Lyanna Mikaelson wore a beautiful navy dress. Plain and simple just like how she wanted it to be. In all honesty, she really didn't want to be here. Bonnie wasn't going to be there so what was the point?

A knock on the door brought the Mikaelson out of reality. "Come in."

Niklaus entered the room making her blink in surprise. "Klaus, what are you doing here?"

He looked nervous and refused to stare at his little sister. Which didn't surprise Lyanna as much, for the fact that she threatened to leave along with her siblings?

"I came here because I figure if this whole rivalry were to continue any longer, it will strain the family even more. And I can't stand our siblings having to choose sides again."

Lyanna didn't know what to say.

"I'm sorry, for everything. I should've stuck with Elijah's way of using the elixir for the Sacrifice five hundred years ago. I didn't know that my rash actions would chase you away. I hurt you for centuries, thinking that you deserved it but really it was me that was the problem all along. I think now I realize that Hybrids aren't what I need...I need my family by my side."

The Heretic's face contorted into guilt, "Hey if anything, I was the one who drove the family...I broke the promise of 'always and forever'."

"Because of my paranoia of being alone forever." Nik cuts in. "Which is why, from this day forward, I want to make up for lost time and forgiveness. I already apologized to the others."

He held out his arm and Lyanna walked forward and took his hand. She leaned in and brought him in a hug, surprising the hybrid.

"I forgive you Nik, but it's going to take the others to forgive you as well...especially Finn." Lyanna pulled away and wiped his tears. "Mind escorting me downstairs?"

"Of course,"

From the doorway, Esther watched with sad eyes and guilt. She realized that perhaps maybe turning her children into vampires wasn't such a bad thing. The mother realized that killing her children wasn't the solution. The solution was to mend the broken bond of family.

What they needed was Lyanna.

Sending one last look at her children, she walked away to her room to get rid of what she's planning.

Esther muttered a spell and placed a curse on herself to quicken her life span. By midnight, the woman will no longer be living.

The Mikaelson Ball was running smoothly. Everyone was dancing and conversing with others, enjoying the wonderful night.

Lyanna walked through the crowd and met with the Salvatore brothers and Elena Gilbert.

"You guys came!" Lyanna said in delight.

"We couldn't resist really. I was surprised that Damon got an invitation."

This earned an ignited yell from the black-haired Salvatore.

"And...Klaus apologized for sacrificing me at the alter and for Jenna...." Elena continued, it will take time to heal over the loss. But at least she was happy for what she has now.

"He did?" Lyanna asked shocked. She knew that Klaus would do everything for forgiveness. And to hear that he's apologizing for his past actions was a good start.

"I hope I'm not late to the party?" a familiar voice entered the atmosphere. Katherine Pierce stood wearing a black ball-gown dress.

"Katherine!" Stefan and Damon shielded Elena from the vampire's view.

The Petrova rolled her eyes, "Relax you, daft idiots. I'm only here because of Lyanna and Klaus. Turns out I no longer have to wear out another pair of good heels. I'm officially free."

"That's wonderful." Elena voiced out earning looks of disbelief from the others. In all honesty, she knew that Katherine Pierce wasn't always this deceitful and manipulative. She was a normal girl like her who lost her family.

A tap on the shoulder made Lyanna turn around. "Did you really think I was going to leave you hanging?"

"Bonnie!"

The Bennett witch dressed in a sleek black suit and heels. Her hair slicked back into a bun. She wore a small grin at the sight of her girlfriend's dazed expression.

She placed her hand out and Lyanna gladly took it.

Caroline danced with Klaus.

Rebekah reluctantly accepted Matt Donovan's hand.

Elijah and Katherine

And Stefan danced with Carol Lockwood out of a kind gesture.

And Lyanna just knew that this moment was going to last forever in her heart. Both sides of her family are finally getting along and moving away from the past to the present.

To be honest, I wanted to continue this story more. But I realized that both the Originals and The vampire diaries really deserve a better ending. I figured this would be a good alternating ending for both sides.

I would like to say thank you all for reading this story! I know some of you all wanted to see her in the Originals ( And maybe I will write a sequel ) but it's not at my mind at the moment. Maybe in the future.

I'm a senior that's about to go to college next year. and I had this story for three years and it's time to come to an end.
