The last scene of my favorite movie is heartbreakingly blue. Where the main characters of LaLaLand don't end up with the person I think they're supposed to but still become the person they're supposed to be. If I end five minutes early, at the ending montage where their lives play out in the different way I longed for I can lie to myself that that is how it really ended.
I might keep pausing our story right five minutes before the ending that I believe is supposed to happen. I still naively convince myself you're the person I'm supposed to be with. And that I can have you while simultaneously I becoming the person I'm supposed to be.
The sky looks more blue than it's supposed to be.
