Chapter 1
Two girls were in a cave, which was filled with a mystical blue light that danced around. The sound of rushing water was a background echo, sounding almost crystalline as the noise bounced through the cavern.
Kiara was sitting in a field of echo flowers, staring off into nothingness. She held a blue flower in her hand softly, whispering things into it..
Yumi was walking nearby, unaware of the other person there. There was a silly grin plastered on her face, despite the fact that she was soaking wet. "Temmies are so cute!" she exclaimed, to no one in particular. Her daily adventure had taken her to Tem Village, and clearly she had liked the temmies.
Kiara hadn't noticed Yumi, and continued to whisper into the flower.
Her voice echoed throughout the rest of the flowers.
Yumi looked around as she heard the voice from the flowers, but couldn't make out any of the words. "Hello?" she called out, the sound echoing around the cavern and to the flowers.
She turned her head, seeming curious for a moment before glancing back to her echo flower.
Yumi caught a glimpse of Kiara. "Ohhh, she must be the one who's speaking through the echo flowers!" she said happily and began walking towards the other human.
Kiara hadn't noticed..
She looked rather regal, her crown shimmering softly in her hair.
"Hi!" Yumi called out before noticing the crown. "Oh, wow..." she said to herself as she saw Kiaras crown.
She looked over.
"Oh! Hello there."
Her voice was smooth and soft.
She smiled. "My name's Yumi! Do you mind if I ask your name?" she asked.
"I do not mind at all. My name is Kiara."
She smiled kindly.
Yumi sat about half a foot away from Kiara. "That's a nice name," she responded.
She chuckled softly.
"I have been told that before.. but thank you."
Her emerald green eyes shone softly.
"You're welcome!" she smiled. "I like your crown, too. It's so pretty," she chuckled.
"Oh, is it really..? Thank you.."
The opal jewel in her crown was polished to the point where it reflected light..
Kiara seemed rather happy.
She nodded. "Yeah! It looks amazing!" she said sincerely.
She smiled softly.
"Thank you.. so, why are you out here today? I only come here to calm down after.. ..well, you don't need to know that, ahah."
"That's simple," Yumi responded. "Behind one of the waterfalls is where I live. That's actually why I'm soaking wet," she laughed.
She snorted and giggled lightly.
"That must be so inconvenient."
She spoke with a slight smirk.
She shrugged. "Well I like swimming, and I don't really care if I get wet."
She glanced away, feeling a bit awkward for a moment.
"..."
She tilted her head. "Oh, did I say something wrong?" she asked worriedly.
"Oh no, not at all. I apologize, I'm... very socially awkward. I don't get to speak to others very often."
She smiled. "That's alright! I don't completely understand, but you're the first human I've talked to in a while."
"Have you spoken to humans before?"
She asked curiously.
She thought about it for a moment. "Actually, now that I think about it... I don't think so."
She chuckled lightly.
"Then I suppose I'm the first you've seen."
"Well I think a human has been in this area. It would explain why one of my belongings went missing from the cave," Yumi responded with a laugh, remembering the tutu that had gone missing.
"Oh dear.. I hate thieves like that.."
She murmured.
"I don't really need it," she laughed. "But it still confused me when I couldn't find it."
"I can imagine it would. Something there one day, gone the next..."
She nodded. "Yeah," she laughed again.
..Suddenly, there was a yell.
"Miss Kiara!"
