1: I'm A What ?!
"Haeun, come here !", I heard my mother yell. The tone already had me a bit nervous. Why did she sound so anxious & disappointed ? I quickly made my way down the hall, entering my mother' room. "What's up ?"
My mother made me sit with her. Whatever she needed to say was serious. "I've been lying to you, Haeun ah. I'm so sorry..." Lying ? What had she been lying about ? This is when she began her explanation. My mother seemed to shiver & looked fidgety.
"I did the one thing Dhampirs' aren't supposed to do, Haeun ah. I left the Dominion completely." I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I wasn't human ? My father was some Moroi ? I shouldn't have been so angry with my mother, but she's hid everything from me.
"My father is a Moroi, right ? Why did you leave the Dominion ?" I had so many questions. Answers she clearly looked uncomfortable giving. "I left because I didn't wish to become a guardian of the Moroi. Your father is one of them, yes."
My mother held my hands. Tears falling down her face. "St. Vladimir' is a school for moroi & dhampir alike. I fear I must send you there..." What ? She was sending me away ? I quickly stood up angry. This was all a bit much.
I scowled, "You're sending me away now ? You just told me all of this ! I thought I was human !" My mother stood up, grabbing my hands once more. "I know you aren't prepared, but I think you would benefit from being at St. Vladimir'."
She was really pushing this. My mother was determined to make me understand. "Does Dad know ? Or were you always a fat liar ?" I was being rude, yes. However, I had a right to be upset. Not only did I find out that I was what my mother called a dhampir...I was also just told that I would be attending St. Vladimir' Academy. Hell on Earth. The man who raised me isn't my father... ?
"I know you're angry, but that is no excuse for your behavior. I am still your mother, Haeun ah." I rolled my eyes in response. There wasn't much I could refuse anyway.

My mother ended up driving me. It was an excruciating long ride to Hell. I knew vampires from folklore. Learning that I was half vampire wasn't what I wished to know. Soon enough we were just outside of the wards.
A man met us at the gate. He looked human, but my instincts told me otherwise. "Will you watch over our daughter or not ?", my mother quickly asked as she anxiously looked around. Did she not want to get caught around here ? "Non avete vergogna. Vili donne." (You are so shameless. You vile woman.) The man I presume to be my father muttered something in a language I wasn't too familiar with.
My father turned his attention to me. "Mantenerete la bocca chiusa. Capita?" (You will keep your mouth shut. Understood ?) His eyes flashed this golden color before I could respond. I went to speak, but nothing came out for the time being. My mother shoved him slightly, "Did you just use compulsion on our daughter ? That's low."
My father simply smirked before gently pulling me behind him. He certainly wasn't scared of my mother. "It is better if Haeun doesn't say anything that could jeopardize anything at the moment. At least I hadn't lied to her this whole time..."
Silently I followed my father through the gate into St. Vladimir' Academy. My mother disappearing from my sight as we crossed the courtyard.
