Engene has been with the vampire princes for over two years now. She was no longer drastically drained from being fed on. Engene can even take being fed on by more than one vampire at once. She sat with the younger princes. "Do you still hate humanity as much as the others ?" It was a genuine question from her.

Now that she understood them, she had began to pity them in a way. Sunoo snarled, "물론 우리는 인류를 싫어합니다. 당신은 우리 같은 부류에게 공정한 기회를 준 적이 없어요." (Of course we hate humanity. It isn't like you've ever given our kind a fair chance.) Engene could see how tense he had gotten. Surely he was referencing something, right ? "What do you mean by that ? Many people are into the vampire aesthetic." Jungwon hissed, still cleaning the blood from around his mouth. "Our immortal lives shouldn't be an aesthetic for you, humans. We aren't a gothic style for you to try & give up on."

She turned to Ni-Ki who had remained quiet. "What do you think ?" Ni-Ki looked at the portrait of the boys on the wall in the main hall. "당신은 피를 먹고 사는 생물로 다시 살 기회가 주어졌다는 것을 알고 죽는 것을 상상할 수 있습니까? 그 느낌은 모든 면에서 설명할 수 없습니다. 우리가 보는 모든 것이 인간 미디어에서 악마화되거나 지나치게 낭만화된 뱀파이어일 때 특히 좌절감을 줍니다." (Can you imagine dying & learning you were given a chance to live again as a creature that feeds on blood ? That feeling is inexplicable in every sense. It is especially frustrating when all we see is vampires either demonized or overly romanticized in the human media.) Engene finally understood the true root of their hatred towards humanity. They've never been accepted for what they truly are. Vampires are either depicted as soulless demons, or they are tortured romantics who have a soul despite the dark thing they must do to survive.

It had occurred to Engene that she had never asked either of the princes how they had died. Sunghoon had joined their little discussion. "Can you blame us ? Humans either make a mockery of our merciful behavior by romanticizing it or they burn us at the stake." She sighed. They were nice to her, but it very much was to keep her from complaining all the time. Besides should she piss them off more than her presence already does ? "So what is your solution to that other than hating humanity ?"

Sunghoon rolled his eyes. Stop hating humans ? Like that would ever happen. "왜 흡혈귀들은 인간의 그릇된 행동에 대한 해결책을 생각해 내야 할까요? 왜 우리는 인간이 단지 일을 망칠 뿐인데 악에서 더 나아져야만 합니까?" (Why should vampires come up with a solution to human misguidedness ? Why must we be the better of evils when humans do nothing but ruin things ?) He had a point. Humanity ruined & fixed things all in the sense of evolution. People change just like how time can change.
