The Dominion is well hidden from the Human world, almost inexistent. The Dominion being the overhead collection of twelve families which make up the council. This world is governed as a Monarchy under an elected Queen/King. Civilization is hidden behind gated & heavily guarded walls, as well as wards. Three species of vampires populate the world; Moroi, Dhampir, & the Strigoi.

Moroi are a race of born vampires divided by royal & common status. They can & will grow old like their human counterparts, so they are mortal to an extent. Moroi are known to be incredibly well mannered & don't kill humans when they feed; though they still can eat food as a human can, but not required as much like humans. Moroi also can specialize in any of the five elements; Air, Water, Earth, Fire, & Spirit.

Dhampirs are a race of born half-Moroi & half-humans gifted with immense speed, agility, & strength. Divided by royal & common status like moroi. Just like their moroi counterparts, they still age as humans do to an extent. They are the guardians of the Moroi & protectors of the Dominion. Dhampirs can't specialize an element. Eat like humans, but in larger amounts as their bodies burn through food faster.

Strigoi are undead vampires driven completely by bloodlust, making them the enemy of Moroi. They also are immortal which poses even more of a threat to the seemingly mortal Moroi. Strigoi embody everything you fear about vampires from folklore.

THE ELEMENTS

WATER - Control & manipulation of the water that surrounds them. Is considered the weakest of the elements, but probably can be utilized as one of the strongest.

EARTH - Control & manipulation of the earth around them. Is assumed with age earth users will grow weaker control of this ability.

FIRE - Creation, manipulation, & projection of fire ; one of the known effective ways to kill a Strigoi, Weakens the user.

AIR - Creation, manipulation, & projection of air. Suffocation of opponents. Weakens user after long use.

SPIRIT - Rare. Probably the most effective ability a Moroi can have. A range of abilities comes with this element; healing, restoring life, easier control of compulsion, aura sensory, telekinesis, mind-reading, dream-walking, & creating illusions. *Can drive the user to complete insanity & intense anxiety

Types Of Tattoos Dhampirs Can/Will Have

Promise Mark - Is given to Dhampir novices who graduate as a sign of completing their training.

Molnija Mark (Russian for lightning) - Tattooed on the neck; Marks how many Strigoi a Dhampirs has killed (Can have multiple)

Zvezda Mark (Russian for star) - Is a tattoo given to a Dhampir who has killed too many Strigoi to count in battle.

Relationship Dynamics

Moroi-Moroi = Pureblooded moroi. The truest of the three species. However, it is known that moroi often struggle with others who specialize an element different that their own. Not many of this dynamic succeed happily.

Moroi-Dhampir = This is the very dynamic that produces more dhampirs. More dhampirs equals more guardians for the moroi. A power dynamic no doubt exists. Given that dhampirs can be under compulsion, but Moroi can't be under compulsion without a user of the spirit element.

Dhampir-Dhampir = Considered a break of guardianship. However, it isn't frowned upon. Those who engage in this relationship dynamic usually deal with parentless children.

Dhampir-Human = WRONG. ABSOLUTELY WRONG. Those in this relationship have receded from the dominion. They've given up their training & prefer mundane life.

Moroi-Human = ABSOLUTELY NOT. Humans aren't supposed to be heavily involved in the dominion. Especially given that Moroi always tow the line of becoming Strigoi in regards to humans. How long can a Moroi sustain a mundane life anyway ?

Special Bond-- Purificato d'oro (Golden Purified)

This a bond that occurs completely removed from that of the shadow-kissed connected with a spirit user.

This bond has never been seen, but it centers around a Dhampir that can unite Moroi & Dhampir with its blood.

The special dhampir' blood causes intense euphoric hallucinations & can allow the drinker to see auras.
