New Family

This is the final chapter. Phew, finally finished. Its been 6 months of writing the story. And no, there's no sequel. I'm sorry. But I hope you guys enjoyed the story. I know some of you think Sonic looks like an anti-hero but its because he suffered from pain and misery, it makes him want revenge and justice to kill vampires that killed his parents. Like let's say part of your human soul is damaged by someone who took everything away from you and you feel alot of anger. But there's always love that can repair your human soul together so you don't have to suffer again.

It can happen to anyone who either had a traumatic past or a very rough life. And it makes them be forced to live with it. I know how that feels because I had to be forced to live with it too but I have ways to keep me sane, my family. So will the others too so they don't give into depression or misery. Just as long as they don't give up on themselves.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

(Sonic's POV)

5 years has passed since I stayed with Amelia and her baby daughter Iris and that I became a new father to Iris and a new lover to my pink rose hedgehog. So far, I've been getting the hang of controlling my hunger for blood with the help of Amy's love keeping me sane. However, I come here at noon to see how she and Iris are doing and I always keep my promise to Amy's dead husband to make sure she and Iris are happy and living a life.

Right now, Iris grows up so beautifully like her mother each year and she's now nearly 6 years old. She did know I have fangs but I made a lie that my one of my 'ancestors' was married to a wolf which passed down to me to having wolf fangs. I didn't wanna tell her that I'm a dhampir until she's old enough to know the truth. But for now, I just want her to be happy.

"Daddy!" Iris saw me coming through the window.

"Hey there Iris. Missed me?" I picked her up.

"I always miss you, daddy." Iris giggled.

"Just like your mother, my little angel. Have you been a good girl all day with mommy?" I teased my cute little angel.

"Yes I am, daddy. Mommy always tells me I'm a good girl." Iris said.

"Glad to hear that. So, what do you wanna do now?" I asked her.

"Mommy made lunch for us, daddy. She's waiting in the kitchen." Iris said as I put her down and walked in the kitchen.

"Hi honey." Amy turned around and saw me and Iris.

"Hello darling. Sorry I arrived too early but I couldn't wait to see my lovely ladies all day." I said, referring to them.

"It's okay my darling. I've just finished cooking." Amy said and kissed my cheek.

"Mmhmm....how's our little princess doing at school?" I asked, taking a seat at the table with my child.

"Doing good. Getting new friends and playing tag." Iris said.

"That's my big girl." I chuckled.

"Some are jealous I got the best parents." Iris said.

"That's why mommy and I are raising you to be the best kid you are." I said, hugging Iris.

"You're our treasure." Amy placed the plates with our food on.

"Ah, steak and mashed potatoes. Good choice, Ames." I said and began to eat.

"One of your favorites, Sonikku." Amy sat down and ate with us.

-

After lunch we went to the park to let Iris play at the playground. Just like I remembered the first time we took baby Iris here.

She wanted to ride the swingers so I put her on one, "WEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!" She cried out in joy.

"Heh, I still remember how cute you were in that toddler swing." I chuckled.

"Thanks. WOOOOOHOOOO!" Iris squeals in happiness.

Amy and I sat at the picnic table while watching Iris and we know she's a big girl. She right now made sand castles in the sandbox.

"Feels like we really are married, Ames." I said to Amy.

"You simply took his place in his honor." Amy said.

"Yeah. His spirit must be here somewhere, watching Iris." I said.

"Yes." Amy nodded.

Iris now puts a small banner on her sand castle and claps her hands satisfied of her work.

"Every day I see her grow more beautifully like an angel." I said.

"A pretty one." Amy smiled.

I looked at my arm that is bandaged up this morning because I wanted my guardians to feel daylight and explore the world. So, I had Tails' help by using a thingy to suck out my blood and into a blood donation bag. And brought it to my guardians to drink it up so that they can permanently become immune to sunlight.

Even though they didn't want to but I insisted because I knew they spent way too long in the dark and it's time for them to step into the sunlight. And it really worked. Since they raised me, fed me, took care of me, and kept me alive, I returned the favor.

"How are Shadow and Silver? Did your blood made them immune to sunlight?" Amy asked, looking at the bandage wrapped on my arm.

"They are doing fine becoming part dhampir." I replied.

"And have they tried normal food too? Did it also work too?" Amy asked.

"Yeah. Normal food is very lethal to vampires but now, they can finally eat normal food at daylight. Man, you have no idea how desperate they were to try tomato juice. It was very funny." I chuckled at that memory.

"Oh, boy" Amy chuckled too.

Then we noticed Silver walking to us with a lavender cat.

"Hey guys." He waved at us.

"Blaze? You're dating Silver?" Amy was surprised.

"Yeah, for a month ago when he saved me from a group of thugs that night. And yes, I know what he is." Blaze said.

"It's a long story." Silver said shyly.

"Can't wait to hear it soon. Oh, I can hear your pulse, Silver. How do you feel with having a pulse?" I asked.

"I've never felt more alive." Silver said, patting his chest.

"And the food?" I asked.

"Great. I love those cupcakes." Silver smiled.

"You're like a new Silver." Blaze chuckled.

"Yeah, my purrfect kitty." Silver teased her.

"Cat puns?" Amy asked.

"Yeah because I'm a cat." Blaze smiled.

"By the way, is Shadow enjoying way too much in daylight?" I asked Silver.

"He's getting used to it but he prefers the night." Silver said.

"Does he always follow the meaning of his name?" I asked while shaking my head.

"Not always." Silver replied.

I see Iris looking tired at the playground. Looks like Amy and I will have to carry her home so she can sleep peacefully.

"Looks like Iris already burned up her energy. We'll catch you guys later." I said to Silver and Blaze.

"Ok then. See you later" Silver and Blaze left.

Man, she really looks tired but its quite a little cute and funny at how hard she tries to stay awake.

"Had fun Iris?" I asked.

"Yeah Daddy." Iris nodded.

"You look tired, sweetie. Time to go home." Amy said.

Iris slept in Amy's arms, she looked really cute when sleeping.

-

We arrived home and we put her in her bed. Amy sat next to her humming a lullaby.

"Like mother, like daughter." I smiled.

"I'm glad we're in her life." Amy said.

"Yeah. I've never been happier becoming a dad." I said.

"Thank you, daddy." Amy teased me.

"Oh, Amelia." I chuckled, she leans in and kissed me while Iris slept.

It all started with the losses of my family but I've gotten raised by two vampire guardians and then centuries later I got a new start in my life meeting my Amy Rose and my step-daughter Iris. They brought a new light in my life even when those responsible for my parents' deaths are now eliminated. I swear to protect my friends and new family as long as I live. A spark is enough to bring the love out of hatred and suffering.
