Chapter Eight: Flying cake
A month or so had now passed, and every day throughout this month Jungkook would sneak out of the mansion to visit the vampires.
Jungkook's mother was beginning to get suspicious of her son's 'trips to the market.' She noticed that early in the morning Jungkook would say that he was going to the market then come back home late at night.
And every time he came back home he did not have anything with him, not even a book.
She then sent Hoseok to spy on him, little did she know that Hoseok was also with Jungkook at the vampire's mansion so he told her that Jungkook sat in the library all day, reading.
She was still not convinced so she hired another maid to watch over Jungkook.
___________
"Jungkook sweety?"
Jungkook looked up from his plate an on his mother "Yes mother?"
She sent him a smile "There is someone I would like you to meet." She clapped her hands and the dining room door opened.
A girl with blonde hair, that framed her face quite good, she looked shorter than Jungkook and she was wearing a maids outfit.
Hoseok who was standing on the other side of the room stared with wide eyes and mouth open.
The maid noticed him and winked at him, she turned to Jungkook and bowed "My name is Lalisa but feel free to call me Lisa, young master."
Lisa walked over to Hoseok and silently stood beside him.
_
Dinner finished soon after, Jungkook being the first one to leave the table to walk up to his study.
Jungkook's personal maid and butler followed after him of course, the two servants were whispering to each other behind Jungkook.
Mostly Hoseok.
"What are you doing here?" Hoseok said in a hushed tone.
"I needed a job," Lisa answered simply "And Lady Daejung stopped me yesterday and asked me if I wanted to work for her, or mostly her son, I said no thanks first but when she said how much the salary was, I, of course, immediately accepted."
"Why do you even need money?"
"Personal." Lisa hissed back.
Jungkook stopped walking making the two servants bump into him "What are you two talking about?"
"Nothing." They said in sync.
"Do you two perhaps know each other?" Jungkook asked and walked into his study.
Hoseok clasped a hand over Lisa's mouth before she could even open her mouth. "Yes, young master, we went to the same school."
"Oh really?" Jungkook turned around to eye Lisa "Did my mother hire you to spy on me?"
"Yes, she did." Lisa said as she removed Hoseok's hand from her mouth "But don't worry I won't tell her about the mansion you keep on visiting."
Jungkook stood still for a few seconds, shocked that she knew about it.
It seemed like Lisa had read his mind because she answered him quickly after.
"I know this because I know about them, I'm a close friend of Jimin." Lisa said, picking at her nails bored, she glanced up at Jungkook "Well I must take my leave, I don't want to keep lady Jiwoo waiting."
With that, the girl walked out.
Jungkook made his way across the room, over to his closet "Hoseok I'm going out." He said grabbing a jacket out from the closet "Want to join."
"Of course, I will go and grab my coat." The butler exited the room leaving Jungkook alone.
Not for long.
The door creaked open, Jungkook thinking it was Hoseok.
"Back already-" He stopped mid-sentence at the sight of his sister, Somin "What are you doing here Somin?"
Somin walked further in, closing the door softly behind her. She looked both stressed and exhausted, she had dark sicles under her eyes and her hair was a mess. Jungkook realized that she hadn't been present at the dinner table either.
"Jungkook, you're sneaking out again?" Somin said, "Don't try, I know that you're not going to the library."
The younger looked down in shame "Yes." His head snapped up "But please don't tell mother or father!"
Somin chuckled "Don't worry, I won't. Also, farther wouldn't care." She sighed "I'm sorry if I'm disturbing you but I need to ask you for a favor." She walked over to him and handed him a small paper note "Could you please buy this on your way back home?"
Jungkook grabbed the note and unfolded it "This is a list of different herbs and other things? What do you need this for?"
"It's just for an experiment I'm doing." Somin told him "I'm testing out what the different herbs do to your body."
Jungkook could tell she was lying but didn't question it.
"I will do it."
"Thank you!" Somin ran to the door after giving him a quick hug "Also good luck with the marriage."
_
"Hoseok slow down!" Jungkook shouted after trying for minutes to keep up with the butler's fast pace.
Hoseok stopped up to allow the younger to catch up with him "I'm sorry young master."
"We are not at the mansion anymore stop being so formal and call me Jungkook!"
The ginger-haired butler stopped up "Jungkook? I haven't called you in years."
Jungkook smiled "Now you better call me it, being called master makes me want to die." He chuckled and grabbed Hoseok's hand "Remember that you're my friend, not some servant, well you are a servant but that's because my mother said so. Come on let's get going."
The two began walking again.
"I have to ask you something youn- I mean Jungkook," Hoseok said, "You seem really close to Taehyung lately, is there something going on between the two of you?"
"Oh don't worry Hoseok you're my number one friend, there is just something about Taehyung that makes my stomach jump and I want to be closer to him." Jungkook looked at Hoseok "So for the past month I did my best to get closer to him."
Hoseok nodded "Okay, you know what that feeling is called?" He asked the younger.
Jungkook shook his head, staring up at the moon "I have no idea, never felt this feeling before."
The butler smiled thoughtfully to himself "Then you have to find out." Hoseok speeded up again "Come on, the first man to the mansion have to wake up Jimin."
"No! I don't want to wake him up!" Jungkook began sprinting for his life to get to the mansion first.
The reason why he and Hoseok did not want to wake up the blonde vampire was that lately Jimin had been grumpy and shut himself in his room, sulking or sleeping all day. Last time Jungkook tried to wake him up, Jimin threw a night lamp at him.
_
Jungkook came to the mansion first, he was about to knock on the door but it opened revealing an unfamiliar face.
"Oh sorry is this the wrong place?" Jungkook asked unsurely.
The man shook his head, his black hair shone in the moonlight "You're Jungkook right? Well, I'm Jackson, just about to leave, Jin said something about you coming so I decided to leave before you came, guess I missed the time." Jackson chuckled "I will take my leave then, have a good night Jungkook." With that Jackson walked away.
"Jungkook!" Jin yelled excitedly "Come in, Taehyung have been asking for you all day."
"No, I haven't!"
Jungkook smiled, he glanced behind him to see if Hoseok would come running around the corner, he did come but not running.
"Do you have more cakes Jin?" Jungkook's mouth watered at the memory of the sweet cakes he had tasted.
Jin nodded "Of course I have, follow me." Jin looked at Hoseok who came walking up the road "Hurry up Hoseok!"
The young boy slipped under Jin's arm and inside the house, to his surprise, Jimin was sitting at the table playing cards with Yoongi, looking happy and face as red as a tomato.
Jungkook raised an eyebrow at Jimin's weird behavior.
"Don't mind him." Taehyung's voice from behind him, and he turned around. Taehyung was leaning against a pillar "He gets like that when Yoongi is out of town."
"Does Jimin perhaps like Yoongi?" Jungkook asked making Taehyung stare at like he had said the most obvious thing in the world, which it was.
"Take a look for yourself because I'm not answering you."
Jungkook rolled his eyes "A simple yes would have been nice." He muttered.
"I got cake!" Namjoon came walking out of the kitchen, a white frosted covered cake in his arms, the plate was kinda wobbling in his hands and by the looks of it, he was struggling to carry it.
"Be careful Namjoon do not drop the cake!"
Just as the words left Jin's mouth, Namjoon lost his balance and the cake went flying, Jungkook screamed in horror scaring Hoseok who just came inside the house.
Luckily Jimin caught it before it hit the ground by jumping over the table and landing in a split, the cake landed softly on the plate he was holding.
"Nice catch Jimin," Yoongi commented making Jimin surprised and jump up, and again the cake went soaring through the air.
Jungkook stared at the white cake as it went in the direction of a panic looking Namjoon, the vampire tried to with all his might to catch the plate then the cake.
It didn't go as planned.
The cake hit Namjoon in the face, white frosting flying in every direction.
"I don't cake." Namjoon's voice was muffled by the cake and slowly it slid down his face.
"Bloody hell Namjoon!" Jin yelled from the kitchen "Luckily I knew something like this would happen so I got another one." Jin came out of the kitchen with a similar cake, he put it down on the table.
Jin then walked over to Namjoon to and kissed his frosting covered cheek "mmm, taste good if I can say so myself."
"Can I please take a piece of the cake..." Jungkook said.
"Of course."
_
A few hours later, of eating cake, Jungkook had gone up to his room that he had gotten from Jin.
It was a room with red walls, and light brown covered wooden floor, a bed placed on the left side of the bedroom door, in the middle, it had a nice view to the window making it so he could watch the night sky before he went to sleep.
Jungkook sat down on the soft mattress, already in his nightgown that he borrowed from Jin, the material was silk and according to Hoseok made him look like a baby. Then he slid under the covers and got comfortable.
There was a knock on the door and Jungkook being lazy and just found the perfect position just yelled for them to come in.
Taehyung peeked his head into the room, his brown-haired bangs where tied up "Uh can I sleep here for the night?" his face was flushed.
"Sure!" Jungkook said a bit too excited that he had intended to.
Taehyung smiled and hurried into the room, closing the door after him. The vampire climbed into the bed and laid down beside Jungkook.
That's when Jungkook noticed that Taehyung was carrying a stuffed lion toy.
Taehyung caught Jungkook staring at the toy in his arms and smiled "Cute right?"
Jungkook blinked, realizing that Taehyung was talking to him "Uh yes, quite."
"Jin got him for me," Taehyung picked it "It's really new, I got him about fifty years ago."
For Jungkook that was a long time ago but for Taehyung who had lived much longer, it felt like he had gotten the lion last year.
"But why did you want to sleep here tonight?" Jungkook asked the vampire.
"Oh! I just thought it would be a chance to get to know each other better!"
"So what do you want to know?" Jungkook met Taehyung's brown eyes, he could notice the small specks of a slightly yellow color, it made them kinda glowy.
"Hey, Jungkook you there?" Taehyung snapped his fingers "I asked you what it's like in your home?"
"Oh, uh," Jungkook hadn't expected the question but tried to explain it "It's nice, kinda annoy to live with five girls."
"You don't have any brothers?"
"I did but he died a few years ago."
"I'm sorry."
Jungkook shook his head "It's okay." He yawned "Let's continue this tomorrow." He looked down at the vampire who somehow managed to fall asleep in thirty seconds.
How!?
"Good night Taehyung." Jungkook turned around, facing the window, staring at the moon somehow made him calm and easier for him to fall asleep.
A pair of arms wrapped around his waits. Jungkook stiffened and glanced at the male behind him, he could barely see Taehyung's face because the vampire had hidden it in his back.
Jungkook felt Taehyung's warm breath through the thin fabric, his cheeks felt incredibly hot and he felt dizzy, there was this warm, fuzzy feeling in his stomach and he couldn't stop smiling.
That night Jungkook had slowly fallen asleep to the sounds of Taehyung's steady breath.
