Athena tiredly made her way up the driveway when the sound of Julie screaming filled her ears, causing her to sprint toward the sound.

"Julie!" Athena called, stopping at the opened doors to the garage, stopping in her tracks as she saw 3 unfamiliar teenage boys blocking the door. "Julie?"

That caused the three to quickly turn and face the brunette girl as she could finally see Julie behind them holding up a cross.

"What's going on...?" Athena trailed off, looking from the boys to her scared looking best friend as she made her over to her, whispering to the girl. "Who are they?"

"I don't know. They just appeared." Julie whispered back, causing the girl to furrow her eyebrow as Julie turned back to the boys. "Who are you, and what are you doing in my mom's studio?"

"Your mom's studio? This is our studio." The middle guy said, walking past the two girl's, causing Julie to push the cross closer to him. "Trust me, my... The grand piano is new, and... and... and... my couch!"

The boy looked around the room before stopping as he looked closely.

"That is definitely not my six-string." He said, pointing toward Athena's guitar that sat beside the couch, looking around the room, noticing stuff that wasn't there before. "Can you give me just one second? Just... give me a second. Thank you?"

The boy quickly went back toward his friend as they grouped together as they started whispering.

"Who are they, Julie?" Athena whisper-yelled.

"I don't!" Julie whispered back, shrugging her shoulders. "I was playing an old CD that was in mom's stuff and then poof, they appeared."

"People don't just appear out of thin air, Jules." Athena said.

"No, ghosts do." Julie said.

"Ghosts!" Athena whisper-yelled, causing her eyes to wide.

The sound of someone clearing their throat, caused the two girls to turn around, seeing the boy in the pink hoodie stepped closer to them.

"Why are you in our studio?" He questioned, causing the girls to share a look before Julie pushed the cross toward and instead of hitting him it went through him.

"Woah." Athena said, causing her eyes to go wide.

"Oh my gosh! How did you do that?" Julie said, looking at the cross after pulling it from his chest.

"Clearly, you're not understanding... she doesn't get it." He said, looking from one girl to the other, causing the Michaels girl to shake her head. "Ok, look. We're ghosts, all right? We're just three ghosts, and we're really happy to be home. So, thank you for the flowers. They really brighten up the room."

"We're actually in a band called Sunset Curve." The lead boy said.

"Tell your friends." The one wearing a leather jacket said.

"Last night was supposed to be a really big night for us." The short one spoke. "It was gonna change our lives."

"I... I'm pretty sure it did." The one in the pink hoodie said.

"This is freaking me out. Why isn't this freaking you out." Julie said, turning to Athena causing her to shrug.

"I don't know." Athena said, looking at each boy, eyes lingering on the boy with the flannel around his waist. "There's something about them that feels trusting."

Julie simply rolled her eyes as she quickly pulled out her phone.

"What is that? What is she doing?" The short one asked, pointing at Julie's phone.

"It's my phone." Julie answered matter-of-factly. "No! Stop talking to them. They aren't real. There's no such thing as cute ghosts."

"Oh, you think we're cute." The leather jacket wearing boy said.

Julie and Athena turned their attention to Julie's phone as she quickly typed.

"Who you calling?" Pink hoodie questioned.

"I'm googling Sunset Swerve." Julie answered.

"It's Sunset Curve." The boys corrected the girl together, causing Julie to send them an uncomfortable smile before turning back to her phone.

"Whoa. There is a Sunset Curve." Julie said, showing Athena her phone. "You did die. But not last night."

"It says that you died... 25 years ago?" Athena questioned, causing the three ghosts' faces to drop.

"What? No, no, no. Th-th-that's impossible." Leather jacket said, shaking his head. "After we floated out of the ambulance, all we did was go to that weird dark room where Alex cried."

"Well... I don't think..." the boy Athena assumed was Alex; spoke in a high pitched voice. "I think we were all pretty upset."

"But that was just for like an hour." The short one explained, looking from his two friends to Julie and Athena. "We just showed up here."

"Look. I'm just telling you what my phone says." Julie turned her phone so they could see the article. "See? You died in 1995. When you were 17. It's now 2020."

"So, this is the future?" Leather jacket mumbles in disbelief.

"Wait. So... so, it has been 25 years." 'Alex' said, causing Athena to nod, sending him a small smile. "I have been crying for 25 years? How is that possible?"

"Well, you're a very emotional person."

"I am not."

"Thought you were afraid to come out here." Carlos; Julie's little brother said, making his way into the studio. "You talking to your ghost friend? How does he look? Is he hideous?"

"He can see you."

"No, he can't." Julie said, looking over at the ghost boys, causing Carlos to look behind him confused.

"What?" Carlos asked, looking back at his sister, causing Athena to shrug.

"Uh... what do you want?" Julie quickly asked.

"A normal sister, for starters. Stop being weird and come eat." Carlos said, turning back around and heading back to the house.

"He couldn't see you." Julie said, dumbfounded, looking at the 3 ghosts.

"They're kinda ghosts, Jules." Athena spoke.

"Yeah, I think that's kinda how this work." 'Alex' interjects, causing Julie to walk past them, pulling Athena with her.

"Look I'm very sorry for what happened to you guys, but this isn't your studio anymore. You have to leave." Julie demands.

"But wait. We..." the short one spoke up, causing Julie to quickly turn back around glaring. "We didn't get your names."

"It's Julie."

"And I'm her best friend Athena." The small girl grinned, waving at the group, causing them to send a small smile as Alex sent a small wave as Reggie happily waved.

"Cool. I-I'm Luke." Luke said, stepping forward, causing Julie to hold up the cross making him step back again. "by... by the way. A-and this is-."

"Reggie. I'm Reggie. Hey."

"Alex. How's it going?"

"Ba-da." Luke softly said, gesturing toward his friends, causing Athena to let out a light chuckle.

"Ok?" Julie shrugged her shoulders, grabbing Athena's arm again, pulling her into her house.

"Hey, why'd you do that?" Athena asked, walking behind Julie.

"Do what?" Julie spoke, sounding annoyed.

"Kick them out. They seemed so lost and desperate." Athena said, causing Julie to stop and turn toward the girl.

"Thena, they're ghosts. They're dead, I'm sure they don't have feelings." Julie said, crossing her arms.

"That's just a hurtful ghost stereotype." Athena said, walking past the curly haired girl and into the dining room, grabbing the basket of breadsticks to take to the table only to find Carlos and Ray, Julie's dad.

"There you go." Ray said, placing the pot in the center of the table as Carlos placed down the last plate as Julie placed down the salad. "Ok. Let's do this."

The four took a seat around the table as Athena took her seat beside Julie, grabbing onto her hands.

"I think it's your turn Carlos." Athena said, sending the boy a kind smile.

"Thank you for our leftovers and the power of the mighty microwave." Carlos said, causing a grin to grow on all of their faces. "Amen."

"Amen."

"So. Carlos tells me he found you in the studio." Ray said, serving the kids around the table.

"She was out there talking to herself." Carlos said.

"I was actually talking to Thena." Julie said, bumping shoulders with the girl beside her.

"Yeah, we were rehearsing for a play." Athena said, nodding her head as her mouth was full of spaghetti, causing the other three to laugh as the girl quickly swallowed. "Sorry, Madame Giry pushed us hard today and I'm starving."

"No need to apologize." Ray said, waving it off.

"Hello, hello!"

"Oh, busted!" Carlos said, causing the two Molina siblings and Athena to quickly remove the empty plate and silverware from the spot their mom used to sit.

"Yeah, we're in here." Ray called out, quickly looking over to his children. "Quick!"

"Huh! Spaghetti. Again?" Aunt Victoria said, entering the kitchen. "That's too bad. I brought you my pasteles and arroz con pollo."

"Yum."

"Mm!" Julie said, turning around to face her aunt. "Thanks, tia. It smells great."

"You can have it tomorrow." Aunt Victoria said, placing it in the fridge. "I can't let you have leftovers every night. My sister and Sammi would kill, may they rest in peace. Oh... I see things here are going better?"

"Actually... Julie has been cleaning out mom's studio." Ray said. "Hopefully, we can get the house on the market and some offers soon."

"Well, I like the sound of that. Moving from here is only gonna help you move on." Tia said. "You've got to rip that band-aid off and get the pain over with."

"Ah!" Julie yells, causing everyone to turn to her as she lets out an awkward chuckle. "That's me. Ripping off the band-aid."

"There's my brave girl." Tia said, causing her to squeeze Julie checks.

"Hey, Julie." Luke said, leaning in front of them, causing the brunette girl to slightly jump. "I really like what you guys did with the place."

"Everything okay, Athena?" Tia asked, causing the girl to nod quickly as she smiled at the older lady.

"Yeah, Julie just touched me with her cold hand and I wasn't expecting it." Athena lied.

"You shouldn't be here." Julie spoke at the same time, causing everyone to turn to her as Aunt Victoria gasped.

"Oh, I'm just here to help, mija." Tia said, placing her hand on her niece's shoulder, causing Julie to look back at Athena to the three ghosts standing in the room, causing the Michaels girl to shrug.

"Oh... I think that's our cue to leave." Alex spoke.

"I think what she meant to say is that shouldn't you should be at Pilates." Athena said, causing Julie to quickly nod.

"Yes. Thank you for bringing us food." Julie said, quickly pulling her aunt into a hug as she sent the three ghost the death glare.

"We should've called first." Reggie said, quickly leaving through the front with his bandmates.

"It's nothing and now that you're no longer in the music program, you can concentrate on classes that matter." Tia said, causing the room to go silent. "You got the email from the school, right?"

"Yeah. We're still discussing it". Ray said, causing Athena to send Julie a sad look.

"Bueno. I'm off to Pilates." Tia said, blowing a kiss toward Carlos, causing him to hit it like a baseball before she placed a kiss on Julie's head before quickly leaving.

"So, Julie, wanna hear how I slid into home and was almost safe?" Carlos asked.

"You're a good brother. That's not gonna work." Ray said, snapping his fingers as he pointed toward the living room.

"I tried." Carlos said, standing up from his spot.

"Come on, you can tell me what happened, Alex Rodriguez." Athena said, standing up as she followed the boy to the living room.

Not even a minute later the sound of loud music filled the house.

"What's that?" Carlos questioned, making his way back to the dining room table with Athena right behind him.

"I must have left the stereo on in the garage." Julie said, quickly standing up , grabbing Athena's hand as she pulled her with her. "We'll go get it."

As the duo stepped into the garage, the three non looking dead teens were rocking out.

"Guys! Guys!" Julie exclaimed, causing the three to finally notice the duo. "Stop! Cut it out!"

"Sweet." Athena said, nodding her head as they finished.

"Not sweet! The whole neighborhood could hear you. I thought I told you to leave." Julie said, crossing her arms.

"Wait. People can hear us play?" Luke questioned, causing Athena to nod.

"Yes! And so did my dad and my brother!" Julie whisper-yelled.

"W-wait. So only you two can see us but everyone can hear us?" Alex questioned.

"I mean, what kind of ghosts are we?"

"Who cares, man? People can hear us play!" Luke exclaimed.

"We might be dead, but our music isn't." Reggie added.

"Dad!" Julie said, causing Athena to turn her head toward the door to see Ray.

"Hey. Just making sure you guys are okay." Ray said.

"Yeah, we're totally fine." Athena said, nodding her head with Julie. "We just had to turn off the CD player. Julie was showing me a CD earlier."

"Wait, is this the junk that was in the loft before Thena moved in?" Ray questioned, looking at the guitars and drum set.

"Junk?" Luke said, sounding hurt.

Ray made his way over to Alex's dorms before hitting on them with his hands.

"Some of this stuff's in pretty good shape." Ray said, using the kick drum. "Hey maybe we can make a couple bucks."

"Yo, stop touching my drums." Alex yelled at Ray before looking at Julie and Athena. "Tell him to stop touching my drums."

"Actually my grandpa told me that the most important rule in selling instruments is that it should be mint condition." Athena explained. "The less fingerprints the better."

"Right." Ray said, moving away from the drums. "I liked that song you had on."

"Sweet! We're Sunset Curve." Luke said.

"Tell your friends." Reggie said.

"It's just an old CD I found." Julie said, causing Athena to nod with a smile.

"Well, still, it's nice that you're listening to music again." Ray said, looking between Julie and Athena. "Out here you can play whatever you want, whenever you want."

"That's sweet/ That's nice." Athena and Reggie spoke at once.

"Stay out of it." Julie said to Reggie.

"I-I'm sorry, honey. I didn't..." Ray said.

"Oh no, no, no, no. Not you." Julie said, shaking her head quickly, looking from her dad to Athena. "I mean... uh... er... you know, give us a minute."

"Hey. Hey. Hey. Hey." Ray said. "We'll figure out this music program thing."

"Thanks, dad." Julie said, smiling at the man before pointing towards the door.

"He likes our song." Luke said, happily.

"Oh, yeah he doesn't count. He's a dad." Alex said, causing Athena to chuckle.

"Why can't you guys just be normal ghosts?" Julie said, causing the other four to turn towards her. "Hang out in old mansions. I hear Pasadena's nice."

Julie quickly stormed out of the room, slamming the door behind her.

"I think she's warming up to us." Alex said, turning to the others.

"Definitely." Athena agreed, nodding her head.

"Yeah, I've always wanted to go to Pasadena." Reggie said, causing Alex to hm as Luke poofed out of the room. "Hey where'd he go?"

"Probably to talk to Julie." Alex said, pointing toward the door, causing Athena to nod.

That caused the brown haired bass player to poof out of the room, causing Athena to turn to Alex.

"I'll just-" Alex said, pointing toward the door. "Yeah."

Alex quickly poofed, causing the girl to silently walk out the door, making her way to the others.

"Clearly you mom is into music." Athena heard Luke say as she approached them.

"Was." Julie corrected the boy with a sad look. "She passed away."

"I am..." Luke said, lost for words. "So sorry."

"Yeah, we..." Alex said, making the trio's presence known. "We didn't know."

"It's all right." Julie said. "You guys haven't seen her have you. Or Thena's mom from wherever you're from."

That caused the boys to look back at the small Michaels girl, causing her to send them a small smile.

"Um.." Alex said, making eye contact with Reggie before looking back at Julie. "No. No, I mean, you're kind of the first person we've seen. Well people."

"Yeah, but they're not dead, so it doesn't answer her question." Reggie said, causing Athena to send him a small smile.

"Yeah. I think she knows what we mean." Alex said. "I'm sorry for your losses."

"Thanks." Julie said, sending him a small smile.

"It's fine. I've learned to cope." Athena said, sending the blonde a smile. "But thanks."

"Sorry I got mad." Julie said. "You guys are kinda good."

"Kinda?" Luke said in disbelief. "Y-y-you know that's like 25 years of rust just getting dusted off."

"Yeah. Do you play piano too?" Reggie questioned, looking from the garage back to Julie.

"No." Julie quickly said, causing Athena to give her a look. "No, I don't play. That was my mom's stuff in there. Some of its Athena's."

"You play?" Luke questioned, looking down at the Michaels girl.

"Just a little bit." Athena said, holding her thumb and pointer finger close together. "I mostly dance. Ballet mostly. My mom taught me at a young age."

"Cool." Alex said, smiling at the girl.

"Your mom's an amazing songwriter." Luke said, looking over at Julie.

"She was." Julie said.

"She was the best." Athena said, smiling at Julie.

"Wait. How would you know?" Julie questioned the boy.

"T-there's a song on the piano." Luke explains. "If it's hers... your mom was really talented."

Julie went to walk to the house but quickly stopped in her steps.

"I guess..." Julie started. "If you need a place to stay, you can stay in there. If Athena's cool with it."

"Of course." Athena said, smiling at the group. "There's a bathroom in the back and a couch that turns into a bed if you still use any of that stuff."

"Dibs on the shower!" Reggie quickly exclaimed, lifting his hand up. "I just really like showers and sometimes the occasional bath."

"This... this is just too weird." Julie said, looking at all the boys before quickly turning around and heading back into the house.

"Come on." Athena said, leading the boys back to the studio, holding up one of the doors, allowing the boys in first. "Welcome home, roomies."

"Thanks for letting us stay." Alex said, following the girl as she headed toward the couch as she began pulling out the bed.

"No need to thank me." Athena said, smiling at the three boys. "Here's the bed. My room is up in the loft if you guys need me. Don't be afraid to come up."

"Night, Thena." The three boys said, smiling at the girl.

"Night guys." Athena said, sending them one last smile before heading up to her room for the night.
