CHAPTER NINE: wolfsbane

'•.¸¸.•''¯'••._.• ᴮᴸᴼᴼᴰᵞ ᴹᴬᴿᵞ •._.••'¯''•.¸¸.•'

MARYAM ATHENA PEREZ HAD ONE THING ON HER MIND. To get to Derek Hale. Although she was unsure if they would be able to save the other before either the cops or hunters got to him, given the fact that Scott was the one driving. "I should have been the one to drive! You are driving so slow!"

"Scott, I don't think you're grasping the concept of the car chase here." Stiles tells him.

"If I go faster, I'll kill us." Scott replied.

"Well, if you don't go faster, they're gonna kill us!"

"And I can stop us from being seriously injured," Mary tells him.

Scott sped up.

"They're gone." Stiles said.

"All units, suspect is on foot heading into the Iron Works." The sheriff's voice comes from the stolen radio.

"Oh, fuck," Mary complained.
'•.¸¸.•''¯'••._.• ᴮᴸᴼᴼᴰᵞ ᴹᴬᴿᵞ •._.••'¯''•.¸¸.•'

They had quickly arrived at Iron Works. Stiles throwing the door open before jumping into the back seat. Chris Argent began to shoot at Derek, who was running towards the car. Mary leaned forward, lifting her hand and forcing the gun from the hunter's hands.

The man, clearly confused, looked to see who was inside the car. Only, the car had driven off and he was unable to see into it. And the car windows were tinted.

Mary darted forward, wrapped her arms around Derek's neck. "You idiot! You worried me."

"What part of laying law don't you understand?" Scott questioned, annoyed.

"Damn it, I had him!" Derek complained. Derek tapped the girl's arm, that was wrapped around his throat, only she didn't let go of the hug.

"Who, the Alpha?" Stiles questioned.

"Yes! He was right in front of me, and the friggin' police showed up. Mary, sit back and out your seat belt on."

"Whoa, hey, they're just doing their jobs-" Stiles began to defend the cops, mainly his father.

Derek glared. "Yeah, thanks to someone who decided to make me the most wanted fugitive in the entire state."

"Can we seriously get past that? I made a dumbass mistake. I get it." Scott complained.

"Oh, yeah, we can just tell that to the cops and hunters after Derek," Mary sarcastically spoke. "Oh, wait, we can't. The hunters will kill you and I on sight. And probably frame Stiles for a crime, or plain our day he lied to the cops.-"

"All right. Why don't we all just calm down?" Stiles piled Mary back to the seat. Before he turned to Derek. "How did you find him?"

Derek says nothing.

"Can you try to trust us for at least half a second?"  Scott questioned.

Stiles darted forward. "Yeah, both of us." Derek turned to him, annoyed look in his face. Stiles leaned back. "Or just him. I'll be back here."

Derek sighed. "Look the last time I talked to my sister, she was close to figuring something out. She found two things. The first was a guy named Harris."

"Harris? Adrian Harris?" Mary questioned.

"Our chemistry teacher?" Stiles asked.

"Why him?" Scott questioned next.

"I don't know yet." Derek answered.

"I can find out," Mary says."What the second?"

Derek took a piece of paper out of his pocket. "Some kind of symbol." When he has seen the look on Scott's face, he questioned the boy about it. "What? You know what this is?"

"I've seen it on a necklace. Allison's necklace."
'•.¸¸.•''¯'••._.• ᴮᴸᴼᴼᴰᵞ ᴹᴬᴿᵞ •._.••'¯''•.¸¸.•'

"Okay, did you idiots find a plan to get the necklace from Argent?" Mary questioned, from behind the two.

Stiles yelled, screaming in panic at the sudden appearance of the girl. He placed his hand over his chest, the section that his heart laid. "Stop doing that!"

Mary made a face at the boy, seemingly annoyed with his actions.  "Do you have a plan?"

"Get Allison's necklace." Scott speaks.

"Do you have steps to succeed on this plan?"

Scott shrugged before he shook his head. Mary sighed.  "Idiot."
'•.¸¸.•''¯'••._.• ᴮᴸᴼᴼᴰᵞ ᴹᴬᴿᵞ •._.••'¯''•.¸¸.•'

Mary had wanted so badly to skip the rest of her classes.  Break into the Argent house hold and steal the necklace.

"Mary, Mary!" A voice yelled as she walked through the halls, fast paced footsteps. She turned to see both Stiles and Scott rushing to her.

"Mary!"

"Can you two not act like crazy, lonely lunatics who finally made a friend and now have separation anxiety?" The girl asked, sarcasm lacing her voice.

Either way, both boys looked offended.

"Why-okay, whatever," Stiles dismissed. "Jackson knows. He knows that Scott's-"

Mary pulled both of them to the janitor's closet and then hit them both. "Why do neither of you know how to fucking whisper or say silent?"

"Okay, well, Jackson has no proof," Stiles spoke. "If he was to tell anyone, who's gonna believe him?"

"How about Allison's father?" Scott shot back.

"Okay, so, is bad. But, I have a plan," Mary says.

"You do?" Scott asked.

"Kill Jackson."

"Oh, my-" Stiles began in horror.

"We can't take the risk he knows about the Argent family," Mary says.

"Okay, where's Derek?" stiles asked.

"Lying low. Somewhere save."

Stiles and Scott turn to her, surprised.

"You know where he is?"

"Of course I do."

"Why didn't you mention that before?"

"Because I'm not telling you two idiots his location. For all I know, an Argent can capture you two and succeed in getting his location. If it's they simply threaten to torture and kill you, or do it, and kill one of youwhile the other tells the location. Or, you two just give up Derek for the offer to be safe."

"Oh, thanks so much for your concern about us," Stiles sarcastically speaks.

"What? I'll definitely kill the Argents if that happens, all better? Great. Because we've got a jock to kill."

"We are not killing Jackson."

"Fine. I'll kill him, wuss." Mary scoffs as she moved to leave the closest, the bell rung.

"You're not killing him either." Scott says.

Mary narrows her eyes. "Or what? You are gonna stop me? You've been a werewolf for all of give minutes and were stupid enough to date an Argent."
'•.¸¸.•''¯'••._.• ᴮᴸᴼᴼᴰᵞ ᴹᴬᴿᵞ •._.••'¯''•.¸¸.•'

At lunch, Mary had glared at the others who sat at the table, who either moved their chairs farther down or entirely left the table.

"Did you get the necklace?" Mary asked Scott.

"No!" Scott snapped.

Mary narrowed her eyes before Scott's water exploded in his face. Mary placed water in front of him, making the two boys realize she had grabbed two. For this purpose in case, she exploded one of their waters in their face.

"I'm guessing Stiles already asked you," Mary says. "Just tell me what happened. I don't care if you have to repeat yourself."

"She told me not to talk to her. At all."

"So, she's not giving you-" Stiles began, chewing his chicken.

"She's not giving me the necklace!"

"Well, did you find anything else out?"

"Just that I know nothing about girls," Scott sighed. "And that they're totally psychotic."

"I'd take offense to that. But, I'm a mass murderer, and Allison is an Argent, so, makes sense." Mary says.

"Okay, first off, stop mentioning that your a mass murderer," Stiles speaks. "it's terrifying when I remember that you told me how you killed those hunters. Second, I came up with a plan B just in case anything like this happened."

"What's Plan B?" Scott asked.

"We just steal the stupid thing."

"You and Allison broke up, know if she liked girls at all?" Mary questioned.

Stiles, who had opened his water and began to drink it, choked.  "What?"

"What? It's not the first time I've done something like this. I tricked a hunter, killed her in her sleep. Luckily, it was her house."

"You are not killing Allison. Or-" Scott stopped, unsure. "How exactly did you trick the hunter?"

"I didn't sleep with her, if that's what your asking. Won't sleeping with Allison, either. Not for plan b to plan e, at least. But? You said not to kill her, so, plan c and e are out."

"How many plans do you have?" Stiles asked.

"I'm coming up with more as we speak. Hey, how many people would notice if I ripped the necklace off her?"

"You are not hurting her! And, can't we try and get to Harris before even considering any of Mary's plans?" Scott speaks.

"My plans are good. D....always agrees with at least two. Any plan that's to do with him there, at least. Some bullshit about; 'you're going get killed' or 'you can't take on twenty hunters alone.' Dramatic ass man."

"And, my dad put him on a twenty-four hour protective detail," Stiles says. "The necklace is we got. Steal it. Thank you."

"Stiles, Mary, he's watching us," Scott speaks.

"What's wrong?" Stiles asked.

"Jackson's talking to me. He knows I can hear him. Look at me. Just talk to me. Act normal. Pretend that nothing's happening."

"Say something. Talk to me!" Scott demanded.

"Just pretend I'm talking, idiot, he can't see if I really am." Mary speaks.

"I can't think of anything. My mind's a complete blank." Stiles told him.

"Your mind's blank? You can't think of something to say?" Scott asked in disbelief.

"That's a shocker." Mary looks at Stiles, fake concern. "Are you okay? Sick?"

"Not under this kind of pressure," stiles reasoned. "FYI, he's not even sitting with them anymore."

Scott's head snapped up. "Where the hell is he?"

"Yes." Scott growled under his breath.

"Scott, come on, you can't let him do this. You can't let him have this kind of power over you. Okay?"

"Where is he?" Mary asked.

"By the vending machines," Stiles answered.

"Great," she stood up.

Stiles reached over, pulling her hand to sit back down. "What are you doing?"

"That definitely was suspicious," Mary tells him. "Going to throw my tray out."

"You've barley eaten."

Scott snap his tray in half.

"Im gonna make the vending machine fall on him," Mary says, turning around and looking at Jackson, standing in his eye line sight of Scott. The vending machine shook slightly behind Jackson's making the lacrosse player stand up straight, stepping away from it.

Stiles practically jumped from his seat, pulling Mary to sit back down. "Quit it, will you?"

"Sure, after his blood splatters across the entirety of this cafeteria." Mary replied, monotone as Jackson looked back at the table. Clearly unsure of how even with enhancing abilities, Scott would be able to do that. Mary gave him a mockingly friendly wave.
'•.¸¸.•''¯'••._.• ᴮᴸᴼᴼᴰᵞ ᴹᴬᴿᵞ •._.••'¯''•.¸¸.•'

Mary had practically ran home, only to discover that Derek wasn't there.
'•.¸¸.•''¯'••._.• ᴮᴸᴼᴼᴰᵞ ᴹᴬᴿᵞ •._.••'¯''•.¸¸.•'

"Jesus! Shut up!" Mary yelled as her phone buzzed for what seemed the millionth time.

Before she dug through her pockets to fish the phone out, glaring at the unknown number. "Who is this?" She immediately asked.

"Finally. What took you so long to answer?" Derek asked.

"Derek? What? Where the hell are you?"

"Where are you?" Derek shot back.

Mary looked around. "I was in my way to another Hale property. I already searched abandoned buildings for you."

"Just tell us where you are, so we can pick you up." Stiles's voice came through.

"Stiles? This is Stiles's number?"

"Yes, tell us where you are," stiles answered.
'•.¸¸.•''¯'••._.• ᴮᴸᴼᴼᴰᵞ ᴹᴬᴿᵞ •._.••'¯''•.¸¸.•'

Mary had saved Stiles's number. And waited for the blue jeep to appear with Derek and Stiles. Once arriving, Stiles got out of the car, pulling the seat back for Mary to enter.

"So, where too?" Mary asked.

"Beacon Hills Memorial Hospital," Stiles answered.

"Why?"

"Because the text was traces there."
'•.¸¸.•''¯'••._.• ᴮᴸᴼᴼᴰᵞ ᴹᴬᴿᵞ •._.••'¯''•.¸¸.•'

Stiles was on the phone with Scott. As the three were parked in front of Beacon Hills Memorial Hospital, still sitting in Stiles's jeep. Even though it was all three of them that was solving this, it didn't seem that Stiles got that. As he spoke to Scott on the phone.

"I know. Look, if you see my dad, can you tell him - tell him I'll be there, I'll just be a little bit late, okay? All right, thanks." Stiles hung up.

"You're not gonna make it." Derek tells him.

"I know," Stiles sighed.

"And you didn't tell him about his mom, either."

"Not till we find out the truth."

"By the way, one more thing." Derek speaks.

"Yeah."

Derek reached over, wrapping his hand around the back of Stiles's head and slamming it forward, onto the steering wheel.

Mary had been leaned forward, trying to listen in on Scott's side of the phone conversation. And when Stiles's head hit the steering wheel.

"Oh, God! What the hell was-" Stiles began, pained voice.

"You know what that was for. Go. Go!" Derek demanded.

Stiles left.

"What did he do?" Mary asked. But, soon her phone rung, as Stiles called her.
'•.¸¸.•''¯'••._.• ᴮᴸᴼᴼᴰᵞ ᴹᴬᴿᵞ •._.••'¯''•.¸¸.•'

"Yeah, I said I can't find her," Stiles speaks.

Mary had put him on speaker, so that she and Derek could speak to him.

"Look, ask for Jennifer. She's been looking after my uncle." Derek informed.

"Yeah, well, he's not here either." Stiles revealed.

"What?" Derek asked.

"What time is it?" Mary asks, tapping on her phone.

"He's not here. He's gone, Derek." Stiles repeated.

"Stiles, get out of there right now - it's him! He's the Alpha! Get out!" Derek yelled, before he begins to open the door, he turned to Mary. "You are staying here."

"No way in hell am I-" Mary began.

"You are staying here," Derek repeated before he immediately ran out of the vehicle

"You are staying here," Mary mocked, then repeating the words as she opened the door. "You are staying here. I'm not the werewolf to be telling people to stay."

She had ran into the hospital, freezing when seeing that Derek was already fighting Peter.

"Ah!" Mary yelled when she was pulled downs. "Stiles!"

"Do you have a plan?" Stiles asked.

"Yes," Mary stands back up, stopping Derek from hitting the ground. Only, as she began to gently set him down, she was knocked down.

"Mary!" Derek ran forward, but Peter has grabbed him, throwing him through the glass window.

Stiles had pulled Mary behind the desk. "Mary?" He questioned.

"I hate people," Mary muttered as she began to get up. "Call Scott. Get him to steal another wolvesbane from the Argents."

"What? No. Mary," Stiles tried to grab the girl. He failed.

Mary had found them, forcing Peter to the other side. He hit the opposite wall, as Derek leaned up against another wall, covered in dust from the broken walls, and blood leaking down his nose.

"Mary," Derek pulled the girl down, barely getting her out of reach as Peter's claws sunk into the wall. "Okay. I'll listen. But, you need to let Mary go."
