Chapter 1

I sat at my desk in my classroom, fiddling with my pencil. A math test sat on my desk in front of me, silently waiting for me to write on it.
Ms. Higgins sat behind her desk, filing through different papers, not paying attention to anything else.
I sat still, watching other students writing away on their sheets of paper. They seemed to have the knowledge of Albert Einstein, while I sat as still as cardboard.
As I sat there, my mind was somewhere else but here, thinking of fantasy. But my teacher kept looking at me, hinting I should get to work.
When I picked up my pencil, the bell rang, and I couldn't write my first dab of led onto the darkened white surface. I sighed and folded the paper in my hand.
"Take these sheets with you so you can finish them." Ms. Higgins said, as she folded her hands on her desk. I stood there, watching the other students pack out of the room. I held my homework tight in my hand, expecting my paper to crumple away. As I got up from my chair, Ms. Higgins stopped me from going out of the room.
"Why are you so un-productive today?" She said sternly, holding a blue envelope in her hands. She looked straight at me with her cold, dark green eyes. "You haven't been finishing your homework in class lately. I'm just worried that you're not doing ok." I put my hands behind my back and sighed. I didn't know what to tell her. Thousands of thoughts swirled around my mind like a huge gust of mist.
"Well...I'm sorry, I guess I'm just in my own fantasy world, not paying attention to my work. I'm doing horrible." I sighed. My hands lost a grip on my arms and fell to my sides, as I slouched down.
"Celeste, you need to concentrate more on your work than your own world." Ms. Higgins chuckled. "It's not good for your grades. Here, take this envelope." She handed me the blue envelope. I hesitated to grab it, but my hands immediately held tightly onto it.
"This envelope is something you should discuss your parents." She said, smiling. "It's very important. Have a good day."
I walked out of the small room, holding the envelope close in my hands. The other students seemed to have left school already, so I walked to my locker, which was slightly open. My backpack was sitting there, waiting to be picked up. I placed the envelope inside of my backpack, and put it on. The rough fabric brushed against my shoulders, and it sent a small shiver on them.
I walked towards the exit all alone, clutching to my backpack straps tightly, as I entered outside.

The wind roughly blew onto my raven black hair, and made me stumble backwards. There were people sitting by trees and bushes, talking about things that I didn't care about.
My hair flew wildly as I walked on the soft, luscious green grass. My feet stumbled to walk straight, and I couldn't see from the wind blowing directly into my blue orbs. As I walked on the grass, I saw my house overtop the hill my school was on. I saw my sister, sitting by the big oak tree in our front yard. My beautiful Husky, Haruki, Laid right beside her, sleeping. I smiled and walked down the hill, digging my feet into the dirt, keeping my balance. I walked down super slow, and I held my arms out to my sides. As I slowly walked, the wind blew furiously and threw me over. I tumbled down the hill, hearing my back-pack crunch against my back. I couldn't see anything, but dirt and grass in my eyes.

I opened my eyes, and saw I was in a clear pasture, surrounded by flowers and grass. A river streamed across the edge, with tiny fish swimming in the clear water. Rocks surrounded the river, cracking and whistling with every movement.
I sat up straight, my eyes on the beautiful flowers among me. Shades of blue, purple, pink and red were coloring the grassy canvas. I thought I was in wonderland.
I stood up and plopped my backpack down onto a rock, letting the contents slowly sink downward onto the cool cloth. I smiled a bright smile and admired the scenery around me. It was beautiful.
The wind blew right onto my face, and I spun around in circles, laughing with every step I took. The wind felt so good and I loved every moment of it.
The feeling of being alone made me feel absolutely amazing! Especially in a beautiful area like this.
Except, turns out I'm not alone after all...
