❝ FAMILY REUNIONS ❞
︵‿︵‿︵‿︵‿ ⋆ ˖୨♡୧˖⋆ ‿︵‿︵‿︵‿︵
𝓘nside the Mikaelson mansion, Daniel shoved the coffins in a big room. Klaus stood beside him wearing an accomplished look.
"You've got your family back. Finally, You're gonna open them?" Daniel asked his sire.
"Not quite yet, I still have some unfinished business to take care of," Klaus stated.
"What business?"
Suddenly, Daniel is squirming and falls to the ground dead. Elijah stood defiantly with his heart in his hand. Klaus seemed shocked to speak a word.
"Elijah!" the hybrid shouted.
"What did I miss?"
Suddenly, Lyanna came marching in the Mikaelson Mansion and waved her hand, "Incendia!"
Klaus's hand became on fire, the hybrid yelled out and backed away from the Heretic.
The noble Mikaelson turned to Klaus with raised eyebrows, "Seems like I've missed a lot."
︵‿︵‿︵‿︵‿ ⋆ ˖୨♡୧˖⋆ ‿︵‿︵‿︵‿︵
The Heretic finally finished torturing her brother and finally snapped her fingers, vanishing the flames. His clothes were tattered with burn marks and his skin slowly healed.
"How dare you? I thought I warned you before to not touch a hair on Bonnie and my friends. That extends towards her mother as well!"
Klaus let out a huff of frustration, he was about to say something when Elijah fired a punch, making Lyanna let out a shriek of shock. Appalled by her older brother's behavior. In some way, the Heretic let out a chuckle.
"Serves him right," Lyanna muttered, still chuckling at the scene before her. It's been centuries since they've fought like this.
The blond collided through the glass windows that led to a different room. Lyanna walked over to the bar and grabbed the bourbon bottle, popping open the bottle and taking a long swig.
"You know, you have every right to be mad at me. But I kept my word, I reunited you with our family."
"Our family isn't complete, not without Lyanna." Elijah retorted, making Klaus flinch at the cold words. He threw him into the coffin.
Lyanna pulled the bottle away from her lips and whistled.
Klaus opened a coffin that held Kol. He undaggers Kol who is lying inside, rushes at his brother, and holds him against another closed coffin. Hovering above him threateningly with the dagger.
"Don't make me do this to you again Elijah!" Klaus shouted.
"Come on. Use it. I dare you. You'll have Kol to deal with." Elijah rebuked.
Klaus thought for a second before lowering the weapon. "Mikael is dead."
Just like that, he releases his grip.
"What did you say?"
Lyanna sighed and replied once more, "Father's dead....I saw it with my own eyes. Klaus killed him."
She walked away with her bottle of bourbon, leaving the two brothers to themselves. Lyanna didn't want to be more involved than she already is.
︵‿︵‿︵‿︵‿ ⋆ ˖୨♡୧˖⋆ ‿︵‿︵‿︵‿︵
"Explain to me why I'm here?" Lyanna was dressed in a purple dress. Her mother's necklace adorned her neck and wore grey heels.
"Because we are trying to buy time for Bonnie and Abby, remember? And for other things as well." Damon tried to make his best friend understand. His crystal eyes darted to his younger brother. "Right, brother?"
"Why am I here?" Stefan questioned rudely. Lyanna let out a laugh which Stefan responded with a smirk. Glad that his comment at least was funny to the petite woman.
Damon wasn't at all amused by their replies.
The door opens to reveal Elijah standing there. He stepped aside as the trio stood there wearing fake smiles.
"Our guests arrived, hello Lyanna."
"Elijah." Lyanna nodded, resisting the urge to roll her eyes.
Klaus came into view, "Damon, Stefan, little sister, Elijah tells me you seek an audience. Very cold. Let's discuss the terms of our agreement like civilized men and women, shall we?"
The Heretic knew that this was going to be a long night.
︵‿︵‿︵‿︵‿ ⋆ ˖୨♡୧˖⋆ ‿︵‿︵‿︵‿︵
Damon pulled out a chair for her before Elijah and Klaus could do it for her. Causing awkward tension between her brothers and best friend's slash brotherly figures.
"Thanks, Damie."
"You're welcome, Ann."
Lyanna was eating small nibbles of her steak and mash potatoes, Damon just sat there all 'cheery and civilized' while the girls in the room came in and poured their glasses.
"Thank you, love," Damon smirked at the girl. Lyanna's nose crinkled, "Gross."
The green-eyed Salvatore nudged her and let out a smile.
Klaus glances around the table to find Stefan's food untouched, "You lost your appetite." he comments with a scowl. He also glanced at Lyanna and frowned, "Is the food not to your liking?"
"Eat." Damon sends his brother and friend a pointed look, "I thought we agreed that we would leave the grumpy Stefan at home and Lyanna home."
Lyanna took a sip of her wine, "I don't remember agreeing to that."
The younger Salvatore sighed before lifting his fork, finally beginning to eat. However, he still looked broody.
"That's the spirit," Klaus smirked, looking at the trio. "Isn't it nice? The five of us dining together. Such a treat. Is this what you had in mind when you pulled the dagger from my brother?"
"That was you? Nice!" Lyanna chuckled, high-fiving Damon.
Damon rolled his icy eyes before looking at the hybrid. "Well, I know how he felt about you. So I figured the more, the merrier." he winked at Lyanna's direction.
"Well, Elijah and I have had our share of quarrels over the century. But we always made it through." Klaus replied before placing a piece of steak in his mouth.
"Kind of like you and Rebekah right? Oh--and Lyanna's a whole different story."
Lyanna kicked Stefan's foot and he let out a groan. "Shut up, idiot. Don't drag me into this. I only came for moral support."
"If you're referring to the fact that Rebekah and Lyanna know I killed our mother, I've already come clean with Elijah."
Damon peered over at his younger brother, "hey, Stef. Remember when you killed dad? Might want to dial down the judgment until dessert."
The Heretic snorted in her drink and raised her glass to her lips.
"We're here to make a deal, Damon." the broody vampire responded. "Doesn't mean we need to kiss his ass for seven courses."
"Oh dear." Lyanna called for one of the girls, "Refill my glass please." the blonde girl came over with a big bottle of wine. Instead, she grabbed the bottle and shooed her away. "Never mind, the bottle it is then."
︵‿︵‿︵‿︵‿ ⋆ ˖୨♡୧˖⋆ ‿︵‿︵‿︵‿︵
"Stefan" Elijah looked over towards him. "Where is the lovely Elena tonight?"
The brown-haired man scowled, "I don't know, ask Damon."
Klaus falls into a fit of laughter while Lyanna doesn't know what to say. For once she felt out of the loop of the situation. "Wait a minute, what happened?" she questioned.
A faintly confused Elijah looked at his sister, placing his knuckles together.
"I'm sorry, you missed so much. Ah, trouble in paradise." Klaus enlightened, wearing an amused expression.
Lyanna turned her head and stared weirdly into Damon's eyes. The icy eyed vampire raised a brow at her.
Suddenly, Lyanna jolted in her seat and wore a coy smile, "You kissed Elena?!"
"How did you know!" Surprise flashed in Damon's eyes.
"I didn't, it's written on all of your faces."
"One more word about Elena and this dinner's over," Stefan growled, glaring at them.
Klaus only smiled and placed his index finger to his lips as a promise to keep quiet. He was still amused by this whole situation.
Damon sighed and looked at them, "You know what, probably best to keep Elena in the 'do not discuss pile'."
"You're probably right." mischief danced across Klaus' ocean orbs.
"It's just the allure of the Petrova doppelganger, still so strong." Klaus' eyes drifted towards Elijah. "What do you say, brother? Should we tell them about Tatia?"
Elijah frowned and glanced at his sister who rolled her eyes at the mention of the ancient name. "Now why should we discuss matters long since resolved?"
"Well, given their shared affection for both Elena and Katerina, I think our guests might be curious to learn about the originator of the Petrova line." Klaus reasoned a grin spread across his lips.
The story began to unfold about Tatia and Lyanna brought out her phone at the familiar vibrating noise.
"Who is that?"
"My girlfriend. She's wondering If I'm coming home for dinner but I told her I'm with you guys."
Elijah continued his story, "Our mother was a very powerful witch. She sought to end our feud over Tatia and so she took her. Klaus and I would later learn that it was Tatia's blood that we consumed in the wine on the night where our mother performed the spell which turned us into vampires." Elijah revealed a ghost of a frown on his lips. "Tatia wouldn't make a cession between the two of us, so for a time, Niklaus and I...grew estranged. Harsh words were traded, we even came to blows, didn't we brother?"
Klaus nodded a fraction, "But in the end, we realized the sacred bond of a family.
Those words irked Lyanna at the words.
The older Mikaelson smiled, "Family above all."
Elijah and Klaus raised their glasses as the hybrid repeated the words, "Family above all."
She noticed them looking right at Lyanna and the Heretic raised her brows pointedly, "What?"
"The toast goes for you as well." Elijah nodded towards her glass and Lyanna glanced at her glass. "You are family."
She collected her glass and clinked glasses with theirs before the trio drank it.
"Just so you know, this doesn't mean anything." Lyanna dismissed, nose pointed high as she crossed her arms after setting her glass down.
"Whatever you say, sister." Klaus drawled, feeling a spark of joy at her actions. Deep down, he knew that Lyanna still cared for them.
︵‿︵‿︵‿︵‿ ⋆ ˖୨♡୧˖⋆ ‿︵‿︵‿︵‿︵
Lyanna noticed Damon checking his phone and the Heretic wondered what he was planning.
He tapped her shoulder and discreetly showed the text, making Lyanna's lips lift.
"That's very simple. Klaus gets his coffin back, in exchange, he and the Original extended family leave Mystic Falls forever." Damon negotiates. "Me, Stefan, Elena, and Lyanna live happily ever after. No grudges."
Klaus wore a hard expression.
The suited Orginal spoke up next, "I think you are misunderstood that despite the fact that Lyanna is no longer in the best terms as we are at the moment, she still is a Mikaelson and a part of our family. Despite all that, the deal sounds fair, brother."
"I don't think you understand." Klaus began, fingers lacing together. "Elena's doppelganger blood ensures that I will always have more hybrids to fight those that oppose me. As long as I need her blood." his eyes flickered to Lyanna's. "And I will never leave behind Lyanna. She will be coming with me. Even if it means I have to drag that Bennett along so be it."
"Klaus!" Lyanna snapped angrily.
He rose to his feet and began pacing around. "But let's say I do leave Elana here, under your protection what then? How long before one of you turns her into a vampire? Or worse how long before she dies caught between your feuding? You see, each one of you truly believe that you can protect her, and that is simply a delusion." He leans against the table near them, "Gentlemen, the worst thing for Elena Gilbert is the two of you."
Damon gave them a weak smile and looked at Stefan. "I'm gonna get some air. Comin Ann?"
"Actually I'm going to the bathroom."
︵‿︵‿︵‿︵‿ ⋆ ˖୨♡୧˖⋆ ‿︵‿︵‿︵‿︵
Ten minutes have passed and Klaus and Stefan have been arguing. Pushing at each other back and forth. The hybrid had the Salvatore's arm stuck in the fireplace for ten minutes.
Before the actual fight could start Elijah and Damon strolled back into the room. Next to them to another female servant, carrying a covered tray.
"Elijah..." Klaus trailed off, "Why haven't you left?"
Lyanna came down the stairs wearing a perplexed expression.
"Where are your manners, brother? We forgot dessert."
He removed the cover of the tray to reveal two silver daggers.
The Heretic let out a gasp of surprise. "Oh my gosh."
Klaus' eyes widened, "What have you done?"
"What have you done?" Elijah countered as he watched his brother, "You see, I learned not to trust your vulgar promises, Klaus. We're doing this on my terms now." Elijah moved his brown orbs to Lyanna's shocked form.
"Consider this as a gift to you, sister. I know much you longingly wanted to reunite with them."
Before Lyanna could say anything, Kol strides into the room. His eyes only focused on Klaus'. The Heretic tried to step forward but Elijah vamped to her side and shook his head.
"Kol." Klaus gasped, worried.
"Long tie, brother." Kol greeted, smirking as he continued to approach like a snake circling a lion.
The hybrid immediately backed away from his younger brother when her eldest brother Finn -- suddenly appeared.
"Finn don't!" the hybrid cried out before he quickly grabbed one of the daggers and stabbed Klaus through the hand, causing Lyanna to flinch.
"Not only have you daggered me for 900 years but cast Lyanna away? That's low for you!"
Klaus tried to rush away but was blocked by Rebekah,
"Rebekah!"
She swiftly stabbed him in the stomach with a dagger, "This is for our mother."
Rebekah pulled out the dagger and Klaus fell back into Kol's arms, being restrained by his younger brother. He looked around frantically, his eyes filled with anguish as they met Lyanna's, who looked away bothered.
"You're free to go. This is family business." Elijah looked back at Stefan and Damon, both equally astonished by the Original family.
Stefan shook his head, "Not without Lyanna." the raven-haired vampire latched his arm on Lyanna who looked at him.
"Both of you leave, I'll meet you guys later tonight or tomorrow morning. I-I need to do this." Lyanna whispered, trying to coax the apprehensive brothers that refused to leave her behind.
"When you get out of there. I want you to call me right away." Damon demanded as if he was talking to a child.
"Fine." Lyanna chuckled.
Once they left, Lyanna turned to face Kol and Finn who stared at her like she'd grown a second head.
The Heretic watched Kol step forward first. They stood there looking at each other for a long time. She remembered the times when Kol used to take her by the rivers where they'd practice magic together or go on long walks in the woods.
He hadn't seen Lyanna in centuries because of his three other siblings. If anything, he was furious when he woke up in New Orleans without his favorite sister there to greet him.
"Is this real?" Kol asked, fighting the tears.
"Hey, Kol. Long time no see." Lyanna cracked a grin, tears clogging up her vision. Kol couldn't handle himself longer, he fell into her arms.
Lyanna cradled him like he was the most delicate piece of china on earth. He missed her too much. So much that he asked for the witches for help only to slaughter them when they didn't succeed.
She lets go and sees Finn standing there and sighed. "Finn," the Heretic didn't hesitate to leap into his arms.
Out of all the brothers, Finn was always the calmest and mature one. They did have their moments. Whenever Kol was busy with mother learning magic, and Klaus, Elijah, and Rebekah did their own thing, Lyanna always made time for Finn.
"I missed you so much, Finn. I'm so sorry." Lyanna pulled away and cradled his face with her hands. The eldest Mikaelson deserved so much more than being locked up for nine hundred years.
"It's not your fault," Finn replied, clutching onto Lyanna like she was his life force.
Lyanna flashed a sad smile and pulled away. She went for Rebekah and hugged her. "I'm sorry about Homecoming....I didn't know that Elena was going to dagger you. I'll make a note to tell her off later."
Her sister smiled and laughed. "Eh, there are more years to come for that." she then turned serious. Rebekah glared venomously at Klaus.
Kol came up and snaked his arms around Lyanna's waist as if she were to disappear.
Rebekah threw a vase at a painting and fell. Lyanna almost jolted at the loud noise.
"I wanted it to be for all of us," Klaus admitted, talking in a low tone. "A place we could all come home A place we could all be a family. None of us would ever have to be alone again." Klaus' eyes bore into Lyanna's green orbs.
"Well, you're right, none of us will be," Elijah replied.
"You're staying behind," Finn told Klaus.
"Were leaving you, Nik." Rebekah explained, "Right after I kill that doppelganger wretch, then you will be alone. And you'll never see Lyanna ever again. She's had enough of your trauma for a lifetime. Always and forever."
Lyanna became wide-eyed, "R-Rebekah." she knew how angry Rebekah was about their mother but she never knew that she was this furious.
"Stay out of this, Lyanna. It's what he deserves. You were on the run for centuries because this baboon wanted to become part dog. He's become power-hungry, Lyanna. We all know it." Kol continued to hold her as he made hurtful jabs at the hybrid.
The Heretic shut her mouth.
"If you run, I will hunt all of you down. You can't take Lyanna away from me." Klaus warned. He spent centuries searching for his sister to make up for his stupidity.
"Then you'll become everything you hate. Our father." Lyanna spoke clearly for the first time. She could tell the words hurt him deeply. To be compared to their father Mikael.
Klaus' eyes filled with tears threateningly to fall. "Lyanna please."
The wickedest Mikaelson shielded Lyanna's view and glared at his brother.
"I'm the hybrid! Klaus shouted. He finally broke. "I can't be killed! I have nothing to fear from any of you." he glared at Lyanna who's eyes flashed a violet color.
"Try me." Lyanna's eyes glowed.
"We will when we have that coffin." Elijah pointed out.
All of a sudden, the door opened and Kol still held onto Lyanna. All their heads turned to see the one person they least expected to see.
Esther stood in front of them and Klaus gaped in shock.
"Mother?" Rebekah questioned.
Esther walked over to Klaus but he avoided her eyes. The rest watched their mother in shock. "Look at me!" her voice struck cords in Klaus. "Do you know why I'm here?"
"You're here to kill me." Klaus responded.
"Niklaus, you are my son and I am here to forgive you." she looked at the rest of the children. "I want us to be a family again."
This all became too much for the youngest Mikaelson to handle. She shook her head coldly. "I-I can't do this."
Her eyes fell on her youngest and Esther's heart clenched. "Lyanna."
"I need to get home."
Esther's brows furrowed in confusion, "You are home." she responded in hurt.
Lyanna said nothing and tried to leave, only to be blocked by Elijah and Kol. The brunette scoffed, "Move out of my way."
"I already promised Damon and Stefan so don't think about making me stay." Lyanna snapped coldly.
"And I already told Damon ahead of time that you'll be staying here for the following night after dinner, I figured you'd like to spend time with Finn and Kol."
The Heretic resisted the urge to boil his blood cells. She turned around and faced Klaus and Esther. "Do you really think I wanna play happy family with him?" she emphasized on the last part towards Klaus. "Fine but don't expect me to get along with him. As far as I know, he's never owned up and given me a real apology."
Klaus tried to open his mouth only for Elijah to cut him off, "We can discuss this tomorrow, you must be tired."
The brunette sighed and nodded, throwing her hands up in defeat. "So where's my room?"
Kol's arm looped in Lyanna's and guided her upstairs with Elijah following along. "Enough of Nik, tell me what you've been doing for the past few centuries alone." he drawled, making another jab at him.
"Kol." Klaus hissed,
"Do you all hear something?"
"Nope." Rebekah and Finn replied in sync, both exchanging weird faces.
