"What do you mean nothing happened?" Nikki asks for the millionth time.

I roll my eyes as I lift up the weight. "Nicole nothing happened. That's it."

"You're telling me you just disappeared from the restaurant like nothing? I mean I looked over with Paige and then you're not there and Seth is like talking to the restaurant manager or whatever. Then you didn't show up until like midnight. What happened?"

"Nicole drop it." I breath in between pants as I bring the bar close to my chest.

"Brianna, I'm not going to drop it. If Seth did something to you I will beat his ass. Trust me I'm strong enough to bench him so I can sure as hell beat his-"

"Nicole." I groan putting the weight up. I sit up and look at her who's squatting in front of the gym mirror.

"What?"

"I'm not twelve okay? I can defend myself."

She stops squatting, places the weights down and turns to look at me. "I know but you're my sister and I care about you. I just want to know if he did something to you."

"He didn't."

He just used me to get close to you.

"Then why did you leave so abruptly?"

"I just - I realized I'm not ready for a relationship."

"Brianna, that's bullshit. You were super excited about the date with Seth."

"Okay yeah but then I realized that ehh. I need to focus on my career right now. For example I need to beat my mile record, I need to increase my flexibility and my-"

"Brie."

"What?" I say getting up and grabbing a bottle of water.

"You can't hide the truth from me. I am legit your other half." She wipes sweat from her forehead, puts the bar back on her back and continues squatting.

Suddenly, the door opens and I almost spit my water out. Roman and Seth walk in the door. Of course. What are the odds of other wrestlers coming to the hotels gym?

And it obviously had to be Seth. I mean I don't mind Roman but he has to bring Seth too?

"Good morning ladies." Roman says. I quickly put my bottle down and half smile at him. He turns his attention to Nikki and when I look at Seth he's already looking at her.

My heart gets a weird feeling. Like a pang of some sort but I quickly push it aside. Nikki stops squatting once again to greet Roman and Seth.

"Hey guys." Nikki smiles but once she sees Seth her smile fades. In contrast, his smile widens. "Hey Nicole."

My stomach gets a warm feeling and it's anger for sure. I roll my eyes and walk to the treadmill.

He doesn't even try to hide it.

He does it right in my face.

He greets her but ignores me.

What a heartless idiot.

I tried to tell myself I didn't care but I actually do care. I care a lot. The fact that he used me to get close to my sister makes me sick.

It infuriates me.

I turn to look at Roman and Seth who are currently stretching. I notice their eyes keep wondering back to Nicole.

They look at her with that look that I never get. Nicole and I might look alike but we're certainly not the same.

She's so much better.

Always will be.

I look at my sister and feel a deep hate for a brief second.

"Woah, Brie. Slow down would ya? You might fall."

When Roman points this out I look down at the treadmill and realize it's at full speed. I quickly turn it down and now the three of them are looking at me.

"I just need to increase my speed."

"You're already crazy fast." Roman says with a smile.

"Right. I've told her like a million times. Maybe she will listen to you." Nikki grins nudging him playfully.

"Right. Well uh - I actually gotta go. I told Nattie I'd go shopping with her to this pet store. I might get something for Josie."

"You have a dog?" Roman asks.

I look up confused. The fact that he's speaking to me makes me queasy. Saying hello is one thing but he's asking me questions and talking to me.

Maybe I'm just overacting. Roman is a nice guy and he speaks to everyone not just me.

Roman raises his eyebrows and then I realize I've just been staring at him for a whole minute.

"Yes. I do."

"Cute."

My cheeks redden even though the compliment wasn't directly towards me. I look away and clear my throat.

"Yeah well I'll see you later."

"Wait Brie but we were supposed to finish our workout together."

"Yeah sorry I just forgot the Nattie thing. Sorry. I'll make it up to you." I grab my gym bag and head out of the gym.

By the time I get to the elevator my face has finally cooled down. A tap on my shoulder makes me turn around.

"Brie about the other night-"

"Forget it." I quickly respond to Seth and then turn back around to press the elevator button again.

"Brie I'm really sorry."

The silence that comes afterwards makes my cheeks turn brighter red. This time in anger.

"I'm sorry."

"Do you know the meaning of the word sorry, Seth?" I ask angrily when I face him again.

"Yes. I know what I did was wrong and I'm ashamed I ever did that."

"Did you think playing with my feelings and making me feel like you actually liked me would get you anywhere close to, Nicole? Why didn't you just ask her out in the first place? Why bother to waste your time with me?"

"It's not like that Brie. I - I liked you but -"

"But then Nicole happened."

"I just didn't know what to do. I didn't want to hurt your feelings Brie."

"Well you did."

"I know and I'm so, so, sorry."

The thought of punching him crosses my mind but would it be worth it?

Even if I punch him and hurt him it would only be temporary. What I'm feeling is not temporary.

What I'm feeling is not a physical pain. It's emotional and that's so much harder to mend.

The elevator door opens and I simply turn around and step in. As the door is closing Seth steps up.

"Brie-"

But then it closes. And I'm left alone in the tiny space. I take a few deep breaths when I feel my eyes tearing up.

Not again.
