Author's pov:

The wedding hall is beautifully decorated and filled with relatives and friends from both Anu's and Vikram's side. Preist (Pandit) is already seated on the stage along with his assistant checking all the necessary things for pooja and eyeing his wristwatch in between to see if muhurt time (auspicious time) is arriving.

Vikram's room is filled with his close friends who are teasing him continuously with their crazy suggestions while he is getting ready for the marriage.

Both families elders are happily receiving all the guests and checking the arrangements.

Anu's room is filled with the laughter of her friends. They are making her ready and teasing her. Anu is blushing continuously with all her friends teasing and warning them she will also get a chance to tease in future.

Ajay is full busy checking all the arrangements after all it's his one and only sister and best friend marriage today. Vijay is helping Ajay with arrangements.

This marriage is a big shock and surprise for Ajay and Vikram's batch mates. They all know these two are non-separable friends but they never guessed they will become a family in the future.

Vikram got seated on the mandap and started doing pooja following the instructions of the priest.

After completing the pooja, the priest asked Vikram to change into traditional white clothes.

Vikram changed his clothes and come back to the mandap in traditional attire.

Anu's parents also got seated facing Vikram performing the pooja as per the priest's instructions.

As the auspicious time arrived Anu's friends brought Anu to the mandap as a bride.

A cloth is held between Vikram and Anu not allowing them to see each other.

Vikram face held a beautiful smile and he is getting restless to see Anu as his bride.

Anu has a small smile on her face and she is little nervous thinking about the new phase of her life.

Anu parents performed Kanyadaan.

Next priest guided them to keep jeera kara bellam( A paste of cumin and jaggery) on each other's head.

Finally, the cloth is removed.

Vikram and Anu shared an eye-lock with hands on each other's head.

Both of theirs eyes held so many emotions.

All the elders started coming on to
the stage to give their blessings to the couple.

Few relatives started moving towards the food section after giving their blessings. Many stayed back to see complete marriage.

Next Vikram's mother gifted Anu a traditional white saree as per tradition.

Anu moved into the room to change her saree.

Anu got changed into the beautiful traditional white saree and got seated beside Vikram.

The priest started chanting mantras.

Vikram tied the magalstura around Anu's neck and filled her hair partition with vermillion. Anu closed her eyes feeling a new warmth.

Next, they completed the seven steps.

Here in their tradition, there will be no holy fire. They will arrange seven black stone like nuts and both bride and groom will touch them with the tip of their right leg thumb finger one after other and at last they will touch each other's thumb finger. (In some places of Andhra Pradesh they follow the tradition of holy fire but few places have this unique tradition which I have mentioned.)

After completing seven steps ceremony. They started pouring talamralu (Beams) on each other.

Next, there is a tradition that the groom will make the bride wear a toe ring. ( In some regions bride's maternal aunt will make her wear them.)

Here in their tradition, Vikram should make Anu wear them.

Anu shyly and hesitantly placed her feet.

Vikram following the tradition gently touched Anu's foot.

He slowly and carefully made her wore the silver toe rings.

Here you can see on that wooden stool there are some black nuts. On those seven steps ceremony is done. Here groom is making bride wore the toe rings.

Next they played the ring game in water.

There are 3 chances. Anu won the first chance and in second Vikram got the ring.

In last chance Anu won as Vikram silently placed ring on her hand.

At last priest guided the couple outside. He shared a small story of ancients times about a lady and showed them a specific star in the sky which is named after her. He asked Vikram to point that star and show it to his wife Anu.

The word wife felt like a melody in Vikram's ears.

Vikram and Anu followed the priest words and completed the last custom of the marriage.

Finally, It's time for Anu to like her house and leave with Vikram as his wife. 

Anu became dull and all Anu's family members are in the same stage.

Anu took blessings from her grandmother. The old lady hugged her granddaughter affectionately. Next Anu moved towards Ajay's and Vijay's parents, she is so close to them. The couple hugged her and blessed her to have a beautiful future.

Anu's parents have tears in their eyes, Anu hugged them tightly letting her tears down not wanted to leave them.

Anu's brothers stood in a corner silently weeping not able to see their sister leaving the house.

Anu rushed towards them and the three shared a group hug.

"Anna (brother) I don't want to go. Please. Don't send me. " Anu requested innocently still crying and placing her head on her elder brothers chest.

Vikram stood beside them seeing the affection of the bother and sister.

"I'm not sending you anywhere. " Ajay said crying more and hugged her tightly.

"This is still Anu's house Ajay. She is not leaving permanently. She is just going to another house to spread happiness there. She will be always our baby girl." Anu's father said reached them.

With all these tears and warning to Vikram, finally, Vikram and Anu started their journey.
