(Sonic's POV)

There's no way to get to the windmill with this river going a little strong from the stream. Just then, two spirits of a wolf and a bat flew to a log nearby and just disappeared; my parents really know how to guide me.

"Thanks guys." I said to their spirits and lift the log and tossed it to the river as I quickly jumped on it like a surfer surfing the water.

The currents in the river got stronger but I kept my balance, "You are an Aniwaya Indian and a bloodsucker, Sonic! Don't fail your parents!" I kept my balance up but saw a rock, "Whoa!" I dodged it right on time but it's not over yet when I saw raging waters that have rocks underneath. That can't be good, the stream is going to get bumpy! So, I had to jump with the log and get to deeper water. But soon the log was knocked off by a boulder and I had to get to shore.

Phew, that was close. Now Starline's windmill is not far away. He could be having guards around lurking to stalk prey of the living. I got the feeling the mill is merely a cover for a hidden dungeon. I took out some binoculars and had a look.

Oh, those are pretty big bad boys down there guarding the area of the windmill and I definitely wouldn't be able to fight them all at once. Time for an eagle's eye to shoot them out.

"Okay, chief taught me about the eagle's eye training. Like a sniper on a crow's nest." I said and took out liquid garlic and spray it on the pointy tips of my arrows. This should definitely kill them because garlic is like an allergic reaction and if these bad boys touch garlic, they will feel pain and mostly heart failure.

I see the spirits of the wolf and bat of my parents, "Spook them like a ghost, mom and dad." I gestured them and they flew down there to distract those vampires.

The guards saw them and tried to chase them off when I loaded my arrows and targeted them when they were at the right spot. Then I shot them at their chests.

"DAAAAAGH!!!" They felt the liquid garlic spread through them.

Like venom spreading through the veins to cause all sorts of symptoms. Now to get to Starline if he's inside there. I passed by the dead guards. Hmm....I'll need their blood to make marks on my cheeks as a sign of hunting a murderer. So, I kneel down and slashed a corpse's neck as blood dripped on my dagger and I put my fingers on it to make marks on my cheeks.

I broke down the door and shouted, "Starline! Come out and face me!"

Goddamn it! I shouldn't do that without thinking but inside the windmill was filled with weapons but no Starline. He's probably hiding somewhere like a coward who fears dhampirs.

I looked around and loaded my bow with another arrow. Starline can't bite me without fangs so he might use a weapon to kill me.

"Come out already Starline and face me like a man!" I dared him if he heard me.

"You have a pulse? Dhampir, no? You're Aleena's son and for centuries you're alive?" I heard Starline, where ever he is.

"I'm a very deadly dhampir that has killed vampires. And you're next on my list." I said, looking around.

"I can't imagine that one day a dhampir like you would be living on earth, hunting vampires for lust." Starline laughed.

"I don't hunt for lust; I hunt to kill for what you and your kind did to my parents!" I yelled.

"Your mom was weak, a disgrace and a traitor!" Starline said, this made me really mad.

"SHUT UP!!!" I grabbed a gun nearby and shot around the ceiling out of anger.

Then I saw Starline appear and he stood there with a grin, "Shows over, dhampir hedgehog!" He aimed his own gun at me.

"The show must go on!" I did my enhanced leap and land right on the planks of the windmill interior, "And never talk about my mother like that!" I aimed me gun to shoot his fucking head off but he moved around too much with vampire speed.

"You'll die like her!" Starline grabbed a torch and tried to burn me.

I did a back flip and grabbed the rope and swung back and forth to Starline, knocking him off the deck of the windmill. But that was kinda stupid when he dropped the torch. So, I splashed a nearby puddle onto the torch.

"You're strong but not strong enough when you're half mortal!" Starline threaten me.

"Maybe but you know nothing about me! I killed Dracula and now I'm gonna do the same to you but much worse!" I drew my dagger.

"I see you have your mother's dagger. A powerful weapon she held to fight werewolves and demons centuries ago. But you are nothing like that woman who never raised you." Starline threatened me again.

"Oh yeah?! WATCH THIS!" I lunged at him and almost slashed him.

"I know every move to avoid getting stabbed in the heart!" Starline laughed and climbed up to the top of the windmill.

"We shall see!" I climbed after him.

Starline drew a sword at swung it at me but I dodged and jumped over him. "I'll stab your ass for murdering my mother!" I said with an angry tone.

"TRY ME!" Starline kicks me back and I fell on the roof and then he tries to stab me. I blocked the blade with my dagger, using all my strength.

"My dagger wants your heart, asshole!" I kicked him in the crotch to weaken him and elbow punched him in the face.

"UGH!" He dropped his sword and with his guard down I shoved my dagger in his chest.

"I told you! You die for that!" I yelled but I don't see him turning into ashes. Fuck! I didn't aim at his heart area, I aimed at his sternum area. Probably didn't went deeper to the chest to the heart.

"You forgot to aim the heart! You aim at the sternum!" He removed the dagger and nearly stabbed me in the face.

"AGH!" He only left a cut on my face; he grabbed me and threw me through the roof and back inside.

"I know every vampire killer's move! You ain't getting rid of me that easily! Son of Aleena!" He grabbed me by the back of my neck.

"Agh! Keep on dreaming, undead!" I strained and saw the sunrise, that would be my chance to kill him but I gotta keep him distracted first.

"Because I have spirits guiding me!" I head butted him with my back head and I let out an Indian ululated yell for the spirits of wolf and bat to distract him as I recover.

"AAAAARROOOOOO!!!" They all surrounded him.

Starline has no idea who these spirits are but he knows it's a wolf and a bat spirit. "What's this trickery?!" Starline got confused.

"My parents' justice!" I said.

My mom's bad spirit screeched like a bat and tried to flap her wings like a wind gust at him while my dad's wolf spirit bites Starline's arm. "GET OFF ME!" He tried to wave them away but I ran to the brick wall and punched it with my mighty strength for the sunlight to enter through and as it did, the sunlight touched Starline and his skin got burnt.

"Feel the morning's wrath you son of a bitch!" I said and let out another Indian ululated yell.

More spirits appeared and my father's and mother's spirits took on hedgehog forms and gave Starline scary looks.

"NO! THIS CAN'T BE!!! AAAAAAAAGH!!!" Starline screamed from the burned-up skin.

"Burn in hell, Starline! Just like you burned me alive!" My mother's spirit yelled.

"That's for taking my love!" My father's spirit said.

"Enjoy in the depths of Hell with Dracula and Mephiles!" Mother watched Starline let out his final cries of pain before his ashes shattered and the ashes just got carried away in the wind like there's nothing left from him.

"Morning sunlight always kicks vampire ass." I chuckled.

"Thank you for avenging us, Sonic." Mom turned to me and proudly places her hand on my shoulder.

"Mother!" I hugged her for dear life that I'm just so happy to see her again, even if she's not alive.

"My boy. I'm so proud of you." Mom said.

"You did well Sonic." Dad said.

"Father, ululating yell really works to contact spirits." I said.

"Like a legend, it does, son." Dad said.

"I really am an Indian like you. I never thought I would be because I thought my archery came from you." I said, looking at the bow.

"It does, but the skills come within you." Dad points at my chest.

I hugged my father and mother to feel loved by my real parents. Something that I really needed before they can finally rest in peace and also watch me live a good life.

"We're always gonna be with you, Sonic. You made friends and family." Mom said.

"But you never got the chance to raise me. Did it bother you that much that you had to watch me grow up without you two?" I asked sadly.

"A little bit but one thing kept us happy is you staying alive. You father saved me and you by giving me time to hide you and I saved your life by giving you to Shadow and Silver to raise you for me and your father. We both died to save you. A father and a mother's love are what counts as saving their children's life." Mom held me close like a good mother she is. She and dad were solid enough to hug me back.

"Oh, there's someone else who wants to speak with you, my son." Dad said as another spirit appear and it was Amy's husband, Dexter.

"Good lord." I was a little startled that Dexter is still scrawny and a little bony when he was alive.

"Yeah, I'm used to it in my death." Dexter said.

"Dexter? What are you doing here? I thought I avenged you." I said.

"You did but I came down here to talk. I know Amy is still healing and I want her to be happy. Even if I'm dead, I will always watch over her and my gorgeous baby daughter growing up." Dexter said.

"It's gonna be tough when Iris finds out what happened to you. She'll be heartbroken that she never got the chance to know her real father." I said nervously.

"Someday when she's older, she'll understand what her father died for. But she has a mother now and I would like you to be her new father and a new lover for my wife. Can you do that for me, Sonic?" Dexter asked as he put his hand on my shoulder.

"I'll do anything to keep them happy and you to finally be at peace. I'll tell Iris when the time is right that you are a good man." I told Dexter.

"Thank you so much. It means everything to my family." Dexter smiled.

"You're welcome." I said.

"We'll be going now, my son. Always have the spirit of a bat that flies in the wind." Mom said and kissed my forehead.

"And the spirit of the wolf like my people, son. And don't worry, we'll always have the animal spirit forms guide you like we did earlier. Goodbye my son." Dad said as he and my mother faded, returning to heaven to finally be at peace.

"Take care of Amy and Iris for me, Sonic." Dexter said and faded away too and I looked at my hand and held out the ring he used to wear when he lived.

"Don't worry, Dexter. I'll always make sure Amy is happy as well as Iris too." I said and put the ring on my ring finger.
