"You really think Bonnie could take on Klaus?" Damon asks Stefan. The Salvatore brothers were on the porch of the boarding house.

"She said that she could channel enough witch's power to kill him. Elijah thought that it would work and he was an original, so..."

"We just need to find him."

"Yes you most certainly do!" Alex calls walking up to the pair.

"Oh look who showed up! It's the evil bitch's kid brother." Damon mocks.

"Yeah well , the evil bitch's brother needs you to find Klaus. So you should really shut that beautiful mouth of yours before I ruin it. Now where's your witch?"

"Why the hell do you want her for?"

"She needs to do a locator spell ASAP. That's why."

"She can't do it without something that belongs to Klaus. I already asked." Stefan stated. He wasn't quite used to the whole Katherine's brother thing. It was maybe the second time they spoke since Alex came to the picture. He'd seen the man around the house. After the whole Rose ordeal, Damon told Alex he could stay as long as he wanted. Stefan was surprised his brother could show that much compassion, but he figured it was his was of making up for Rose's death. Stefan knew that Damon blamed himself. After all, the wolves were after Damon.  At first Stefan didn't trust the man, but after seeing him be swallowed in his grief, Stefan knew that Alex was nothing like his sister.

"Well she  needs to find a way to find him. Klaus has my sister."

Stefan took a step back, surprised. Damon just looked pained.

"And how do you know that she's still alive. Klaus probably killed her the moment he laid his eyes on her." Damon remarked.

"Because. When you decided to lock me in the tomb, me and my sister had a talk. She told me about her past with Klaus and how she's been on the run ever since. She told me that the reason why she was so afraid of him was because he wouldn't just kill her. He'd torture her and Tear her apart. He'd do anything in his power to make her suffer. He wouldn't just kill her, that would be too much of a mercy in his book."

The door opened behind him and Alex turned to find Elena.

"Alex?"

"Elena! Hi!" He smiled and made his way to enter the house, but it was like hitting a wall.

"You have to be let in." Stefan says to Alex and looks to Elena. "Elena, may I come in?" He grins.

"Yes you may, Stefan." She says and Stefan walks into the house. Elena looks to Damon, her grin falling.

"Come on now. Are we twelve?" Damon asks, annoyed.

"One of us is." Elena replies. "If I let you in, do you promise to obey the owner of this house?"

"No." Damon smirks.

"Seriously, Damon. My way. You promised. I call the shots. No lies. No secret agendas. Remember?"

"Yes, Elena. Sure." Damon muttered.

"Then please, come in." She smiles, and then her grin falls another time when she sees Alex.

"Look, I know I don't deserve your trust right now. I was working with Isabel and Katherine, but I made them both promise that they wouldn't hurt you. I never wanted that. I just wanted to free my sister and Damon here pissed me off when all I was trying to do was help." He pauses, looking Elena in the eyes. "I promise you, Elena. I won't hurt you or your friends."

"Why should I believe you?"

"Because you were there for me at my worst. I'll never forget that. I don't hurt my friends."

"Okay. Alex, you may come in."

Alex smiles and takes a step forward. This time, there was no barrier to stop him.

He sighs in relief. "Thank you, Elena. Really."

"No need to thank me. Friends are always welcome." She smiles. Alex returns it.

"So this is, Katherine's brother?" Bonnie says as she walks to the group.

Alex steps forward and extends his hand. "The name's Alex. You must be... Bonnie?"

"The one and only." She smiles and shakes his hand. Bonnie wasn't one to trust but when she took his hand, she didn't get the same feeling she got when she first met Stefan or Damon. Plus, Elena could trust him then so could she. It helped that he was super attractive.

"Lovely to meet you, Bonnie." He said then turned to the boys. "So what are we gonna do?"

"Well I know what I'm gonna do. I'm gonna go to school." Elena says putting on her jacket while Bonnie got her bag.

"No! We didn't create a safe house for you to leave it." Damon mocks.

"Yeah, guys. Klaus is out there. We know that." Stefan agrees.

"Yeah. Right. But where? No one knows. Look, I really appreciate what you guys are doing. And I'll be able to sleep at night knowing that I'll be safe here. But, I'm not gonna be a prisoner."

Stefan and Damon look at each other and Elena looks at Damon pointedly.

"Your way, Elena." He mocks.

"Don't worry. I'm ready. If he shows his face, I can take him. I know how." Bonnie assures.

"The way I see it, next to Bonnie is the safest place that I can be." Elena says as she grabs her bag. "Come on." She says to Bonnie.

Bonnie and Elena make their way out of the boarding house. Stefan looks to Damon, Damon only raises his eyebrows and nudges his head towards the door.

"Wait. I'm... coming." Stefan says reluctantly and makes his way to the door.

"And then there were two." Damon jokes.

Alex looks at him, his eyebrows scrunched together. "Yeah... no. If Bonnie is our only hope of killing Klaus, I'm not just gonna let her leave with only Stefan to protect her."

"Well if I remember correctly, you aren't enrolled in school."

"You're forgetting that I'm a vampire. I could compel myself into every class Bonnie takes. You know, I never did go to high school. Should be fun." Alex says with a shrug and leaves the boarding house.

Alex did exactly what he said he'd do and compelled himself into all of Bonnie's classes, first period being History. Easy enough for Alex; However, finding his classroom proved to be a bit more difficult than he liked.

"I'm a 500 year old vampire, and I can't find a fucking classroom" Alex thought. Nevertheless, the room came to view. He walked in and met a classroom full of confused stares, including Bonnie, Stefan, and Elena's.

"What are you doing here?" Elena asked as Alex took the empty seat next Elena, behind Bonnie.

"I'm here to protect you and Bonnie. You know, one vampire isn't enough to protect you from an original. We can't take any chances." With that the bell rang and the teacher came in soon after.

"Hello, class! What are we learning today?" The teacher mumbles.

"With the decades dance, we've been covering the sixties all week." A student answers.

"Right! The sixties." He pauses and looks towards the back of the classroom where Elena sat and then quickly averted them so he wouldn't look creepy and landed his eyes on Alex. He stared for a second, but turned around to start his lecture. Alex noticed.

"The... uh. The sixties! I wish I could say something good about the sixties, but actually they kind of sucked. Except for the Beatles, of course, they made it bearable. Uhh... what else was there? Cuban missile thing, uhh... we walked on the moon, there was... watergate." He mumbled.

"Watergate was the seventies, Rick." Elena corrected with a smile. The class turned to her confused, including Alex. He guessed that this was the teacher Katherine had told him about. The one who daggered Elijah. "I mean, Mr. Saltzman." She said sinking into her seat.

" Right. I guess it all mushes together up here. Sixties. Seventies. Thank you, Elena."

History class was strange to Alex. Well, school was strange to Alex. It was a total different experience. It was almost like another town, but smaller, and the kids were bitchier. He loved it!

At the moment, Alex was in the cafeteria helping out with the decorations for the decade dance while he watched Bonnie and Elena.

Alex liked Bonnie. He liked her spirit. She was a fighter, and right now- the biggest weapon against Klaus. He was determined to keep her safe. Same for Elena; However, he wanted to keep Elena safe for different reasons. Elena reminded him of Rose. He didn't wanna see her dead.

Elena and Bonnie ran up to him in a hurry. "Alex! Do you know where Stefan is? We need to go now!"

"I have no clue? Why what's going on?"

"Klaus just compelled a girl to tell Elena he was going to be at the dance. That means he's probably somewhere in the school!" Bonnie says.

"Okay. Let's get you guys out of here."

Back at the boarding house, they discuss their next move.

"So we go to the dance and find him." Damon stated.

"Really? How are we gonna do that? We don't even know what he looks like." Stefan remarked.

"Something tells me he's not gonna be sixteen and pimpley."

"He could be anywhere at anytime. He compelled somebody at the school." Alex added.

"Guess it's not as safe as you guys thought, huh?" Stefan looked to the girls.

They were interrupted by a knock at the door. Alaric let himself in. "Sorry I'm late." He called as he walked towards the group.

"Well look who it is. Hey, I'm gonna need you to put me down as a chaperone tonight. Klaus made his first move." Damon told him. Alaric nodded and then looked to Alex.

"Who's this?"

"This..." he pauses resting his hands on Alex's shoulders. "Is Katherine's not-so-evil brother, Alex. Alex, meet Alaric. Alaric, meet Alex." The two greet one another.

"Okay. So we find him and then what, hmm? What's our plan of attack?" Elena asked.

"Me. I'm the plan." Bonnie shrugs her shoulders. "He has no idea how much power I can channel. If you can find him, I can kill him."

"It's not gonna be that easy." Alaric laughs. "I mean, he's the biggest baddest vampire around."

"Alaric has a point. I mean what if he..." Damon stops and speeds towards Bonnie, but he was down before he could even get close.

"Well I was impressed!" Alex said.

"It doesn't matter if he's an original. I can take down anyone who comes at me. I can kill him, Elena. I know I can." Bonnie said, but Alex wasn't looking at her as she said it. He was watching Alaric. The fear in his eyes. Alex didn't understand why he'd be scared. It made no sense.

The decade dance was nothing like what Alex has expected. He's been to parties in his lifetime, but he'd never been to a school dance. He felt claustrophobic being surrounded by a room full of horny teenagers.

Alex wore a plain suit. It was the only thing he could find in Stefans closer that could fit him. It fit quite snug and the pants fit above his ankles. What could he expect, he was 6'3 and Stefan was definitely not 6'3.

"We have a special shout-out tonight. This is for Elena...." A student announces. "From Klaus." The group looks around in fear.

"That was a lame cheap shot. He's just trying to bait us." Damon remarked.

"I know everyone here." Elena stated.

"Maybe he's not here and just wanted us to believe that he is." Stefan added.

"It's a party people. Blend. Let him come to us." Damon insisted.

Bonnie agreed, pulling Jeremy away.

"There's Rick." Damon said nodding in Alaric's direction. "I'll be back." Alex followed him. The last thing he wanted to do was be Stefan and Elena's third wheel.

"Special dedication, huh? This guy's a little twisted." Alaric remarked as Damon and Alex made there way to him.

"I'm not impressed." Damon scrunched his eyebrows.

"No?"

"Let me know if you see anything out of wack." Damon says and walks off.

"If you don't mind, I'll stick with you. I've never been to one if these things and I really don't like Damon's company." Alex tells Alaric.

"You're over 500 years old and you've never been to a school dance?" Alaric asks surprised.

"Nope. I spent most of my time looking for my sister. As you know, she was running from Klaus, so it was pretty hard to find her. Actually, I only found her by accident. I had no idea Katherine was in Mystic Falls."

"Wow! That must have sucked."

"Yeah it did. What sucks more, though, is that I only got a few days with her before she was taken. I was so glad to have her in my life again, and she was ripped out of it once again." Alex pauses, and looks to Alaric. "Well anyways, sorry. That was pretty heavy." Alex says embarrassed.

"Don't worry about it. We've all got our baggage." Alaric chuckles.

Seeing Elena dancing with Damon, Alex decides to save her from the torture. "Well seeing as this got very personal very fast, I'm gonna go dance." He smiles and makes his way to Elena, but his arm being grabbed stopped him.

"Wait!" Alaric says and Alex turns around. "I just wanted to say I'm sorry... about your sister."

"Don't be, it's not your fault."

Looking into his eyes, Alaric speaks once more. "Still. I'm sorry, truly."

"Thank you." Alex says and walks off a little frightened by the intensity of the conversation he just had. "Why the hell did I open up to a complete stranger" Alex thinks to himself as he makes his way to Elena.

The two dance for awhile before Elena sees her brother alone and excuses herself, leaving Alex to look out for Klaus.

A little later, Alex notices Alaric leaving the gym looking sketchy as hell. He looked around, but Elena was nowhere to be found, so Alex left the gym close behind.

He arrived outside the school hallways where he ran into Damon and they walked in together.

"What happened?" Damon asks Bonnie and Elena as they run out into the hallway.

"Klaus...Klaus is in Alaric's body." Elena barely gets out, trying to catch her breath.

"What?" Alex furrows his brow.

"Like he's possessing it or something." Bonnie clarifies.

"Go find Stefan now." Damon tells Elena. "Now." He stresses and Elena runs off. "You didn't kill him?" He asks Bonnie.

"He's got some type of protection spell on him."

"You have the power of a hundred witches. Break it." He demands.

"I'm trying. If I kill Alaric, he'll just possess someone else. He knows I have my power, Damon. He's trying to kill me."

"No." Alex speaks up. "Klaus does not get to win tonight. No way." He declares and Damon nods his head.

"Are you still willing to do whatever it takes to kill him?" Damon asks Bonnie. She nods. Damon looks to Alex and he does the same.

"Good."

Damon and Alex walk out to meet Stefan and Elena.

"There you are." Damon calls.

"What are you doing? Where's Bonnie?" Elena asks.

"She's doing what she has to do." Alex answers.

"What?" She replies confused.

"Damon, where is she?" Stefan asks.

"Stefan, let her do this." Damon demands stepping forward.

"Dammit, Damon! Where is she?!" Stefan yells stepping closer so that they were face to face. When Damon and Alex didn't say anything, Stefan and Elena moved past them. Damon turned to Alex and Alex gave him a nod, chasing after them soon after.

Just before Stefan and Elena made it to the lounge, Alex sped in front of them, closing the doors.

"What the hell are you doing?!!" Stefan yelled.

" What needs to be done." Alex plainly says and grabs Stefan throwing him to the floor.

Damon knee Alex had to be the one to fight Stefan. While Damon was a good fighter, Stefan has bested him many times before; However, Alex was a 500 year old vampire. Between Alex and Stefan, there was no competition.

Stefan gets up and makes his way to tackle Alex, but Alex moves away quickly, grabbing Stefans suit and pushing him back again.

"For god's sake, Stefan! Stay down! You don't wanna fight me."

"Why are you doing this?" Elena asks behind him. Alex's heart breaks at the hurt in her voice.

" It's the only way to stop Klaus once and for all. It's the only way to keep you safe."

" I don't wanna be safe if it means my friend has to die!!" She yells and turns back to the door. When Stefan finally stops fighting, Alex makes his way beside her.

Bonnie looks at Elena one last time and gives in to the magic, falling to the floor. Lifeless.

"NO!!" Elena cries and is finally able to open the door in front of her. She makes her way to Bonnie's body.

Alex looks for Klaus, but he was gone. Just vanished as if he was never really there in the first place.

Alex walks away as Stefan and Elena grieve.

It was all part of the plan. He shouldn't feel guilty. He shouldn't care about wether or not he hurts this girl's feelings, but he did. And the guilt ate him up, so much so, that he couldn't sleep at night. He just hoped that they got over with killing Klaus soon, because he couldn't bare having attachments. It was just supposed to be him and his sister against the world. It had to be.

So Alex met Klaus! Sure it was in Alaric's body, but it was something lol. I promise that when Alex meets him in his real body, it'll be much more enticing. Well anyways, hope you guys enjoyed. Bye!!!
