Engene couldn't believe her aunt was this way. "Well, coming here with good intentions was useless." Was her fate cursed ? Why did she have to be so emotional & try to save her aunt. Lady Jung was soon released from her bindings. "There is a way to save yourself. Want to hear how ?"

Engene didn't have much choice. Either die or someone escape. What escape much a real choice at the moment ? "대안이 뭐죠? 말해 주세요." (What's the alternative ? Tell me.) Lady Jung rubbed some feeling back into her arms & hands.

"You must serve the vampire royal family. You'll act as a human shield. A means to have humanity understand them & their existence." Who wouldn't be upset by this suggestion ? Engene sighed, "What does that mean ? A human shield ?" Lady Jung smiled, but there was little that her expression really told. She basically was giving up her niece to complete monsters. 

Sunghoon answered. "세세한 부분까지 신경 쓸 필요는 없어요. 우리가 얼마나 자비로운지 당신이 의심해선 안 돼요." (You don't need to worry about the details. It isn't your place to doubt how merciful we're being.) Engene glared before she was whisked away to some room by a few vampires. The blood splattered walls were still covered in blood, & bodies still littered the floor. She was tossed into a room without much care about her. Totally expected. 

Her aunt had brought her dinner. "I won't eat that. How can you expect me to eat right now ?" Lady Jung rolled her eyes. She knew her niece would be difficult, but she needed to adjust quickly. "You need your strength. At dawn you'll be expected to meet the princes more formally." Engene was mentally exhausted. Was she really expected to enjoy her time here ? To understand the very monstrous creatures holding her hostage ? 

"Formally ? Why would I need to get to know those bastards ?" Lady Jung sighed. How can she get her niece to be more respectful ? "They are royalty nonetheless. Be grateful they aren't serving your head on a platter." Engene had to admit that there were not many options. She took the plate of food from her aunt. "Did you cook this ? Do you cook for yourself ?" Her aunt nodded pleasantly surprised Engene was finally calming down, "이 근처에서 제 일을 하려면 밥을 먹어야 해요. 에너지가 필요해요." (I need to eat in order to do my job around here. I need my energy.)

Engene ate her plate fully. It wasn't long before she was to meet the princes. She glared as she took her seat. Heeseung smirked, rising from his seat. He pointed at each of the other princes & introduced them.

"Sunghoon...Jungwon...Jay...Sunoo...Ni-Ki...and Jake..." His cocky attitude was very much pompous & annoying to Engene. "What exactly do you want me to do ?" Sunoo pointed out the window. You could see the gate keeping humans out of the little vampire colony they had built. "We want you to write a series on us. Explaining our species & how we co-exist with humanity. Like a interview of sorts for the general public to read." 

"So you want me to propagandize the vampire agenda ? Be a lackey ?" Ni-Ki hissed at her, showing his fangs. Jay rolled his eyes, "You'll also be a constant source of food for us. Luckily for you, we don't feed on a schedule." Engene couldn't bare the red eyes that mainly had hyper focus on her neck. Can she survive here ? 

Her eyes traveled the walls. Blood still faintly being seen all over the estate. Why were there vampires so vicious to humanity ?
