It's goodbye and we're standing at the door looking at each other. I can't stop holding your eye contact and I'm thinking about kissing you. I'm wishing you would take a step forward and make a move on me. Or willing myself too but I don't have the confidence or the emotional stability to face rejection. What if friends is all you ever want to be. You're so far to reach- mentally and you physically. My step closer to you would be obvious. Will you take a step back in surprised response to me. Are you scared to lose me too as a friend if your attraction is not reciprocated? I just want to touch you so bad, but my mouth is not able to form the words "can I hug you?" It seems like the best way to share physical intimacy if not in a romantic way, at least as friends do. So I let this be and hope you come back to me, sooner and closer than this.
