Chapter 3. The Queen's messenger
The three wolves traveled quite a mile before they arrived at the palace.
When they arrived, the place was covered in Orchid flowers.
It was rather odd due to her name being Queen Dhaila. But either way the carpet was light pink and the hallway walls were rose quarts.
The royal guards opened a large wooden door as it revealed Queen Dhaila herself sitting very royally.
"Step forward"
Queen Dhaila ordered the wolves.
They obeyed (totally not thinking of the punishment if they don't obeyed)
Queen Dhaila trotted down to the wolves to inspect them with her large flowery wings.
Queen Dhaila nodded to her royal guard telling them to go.
"Say you aren't Orchid's children are you?"
Queen Dhaila asked.
"No you're majesty.. The male one is mute and is adopted, and the female one is adopted too." Sparrow responded politely.
"Sparrow they can speak for themselves darling"
Queen Dhaila smiled at Sparrow with a soothing face.
"But m- I mean Queen Dhaila-"
" My love please" Queen Dhaila pleaded.
"Yes Queen Dhaila" Sparrow backed away from the two siblings.
"Say what brings you here?"
Queen Dahlia questions the two siblings.
"We came here to deliver this ribbon"
Pollen gulped as she handed the ribbon to Queen Dahlia.
"Ugh Orchid's got a style of tackiness" she chuckled jokingly.
"That's what I said!" Pollen groaned, forgetting her manners.
"I need you two to run an errand for me. I'll send a message to Orchid."
"What errand?" Pine asked in Morse code in curiosity.
"I need to send a message to the LoinWeather, Leader of the Spring tribe."
"Alright we could do that!" Pollen chirped.
"But why not Sparrow, isn't she your little messenger?"
Pollen added.
"I'm afraid my dear Sparrow is now on the bounty list to the short cut and this message is urgent"
The worried Queen explained.
"And we're almost..at war and Sparrow needs to take part in a very important role..."
The Queen added.
"Oh alright!"
Pine exclaimed.
"Please be careful and safe travels, may Theros guide you on your journey"
The Queen prayed.
Soon they left the palace and said their goodbyes.
"Alright she said this was urgent so we need to go quickly let's go!"
Pollen squeaked with no hesitation At all and dashed away, Pine followed Pollen stumbling into gaps of the rocky road.
Soon enough they entered the Blooming Forest.
The flowers glowed vibrantly in the dark forest, butterflies and bees roamed peacefully.
Pine and Pollen forced their ways through the thick vines and rushing rivers.
"How much longerrr!" Pollen complained.
"I'm sure we're almost there Pollen" Pine assured Pollen.
A bush rustled in the distance, both Pine and Pollen froze and listened carefully.
"Why did you move Arch!?" A voice growled.
"I didn't mean to Damsel!" Another voice hissed.
"Oh you two can't you just shut up?!" Another snarled.
"Shark you ain't the boss here I am" another rasped.
"Pine, do you hear that?" Pollen asked her brother quietly.
Pine nodded, starting to get nervous.
"Cut it out! I can be the boss when I want to Corron!" Shark snapped.
"Well isn't this technically Shark's plan?" Arch asked.
"It's literally an ambush, be quiet already!" Damsel groaned.
"Pine.." Pollen whispered to Pine.
Pine nodded.
"Run." Pollen said and they both started running.
"Hey our targets!" Arch yelped.
"Get them!" Shark bursted out.
Corron leaped out of the bush, Corron had a long sharp scorpion tail and black fur that also had lighter shades of black covering his pelt.
He starts to run after the two siblings.
Shark dashed out of the bush next.
Shark had really sharp teeth that stuck out of her mouth, a gray and light blue smooth pelt, and a shark fin and tail.
Damsel came out next flying out of the bush, Damsel had damaged dragonfly wings and a green smooth pelt with silver speckles covering his pelt.
Arch came out last, he had brown spider legs on his back and three red slit eyes, his pelt was very messy and covered in sharp brackens.
But by all means Pine and Pollen kept running but they were catching up quickly.
Shark had short legs but her shark fin and tail made it quick for her to travel through the River.
Damsel May have damaged wings but he is very quick at flapping them and he has lots of stamina. Corron had strong massive paws and he was a good dodger. Arch was the slowest but he could shoot webs like a spider, in fact big ones to help him swing onto branches and to bounce from place to place.
Soon Pine and Pollen hit a dead end.
"Heh...you can't run now..you have no way of escaping!" Corron crackled.
"And in fact you're near the wailing gorge...and you know the legends.." Shark chuckled.
"The fact how if you fall in the wiling gorge you become apart of the wailing gorge's spirit?" Arch whines behind them.
"Oh comn Arch we won't be dragged in there!" Damsel hissed.
"But anyhow... the worst part is a rainstorm is coming which means the gorge's water will start rushing!" Damsel added laughing.
"Pine there's only one way to escape.." Pollen sighed.
"No! There must be another way!" He cried in Morse code.
"I'm sorry Pine you need to deliver this not me"
"But- I'm mute!"
"You're more capable than you think Pine"
Pollen smiled, her eyes starting to get watery.
"No Pollen you can't I'm not ready to let you go!"
"Well I'm sorry... you're the better sibling anyways.."
"That's not true!"
"But it is..." before Pine could even speak, Pollen shoved Pine over everyone, as Corron stuck Pollen's neck to paralyze her with his scorpion tail.
Pine said no more and ran as fast as he could.
Shark was about to dash after him but Corron stopped Shark.
"Don't worry..the lad is mute no one would understand him" he grinned and looked at Pollen who was struggling to stand up and run as well.
"Hmph guess the message won't make it through.." Corron snarled, feeling pleased.
"I-I'll always find a way b-back!" She stammered and fell down due to the paralysis.
"But that's the point you won't..."
"What?"
"Goodbye lass..too bad you were just a kid" Corron shoved Pollen off the gorge and she fell down where the rushing water roared as it swept her through the current.
She gasped for air and grabbed on a log but that toppled her over and let her fall down into the water as she disappeared.
Pine heard Pollen's cries and he couldn't help but Scream in pain. Pine May not be able to talk but he could still make noises like screaming.
In rage he ran so fast he didn't know he had already made it to the border of the whole season. The Summer falls, the border of the Summer tribe.
