Baby Shopping

(Sonic's POV)

The next day was a beautiful noon but I'm not much of a daylight person but my normal side needs vitamin D from sunlight so I don't look very pale like those evil vampires. It's nearly sunset and I've been sketching Amelia and Iris in my new journal; all these old journals I kept are still nearly in good shape from the mid-1700s to present day. Hundreds of them I kept to keep me sane from being hidden in the cave but now in an abandoned old mansion.

"Don't be late again." A familiar voice startled me when I was staring at the mirror but I realized that my guardians don't cast a reflection in the mirror but me.

"Grrrr!!!! Why can't you guys cast a reflection in the mirror instead of sneaking up on me like I can't see your goddamn reflection?" I was getting pissed that Shadow just likes to lurk and scare the hell out of me.

"I know you get even more scared." Shadow just gave sly grin.

"I don't get scared, Shadow. All my life I've stayed fearless so I don't show weakness. So, don't assume." I said and put my journal at the book shelf with my collection.

"Falling in love is a weakness too, Sonic. Anyone you care about would be the perfect bad guy target." Shadow said.

"True but there's one thing that they can't do. They can't take away my faith." I said.

"Of course. No one can." Shadow said.

"And I don't get tired of being right. Does it annoy you to life than death?" I snickered because he's undead like a vampire.

"You and your annoying vampire metaphors doesn't amuse me much." Shadow scoffed.

"And I never get tired of it but you do because you're like an old elderly hedgehog who's been alive for thousands of years." I laughed darkly.

"You suggest I rant like a grandfather? I don't think so." Shadow said.

"Well, you are, grandpa. You get arrogant all the time and when that happens, you nearly get killed." I smirked at the time he almost had his head chopped by a crazy vampire with an axe that nearly killed him.

"Right of course. You better have fun with Amy." Shadow said.

"I will because I haven't had a female friend in all my life. And hunt vampires for me." I said.

"Oh Sonic, be a good daddy to her baby girl." Silver annoying me again.

"Ha ha ha." I laughed sarcastically and jumped out the window, ignoring their laughs at me being a daddy to that cute angel baby.

-

I walked into the woods and put my bow on my back. On my way, my ears twitched at the sound of movements; great, I'm being lurked again. These vampires don't quit or leave me the hell alone; I took out my bow and arrows, aiming at anywhere its coming from.

"Oh, how innocent you are. You wouldn't kill a lady, would you?" A female voice came from the trees; great, a female vampire.

It's very rare of the times I fought and kill female vampires but I'm not going to let their charms take my guard down again because to them they are no lady.

"You're no lady, you're a monster!" I aimed at my arrow at her but she's very quick like a deer prancing around.

"Then what? It still counts!" The lady vampire was up on a tree branch grinning widely.

"No it doesn't!" I jumped up on the branch to grab her but she jumped to the next. "Grrr!!!! I'll bite your neck off!" I went after her.

"Try me!" The lady vampire avoided me with ease and even broke a branch I was standing on.

But with my quick reflex I was able to jump to the next before that branch broke off. I hate female vampires, they're always annoying at seducing me when I'm beyond pissed.

"Looks like you haven't forgotten our last date when I wanted your blood." She cackled.

I managed to tackle her down as we landed hard on the ground. "Yeah, and I wanted to stab my dagger into your heart for nearly biting my neck and drinking blood."

"What can I say, your blood makes me feel warm." She replied.

I punched her in the face for what she said to me was very nasty. "I don't care if you're a lady because to me you're a bitch!" I aimed my arrow at her.

"You wouldn't!" She gasps as I targeted her.

"Yes I would, bitch!" I shot at her in the chest, she fell backwards with the arrow in the chest, twitching until she didn't move.

"And what happens when vampire women like you piss me off?" I asked but she was too much in pain and unable to speak. "I hunger for their blood" I bared my fangs and sunk them deep in her neck.

She screamed in pain, good, because that's what vampires should feel pain the same way they killed my parents with so much pain. She's starting to twitch a little but she's still staying alive from nearly dying. Strong woman she is but eventually I have a trick to kill her.

As I finished drinking her blood, I moved away from her neck, "Say goodbye and I hope you enjoy Hell for devils to torture you for eternity." I glared and sliced her neck with my dagger to kill her.

Her body turned into ashes and I left the forest. I got her blood on my dagger as I licked it, feeling satisfied I hunted a female vampire this time.

-

I arrived back at the apartment and knocked on the door again, this time Amy opened with Iris in her arms. "Oh, hi Sonic"

"Hello. I told you I would come before sunset." I reminded her as I came inside.

"Dada!" Iris squealed like crazy when she sees me.

"Hi little angel." I picked her up and cradled her.

"She's starting to see you as her new daddy." Amy smiled.

"Does your husband look a bit like me?" I asked curiously.

"A little bit except his eyes were brown and his fur was very much a bit like your fur color." Amy said.

"I see. Tell me, what happened that day when he disappeared?" I asked curiously.

"Well, a year ago when Iris was born 2 weeks, he said he had to go on a mission but he never said where and he promised he will be home. And then when I waited for weeks, he never came back and I didn't want to believe he abandoned me and Iris because he would never do that. But when I tried calling him a few times, he never answered. I was very worried that something happened to him and I called the police to find him but they never found any trace of him or the body." Amy explained the whole story of her husband's disappearance.

"I'm sorry to hear that." I said.

"Its fine, but it's time to move on and taking care of Iris without him. Sometimes I feel like it's my fault that I let him go on a mission." Amy said.

"Don't blame yourself, Amy. It's gonna be okay." I hugged her.

"Mama?" Iris looked very curious to her mother.

"Nothing my dear Iris." Amy said to her daughter.

"Hey Iris, are you gonna be beautiful like mama? Yes you are, yes you are." I tickled her tummy.

"Kyehehehehehe!" Iris giggled.

"You make dada smile." I smiled but hid my fangs so I don't scare her; I stopped tickling her and rubbed my nose against hers.

"You want mama, angel?" I asked her.

"Ga wa ga." Iris nodded and climbs on me.

Cute girl but I handed her to back to Amy, "You're such an angel, Iris. Yes you are." I said.

"That reminds me, I gotta buy some baby stuff for her. You wanna come with us?" Amy asked.

"Uh, sure. But I need something to wear instead of my cloak. I bet the people will recognize me for sure." I said, a little nervous about being in the open in the city.

"That's not a problem. My husband kept a black hoodie when he was inspired by you." She brought me to her bedroom while holding Iris.

She looked in the closet and tossed the black hoodie jacket to me as I caught it. Looks okay for me to blend in public for sure but not my fangs. I should not say anything so my fangs don't get very noticeable.

I took my cloak off and hung it in the closet. I put on the hoodie and looked at myself in the mirror.

"Looks good to me." I said.

"You look like a new person in the city." Amy said.

"Hehehe....." Iris clapped her hands in excitement at me.

"Awww does Dada look great?" I teased Iris.

"She says you do." Amy said.

"Thank you, young lady." I stroked Iris's quills.

-

After that, Amy and I went out in town with Iris in a stroller. The city is so beautiful when it went from old days to modern time with when electricity came around and it help people's life more; around were both humans and animal citizens, especially those who are walking with dogs on a leash. I noticed a few others having babies like Amy do but different species and some were old.

Then I looked into a store window and saw some gaming systems for sale. Hmm.....even if I had a debit card I would buy it but I'm not in the records of this timeline.

"Hey Sonic, the baby store is over there." Amy points at the store she was looking for.

"Okay, ready for mama to get something for you, Iris?" I teased her.

"Wabba wa ga!" Iris squeals in excitement.

We went inside and there were toys, strollers, beds and clothes. This feels so different that in the mid-1800s when strollers weren't invented yet, I think, but this is so new to me when inventors changed everything for years.

"Okay. Now let's see." I looked around for a good price; I saw some baby food with different flavors from apple to peaches. Apple sounds delicious because I usually suck the juice from it like the way I suck blood from vampires. Perhaps apple sauce for Iris would be nice, if that's what she likes.

I picked it up and goes to Amy. "This one?"

"Yup, she likes that as always." Amy grabbed it and put in the shopping cart.

"Does she need clothes because I hear babies grow up so fast." I asked.

"Yeah she needs some. Can you help me with that?" Amy asked.

"Sure." I said and we went into the baby girl section of clothes.

Okay let's see, most of the girl clothes are in pink or red or even yellow colors. There's one in black shirt with a moon, that looks very nice since I'm more of a night person. I can see Iris reaching out for a black shirt with the moon.

"Awww want that cute shirt?" I asked her in a babyish voice.

Iris squeals happily and I picked the shirt to her to see if it's her right size. It was the perfect size for her and she snatched it from me like she desperately wants it so badly.

"Okay calm down, Iris. Mommy is gonna pay for it." I had no money on my own.

I went to Amy and showed her the shirt. "Hmmm that will do." Amy said.

"She likes it so badly." I said.

"Awww....she thinks you're the moon person coming at night. Is that right, sweetie?" She teased her baby girl.

Iris giggled and claps her hands in excitement. What cute little angel she is. I feel like I care for both of them now because they're making me feel different than feeling hatred in my heart.

We paid for the supplies and shirt and went out to see more of the city.
