistle cuts her thoughts off, and Sereia looks up to see Iida, holding onto a whistle. "Gather round, Class 1—A! Using your student numbers, form two neat lines so we can load the buss efficiently." He raises his hand, continuing to blow the whistle.
"Iida's kicking it into high gear as our class rep, huh?" Midoriya asks, before the students quickly begin to load into the bus—Sereia sits next to Yaoyorozu and Uraraka, meanwhile Midoriya sits next to Tsu and Sato.
Iida's hunched over, obviously upset at how is ordering didn't work—the students couldn't be put in lines, as the bus was more open. "The bus's open layout ruined my boarding strategy."
Ashido looks over at him, maybe feeling bad for him. "Iida, you really need to chill."
"If we're pointing out the obvious, then there's something I wanna say..." Tsu starts, before looking over at Midoriya, who's smiling happily. "about you, actually."
Midoriya looks shocked at her words, jumping back slightly. "About me? What is it, Asui?" He asks, looking down at her.
"I told you to call me "Tsu."" She answers, and Midoriya blushes with embarrassment, most likely, moving backwards slightly.
Sereia looks over at Yaoyorozu, who isn't too interested in the conversation, but is obviously paying atttention. So is Uraraka, who watches the interaction as well. "Oh, yeah. Right."
"That pier of yours. Isn't it a lot like All Might?" Tsu asks, and Midoriya seems overly shocked at the words—as though he's never considered it, moving backwards slightly, and most of the students on the bus just watch the situation, not knowing what to say.
Sereia stretches her arms forward, sighing softly. "What? Really? You think so, huh? I never really thought about that. I guess it's kinda similar..." Midoriya starts, only to be cut off by Kirishima, though he doesn't look too upset—more relieved, actually.
"Wait, hold on, Tsu." Kirishima starts, which makes Tsu look over at him. "You're forgetting All Might doesn't hurt himself. That makes a huge difference." Midoriya sighs, and Sereia guesses it's one of relief, but Kirishima leans backwards slightly, continuing to speak. "Still, I bet it's cool to have a simple augmenting—type of Quirk. You can do lots of flashy stuff with it. My Hardening's super strong and can destroy bad guys in a fight, but it doesn't look that impressive."
Midoriya moves forwards slightly, looking over at Kirishima. "Oh, no way, I think it's really awesome looking. You're definitely pro material with a Quirk like that."
"You really think so?" Kirishima asks, his arm up in the air as he speaks, his Quirk in effect. "Seems like it'd be easier to be a popular hero if I had something flashier."
Aoyama has his hands in his face as he speaks, hunched over slightly. "My Navel Laser's got the perfect combination of panache and strength." He says, but Ashido smiles and places a hand on his shoulder.
"But it's way lame if it gives you a stomach ache, sweetie." Ashido answers, which make Aoyama glare at her, though he doesn't remove her hand from his shoulder.
Kirishima looks over towards the other side of the bus, a smile on his face. "Well, if any of our classmates have pro Quirks, it's Todoroki, Vaida, and Bakugo." At his words, Bakugo looks up slightly, though he doesn't say anything.
"Sure, but Bakugo's always angry, so he'll never be that popular." Tsu states bluntly, and the words shock both Midoriya and Bakugo, though no one else seems to care, just sitting back and listening to the conversation.
Bakugo scoffs, moving forwards from his seat. "What'd you say? I'll kick your ass!" He screams, and Jiro has to move out of the way so he doesn't hit her. She looks almost...disgusted with him, and Sereia wouldn't be surprised if he was.
"You see?" Tsu points out, a smile on her face as she speaks.
Kaminari leans his head to the side slightly, a sly smile on his own face. "You know, we basically just met you. So it's kind of telling that we all know your personality is flaming crap mixed with garbage."
"You're gonna regret the day you applied to this school, you loser! I'll kill you!" Bakugo yells out, glaring at Kaminari, who doesn't seem to care all that much. Everyone else just sits back at the boy's words, though Midoriya seems distressed by it, with his hands in his hair as he looks down.
"Wait, what did you say?" Kaminari asks, though there's no care in his voice.
Yaoyorozu places a hand over her mouth, watching the interaction take place. "This is such a disgusting conversation." She mutters, and she sounds...posh, in the moment. In the nicest way possible.
Uraraka shrugs her shoulders, smiling over at the two. "Yeah, but it's kind of fun listening to them fight."
"I'll say. Bakugo needs to control his temper," Sereia starts, which makes Bakugo look over at her with a glare, before back at Kaminari. Surprisingly, he's backed off—not yelling at her because of the comment she made.
"Like hell I will." Bakugo mutters in response to Kaminari, though Sereia doesn't hear what he has to say—she's more focused on the slowing of the bus, and how the student's glances change from Bakugo to Aizawa.
The older man is holding onto one of the poles, looking back at his class. "Hey, hey, we're here. Stop messing around." Aizawa orders, to which the class nods, all repeating the same words.
"Whatever." Bakugo mutters, sitting back down in his seat, finally calming down to some extent, as the bus nears the building. The building is a half circle, with a short person standing in front of it.
Sereia can't see their face, though she knows the hero is Thirteen—a rescue hero, whose Quirk can turn matter into dust. "Hello, everyone, I've been waiting for you!" The hero says as soon as the students exit the bus, making them gasp in excitement.
"Woo—hoo!" Uraraka exclaims, a smile on her face, meanwhile Midoriya covers his face in shock. "Thirteen is one of my favorite heroes!"
Thirteen stands multiple feet in front of them, and she moves her hand towards the building. "I can't wait to show you what's inside!" Thirteen announces, making the students gasp and smile.
The walk inside the building only takes a few minutes, though it's worth it—the inside is huge, which different landscapes for different types of disasters. "Holy crap! It looks like some kind of amusement park!" Kirishima calls out, before Thirteen points out the different areas.
"A shipwreck. A landslide. A fire. A windstorm. Et cetera. I created this training facility to prepare you to deal with different types of disasters. I call it the Unforeseen Simulation Joint. But, you can call it the USJ!" Thirteen announces, a hand pointed forwards, at the students.
Aizawa walks forward, standing next to Thirteen. "Hey, shouldn't All Might be here already? Let me guess, he booked an interview instead." The man says, poking fun at All Might—whatever his annoyance was with the hero, Sereia didn't really care.
"Actually, it's something else," Thirteen starts, moving forwards, and Aizawa leans forward as Thirteen holds up three fingers. "Apparently he did too much hero work on the way to school this morning and used up all his power. He's resting in the teachers lounge."
For some reason, Sereia feels...less safe in the building. The itch is back again, and she wills herself not to scratch anywhere. She hadn't checked out the burn mark yet—and she isn't interested in doing that, either. Aizawa and Thirteen are good heroes, sure. But All Might is...All Might.
(The fear that something may happen rises within her. The dream of the girl similar to her, a hand wrapped around her throat—the body of water, ready for her to drown in it.)
"That man is the height of irresponsibility." Aizawa remarks, which makes Midoriya lean forward—most likely annoyed at the way Aizawa was speaking about the hero. He looks back towards his class, before slightly hiding his face in his capture weapon. He turns towards his class fully, then. "The clock's ticking. We should get started."
Aizawa walks towards one pillars, leaning against it. Meanwhile, Thirteen spreads her hands. "Excellent. Before we begin, let me just say one thing. Well, maybe two things. Possibly three, four, or five." The woman speaks, and Sereia presses a hand to her temple, before waiting for the woman to continue. "Listen carefully. I'm sure you're aware that I have a powerful Quirk. It's called Black Hole. I can use it to suck up anything and turn it into dust."
Uraraka nods her head excitedly at Thirteen's words. "Yeah, you've used Black Hole to save people from all kinds of disasters before, haven't you?" Midoriya asks, and Thirteen nods her head slightly.
"That's true, but my Quirk could also very easily be used to kill." Thirteen states, which makes the class quiet down—some elicit soft gasps, but the area stays quiet. "Some of you also have powers that can be dangerous. In our superhuman society, all Quirks are certified and stringently regulated, so we often overlook how unsafe they can actually be. Please don't forget that if you lose focus or make the wrong move, your powers can be deadly. Even if you're trying to do something virtuous like rescue someone. Thanks to Aizawa's fitness tests, you have a solid idea of your Quirk's potential. And because of All Might's combat training, you likely experienced how dangerous your powers can be when used against other people. Carry those lessons over to this class. Today, you're going to learn how to use your Quirks to save people's lives. You won't be using your powers to attack enemies or each other, only to help. After all, that's what being a hero is all about. Ensuring the safety of others. That's all I have to say. Thank you so much for listening."
Sereia can't really argue with that—though, some heroes don't just save people. They go beyond, of course. Like All Might, and her sister. A level that people can only think about reaching, where they stand, ready to help out others. The idea that Quirks could be deadly wasn't a surprising one—any of the elements could be used to end someone's life, and Sereia could say the same about anyone else's Quirks. Bakugo could explode someone, or Uraraka could float someone into the sky on purpose.
The students start to cheer, waving their hands in the air with smiles on their faces—there seemed to be some kind of determination, as they wanted to prove that they could save people. Every day, they had done something that would help them in the future. Learning their potential, combat training, and now, rescuing people in natural disasters. A little bit of everything, so that when they became heroes, they had the experience.
Aizawa breaks the chatter up, moving forwards slightly. "Right. Now that that's over..." He starts, before pointing to the middle of the building. Electricity crackles, making the lights go out, and the students gasp at the sound. The fountain stops working, before a purple mist appears in the center. Aizawa grunts softly, noticing the sound, and he turns around, his eyes narrowing. "Stay together and don't move! Thirteen, protect the students!"
"Whoa, what is that thing?" Kirishima asks, and Sereia presses a hand over her mouth, not knowing what to do. Kirishima places a hand over his eyes, trying to get a better look at whatever was in front of them. "Wait, has the training started already? I thought we were rescuing people."
Sereia takes a short step forwards, barely noticing, and Midoriya does the same thing too—most likely trying to see whatever was happening better. "Stay back!" Aizawa orders, pulling his goggles over his eyes, and Midoriya gasps at the sight. "This is real. Those are villains."
"The only real heroes I see are Thirteen and Eraser Head." A voice states, deep and cold—a man holds his hand out towards the monster next to him, hands covering his body. "Perplexing. According to the schedule we retrieved from U.A., All Might should be here as well."
Aizawa leans forward slightly, standing in front of the class. "So you scumbags used the press as a cover and sneaked onto campus." He accuses, though they all know the answer to that—the villains standing in front of them, ready to attack, had broke into the school.
"Where is he?" Another voice asks, and Sereia guesses that it's the man with hands all over his body—one even on his face. "I went through the trouble of bringing so many friends who're eager to meet him. They want All Might. The great Symbol of Peace. I can't believe he's not here. Maybe if I kill a few kids, he'll come out to play."
Sereia's eyes fall upon Aizawa, whose scarf flies into the air, along with his hair. Thirteen stands in front of the students, a hand in front, ready to protect them. These villains were attacking the school—walking towards the students, ready to hurt them, just so they could get the attention of All Might.
(A girl that looks like her, with a hand around her throat. A feeling of something surreal, as though it's happened before. She has to live—she can't die because of villains attacking the school. Keep going. Go behind. Plus Ultra.)
"What? Real villains? No way." Kirishima states, standing next to Uraraka, looking down at the villains in front of them. "How could so many of 'em get into a U.A. facility this secure?"
Yaoyorozu walks forward, nodding her head as she stands between Sereia and Iida. "Yeah, Thirteen, why aren't the alarms going off?" The girl asks, looking over at the teacher, and Iida turns his head towards the pro.
Thirteen moves her own head, looking up at the lights. "Good question. I'm not sure." She says, making Yaoyorozu and Iida gasp, meanwhile Sereia just presses a hand to her mouth once more.
"Is the entire campus under attack? Or is this their only target?" Todoroki asks, looking down at the villains in front of the class. "Either way, if the alarm sensors aren't being triggered, then one of these villains must have a Quirk that's masking their presence here. They carefully chose this isolated facility as an entry point at a time when a class was being taught. They're fools for trespassing here, but they've thought this out."
They want All Might—that's why the villains are standing in front of them. "They picked a point when All Might was teaching as well. They've already revealed their goals," Sereia starts, removing the hand from her mouth. "They've planned this out. They must've used one of the Quirks to sneak in here, along with isolate the facility even further. We're cut off from any kind of help."
Todoroki nods at her words. "Whatever their plan is, they must have a concrete objective in mind. But what is it?"
Surrounding students gasp at Todoroki's words, and Sereia just watches the villains in front of her—Aizawa and Thirteen are good heroes, but All Might is on another level. If he were here, then he'd be able to defeat them all—just like he's done on many other occasions.
Aizawa walks forwards, standing beside Thirteen, and then in front of the class. "Thirteen, get them out of here. And alert the main campus." Aizawa orders, looking down at the villains. "Actually, if they've got the ability to block our sensors, then they might be jamming our regular communications, too. Kaminari, try using your Quirk to contact the school."
Kaminari looks shocked at the words, before pressing a hand to the earphone on his right side. "Yes, sir." He answers with a slight nod.
"What're you gonna do? You can't fight them on your own! There's too many of 'em." Midoriya states, voicing Sereia's own grievances—Aizawa is strong, but he's not All Might. "Even if you can nullify their Quirks, your fighting style's not suited for this. Your power works best in stealth and one—on—one fights. That's not gonna be useful with a group."
The man turns his head towards the students slightly, still hidden in his capture weapon. "You can't be a pro if you only have one trick." Aizawa answers simply, making Midoriya gasp, before he gets ready to jump. "I'll leave it to you, Thirteen."
Thirteen nods at his words, before Aizawa jumps. Sereia can hear the villains make comments about him. How Aizawa quickly grabs three of them with his capture weapon, holding them in the air, and then slamming them against one another.
One of the villains—one with a heteromorphic Quirk—tried to pounce on Aizawa, who just dodges and punches him in the face. It lands the villain on the air, to which Aizawa throws his scarf around his leg, dodging a hit, and throwing the villain.
Her eyes fall upon the man—somewhat in awe, as he manages to fight off multiple opponents at once. Midoriya stands beside her, his eyes also fixated on the scene in front of them. She's behind him, closer to the class, who was running away at that point. Where she should be, as she takes a hesitant step backwards.
"Whoa," Midoriya starts, watching Aizawa fight. "He's holding them off. I guess I shouldn't have underestimated him."
Iida stops for a moment, and Sereia notices that she's in the same position she as a moment ago. "You two! This is no time to be analyzing. We have to go!" Iida states, and the two nod, running towards the blue haired boy. They're a little bit behind their class, though that doesn't matter—not when a blue mist falls before them, blocking their escape.
Thirteen gasps, just before the mist hisses out, "There is no escape for you." The reason he was able to cut off their escape route was most likely due to Aizawa blinking—maybe Iida could just run around him and escape. Get them help. "It's a pleasure to meet you. We are the League of Villains. I know it's impolite, but we decided to invite ourselves in to this haven of justice to say hello. And besides, isn't this fitting for All Might, the Symbol of Peace, to take his last breath? I believe he was supposed to be here today, and yet I see no sign of him. There must've been some sort of change in plans we could not have foreseen. Ah, well, I suppose it doesn't matter. I still have a role to play."
The dark purple mist spreads, and Thirteen prepares herself to use her Quirk, though she's not able to—the sounds of Kirishima and Bakugo yelling startles her. The two jump forwards, trying to land a hit on the mist. Bakugo uses his explosion, and Sereia covers her eyes for a moment, before removing her arm.
"Did ya think we were just gonna stand around and let you tear this place to shreds?" Kirishima mocks, and Sereia notices how fearless the two look, standing in front of the villain. Besides her, Midoriya gasps, probably noticing the same thing as her.
The smoke clears slightly, but it's telling enough when a voice speaks—the attack wasn't enough. "You live up to your school's reputation. But you should be more careful, children. Otherwise, someone might get hurt." The yellow eyes of the mist narrow slightly, as if it were glaring at the students.
"You two, get out of the way right now!" Thirteen orders, though she isn't fast enough.
Kirishima and Bakugo stand in front do her, too slow to move out of the way. "I'll scatter you across this facility to meet my comrades, and your deaths!" The mist calls out, before it covers the entire class in its mist.
"Crap. What is this?" Kirishima calls out, and Sereia holds a hand over her eyes, feeling the way the mist wraps around her. If she's supposed to die, it's not supposed to be this way—but she doesn't know the capabilities of the Quirk. There's a sense of fear that courses through her, and it's only seconds later before she's no longer standing at the entrance of the USJ.
❝ 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒔 𝒖𝒏𝒕𝒊𝒍 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒓𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒔 𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝒓𝒖𝒏 𝒅𝒓𝒚 . ❞
THERE'S BEEN TIMES WHERE SEREIA VAIDA FEELS AS THOUGH SHE IS FLOATING. As if nothing else matters, where she can lose herself—to break apart into many pieces, no need to become whole in that moment. These times, she feels as though she can fly—away from everything, she can truly be herself.
It's almost a comforting feeling when the purple mist wraps around her, pulling her into her own mind. Dropping her in water, where she can't float—only drown, from what she sees. Water is easy—she pulls it towards her, clearing up her eyes, as she swims upwards. Is she outside the facility? If so, can't she just run and get help?
The water pushes her upwards, though the sight of two people catches her—makes her move before she can think, as she pushes a villain away with her legs, kicking them down. In front of her is Midoriya, who seems shocked—maybe from the villain, or her. Nonetheless, she grabs him and swims upwards.
He's too shocked to do much of anything right now—and not that she blames him, considering they were being attacked by real villains. On their third day of school, and they were preparing for the real world of being heroes.
Sereia's eyes fall upon a small boat in front of them, and she picks Midoriya up with the water, hoping he lands softly. Seconds later, she pushes herself upwards, landing on the boat next to the green haired boy.
"You saved my life, Vaida. That was amazing," Midoriya says, and Sereia just shrugs her shoulders. She's about to say something, though before she can, Mineta is dropped onto the floor of the boat, hardly. She resists the urge to groan—he hadn't spoken to her recently, though he was looking her up and down from his place on the ground. Ew. "Whoa, Asui!"
Tsu climbs the side of the boat, looking up at the two. "I told you to call me "Tsu."" She answers, before climbing onto the boat and standing next to Sereia. "What you did was really cool, Vaida."
Sereia's lips curl into a smile as she looks down at the shorter girl. "Thank you," She answers, before crossing her arms over her chest, looking around. The different areas are too far apart for her to see anyone else—though she hopes everyone is still in the USJ, just like her. Most likely, they all were. "This is unexpected. I'm just glad that we're still at the USJ."
The green haired girl nods at Sereia's words. "This is turning out to be a terrible day of class." Tsu agrees, watching as Mineta stands up and looks up at the three.
"Yeah, I keep thinking about what that villain said," Midoriya starts, and Sereia almost knows what he's talking about. She has a guess—when the villain mentioned All Might. It's only the third day, though she has noticed how All Might was acting during the mock battles—happy that the boy had won. Which was normal, but it seemed different. As though they knew each other. "They knew our whole schedule and who would be here. They must've snuck into school files while we were all stuck in the cafeteria. The teachers were busy trying to get the media off school grounds. That means they've been waiting for the perfect time to attack. Just like Todoroki say they were."
Sereia nods her head, uncrossing her arms and letting them hang by her sides. "They had been waiting to attack All Might. That's why they are here. They're here to kill him, from what they've said. The decision they've made wasn't smart, but it's a carefully constructed plan."
"Hey, hold on a second." Mineta interrupts, and he's whining—moving his arms up and down, an unhappy expression taking over his face. "It's not like these guys can really kill All Might. Once he shows up, he'll pound these villains until there's nothing left!"
Tsu moves her arm slightly. "Think about it, though." She replies, looking amongst the three around her. "If the villains spent so much time planning this attack, then they probably figured out a way to kill him. And didn't you hear what that smoke guy said? Maybe we should worry more about not getting tortured to death. Otherwise, we might not survive long enough to see All Might again. And even if he does show up, who knows if he'll make it out in one piece."
Mineta looks to be on the border of tears as Tsu speaks, looking up at Midoriya. "No, the pro's are gonna save us right? Tell frog boobs to shut up!" He cries, before pointing at Sereia. "You too!"
"Ribbit!"
Sereia's glad he isn't making an inappropriate comment about her, but she just glares back at him. "You bastards!" A voice yells out, and she turns around, looking at the water, where multiple villains surround the group. "I'll enjoy eating you."
"Bad guys!" Mineta screams, and Sereia turns to Midoriya—he's the only one who looks calm at the moment, though she knows he's most likely freaking out internally.
To some extent, she is as well—there's a chance that she could die, that her entire class could die. With only two teachers, it was going to be hard to defend, especially without All Might. Her eyes follow Midoriya, and she rubs her arm where her burn mark is. He seems to think internally for a few moments, before slamming his hand down.
The sound of his voice makes Tsu and Mineta look at the two of them. "If they can beat him, then we have to stop whatever it is these bad guys are planning. We have to work together to keep All Might safe. No one at U.A. knows what's happening." Midoriya says, before peering upwards, a determined look on his face. "This is up to us. Let's be heroes."
"It seems to be the only plausible choice," Sereia begins, and Midoriya looks over at her, dipping his head slightly. "We have to figure out a plan. We're trapped right now, so if we—"
"Uh, what do you mean "fight"? Are you crazy?" Mineta interrupts, grabbing onto the skirt of her costume, and Sereia pushes him away with the air around her. "These guys might be able to kill All Might, and you think we can take them on? Did you hit your head as when we got warped here? The best plan is for us to just wait for a real pro from U.A. to come and save us!"
And they can't do that—if they were to wait, there's an even bigger chance they'll get hurt. They're at an isolated facility, with no contact to the rest of the school—unless someone breaks out, no heroes will know what happened. The plan created by the villains was carefully thought out—there's no way any hero would stumble upon the facility, and think that a hero class was getting attacked.
Midoriya looks at her, and then back at the water, where the rest of the villains are. "Think about it. Those villains down there clearly have an advantage in the water, and assume that's where we'll fight." He states, and Sereia almost states that technically, they don't—with the right timing, she could just freeze all of the villains.
She can't, though, because she's cut off by Mineta crying out, "Are you even listening?" In some way, she's hearing what he's saying—but she doesn't care enough to reason with him. To tell him that his words could work. If they don't act soon, there's a chance that they could die.
"If that's the case, they must've know what was inside the USJ before they warped in." Tsu says, looking up at Sereia, before her eyes fall upon Midoriya. Sereia nods at her words, shrugging back her shoulders as she listens to Midoriya's response.
"That's probably what they got when they broke in earlier today," Sereia starts, and the two look up at her. Meanwhile, Mineta continues to cry, but she doesn't care enough about that. It's not her fault, or her problem. "They figured out the best possible places for their colleagues, and placed them there—though, I'm guessing ours was more random."
Midoriya places his hand on the side of the boat, nodding his head. "Yeah. But for a group with such careful planning, there's one thing that really sticks out to me, something that just doesn't add up. They sent you two here, Vaida, Asui—" Midoriya stops himself, gasping slightly, as Tsu ribbits. "Um—Whoops, I meant Tsu! Yeah, they warped you two here, to the shipwrecked zone."
"That kind of fell apart on you, didn't it?" Tsu asks, turning her body towards Midoriya, who just sighs a breath of relief. He drops his shoulders, muttering out a quiet, "A little bit,", before straightens his posture.
"But why does it matter that the two of hem are here?" Mineta calls out, and Sereia resists the urge to move away upon seeing the snot from his nose. She does, moving closer to Midoriya, who also looks at Mineta.
The green haired boy nods his head. "Yeah, okay, right. It means that the villains probably have no idea what our Quirks are."
"Meaning they didn't get those files from the school. They probably didn't know which class, either. So they've kind of screwed up here." Sereia says, putting some of the pieces together, making Tsu and Midoriya nod. "Maybe their carefully constructed plan wasn't so perfect after all."
Tsu nods at her words. "Uh, ribbit. You've got a point. If they knew I was a frog, they would've sent me into that fire zone over there, instead of somewhere full of water."
"They probably separated us because they didn't know what we could do, and planned to overpower us once we were in smaller groups. Easier to pick us off one by one. We can use that to our advantage. They don't know what our Quirks are. So, for all they know, the three of us could be super powerful." Midoriya states, looking at the villains, who stay in the water, not making a move. "Look, none of them are trying to climb into the boat. That proves they're a little unsure. But that means they're not going to underestimate us, either. They're being smart and playing it safe. For now."
The villains don't move out of the water—they're at a standstill, waiting for something, most likely. Maybe for the students to make a move, or for the right opening. "So, let's talk Quirks." Tsu starts, and Sereia turns towards the shorter girl. "I'll go first if you want. Obviously, I can jump high and cling to pretty much any wall. And, of course, there's my tongue. I can stick it out about 20 meters. Oh yeah, and I can spit out my stomach so I can clean it. That's not really useful. Finally, I also secrete a toxic mucus. It just stings a bit. We can probably only use my jumping and tongue here. Forget about the last things."
"I figured you were powerful, but that's crazy." Midoriya says, looking down at his hand, before clenching his fist. "I am strong, but it comes at a price. Once I use my power, I'm pretty much out of commission. It's a double—edged sword until I can control it."
Sereia nods, holding her hand up. "I can control all four elements. Water's my best, then air, then fire, and then earth. I can freeze and heat up water, which can be useful here as well. I don't think the last two will help here, though. If needed, I can use air to help push us, or the villains away."
Midoriya's eyes widen as she speaks. "I didn't know you were that powerful, either. That's insane. Like you said, we can probably use the water and air here." He says, and Sereia guesses he wants to know more about her ability—though, it'll have to wait, as Mineta is next.
"I've got these sticky balls," He starts, pulling one of them from his head and placing it on the side of the boat. "Their strength varies. Depending on how I'm feeling, they might stuck to something a whole day. They grow back as fast as air pull 'em off. But I'll bleed if I use too many. Oh, and they don't stick to me. I just bounce right off 'em."
At Mineta's words, Sereia just...stares. There's nothing else she can do—compliment him on his Quirk? It doesn't even begin to compare to Tsu's or Midoriya's—her eyes just stay on the short boy the entire time, her lip curling into a sneer.
That, of course, sets Mineta off, crying and whimpering. "Don't look at me like that! This is why we should wait for the real heroes! My Quirk is totally unfit for battle and we're gonna die!"
"No, you have an incredible power!" Midoriya tries, though it doesn't do anything to soothe Mineta. "Really! We just have to figure out how to use it!"
Though, they're not able to, as a blue hand made out of water slices the ship in half. Sereia grabs Midoriya, making sure he doesn't fall off, and Tsu grabs onto the side of the ship as well. Mineta is somewhere, and she notices he's by Tsu. "I'm starting to get bored. Let's get this show on the road."
"That's a great power," Tsu starts, and Sereia glares at the girl—the fear of drowning was really starting to take over, filling her stomach with knots and making her hands shake. The cuts hurt more, and the burn blazes her skin even further. "Now the ship's sinking."
Mineta starts to cry, getting up and throwing the balls on his head into the water. Midoriya reaches his hand out, a look of shock present on his face. "Mineta, don't freak out!" He tries, placing his hands out in front of him as Mineta continues to cry. "You gotta calm down! They'll guess your Quirk!"
Sereia turns to look over the boat, seeing the fish villain from earlier push away Mineta's power. "What the hell are these things?" He hisses out, and that sets something off—the villains are scared. In their own way. (A deep part of Sereia wants to make them even more scared, because how dare they attack her school? It's not heroic, or anything, but the desire to use her Quirk screams at her, the water right there.) "The boat will be fully submerged in less than a minute. And once they're in the water, they don't stand a chance against us."
Yeah, no. Sereia would be interested in freezing them all, waiting for the police to show up and to see her work. Mineta backs himself against the boat, crying out, "We're fish food!"
"Do you ever shut up?!" Sereia seethes back, a glare finding itself on her face as she looks down at Mineta. She stands up, looking down at the villains in the water, her hand placed on the side of the boat.
Tsu doesn't acknowledge Sereia, turning towards the smaller boy. "So, Mineta, are you really sure the hero thing is right for you?" She asks, only to be quickly interrupted by the boy.
"Shut up! It's weirder not to be scared right now!" Mineta shouts, tears running down his face as he speaks. "We just got outta junior high a little while ago! I didn't think I'd be facing death a few days after starting U.A.! I can't believe I'm gonna die without ever getting to touch Yaoyorozu's boobs!"
"Listen up," A voice starts, and Sereia realizes it to be Midoriya—he's standing against the side of the boat, looking over at the water, where the villains are. The boat is sinking, and Sereia can't do much about that—they were going to have to fight in the water. "We enemy that's certain of their victory is bound to make a mistake. All Might said something along those lines in a TV interview a while back."
Mineta sits against the boat, tears still falling down his face. "What does that mean?" He asks, before he seems to understand—Midoriya wants to fight.
"Now's our chance. We can beat them!" Midoriya insists, turning to look at Tsu and Mineta, who both gasp. Then, he turns to Sereia, eyes full of determination. "I'm going to need your help. Can you manipulate water and air at the same time?"
Sereia nods at the same time one of the villains hisses out, "Poor babies," There's no sympathy to it—they could be responsible for the deaths of four U.A. students, though there's no care. "Sound like they're crying for their mommies up there."
"Hey, now. Don't forget, Shigaraki told us to keep our guards up. We can't judge 'em by how old they are, but by their Quirks. They could do anything." Another villain states, and she's glad for the information—Shigaraki must've been the one with the hands all over his body, leading the entire operation. "Of course, we'll definitely have an advantage in the water, so I'm not exactly worried for us."
Midoriya yells out, placing his foot on the side of the boat. There's a plan—he'll use his Quirk, then she'll push herself towards him, grab Midoriya, and freeze the villains. It's not the hardest plan ever, but it's difficult to watch him jump right into battle. Something she should be doing.
"You can't be serious, what're you—Uh!" Mineta tries, before Midoriya jumps off the boat, not listening to what the boy has to say.
Sereia can't blame him, taking her own position to grab him after he uses his Quirk. "Now die!" Midoriya screams, and Sereia doesn't think he's scared. Maybe somewhere, deep down, he's scared of what could happen, though right now, Sereia doesn't see that.
"Stupid move, kid!"
Midoriya's right hand goes to support his left, and Sereia guesses he's figuring out what the best plan would be—where to concentrate all his power. Something she should be doing—whatever he does first, she needs to see, to understand, before making a move. Plan it out. Analyze—what she has done against Koda and Sato.
Sereia won MVP of the combat training the day before. She knows how to work out situations like this. Midoriya can't get every villain at the same time—they're circled around the boat, every escape path cut off for the students. He can't get those—so she'll have to.
"Take this! Delaware Smash!" Midoriya cries out, flicking his finger, and a whirlpool appears in the middle of the water. Sereia uses the water to push herself upwards, grabbing Midoriya, and watching as the villains move around in the water. "Tsu! Mineta, now!"
The other two students jump upwards, and Tsu wraps her tongue around them, so they're all close to one another. Sereia's arm is around Midoriya's waist, who just holds his broken fingers with his other hand. Soon, Mineta starts using his Quirk—for whatever reason, and the villains start to stick together.
"Take this, you villains!" Mineta screams, throwing his Quirk at them. "You can eat my sticky balls!"
She can't sneer at him in disgust right now—she focuses her energy on making the whirlpool as big as possible, to drag all of the villains in. "If a strong force is applied to a water's surface, the water will be pushed away, and then come rushing right back to the middle!" Midoriya manages, watching as the villains are pushed into the middle of the whirlpool.
Then, they're pushed upwards—Sereia does some of it, one hand out as she sends water towards the villains, freezing them the moment they're in the air. They're not escaping from the grasp—they'll stay like that until the police come, and see what they've done.
"We rounded 'em all up," Tsu starts, looking at the other three students with surprise. With awe. "Not too shabby. You guys are amazing. All of you. I guess we passed the shipwrecked zone."
Sereia...feels amazing. Releasing even a small bit of her abilities made her feel better, even if she was fighting villains. Her head was starting to ache, though she couldn't care less—she was never really able to let go when fighting, so here, being able to, felt different. Maybe a new level of confidence, with the way the air did what she wanted it to do. The way the water sat right beneath her, not moving unless she wanted it to.
(Sure, those villains had some skills—but would they ever measure up to U.A. students? They could die in the USJ, but chances were, it would make them stronger. They wouldn't cower away from fighting, or using their abilities as much as they could—no, they'd embrace it. How stupid of these villains, to give them a release. The dreams of drowning fall beneath her—this is her domain, her element. It will answer to her.)
