20. TWO KILLERS?

Minji winced in exaggerated pain as Jin carefully tended to her wound, her tears flowing freely as she melodramatically lamented about the near-death experience. Taehyung sat nearby, his jaw clenched tightly, his expression strained as he fought to keep his temper in check.

"What if I had been killed? Look at the wound-" Minji's voice quivered with feigned distress, her sobs punctuating her words.

"It was just a scratch. Stop overreacting," Taehyung's response was curt, his tone flat and devoid of empathy as he saw through Minji's dramatic performance.

"S-scratch? What if I died-" Minji's voice trembled with fear, her eyes wide with feigned panic as she clutched her injured hand.

"Then the world would have been at peace," Taehyung retorted, his tone sharp with frustration as he fought to maintain his composure, his jaw clenched tightly.

"How could you say-" Minji began to protest, her voice quivering as she struggled to find the right words, her gaze pleading with Taehyung for understanding.

"Did I ask you to stay here? Did I?" His voice was low and menacing, his eyes flashing with a mixture of anger and restraint as he stared intently at Minji.

"Your dad-" Minji attempted to defend herself, her voice trailing off as she sensed the danger in Taehyung's demeanor, her heart pounding with fear as she realized the gravity of the situation.

In a swift and threatening move, Taehyung grabbed a wine bottle from the table and smashed it against the surface, the sound of shattering glass filling the room. With jagged shards in hand, he pressed the broken bottle against Minji's neck, the sharp edges grazing her skin as she gasped in terror, her eyes widening in disbelief.

"I already warned you not to talk about that man. Don't test my patience," Taehyung warned, his voice laced with barely contained anger as he towered over Minji, his expression fierce and unyielding.

Just as the tension reached its peak, Eunwoo intervened, stepping in to pull Taehyung away and disarm him, the room falling into a tense silence as everyone exchanged nervous glances, unsure of what would happen next.

"So, get to the point. Do we have two killers now?" Jaehyun's brow furrowed in confusion as he sought clarification.

"I'm afraid so," Namjoon confirmed with a heavy sigh. "But the good news is it's not Jaemin. He's still with Hoseok. They'll be here soon."

"We've ruled out one suspect only to find ourselves facing two killers. Ugh, I'm exhausted," Jackson lamented, frustration evident in his tone as he knocked his head against the table in exasperation.

"The one me and Jungkook saw was not the one we have been searching for all these days," Y/N stated gravely, her brows furrowed in concentration as Jungkook gently pressed an ice pack to her head, soothing the ache from where she'd been hit.

Beomgyu leaned forward, his curiosity piqued. "How can you be so sure?"

Y/N paused, gathering her thoughts before responding. "He had black eyes," she explained, her voice tinged with certainty.

"Maybe he forgot to wear lenses?" Yoongi suggested, surprising everyone with his uncharacteristically serious contribution. Sensing their disbelief, he quickly added, "What? I was just trying to help."

Jackson let out an exasperated sigh, rubbing his temples. "Fantastic. First, we had a killer who wore lenses to conceal his blue eyes, and now we have one wearing lenses to mimic them. This is beyond frustrating," he grumbled, his frustration palpable.

"The one who attacked me had blue eyes," Minji interjected, her voice quivering with a mix of fear and theatricality.

"How exactly did he attack you?" Yeonjun inquired, leaning forward with concern etched across his face.

"I was just washing my face when I felt someone standing behind me. I turned around and saw him there," Minji explained, her hands gesturing nervously as she relived the harrowing moment. "I suddenly turned around and before I knew it, he was on me," she continued, her tone dramatic as she emphasized the severity of the situation. "I thought I was done for, but luckily Sunho and Beomgyu showed up. Sunho tried to chase him down, but he got away,"

"And how did Y/N end up in Jungkook's room?" Namjoon questioned, his eyes scanning the room for any signs of deception.

"I was in my room when I heard a loud crash from Jungkook's room," Y/N explained, her voice steady but tinged with unease. "I went to check if everything was alright and that's when I saw the killer attempting to suffocate Jungkook with a pillow. It- Ah-" Y/N winced as Jungkook pressed the ice pack too hard against her head, eliciting a small gasp of pain.

"Sorry," Jungkook murmured, his expression filled with genuine remorse as he adjusted the ice pack more gently.

"Seriously, are you hurt again? Why do you always manage to land yourself in these dangerous situations?" Taehyung's scolding carried a tone of genuine concern as he addressed Y/N, his eyes reflecting worry mingled with frustration from her repeated brushes with danger.

"I was hurt too, and yet you dismiss it as overreacting. And now you're fussing over her like she's a little baby." Minji retorted incredulously, her voice laced with a mixture of annoyance and disbelief at the contrasting treatment she perceived.

Taehyung's lips pressed into a thin line as he opted to ignore Minji's remark, his attention fully on ensuring Y/N's comfort and well-being.

"I am talking to you," Minji persisted, her tone firm as she approached Taehyung, her hand nudging his shoulder in an attempt to capture his attention, albeit unsuccessfully, as his jaw clenched visibly.

"You don't have to-" Taehyung began, but Minji cut him off, her voice rising in frustration.

"Why do you even love her when she doesn't even care about you-" Minji's accusation hung in the air, but Taehyung's response was swift, his own frustration evident as he stepped closer to Minji, his demeanor tense with suppressed anger.

"It's none of your business. Why should I prove you-" Taehyung's retort was sharp, his proximity to Minji indicating his readiness to confront her, the tension between them palpable.

"Guys, just stop it. Why are you two even fighting because of me-" Y/N's voice broke through the escalating tension, her attempts to intervene met with Taehyung's swift interruption, his emotions barely contained.

"Stay away from this, Y/N!" Taehyung's warning was sharp as he pushed her to the side, his actions driven by a desire to shield her from the escalating confrontation.

"Yah, why? Why is it so hard for you to love me?" Minji's voice wavered with a mix of frustration and hurt, her words echoing the turmoil within her.

"BECAUSE I LOVE HER AND NOT YOU!" Taehyung's response was a vehement yell, his pent-up emotions finally bursting forth as he reiterated his feelings, exhaustion evident in his voice.

"SHE DOESN'T LOVE YO-"

"I DON'T CARE!" Taehyung's voice thundered through the room, his outburst sending a wave of fear through everyone present. "ALL I CARE IS THAT I LOVE HER! SHE LOVES ME BACK OR NOT, I DON'T FUCKING CARE!" With that, he turned and stormed towards his room, the sound of the door slamming shut reverberating in the tense silence.

"I will get what I want, Kim Taehyung. Whatever it takes," Minji muttered darkly to herself before she stormed off to her room, her footsteps echoed down the hallway, leaving an unsettling atmosphere in her wake. Each member of the group exchanged tense glances, their minds racing with thoughts and emotions stirred by the heated confrontation.

But beneath the surface, a sense of foreboding lingered, as if the aftermath of Taehyung and Minji's confrontation was only the beginning of a much larger storm yet to come.

-

Y/N sat in her class, the sound of Mr. Kim's lecture on garment construction filling the room. Despite the intricate details of pattern drafting being discussed, she couldn't shake the unsettling feeling of being watched. With a sense of unease, she turned her attention to Jibin, who sat a few rows away, his gaze fixed intently on her.

His stare felt unnervingly intense, sending a shiver down her spine. Suddenly his lips curled into a subtle, almost sinister smile as their eyes met. Y/N forced a strained smile in return, her mind racing with suspicion. This wasn't the first time she had caught him staring, and each time, it left her feeling more unsettled than before.

Jibin broke their eye contact and turned his head back to his book, revealing the bandage at the back of his head, the sight only fueled Y/N's growing unease. A surge of alarm coursed through her veins, her mind racing with questions and doubts. Before she could dwell on it further, Jibin's eyes met hers once again, causing her heart to pound erratically in her chest. With a quick movement, she averted her gaze back to her book, her fingers trembling slightly as she tried to compose herself.

After the class, Y/N meticulously packed her belongings into her bag, her senses tingling with unease. Suddenly, Jibin materialized beside her, his smile a touch too wide and his eyes slightly too intense.

"Hey, you alright?" He asked, his voice laced with a feigned concern that sent shivers down her spine.

"Yeah, why?" She responded, her smile strained as she tried to maintain composure.

"Nothing. I just felt like you were avoiding me. Did I do something wrong?" His innocent inquiry seemed rehearsed, his eyes scanning her face for any sign of vulnerability.

"No, why would you think something like that?" Y/N responded, her tone defensive, trying to hide her suspicion behind a mask of offense.

"Well, w- what happened to your head?" She asked, her gaze shifting to the bandage on the back of his head, her curiosity piqued. She observed him closely, waiting to hear what excuse he would offer.

Jibin smiled nervously as he scratched his neck, offering a casual explanation. "Oh, I fell from the stairs and hit my head."

Y/N's expression softened as she feigned concern. "Oh, god. Are you alright?" She asked, playing the role of the caring senior, though her mind was racing with suspicion.

"Yeah, don't worry," Jibin reassured her, his smile faltering slightly. "Um, can we go out for a drink?" he asked, his eyes hopeful as he awaited her response.

Y/N hesitated for a moment, her mind racing with excuses. "Um, I'm kind of busy today," she replied, her smile tinged with nerves as she quickly packed up her belongings. "Maybe another time." She glanced at him apologetically before hurrying to leave the classroom.

As Y/N walked away, Jibin's expression darkened, his frustration evident as he muttered to himself, "How long are you going to try escaping from me?" He watched her depart, a sense of determination flickering in his gaze.

-

As Y/N leisurely traversed the campus grounds, the soothing ambiance of the environment provided a stark contrast to the urgency in her voice as she awaited Namjoon's response.

"Hey, Namjoon ssi," she greeted with a mix of relief and anticipation as he answered the call, her voice resonating with a sense of purpose.

"I think I may have uncovered something about one of the killers," she divulged, her words laced with a hint of urgency and determination.

"Yeah, I'll fill you in with all the details later this evening," she reassured, her commitment unwavering as she prepared to unravel the intricacies of her discovery in their upcoming discussion.

"I-" she began, only to be abruptly interrupted as someone obstructed her path, causing her to peer up at the unexpected figure before her.

"Excuse me? can you move out of my way?" she asked, her curiosity tinged with a hint of caution as she scrutinized the individual blocking her way.

"Aren't you Y/N?" he countered, his gaze shifting between her face and his phone.

"Yeah, but who are you-" she attempted to question further, but before she could finish her sentence, he swiftly produced a canister and sprayed something in her direction. With a gasp, she collapsed unconscious to the ground, her phone still connected to Namjoon, who could be heard urgently calling out to her on the other end of the line, his concern palpable even through the digital connection.

"Take her," the man instructed tersely, gesturing toward Y/N's unconscious form as he kept a watchful eye on their surroundings.

Two others swiftly obeyed, hoisting her limp body and carefully placing her inside a waiting van, their movements quick and efficient as they checked for any potential onlookers before hastily driving away from the scene.

-

Yoongi's footsteps echoed across the deserted campus ground when his eyes caught sight of the van pulling away in the distance, its dark silhouette ominous against the backdrop of the deserted campus.

With a surge of adrenaline, Yoongi broke into a sprint, his heart pounding in his chest as he chased after the van. "Yah, stop!" His voice reverberated through the desolate space, desperation fueling each word as he strained to catch the attention of the disappearing vehicle. But despite his efforts, the van continued its relentless course, slipping further away with each passing second.

Frantically, Yoongi pursued the van, his mind racing with fear and apprehension for Y/N's safety. As he reached the spot where the van had been, he stumbled upon something on the ground-a glint of metal catching his eye. It was Y/N's phone, abandoned on the pavement, a silent witness to the harrowing events that had unfolded.

With trembling hands, Yoongi picked up the phone, a wave of dread washing over him as he realized the gravity of the situation. "Y/N? Are you there? Say something!" Namjoon's urgent voice pierced through the silence, drawing Yoongi's attention back to the present.

"Namjoon?" Yoongi's voice quivered with uncertainty as he clutched the phone tightly, his heart heavy with concern for his missing friend.

"Yoongi? Where is Y/N?" Namjoon's voice crackled with worry, his urgency mirroring Yoongi's own sense of dread.

"Someone took her in a van," Yoongi's words were tinged with fear as he relayed the chilling news, his mind reeling with the implications of Y/N's disappearance from the campus ground.

In the midst of a critical meeting, Taehyung's phone erupted with urgency, its shrill ring cutting through the hushed atmosphere of the conference room. With a furrowed brow, he shot a puzzled glance at the caller ID, his expression reflecting his confusion as he answered the call.

"Taehyung! I think Y/N is kidnapped!" Namjoon's urgent tone reverberated through the phone, sending a surge of adrenaline coursing through Taehyung's veins.

"What do you mean kidnapped?" Taehyung's voice rang out, his tone laced with disbelief and rising panic, causing heads to turn in the meeting room as all eyes landed on him. With a swift gesture, he signaled the abrupt end of the meeting, his actions leaving the room in a state of bewildered silence.

Without a moment's hesitation, Taehyung bolted from the conference room, his strides purposeful as he retrieved his car keys and dashed outside.

"We already started searching, Taehyung. Calm down-" Namjoon's voice attempted to placate Taehyung's escalating emotions.

"How am I supposed to calm down?" Taehyung retorted, his frustration and disbelief palpable in his tone.

"I- I know. Sorry. Just come to our office. And can you check for Jimin at the house on your way?" Namjoon's request was tinged with urgency.

"Why should I?" Taehyung asked in confusion, his brow furrowing at the unexpected request.

"Come on Taehyung. I have a bad feeling. He isn't picking up my calls. Just check if he is at house safe. I told him to come with us but he insisted on staying alone," Namjoon urged, his tone tinged with concern.

"You can ask Jungkook or someone-"

"Taehyung! You are already coming that way. Besides, he is your best friend even if you two are now in a fight. So-"

"Fine! I will check," Taehyung acquiesced reluctantly, his annoyance evident as he started his car.

Jimin felt utterly exhausted as he stumbled into the bathroom, barely mustering the energy to turn on the faucet. Without bothering to undress, he sank into the bathtub, his clothes clinging uncomfortably to his tired body.

As the warm water enveloped him, he closed his eyes, surrendering to the soothing embrace, each breath a struggle against the weight of exhaustion. Slowly, he allowed himself to submerge deeper, the water providing a fleeting respite.

As Jimin prepared to lift his head from the water's surface, a sudden force shoved him downwards, plunging him into a suffocating darkness. Panic surged through him as his lungs screamed for air, his nose burning and eyes stinging with tears.

Desperately, he thrashed against the unseen assailant, clawing at the water in a frantic bid for survival. But each attempt to push away was met with resistance, the crushing weight of exhaustion bearing down on him, rendering him powerless against the relentless assault on his senses.

"Jimin?" As Jimin teetered on the brink of consciousness, the voice of someone calling out his name pierced through the haze of his fading senses. It was the last thing he registered before succumbing to the engulfing darkness, his body limp and unresponsive.

"Jimin? Where is he?" Taehyung muttered to himself in annoyance as he walked towards his room. However, as he approached, he noticed the door was wide open, a sight that puzzled him deeply at the usual state of Jimin's room.

As Taehyung cautiously stepped into the room, his senses heightened with unease. Each step echoed in the silent room, his heartbeat pounding in his ears. His eyes widened in horror as they fell upon the open bathroom door. With a sinking feeling in his gut, he hastened towards it, his breath catching in his throat. Blood drained from his face as he entered the bathroom and saw Jimin, his usually vibrant self, now pale and lifeless, lying in the water-filled tub.

With trembling hands, he rushed forward, his breaths coming in short gasps. Without hesitation, Taehyung reached into the water and pulled Jimin's limp body into his arms. His eyes brimmed with tears as he gently tapped on Jimin's cheeks, calling out his name in a desperate attempt to rouse him.

"Jimin! Hey, wake up!" His voice trembled with emotion, each word laden with fear and urgency. But there was no response, only the eerie silence of the bathroom punctuated by the sound of Taehyung's frantic pleas.

"Come on, idiot! Don't scare me!" he begged, his voice cracking as he struggled to hold back his tears. Yet Jimin remained motionless, his pallid face a stark contrast against the water.

With desperation fueling his actions, Taehyung immediately began administering CPR, his hands pressing rhythmically on Jimin's chest as he tried to stimulate his breathing. Tears streamed down his face unchecked, mingling with the water droplets on Jimin's motionless form. Despite his efforts, there was no response, no sign of life returning to Jimin's limp body.

"No no no.... I won't let you die!" Taehyung's voice cracked with emotion as he continued to perform CPR, each compression accompanied by a silent plea for Jimin to wake up. He shook him gently, hoping to rouse him from his unconscious state, but Jimin remained unresponsive, his pale face hauntingly still.

Taehyung's heart felt like it was shattering into a million pieces as he held onto Jimin tightly, his sobs echoing off the walls of the bathroom. In that moment of despair, all he could do was cling to his best friend, praying for a miracle that seemed increasingly out of reach.

Sorry about Jimin. Well, what is going to happen now? I remember how much friend scolded me for killing her bias after I told her this chapter lol. Good thing is that she didn't kill me.

Who must have kidnapped Y/N and attacked Jimin?
